Group Project 3 Lessons Learned Report
Group Project III Lessons Learned Reflection
Introduction
The purpose of the lessons learned document for the Campus Tree Planting Project is to gather the lessons learned in a certified document. This
document will be used by prospective project managers who will work on comparable projects. This document will be used for new project planning
and will be useful for all managers to know what to do and what to avoid in the future.
Lessons Learned
This report is based off a lessons learned sources document attached separately, the categories are: Issue Name, Problem/Success, Impact, and
Recommendations. The Issue names are Planning/Content, Project milestones, Project Processes and Behavior. This report list failures and success of
this project.
Lessons Learned for Planning and Content: Problems and Success: The project manager had a clear vision of how to start and complete the tree ... Show

Recommendations: Establish a share drive or drop box to store all official documents concerning the project. This will be helpful for all current and
future team members working on similar projects.
Lessons Learned for Project milestones:
All milestones were realistically set and met! Budgeting and purchasing of the trees was pretty much on target, the team worked with the vendor to
stay within the budget and purchasing of the trees, surveying the area digging and tree planting. Recommendations: Always set a realistic schedule
and goals and stick to it if possible. Utilize experts to give good advice and guidance.
Lessons Learned for Project milestones 2:
All milestones were met; but there was not a risk management plan established. Recommendations: Plan a procedure of determining how to organize
and implement risk management actions during the course of the life cycle a project. This will help avoid any enormous setbacks.

Group Projects: Working In The Professional World
Have you ever had to work on a project or assignment in a group? Working in a group might be an uncertainty for many individuals who feel that they
put in more effort than some peers. However, I believe working in groups has the highest potential. Group projects help students develop and improve a
significant amount of skills that can be used in the professional world.
I've always been an independent worker and haven't relied on others to do work. However, when you can bring in a mindset full of independent
workers a group project is a breeze. Group projects open a door for students to collaborate and work cohesively. Having members in the group that
care about the work they're going to present is critical, a group project cannot be done by

Grading Criteria
Individual Participation
It is very important that all team members do their fair share of the work to complete the Group Project. At the beginning of the project, each team
needs to assign team members to the following roles:
Researcher
Writer
Editor
Illustrator
Other Roles as decided by the team
The work should be balanced among the team. At the conclusion of the project, each team member will rate the participation of each of the team
members, including himself or herself. These ratings will be sent to the instructor via Private Messaging, using the criteria below.
Grading Rubric for Individual Participation
Description of Participation

My Failures During My Group Project
Another failure that I faced during this class was working with my group project. I am not used to having group projects but whenever I did have
them, I always worked with people I knew well. I knew I had to try my best and put effort in communicating more with my group members. Although,
I tried my best to communicate with others, despite a prolonged or no response. I still failed in asking questions or clarifying information I was not
certain about with my group, during the meetings. Therefore, causing me to lose time with my work and stressing about my uncertainties. I did not take
the time to think about any questions or comments before group meetings, as well as ask for help. I thought that communicating over text messages
would be easy,

Group Project Reflection
Throughout my years in graduate school, I found myself with many opportunities to work on group projects. I always found these projects to be a
rewarding experience because it was not only an opportunity to contribute my experience and ideas to the project but also listen to experience and
ideas of my teammates. However, working on a group project also meant making sure to examine the work of my teammates and vice–versa. So for
each group assignment, I always made sure to follow certain guidelines I laid out for myself in order to get the assignment completed.
1. Ask questions – especially if I needed a teammate to clarify what they needed from me or if I not sure about what they wrote.
2. Provide thoughtful suggestions on the work of my

Reflection on Group Project Perfomance Essay
1. Describe and explain the characteristics of effective groups. What are some of the characteristics of ineffective groups? There are a few key
features common in a group regardless if it is an effective to ineffective group atmosphere, communication, leadership, decision making, and criticism.
How these features are handled will in fact decide if a group is effective or ineffective. In an effective group the atmosphere is informal, engaging,
relaxed, open, and comfortable. An ineffective group will be formal, disengaged, tense, guarded, intimidating, and stiff. Communication in an effective
group is open and honest, everyone can speak. In an ineffective group communication is dominated by only a few people and is selective ... Show more

I can read people and can provide a boost of morale be it a joke, a pat on the back, a unique outlook on the issue at hand that can start a brainstorming
session, or just even a smile and a nod to someone that is struggling.
4. What situations within groups do you have trouble with, and why? How do you feel when you are faced with them? How would you like to
handle them? The main situations that I have issues with in groups are being negative and mean to someone, because others think their ideas are
stupid or impractical, a leader that believes that they are the law and that what they say is the way it will be and that they will not be open to any
other options. Also, another situation that I have trouble with is a group that is uptight and to focused on the task that everyone is so uncomfortable
in the environment. When I am in these situations I start to question if it is worth putting up with this behavior and if I were to stand up to the
situation if it would even make a difference. In the situation with someone being mean and negative to a person I would like to call the person out
on their actions, ask them why do they feel it is necessary to act the way they are and how it is productive to the group? In the situation with the
leader thinking they are a dictator I would like to simply ask them why they are not open to anyone else's ideas and say that a team is more than one
person. And finally with an uptight and uncomfortable group I would simply like to make

