2. Album Covers
• Lukas Graham released an album in 2016, called Lukas
Graham (Blue Album).
• This album cover features a photograph of a young boy
from the back, looking at a painting in an art gallery. The
photograph is of a naked woman surrounded by bottles.
This painting is completely blue, hence the name (blue
album); I imagine that is why they put that in the title, after
all, they did need something to differentiate it from the
previous album, released in 2012, that was also named
Lukas Graham.
• The blue woman in the painting is featured in other
promotional factors for the album.
• The font is rough, yet unique, as though it is someone’s
actual writing style/handwriting. The band have done this in
an attempt to show a sense of individuality. This is
commonly done by soul rock artists/bands; to incorporate
individuality into certain areas of their work.
3. Tour Posters
• Each tour poster has the famous
Lukas Graham logo on it ( ),
alongside the colour blue which is
commonly featured, making sure it
relates to the album name ‘Lukas
Graham (Blue Album).
• This is an example of consistency
spread across the different
promotional factors.
4. Digipaks/CD’s
• Lukas Graham have released CD’s of their album
‘Lukas Graham’.
• The CD is made up of just one disc, consisting of 11
tracks.
• The cover is of course the classic, well known Lukas
Graham album cover image. This is, again, an example
of consistency and flow within the promotional
elements. By keeping consistent with these elements,
it helps the audience to associate these things with the
band, and provides them with the knowledge that
Lukas Graham are individual.
5. Website Promotion –Tour
dates, Albums etc.
• As seen from the screenshots, Lukas Graham have
continued to be consistent with the blue colour
theme, keeping their fans with a feeling of safety
and satisfaction as they are familiar with that
colour and in this situation, will associate it with
the band.
• On the website, as well as staying consistent with
the colour blue, they have also incorporated
several links, taking the viewer to tour
information, a merchandise page, music, news,
photos, videos, lyrics, and a bio page. For
example, on the music link, there is more
promotion for the most recent album, with the
names of the tracks, and options to either stream
it on buy it.
• In all of these links, the colour blue remains
evident, providing the audience with that
familiarity.
• The photos on the website give the audience an
indication of what kinds of people they are, and
how they like to have fun. This is personal to the
band, however, for promotional purposes, this is
helpful for the band, as their audience feel as
though they can connect with the band.
6. Merchandise
• Several elements of consistency have been
incorporated into Lukas Graham’s merchandise.
These being, the album photograph, the blue
writing that is commonly used by Lukas Graham
when it comes to promotional factors, the Lukas
Graham logo ( ), and black and white
photographs of the band.
• All of these elements contribute in making the
band’s promotion individual and personal to them.
• The posters of the band in black and white, are of
them having fun with each other, joking around,
and presenting themselves as being very close
friends. This is personal to the band, however,
promotes them well, as the audience can feel as
though they can connect with the band, relate to
them, and understand them, helping them to feel
as though they know more about them. This is
helpful for the band in terms of promotion and
fans.
