refers to the
tendency to
perceive thoughts,
objects, events and persons
as sacred.

4. Non-rationalism is shown
in fatalism expressed by
the “bahala na” attitude.
This means leaving
matters as they are or
leaving to take its course.

5. Fatalism is shown in attitudes
such as “suerte”, “tadhana”,
“malas”, “buenas”- all beliefs
in fate, predestination, belief
in horoscopes, numerology,
and “hula” (fortune telling).

accepted by his fellowmen
for what he is and to be
treated according to his
status.

9. In order to get along with
others, one of the Filipinos’
favorite pastime is gambling.

11. The Filipinos are highly-sensitive
so they avoid brutal frankness and
direct confrontation. They try to be
pleasant to others through
“pakikisama”, euphemism and the
use of a go—between.