Virtual Group Project
After we finished the actual group project, we started our virtual assignment with a new group. We had one same virtual group assignment page on
blackboard and we saw each group member's name. At the first time I saw these names, I wanted to recognize some familiar names. Although we
were not able to meet each other, I still wanted to see and check my impression to those familiar names in order to define them. There were many
differences between actual and virtual group project no matter when we communicate or do the job. So it had more challenges in this situation which is
that we could meet face–to–face. Compared to my face–to–face group, there were more asynchronous messages in my virtual group. Although we used
many electronic devise as... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And sometimes we cannot focus on the assignment at same time time due to different time schedule. But we have conquered these problem. First,
everyone added their name at the cover page when they edit the paper so that means we can know who had contributed and who had not. Then we
separated to edit the paper in two part in order to coordinate everyone's schedule. We had finished this virtual assignment and I think the most
necessary advice is that everyone should contribute to their group project otherwise it is easy to create group thinking. That is because people
will not meet and they always do not know each other, as a consequence people will not pay much attention to the project. Then people might
always follow one people who is the leader or more responsible than others. Also we had done one small virtual group activity in class, we have
separated into few groups with our classmates to accomplish some topic. Because of the time limit we did not communicate to much so that we did
not finished all the tasks as well. When we knew which group that we belong to, every leave their contact information at almost the same time, but I
did not see on time. So I have lost track with my group member and they did not check out my information again. As a result, I cheated and ask my
group member face to face, and that shared the Google doc with

Group Project Reflection
In my undergraduate work, almost all of my classes that were directly related to my major required at the least one group project. In the beginning
this was not something I was very fond of mostly because I had some bad experiences when it came to working with others on projects. Usually it
was the problem of people not pulling their own weight, and doing their parts to help with the tasks. When it came time to have the assignment
complete it was even harder to give a grade to those people. I did not want to be the guy who caused someone to throw someone under the bus.
However, after I thought about it, I did want to be that guy because in the real world on a work project if there was someone who did not pull their
weight in the job projects would not be successful. So, when it came time for grades, I was always honest, and usually if a person did not do their
part I told it how it was.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I would always stress myself out more than necessary because I was independent in getting jobs done, and did not feel the need to get others ideas.
Once I started to realize getting help from others who work right next to me on projects and finding out their ideas, and letting them have some of
the responsibilities in helping me create successful tasks, my life became a whole lot easier. The work load is not as hard, and work tasks that would
seem in the beginning so hard to figure out, and at times feel like a huge burden, had become less difficult. I think there are times when projects can
get done on my own, without a problem. However, since I have this new–found strength of asking others for help, and getting them on board with
completing the big jobs I have a lot more trust in others work ethic, and not having as much stress on

Group Analysis Project
In my small group for the film project analysis project I worked with four other students, Deonte, Frank, Osama, and Stephen. The specific purpose
that we came together for was to analyse the film, Oz, The Great and Powerful and identify the different properties of communication in the film and
how they were used. We held our group meetings after class three times and once before class. Our group had no clear leader, and instead each
member was self–directed, and instead our group came to a general consensus at each meeting as to how tasks should be divided and what should be
done before the next meeting. While there were significant setbacks to our group's progress, aside from one anomaly our group worked well together
and had only one major conflict. During our first meeting, we introduced ourselves, established our channels of communication, and determined the
medium for presenting our group project. Our first meeting combined the opening and feedforward stages of the five small group stages. We decided to
communicate through both group text and email, that way we would have multiple ways to communicate to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Osama was the information giver, distributing the movie to each group member, and clarifying bits of the movie's plot and characters. Stephen was
the energizer, as he tended to be the person who kept us focused on the project when we started to drift of topic. I was the procedural technician for
the group, creating the Google Slides document, connecting everyone to the document so everyone could work on it, and getting the clips from the
movie together for the presentation. Deonte often played the role of recorder, as he wrote most of the group's progress reports and wrote most of the
notes about who was doing what task. We all played the role of initiator–contributor, as everyone came up with at least one idea for topics or how to

A large amount of money is spent on Federal IT projects....
A large amount of money is spent on Federal IT projects. According to the Standish Group report, "from 2003 to 2012 only 6% of the federal IT
projects with over 10 million dollars of labor cost were successful." 52% of them were either delayed, went over budget or did not meet user
expectations." "The remaining 41% of the IT projects were abandoned or started from scratch." HealthCare.gov is one of the many failed projects.
Initially HealthCare.gov was contracted to CGI Federal. A large IT project of this scale is bound to have its problems. There was over 55 contractors
managing this project. There was 319 million dollars spent on HealthCare.gov. The US government estimated that 7 million people in America are

For example, "Its performance on Ontario, Canada's health–care medical registry for diabetes sufferers was so poor that officials ditched the $46.2
million contract after three years of missed deadlines," the Washington Examiner reported. Also, CGI Federal was in charge of state health
exchange websites for Colorado, Vermont and Hawaii which, ended up facing many website problems. Another important factor, in the planning
phase, is defining the goals of the project and insuring they are realistic goals given the projects budget and time constraints. After, the goals are
defined it is very important that everyone on the project team knows and understands the goals. It should be everyone's responsibility regardless of
the task they are performing on the project. On HealthCare.Gov there was not a clear defined goal. Everyone kind of had their own agenda. There
were many risk involved with the project. First, the project did have a main person in charge or a group that had the main authority to communicate
all information relating the project and take necessary steps to control scope, risk, cost and requirements of the project. Another risk was the time
completion of the project which, was not very realistic given the size of the project and requirements. The October 1 deadline release put lots of
pressure on the team to complete the project on time and at any cost. Third, the development method chosen for the project was agile approach which,

What Can You Keep The Table, Company, And A Group Project?
What can you bring to the table, company, and to a group project? Can you provide the necessary tools to be successful in your current company?
Working in groups is necessary at any company. Being able to get along with your coworkers is another key essential to being accepted by your
company. We will encounter people who we can get along with and then there will be those people that we cannot ever work with. However, that is
life, working for companies. People are often hired by what they can bring to the company and not by if they can get along with everyone. Companies
must hire people by what is best for business, because without the business you have no company.

