How did you use media technologies
in the construction and research,
planning and evaluation stages?

2. Research – Music Video
YouTube and other video sharing websites allowed be to have
access to hundreds of music videos where ever I was. This
enabled me to do research while on the move. This also went
well with the Apple iPhone I have that allowed watching
music videos even easier. Also with the phone, I was able to
take high quality photos of the locations I was going to film
Research – Digipak/Website
To research other CD covers, I simply looked on Google
Images and a whole range of albums came up. I also went
onto the HMV website and looked at their extensive
collection of CDs.
For the website, all I did was type in artists names into
Google that are in the same genre as Devlin and then
click on their official website.

3. Music Video Production
The same as last year, I used Adobe Premiere 2.0 to put
my video together. This program was excellent and
enabled me to create a professional looking music video.
It gives you all the options and fades and image
manipulation. The main and only really effect I used was
slow motion to make some scenes more dramatic. This
effect worked well as Premiere had some useful tools to
allow frame blending for a smoother video. Another
effect I used was the fish eye and black and white effect
on the close up shot of Matt rapping. This is a very basic
effect but proved easy to create in this advance program.
For one of the last scenes, I have the horse running while
Matt is sitting down reflecting on his life and the clever
program allowed be to play both of the images on top of
each other to make it look like the horse is running in the
back of his brain.

4. Digipak Production
Having Adobe Photo-Paint at my disposal was
reassuring but I didn’t use any of the special
effects as this wouldn’t have gone well with the
video. I could have been able to do all the things
I did in paint or another photo editing program
but the school provided us with this software so
I thought ill make the most of it. The software
was very easy to use, as this made it a breeze
creating the Digipak to the correct size required.

5. Website Production
When I first got handed the task of creating a
website, I was very unsure at the start as I have no
experience doing anything like that before.
WIX.com made everything so easy to use. I could
design the website exactly how I wanted it to look
like with slideshows, music clips and videos
wherever I wanted. I don’t know what I would have
done if it wasn’t for using their templates to create
my website. The software definitely enable the
production, it was the only thing that made it
possible. It made the whole process enjoyable

6. Evaluation Stages
For the evaluation stages, I felt like completing the 4
questions in the same written format would have
been too simply and boring. This is where
slideshare and Prezi came into use.
Prezi allowed me to show information in a fun and
user friendly format that made switching between
different pieces of information interesting.
Slideshows are a very effective way of displaying
information and slideshare made it possible to put
interactive PowerPoints up on my blog.
