3. Logo & Banner
The logo on both these Channel 4
print adverts are to the right hand
side of the main image. This advert
shows that the channel 4 logo is to
the right of the advert, keeping
space for the main image.
The logo colour is
normally the same as
the banners as this
creates the house style
for the newspaper
advert. This advert for
a channel 4
documentary has a
green banner which
then matches then
banner, creating a
house style.
4. Image
There can often be photoshop that takes
place on the print advert for example this
advert for Hollyoaks. This is so that it is
more visually interesting for the audience.
It shows that this advert has been
photoshopped to show a fire effect, to
create a meaning to the advert.
There is also normally just one key quality
main image that features on a print
advert. This is so it keeps it simply and
that it allows consumers to focus on one
thing. This advert for The Morgan Show
shows that they have a main high quality
image to keep it simple and to draw the
audience in to that one main image.
5. Text
The slogan is normally the
biggest font on the page, this is
to make it stand out for the
audience and it give them an
insight of what the documentary
is going to be about.
The title of the
documentary is
placed at the bottom
right on the advert
with the scheduling
of the programme.
6. The tagline for this print advert
is ‘The Future’s Broken’, this is
the biggest text that is on the
print advert. This is done as it
gives the audience a taste to
what the programme is going
to be about and to attract them
to watch the show. The tagline
is normally linked to the
programme or the image, on
the print advert it shows that
the word ‘broken’ anchors the
image of the glass (or mirror
due to the name of the
programme) as this is also
broken. This is done to intrigue
and attract the audience and to
try and get as many people to
watch the programme as
possible.
There is a banner behind the scheduling of the programme, name and
the tagline, this is done so that it is to help the audience navigate to
this information as this is the most relevant information on the print
advert. The black banners also helps the text to stand out from the
image and therefore is easier for the audience.
The house style of
the print advert also
anchors the title of
the programme. This
is due to the fact that
the colour scheme is
black as the logo and
banners are both this
colour. This then links
to the title of ‘Black
Mirror’.
The banner and the text do not take the focus of
the main image, this is due to the fact that the
image is central and there is only one key quality
main image on the print advert.