Group Behavior
No matter where you work, you will have to deal with group behavior. In any job–working environment, you have to deal with many different types of
people. People who have different backgrounds, different viewpoints than you. One thing you will always deal with is communication. You must have
communication to be able to do your job. How you get communication depends on whom you are working with. As with any group of employees, you
will have many different types of people. At my current company, communication was at an all–time low. No one speaks to each other; no one was
willing to help the other person out when they needed help. It was terrible place to work especially if you were new. New people were treated

BRC: ACADEMIC PAPER
Abstract:
Communication is widely recognised in the literature as being important to modern management. In the case of the BRC project, communication was
often an issue, and was relatively poor for the author's project team. This paper analyses the role of communication in team building and group
dynamics, in order to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Privman et al (2013, p. 33) refers to these dynamics as 'us versus them', and demonstrates that they can act to reduce performance, creating conflicting
goals and responsibilities. This could have been a problem for the project, as two members of the team already knew each other, and hence tended to
support each other's opinions and positions creating something of a split in the team. The existence of such conflicts increases the importance of
communication, and particularly the value of emotional intelligence in said conversation. Specifically, team members can only overcome such
informal network based conflicts through communication based on putting aside the differences between groups and encouraging more effective
communication behaviour designed to form an overall group (Sigmar et al, 2012, p. 301). The existence of higher levels of emotional intelligence and
their application to the case of the BRC project would have been very useful in overcoming the issues encountered, and ensuring high levels of overall
performance.
Another important factor which is linked to the development of emotional intelligence is the development of specific team working and team based
communication skills. These are vital for effective team performance, as all teams need individuals who will act to drive communication amongst team

Personal Narrative: My Group Project
Group project, as defined by the Business Dictionary: A collection of individuals that come together to achieve a stated objective. Group project, as
previously defined by myself: a dreadful situation that I would try to avoid as much as humanly possible. I've always been an independent person–I
would always prefer getting things done completely by myself with as little human contact as possible, mostly due to my shyness. This all changed
during my sophomore year. My English teacher had purposely paired up the groups for our upcoming book projects with people that never speak to
each other in class. She wanted us to expand our horizons and get to know new people, but it might as well have been a death sentence to me. I

Do group projects help you or goes wrong . Group project is when your teacher gets you into a group with other people, and give you a topic and
you have to make a project about it . Now sometime people don't like a group project mostly because of the person in their group. I'm going to
explain why it's more better to do a group project . First is that group project can help you out, if you were by yourself it would take you more time
to get all the information and finish it . By you have people in your group they can help you gather all the ideas . Mostly the teacher picks the

A Group Project
I never have been great in group project because coordinating everything we all have to do is difficult. Simply finding a meeting time that
everyone can attend is difficult and finding time for everyone to sit down and work can be a challenge. Everyone's schedule is different, and each
person has other responsibilities, so adding another task can be a problem. One person may have an exam due on that day, another person may
have to work, and someone else may just have to take care of family business. My group name is Smooth Criminal, and the members of my group
are Christ Basttista, Meagan Martinez, Karissa Helmberger, and Noah Adams. I met with my group two times, but it was very handsome. We were
there all of us and supporting each other on what we were doing, and we were very happy to work as a team group. My role in the group was to
watch the video carefully, and came up with the non–verbal communication scene of the movie. The first meeting with my group was to watch the
movie all together, and each of us was supposed to bring his opinion about the movie. I showed my contribution by being on that two days meeting,
and I was always on time. Also, I contribute on non–verbal communication because it seems to be less hard to me. I watched the movie four times
again by myself before we met with the group for the second time. I watched it many times because I was making sure that I understand the entire
non–verbal communication scene between teacher and student. The second

The Pro-Life Movement: Group Project Analysis
Group projects can go one of two ways: you end up becoming close with your members as you power through the assignment or you end up feeling an
enormous amount of contempt towards them that sprouts from their apparent incompetence. I'm very glad to say that I enjoyed working with my
group members. They weren't incompetent at all and were actual really nice to do this assignment with. Our presentation started off by giving a brief
history on the Pro–Life movement and its beginnings. This section helped to create a foundation for what we talked about. It was helpful to discuss
how far the movement has come. It was also important to share what began the initial push. This was helpful for our group experience because we

How My Leadership Project Went And The Pros And Cons Of...
Within this paper, I will evaluate myself and the rest of my group on how overall our leadership project went and the pros and cons of each member
within my group. The members of my group include myself, Michael Williams, Divya Reitz, Zack Benner, and Travis Geidroc. Reviewing and looking
at how well each student worked individually will help show where things went wrong or went well throughout the planning of the leadership project.
Not only will I evaluate each student in my group, but I also will review our full value contract and seeing how well we followed it. The last thing
that will be in this paper is the parts of the project and the actions of others that I believe went well and the parts that I believe did not go as I thought

the overall group and ability to create a successful program.
How Well your Group Met your FVC
I believe that our group collectively did not meet our full value contract guidelines overall throughout the semester as we worked on the project.
Even though we did follow the full value contract guidelines at times, I believe that there were ups and downs and it took time to get on the same
level. As we discussed in class, there are stages for new groups and after we all established these rules and started meeting up it started to become
noticeable who was meeting these guidelines and who

Group Project
Problems occur and come around in our day to day life, and learning how to solve them is a crucial technique students need to learn. Group projects will
teach students how to work things out with each other. When these students were little, they usually went right to the teacher when a problem
presented itself. Through group projects, students will learn how to solve certain problems with their peers without bringing someone else into it. Also,
students will collaborate with the peers around them and figure out confusing parts within the project itself or the directions before asking. These
students can also brainstorm ideas and talk and/or review with each other on how to solve the problem together. Learning how to solve problems is not

