1. Introduction
There have been significant changes in moisturisers over recent years and ones that have SPF claims
are proving to be very popular (figure 1) due to the great increase of skin cancers cases that have
been observed worldwide in fair–skinned populations since the early 1970s. This is strongly linked

with personal behaviour in regards to sun exposure and its ultraviolet (UV) component, and also to
do with society's views that tanning is attractive and healthy (1).
When sunlight goes through the atmosphere, all UVC and approximately 90% of UVB radiation is
absorbed by the ozone layer, water vapour, carbon dioxide and oxygen. UVA radiation is less
affected by the atmosphere; consequently, the UV radiation reaching the Earth's surface is mainly
composed of UVA and a small UVB (2).

Introduction
Regeneration of tissues to replace diseased, missing and traumatized dentin/pulp emerges from
recent progress in stem cell and tissue engineering research. Dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs) are
considered a promising population of cells in regenerative dentistry and have been shown to produce
dentin/pulp–like tissues following implantation in vivo (Gronthos et al., 2000; Gronthos et al., 2002;
Shi et al., 2001). Importantly, DPSCs reside in the microvasculature region of the dental pulp and
interact with perivascular cells (Shi and Gronthos, 2003). Therefore, endothelial cells could be a
major source of modulators of pulp–dentin development and angiogenesis. We recently showed that
co–culture of human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) with DPSCs enhances
osteo/odontogenic differentiation and angiogenesis in monolayer cultures (Dissanayaka et al., 2012).
However, the interactions of these two cells in angiogenesis and pulp–like tissue regeneration in
vivo remain unknown.
Shaping functional dentin/pulp complex from monodispersed expanded cell cultures is an ongoing
challenge. Tissue engineers have thus mostly relied on biomaterials/scaffolds in which cells can
grow and differentiate. Several reports have shown that dental stem cells being seeded onto a matrix
scaffold and transplanted in vivo form a new tissue similar to that of the native pulp (Cordeiro et al.,

If you are like me, you have grown bored with the theme parks, not to mention the expense, in
Orlando, Florida. Here are a few ideas that have been fun–filled and educational for our family. We
travel in a camper, which opens a whole new world of travel. If you don 't have a camper, one can be
rented from almost any RV salesperson. Prices vary, but it will average out to about the same as a
week in Orlando. These are just our experiences, and we are not a travel agent. Number 1: If you
enjoy Florida then try a trip down Florida Highway 101. You can pick up Highway 101 in
Jacksonville, Florida. As you head south you will be able to view miles of beaches. There are many
places to park and enjoy the beach at your leisure. You will be passing through several small towns
that offer the traveler sights and services. Make sure you plan a day or two stop in the oldest city St.
Augustine, Florida. The shops and sights are well worth a two day stop. From here continue south
and visit Daytona Beach, the home of the first NASCAR race. Number 2: From Atlanta, Georgia
head North on Interstate 75. Make sure when you get to Calhoun, you exit and follow the signs to
Echota. This is the location of the first Cherokee Indian Capitol. There is a great museum showing
the life of the Cherokee Nation. Back on I–75 North your next stop should be Chattanooga, Tn. Here
