1. HOW DID YOU USE NEW MEDIA
TECHNOLOGIES IN THE RESEARCH,
PLANNING, CONSTRUCTION AND
EVALUATION STAGE OF YOUR PROJECT?

2. For my research, I have used a variety of search
engines such as: Google, Safari and Firefox so that I
could access the sites like: Youtube and Wikipedia to
look into the artists work and their music videos, so I
could get an idea of what I wanted to do for my own
final product. Search engines are very helpful when it
comes to research as it provides us with a lot of sites
which we can use to gather information about the
artist.

3. Youtube is very important during the research
process as it is the only place you can watch,
study and analyse other artists music videos. It is
also the place where I have uploaded my final
product so that people can watch it and write their
opinion on it. I uploaded me research and findings
onto the itslearning blog in a variety of formats,
such as: Powerpoint, SlideShare and Prezi.

4. For editing, we used the iMacs, which is an apple
based computer that we have used last year, I think
using the iMac so often has given me more
confidence with the programmes on it as well, for
example: iMovie, Photoshop and Lightroom, I have
used these programmes to edit the digipak, advert
and the final product to achieve a high standard of
work. I have used a PC to do anything that I couldn’t
do on the iMac, such as: Powerpoint. Powerpoint was
used when I needed to create slides to put on the
SlideShare.

5. For my filming, one of the main pieces of technology I used
was a DSLR camera and a tripod to have all of my clips in
focus, however, because there are many tracking clips that
include running after the girl in the woods, we couldn’t keep
it still, so a few of scenes are slightly blurred. A DSLR camera
was also used when taking photos of the artist for the advert
and digipak, first half of the photoshoot was taken in a field
with horses, I wanted to keep the whole theme very natural.
The other half of the photoshoot was based in a photography
studio which created a high standard images.

6. To create the lip sync, I have used iTunes to
download the song I had to use in order to
create my music video. I downloaded the song
so I can use to put into the music video and to
sing to when creating the lips sync. iTunes
provided me with the song (‘Old Money’ by Lana
Del Rey) I was using with my main task and
therefore was a key programme whilst forming
my product.