One key function students will learn is how to be a superior communicator. Having students work together will help them thrive in learning how to
communicate. Students will learn how to reach out to people and ask for help, when they need to. Having this ability will come in valuable use when
students have an actual job. Also, they will learn how to get feedback and obtain constructive criticism. Group projects teach students how to work
well with each other too. In the group, students will have to pull their own weight, and not rely on others to do your part. Everyone needs to work
together and productively in order to do the best they can. Also, these types of projects help students promote outstanding people skills and help them
learn how to deal with difficult people.
Mattie J.T Stepanek once said 'Unity is strength... when there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved." Working together
promotes good teamwork and more skillful students. Allowing students to work in groups for projects gives them the chance learn how to problem
solve, develop much needed skills, and prepares them for the real world. Overall, allowing students to work in groups promotes better learning and a

High School Group Project Analysis
Meeting up with my group for the collaborative library project was a very interesting project. In high school, my English teacher did not assign us
many projects where we were in groups and everyone had to put in effort to get the project completed. When we did has group projects, in high
school, many students did not hold up there end of the bargain. Usually I am not someone who particularly likes working in groups because I feel as
though some people can slack off and not do their part of the assignment to the best of their ability. That is the reason why I thought that was how this
group project would be. After doing this project with my group members, it changed my whole view on group assignments. I expected for this group

The first time I met with my group I was impressed. Everyone was so dedicated to making sure our project was well written and thoroughly
detailed. Kaiyah was the typist in our group, she was so determined to get the job done and she knew she had a lot of weight on her shoulders to
get everything put together and turned in on time. In my high school English class, by many people were not motivated therefore I was very
impressed to see someone just as dedicated to succeeding as me. I can recall the first time our group met up Kaiyah was so straight forward and
cut straight to the point. She said, "Okay, guys so who wants what numbers of this assignment?" I replied, "Since I already started on number 7, I
would like number 7 & since number 9 interest me, I would like number 9, if that is okay with everyone." The rest of my group, Wyman, Ashley
and Aliah were fine with my choices. I realized the three of them were kind of quiet and standoff so I said, "What numbers would you all like?"
Wyman responded with, "Is it okay if I do numbers 4 and 10?" Everyone was okay with his choices. Ashley said, "Is everyone okay with me doing
numbers 1 and 3?" We all said, "Yes, that's fine." Aliah said, "So Kaiyah, is it

Group Project
Group Projects are quite common in Fairfax County schools today. However, many people argue that students should only work on individual
projects because group members may not work well together, and cannot get any work done. They also believe that the lazy students leech off of
the ones with good work ethics. At the same time, though, others argue that working in groups helps students who do poorly in school become
successful. I personally believe that group projects are great for a variety of reasons, especially because they lower stress levels, help struggling
students learn what to do in individual projects, and allow students to develop good social skills. First of all, working in groups can help lower
stress levels for students. If someone is working in a group of three or four people, then even if it's a big project, it'll be much easier to complete on
time. I'm not implying that only a portion of the group does any work, and the others take credit for their work, but on the contrary; if the workload is
evenly distributed between the members of a particular group, each member will still be accountable for doing their share. This means that although
talented students would receive the same respect and credit as the "ungifted" students, each member would need to put effort in.... Show more content

Once a student has worked on a few group projects, they will already have some experience with dealing with other people, and be able work with
others more efficiently in the future. Thus, group productivity would increase over time, and reflect in each student's grade. In addition, students would
understand each other better. They would be aware of each other's opinions and methods, and adjust their own strategies to help accommodate for their
group members. Learning how to deal with others is a vital skill in life, no matter which profession someone

Project Management Process Groups and the Six Questions in...
Mapping the six (6) questions to basic Process Groups of the PMBOK methodology.
According to Wysocki (2012, p.25) 'Project management is a set of tools, templates, and processes designed to answer the following six questions:
What business situation is being addressed by this project? What do you need to do? What will you do? How will you do it? How will you know you
did it? How well did you do it?'
Wysocki (2012, p.64) also added that; 'In addition to answering the six questions that a valid project management methodology must answer, whatever
project management life cycle model you use must contain all of the following Process Groups; Scoping (PMI calls the Initiation), Planning, Launching
(PMI calls the Execution), Monitoring & ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Closing process group collates all deliverables and closes all sub–process when a project is adjudged completed. Contracts and procurements,
manpower engaged, work–in–progress close out and so many other project administrative supports are rounded up here. At this stage, the final product
derived from the project is presented to the client according to specifications. The question of "how well did you do?" will be answered when client
approves of the output, asset/output gets installed, audit tests post–implementation status and a final report submitted. In NLNG for example, IT
projects are closed with a report and a "go–live" activity.
In conclusion, the questions of what business situation to address and what needs to be done are critical success factors to any project. The Project
Charter and Preliminary statements derive from such questions and are therefore essential to how a project plan is developed with achievable
objectives, what resources are required to launch/execute the project, how to monitor and control parameters and when to identify project ending and
close out. Wysocki (2012, p.9) aptly captures this in his definition of project as; 'a sequence of finite dependent activities whose successful completion
results in the delivery of the expected business value that validated doing the business'. Therefore,

Nursing Group Project Analysis
This week I would like to discuss about a past decision made for the group project on one of my nursing class. There was a total of six people in
our group for our group project. Before getting together as a group we analyzed the group project and distributed the task to all members of the group
equally. Every one of us were given sufficient time to accomplish the work we were assigned for. We communicated through email and text messages.
When everyone had finished their part we met in a group to discuss the group project. At the beginning of the group project, unilateral decision making
was involved. One member in our group didn't want to consider other group member's perception. Her loud and dominating voice dominated other
member's idea.

