the 21st century and find reasonable alternatives.
Need to deal decisively the disturbing disadvantages like disruption,
disintegration, distraction, deviation and diversion both, in the classrooms
and in the society
Alleviate such forces from making influence in class-rooms to communities,
culture to communication, demonstration to decision-making and
performance to proficiency
If we relate the traditional class
rooms with the 21st century class
rooms, we could see the difference.
we need to provide a congenial
collaborative learning
The present classrooms have altogether got a
transformation. We need to evaluate the
variations in our schools over a period of time.
In a 20thcentury class
room
In a 21stcentury class room
Accuracy is measured by
quantity of content.
Accuracy is measured by right questions/problem
solving.
Content is studied by separate
disciplines.
Problems are explored within and across the
discipline.
Learners worked alone and in
competition.
Learners worked in teams.
Rewarded by marks or grade. Rewarded by mastery and contribution.
Taught in isolation by content
experts.
Taught by a team with Educational technologies.
Learning is assessed through
traditional tests and quizzes.
Performance based assessment allowing students to
demonstrate.

Performance based assessment allowing students to demonstrate.