Group Project
Word Count:
Two heads are better than one. I very strongly agree with the subject of teachers assigning group projects for many reasons. First, assigning group
projects allow students to receive extra help. Second, it gives students an opportunity to compare their answers. Last, I agree with group projects
because of a past experience of doing an egg drop experiment in science class. As can be seen, I feel that group activities are a much more
sufficient way to learn and get involved. First of all, group assignments are a very good way for students to benefit from the mount of extra help
that it provides. On a personal level I fell that group projects are a very effective for students that need the help. For example, some students really
need the help, but are too shy to speak up. By being put in a group in class for an activity or project the will most definitely receive the help that much
need. I think that group activities are most definitely the best alternative for children who need help. Not only do group projects benefit the students it
also take the stress off of the teachers in an abundance of ways. The most important way is that it really helping the children. After all, extra help can

Students being able to compare their answers confirms that are doing the assignment correct which results in a better grade. Improving the student's
grades will do many things. One it makes the students feel better about themselves. Two it will brighten the student's future. Three if more people are
happy about their grades then it creates a much brighter and happier learning environment. Not knowing if they are doing the work right or not
knowing if their grades are good can be very stressful for a student. By being able to compare their answer it will lift the stress off of that student. All

Working With A Group Project
When I first find out that there's a group project, I wanted to work with people that I know are responsible, capable of doing the assignments,
respectful, and don't procrastinate. I did not want to work with negative people at all I've learned from past group presentation experience, so I
quickly ask Carolyn, Britney and Adina if they want to work together, they agreed and that's how we formed ourgroup but, we still needed to add one
additional person for our group. The second time we meet up in class the other group members had already ask two of our classmates to join our
group so Alexia and Wendy came along. I was excited about everyone that's in our group because, I know that they're all are capable of getting the
assignments and project done on time and they are very respectful. We were assigned by the professor to come up with a group contract, I have
never done any group contract before so I was happy with the assignment. We all decide that in order for us to have a positive group experience we
would have to follow the contract we'll of course follow the contract and we came up with things that we all agreed on. We add on the contract that
"everyone will keep their feelings in check and keep group members informed of how things are going. No one is expected to give full disclosure of
their situation but a general advising that something is going on is expected. Respect each other and don 't be afraid to ask for help. On the second
meeting we also came up with a

Group Project Research Paper
Group projects are horrible and just give the opportunity for laziness. I have never, ever liked group projects. Group projects are the worst in my
school experience because some people want to do all of the work, some members do not contribute to the project, and some students lack the
courage to talk to anyone. Therefore, I have never enjoyed group projects as well as many others. For one, many students do all or most of the work.
Those students strive to get finished faster. Sometimes, they are overbearing on the rest of the group. These students think they can do the project finer
than anyone else in the group, which is annoying. In summary, in group projects there is always that one person who wants to do all or most of the work;

This case was not an exception. While each member of the team has worked hard to maintain communication and work as a team there have been
obstacles. The group having no prior experience with the work quality habits or methods of the others in the group along with not all of us having the
same – or similar – base knowledge about the material made for some difficulties. Compounding this is the very reason a lot of us are taking online
courses, our professional and personal lives. We have one member of the group who is moving across several states which makes it difficult for them,
though they have been extremely motivated and successful in task completion. I have been transitioning from working night shift to day shift while
training a new staff member and dealing with a major predatory investigation that has resulted in long, odd working hours. Finally we all do our
school work on different schedules as our other lives allow which can hinder communication and series task completion. The group however has been

Group Immigration Project
What have you gained/learned from this process thus far? The needs assessment report has been a great learning experience since the first day of the
assignment due to the group setting of the project and the immigration learning topic. From the process, so far I have gained team work collaboration
through technology as none of the team members live near each other. I have learned how to communicate electronically and we have found the
perfect method for everyone to be able to participate. In regards to our group immigration topic, through the research done for the proposal I have
learned the many ways the community offers language assistance for all ages. The community aids all immigrants no matter their primary language,
and the assistance is easily obtainable. For youth, the school districts offer testing level classes for all immigrant children to be able to catch up and be

what we agreed on. Another group challenge we experienced was putting the first proposal together as we all have different methods of writing and

Project Management Process Group And Network Tunnel Project
This week was the introductory week. It was a bit overwhelming with all of the information but I have accessed blackboard course outline and course
materials. I started reading Channel Tunnel Project case study as part of this week course material. It was an enormously complicated project
involving two languages, two governments, numerous subcontractors, and a syndicate of 220 banks which huge cost overruns and delays had severely
eroded stakeholder confidence. I believe if more effective communication and teamwork, and more importantly, scope change control system had been
in place, those huge claims due to cost overruns and schedule delays wouldn't have happened. I have also started reading chapter 3 of PMBOK
standard 5th edition (PMI,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
WEEK 2 The focus of the learning material this week is to understand the process and issues involved with handover and commissioning of the project.
Throughout the readings and lesson materials, I realized the proper commissioning of building services is crucial to ensure the correct operation of the
system and its associated building services plant. It affects both the effectiveness and efficiency of building services and hence the comfort of
occupants, and the environmental and financial costs of maintaining it. It is worth mentioning that good commissioning of building services requires
specialist skills and knowledge. It also requires an early input in the life of a project, when key decisions relating to the construction process are taken
which demands a proper commissioning management. The main objective of commissioning management is to manage the overall pre–commissioning
and commissioning activities, including programming and co–ordination of energizing the installation, to achieve the project completion date. Based on
what I have learnt from the heavy construction projects that I have been involved so far, the key requirements to successfully commission a building,
service or product can be summarized as follows: There should be a sufficient time to complete the pre–commissioning and commissioning activities. A
commissioning management team should be formed early in the design and construction process to advise on

Cuse Eats: Group Project Analysis
My project involves the group CUSE Eats. Our events have started, which is nice because we finally have the opportunity to dive in and start our
projects. We have three smaller projects that everyone can be a part of which consist of doing the Try Me dinners in the dining hall where we let
student sample certain foods, the apple NY Crunch day and Walktober which is the Monday walk. I think overall we have finally started to get how
the projects work and what we should be doing. At first, we struggled with implementing the Try Me dinner's and passing out samples in the dining
halls because the managers we had to report to were very confused and didn't have the supplies we needed ready. Even though we encountered this

Analysis Of Project Management Process Group
Analysis
One thing to keep in mind is that as each of these processes are being done; it could bring new insights into the project which may require some of the
previous created project documents to be updated. The processes in the Planning Process Group may be repeated or re–addressed several times as the
project progresses. It is also important to note that the outputs of certain processes serve as inputs to other processes within the Planning Process
Group. Among all the Process Groups within the project management process, the Planning Process Group contains the most processes. This portrays
the significance of this Process Group in respect to the project as a whole. All of these processes work in conjunction to make up the whole Project
Management Plan.
The risks associated with not properly addressing the key elements will ultimately result in the project failing. The PMBOK lists 9 key elements of a
project plan. In this section, we will look at the associated risks if the project manager fails to address any of these.
Key Element 1 – Scope. The most common risk associated here is scope creep, or the continued addition of new aspects to the scope. Scope creep can
come from both external stakeholders and internally from well–intentioned project team members. While the team members may have good intentions
with looking to improve a certain deliverable, this is dangerous because it can cause a project to slip months behind. These internally generated changes
may bring

My Participation In A Group Project: Lord Of The Flies
I have participated in a project that failed. I have been involved in group projects numerous times since 5th grade; this project was my first and last

assignment, they act as if they contributed. In the other hand, I have also participated in a group I enjoyed working with from the beginning to the end.
A long time ago, I participated in a group project in 8th grade. Our teacher divided my classmates and me into groups. The assignment was to read a

It will definitely make the process of writing the paper easier for all of us. I still won't be able to attend any in person meetings.
I propose a goal for the next five or six days: By Sunday, June 21, everyone should have at minimum completed the assessments and understand what
the assignment is. Everyone should post that they have completed these and their initial impressions on what are some of Iora's problems. . .
By Wednesday, everyone should have time to flesh out their initial thoughts on which five assessments they feel would be most helpful for the
company and post, at minimum, a brief paragraph on each of their preferred assessments, arguing what issue in Iora they feel it can address and their
logic behind it.
At the online meeting on Thursday at 9:00PM, we can have a face–to–face real time discussion about what we have posted. Then we can further
cement our ideas for the final draft of the paper. At that time, we can evaluate our positions, and make further plans from there.
Also, I propose that instead of having things posted by 5:00 PM, we should have until 10:00PM. Having something due at 5PM is basically saying to
have something due the day before. Some people have to work and don't even get off until 6:00PM, making it fairly difficult to turn in anything of merit

Working in a group might be an uncertainty for many individuals who feel that they put in more effort than some peers. However, I believe working in groups has the highest potential. Group projects help students develop and improve a significant amount of skills that can be used in the professional world. I've always been an independent worker and haven't relied on others to do work. However, when you can bring in a mindset full of independent workers a group project is a breeze. Group projects open a door for students to collaborate and work cohesively. Having members in the group that care about the work they're going to present is critical, a group project cannot be done by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. My Failures During My Group Project Another failure that I faced during this class was working with my group project. I am not used to having group projects but whenever I did have them, I always worked with people I knew well. I knew I had to try my best and put effort in communicating more with my group members. Although, I tried my best to communicate with others, despite a prolonged or no response. I still failed in asking questions or clarifying information I was not certain about with my group, during the meetings. Therefore, causing me to lose time with my work and stressing about my uncertainties. I did not take the time to think about any questions or comments before group meetings, as well as ask for help. • 7. Group Project Reflection Throughout my years in graduate school, I found myself with many opportunities to work on group projects. I always found these projects to be a rewarding experience because it was not only an opportunity to contribute my experience and ideas to the project but also listen to experience and ideas of my teammates. However, working on a group project also meant making sure to examine the work of my teammates and vice–versa. So for each group assignment, I always made sure to follow certain guidelines I laid out for myself in order to get the assignment completed. 1. Ask questions – especially if I needed a teammate to clarify what they needed from me or if I not sure about what they wrote. 2. Provide thoughtful suggestions on the work of my ... • 8. Reflection on Group Project Perfomance Essay 1. Describe and explain the characteristics of effective groups. What are some of the characteristics of ineffective groups? There are a few key features common in a group regardless if it is an effective to ineffective group atmosphere, communication, leadership, decision making, and criticism. How these features are handled will in fact decide if a group is effective or ineffective. In an effective group the atmosphere is informal, engaging, relaxed, open, and comfortable. An ineffective group will be formal, disengaged, tense, guarded, intimidating, and stiff. Communication in an effective group is open and honest, everyone can speak. In an ineffective group communication is dominated by only a few people and is selective ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I can read people and can provide a boost of morale be it a joke, a pat on the back, a unique outlook on the issue at hand that can start a brainstorming session, or just even a smile and a nod to someone that is struggling. 4. What situations within groups do you have trouble with, and why? How do you feel when you are faced with them? How would you like to handle them? The main situations that I have issues with in groups are being negative and mean to someone, because others think their ideas are stupid or impractical, a leader that believes that they are the law and that what they say is the way it will be and that they will not be open to any other options. Also, another situation that I have trouble with is a group that is uptight and to focused on the task that everyone is so uncomfortable in the environment. When I am in these situations I start to question if it is worth putting up with this behavior and if I were to stand up to the situation if it would even make a difference. In the situation with someone being mean and negative to a person I would like to call the person out on their actions, ask them why do they feel it is necessary to act the way they are and how it is productive to the group? In the situation with the leader thinking they are a dictator I would like to simply ask them why they are not open to anyone else's ideas and say that a team is more than one person. And finally with an uptight and uncomfortable group I would simply like to make ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Virtual Group Project After we finished the actual group project, we started our virtual assignment with a new group. We had one same virtual group assignment page on blackboard and we saw each group member's name. At the first time I saw these names, I wanted to recognize some familiar names. Although we were not able to meet each other, I still wanted to see and check my impression to those familiar names in order to define them. There were many differences between actual and virtual group project no matter when we communicate or do the job. So it had more challenges in this situation which is that we could meet face–to–face. And sometimes we cannot focus on the assignment at same time time due to different time schedule. But we have conquered these problem. First, everyone added their name at the cover page when they edit the paper so that means we can know who had contributed and who had not. Then we separated to edit the paper in two part in order to coordinate everyone's schedule. We had finished this virtual assignment and I think the most necessary advice is that everyone should contribute to their group project otherwise it is easy to create group thinking. That is because people will not meet and they always do not know each other, as a consequence people will not pay much attention to the project. Then people might always follow one people who is the leader or more responsible than others. Also we had done one small virtual group activity in class, we have separated into few groups with our classmates to accomplish some topic. Because of the time limit we did not communicate to much so that we did not finished all the tasks as well. When we knew which group that we belong to, every leave their contact information at almost the same time, but I did not see on time. So I have lost track with my group member and they did not check out my information again. As a result, I cheated and ask my group member face to face, and that shared the Google doc with ... • 10. Group Project Reflection In my undergraduate work, almost all of my classes that were directly related to my major required at the least one group project. In the beginning this was not something I was very fond of mostly because I had some bad experiences when it came to working with others on projects. Usually it was the problem of people not pulling their own weight, and doing their parts to help with the tasks. When it came time to have the assignment complete it was even harder to give a grade to those people. I did not want to be the guy who caused someone to throw someone under the bus. However, after I thought about it, I did want to be that guy because in the real world on a work project if there was someone who did not pull their weight in the job projects would not be successful. So, when it came time for grades, I was always honest, and usually if a person did not do their part I told it how it was.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Once I started to realize getting help from others who work right next to me on projects and finding out their ideas, and letting them have some of the responsibilities in helping me create successful tasks, my life became a whole lot easier. The work load is not as hard, and work tasks that would seem in the beginning so hard to figure out, and at times feel like a huge burden, had become less difficult. I think there are times when projects can get done on my own, without a problem. However, since I have this new–found strength of asking others for help, and getting them on board with completing the big jobs I have a lot more trust in others work ethic, and not having as much stress on ... • 11. Group Analysis Project In my small group for the film project analysis project I worked with four other students, Deonte, Frank, Osama, and Stephen. The specific purpose that we came together for was to analyse the film, Oz, The Great and Powerful and identify the different properties of communication in the film and how they were used. We held our group meetings after class three times and once before class. Our group had no clear leader, and instead each member was self–directed, and instead our group came to a general consensus at each meeting as to how tasks should be divided and what should be done before the next meeting. While there were significant setbacks to our group's progress, aside from one anomaly our group worked well together and had only one major conflict. During our first meeting, we introduced ourselves, established our channels of communication, and determined the medium for presenting our group project. Our first meeting combined the opening and feedforward stages of the five small group stages. We decided to communicate through both group text and email, that way we would have multiple ways to communicate to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I was the procedural technician for the group, creating the Google Slides document, connecting everyone to the document so everyone could work on it, and getting the clips from the movie together for the presentation. According to the Standish Group report, "from 2003 to 2012 only 6% of the federal IT projects with over 10 million dollars of labor cost were successful." 52% of them were either delayed, went over budget or did not meet user expectations." "The remaining 41% of the IT projects were abandoned or started from scratch." HealthCare.gov is one of the many failed projects. Initially HealthCare.gov was contracted to CGI Federal. Also, CGI Federal was in charge of state health exchange websites for Colorado, Vermont and Hawaii which, ended up facing many website problems. Another important factor, in the planning phase, is defining the goals of the project and insuring they are realistic goals given the projects budget and time constraints. After, the goals are defined it is very important that everyone on the project team knows and understands the goals. It should be everyone's responsibility regardless of the task they are performing on the project. On HealthCare.Gov there was not a clear defined goal. Everyone kind of had their own agenda. There were many risk involved with the project. First, the project did have a main person in charge or a group that had the main authority to communicate all information relating the project and take necessary steps to control scope, risk, cost and requirements of the project. Another risk was the time completion of the project which, was not very realistic given the size of the project and requirements. The October 1 deadline release put lots of pressure on the team to complete the project on time and at any cost. Third, the development method chosen for the project was agile approach which, did ... • 13. What Can You Keep The Table, Company, And A Group Project? What can you bring to the table, company, and to a group project? Can you provide the necessary tools to be successful in your current company? Working in groups is necessary at any company. Being able to get along with your coworkers is another key essential to being accepted by your company. We will encounter people who we can get along with and then there will be those people that we cannot ever work with. However, that is life, working for companies. People are often hired by what they can bring to the company and not by if they can get along with everyone. Companies must hire people by what is best for business, because without the business you have no company. Keywords: working, life, groups, people Group Behavior No matter where you work, you will have to deal with group behavior. In any job–working environment, you have to deal with many different types of people. People who have different backgrounds, different viewpoints than you. One thing you will always deal with is communication. You must have communication to be able to do your job. How you get communication depends on whom you are working with. As with any group of employees, you will have many different types of people. At my current company, communication was at an all–time low. No one speaks to each other; no one was willing to help the other person out when they needed help. It was terrible place to work especially if you were new. New people were treated ... Privman et al (2013, p. 33) refers to these dynamics as 'us versus them', and demonstrates that they can act to reduce performance, creating conflicting goals and responsibilities. This could have been a problem for the project, as two members of the team already knew each other, and hence tended to support each other's opinions and positions creating something of a split in the team. The existence of such conflicts increases the importance of communication, and particularly the value of emotional intelligence in said conversation. Specifically, team members can only overcome such informal network based conflicts through communication based on putting aside the differences between groups and encouraging more effective communication behaviour designed to form an overall group (Sigmar et al, 2012, p. 301). The existence of higher levels of emotional intelligence and their application to the case of the BRC project would have been very useful in overcoming the issues encountered, and ensuring high levels of overall performance. Another important factor which is linked to the development of emotional intelligence is the development of specific team working and team based communication skills. These are vital for effective team performance, as all teams need individuals who will act to drive communication amongst team

First is that group project can help you out, if you were by yourself it would take you more time to get all the information and finish it . By you have people in your group they can help you gather all the ideas . Mostly the teacher picks the partners for you, and it kinda sucks, but if you was in a group with all your friends, you wouldn't finish the project you would of been there talking and if ... • 23. A Group Project I never have been great in group project because coordinating everything we all have to do is difficult. Simply finding a meeting time that everyone can attend is difficult and finding time for everyone to sit down and work can be a challenge. Everyone's schedule is different, and each person has other responsibilities, so adding another task can be a problem. One person may have an exam due on that day, another person may have to work, and someone else may just have to take care of family business. My group name is Smooth Criminal, and the members of my group are Christ Basttista, Meagan Martinez, Karissa Helmberger, and Noah Adams. I met with my group two times, but it was very handsome. We were there all of us and supporting each other on what we were doing, and we were very happy to work as a team group. My role in the group was to watch the video carefully, and came up with the non–verbal communication scene of the movie. The first meeting with my group was to watch the movie all together, and each of us was supposed to bring his opinion about the movie. I showed my contribution by being on that two days meeting, and I was always on time. Also, I contribute on non–verbal communication because it seems to be less hard to me. I watched the movie four times again by myself before we met with the group for the second time. I watched it many times because I was making sure that I understand the entire non–verbal communication scene between teacher and student. The second ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Pro-Life Movement: Group Project Analysis Group projects can go one of two ways: you end up becoming close with your members as you power through the assignment or you end up feeling an enormous amount of contempt towards them that sprouts from their apparent incompetence. I'm very glad to say that I enjoyed working with my group members. They weren't incompetent at all and were actual really nice to do this assignment with. Our presentation started off by giving a brief history on the Pro–Life movement and its beginnings. This section helped to create a foundation for what we talked about. It was helpful to discuss how far the movement has come. It was also important to share what began the initial push. Group projects will teach students how to work things out with each other. When these students were little, they usually went right to the teacher when a problem presented itself. Through group projects, students will learn how to solve certain problems with their peers without bringing someone else into it. • 32. Group Project Group Projects are quite common in Fairfax County schools today. However, many people argue that students should only work on individual projects because group members may not work well together, and cannot get any work done. They also believe that the lazy students leech off of the ones with good work ethics. At the same time, though, others argue that working in groups helps students who do poorly in school become successful. I personally believe that group projects are great for a variety of reasons, especially because they lower stress levels, help struggling students learn what to do in individual projects, and allow students to develop good social skills. First of all, working in groups can help lower stress levels for students. If someone is working in a group of three or four people, then even if it's a big project, it'll be much easier to complete on time. I'm not implying that only a portion of the group does any work, and the others take credit for their work, but on the contrary; if the workload is evenly distributed between the members of a particular group, each member will still be accountable for doing their share. This means that although talented students would receive the same respect and credit as the "ungifted" students, each member would need to put effort in.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... First, assigning group projects allow students to receive extra help. Second, it gives students an opportunity to compare their answers. Last, I agree with group projects because of a past experience of doing an egg drop experiment in science class. As can be seen, I feel that group activities are a much more sufficient way to learn and get involved. WEEK 2 The focus of the learning material this week is to understand the process and issues involved with handover and commissioning of the project. Throughout the readings and lesson materials, I realized the proper commissioning of building services is crucial to ensure the correct operation of the system and its associated building services plant. It affects both the effectiveness and efficiency of building services and hence the comfort of occupants, and the environmental and financial costs of maintaining it. It is worth mentioning that good commissioning of building services requires specialist skills and knowledge. It also requires an early input in the life of a project, when key decisions relating to the construction process are taken which demands a proper commissioning management. The main objective of commissioning management is to manage the overall pre–commissioning and commissioning activities, including programming and co–ordination of energizing the installation, to achieve the project completion date. Based on what I have learnt from the heavy construction projects that I have been involved so far, the key requirements to successfully commission a building, service or product can be summarized as follows: There should be a sufficient time to complete the pre–commissioning and commissioning activities. Analysis Of Project Management Process Group Analysis One thing to keep in mind is that as each of these processes are being done; it could bring new insights into the project which may require some of the previous created project documents to be updated. The processes in the Planning Process Group may be repeated or re–addressed several times as the project progresses. It is also important to note that the outputs of certain processes serve as inputs to other processes within the Planning Process Group. Among all the Process Groups within the project management process, the Planning Process Group contains the most processes. This portrays the significance of this Process Group in respect to the project as a whole. All of these processes work in conjunction to make up the whole Project Management Plan. The risks associated with not properly addressing the key elements will ultimately result in the project failing. The PMBOK lists 9 key elements of a project plan. In this section, we will look at the associated risks if the project manager fails to address any of these. Key Element 1 – Scope. The most common risk associated here is scope creep, or the continued addition of new aspects to the scope. Scope creep can come from both external stakeholders and internally from well–intentioned project team members. While the team members may have good intentions with looking to improve a certain deliverable, this is dangerous because it can cause a project to slip months behind.
