1. Evaluation
For our project we had to make a bag for HMV which represented 1,2 or 3
artist from the top 100 list of best albums of all time.
I used Photoshop for creating my bag as it was easy to create effects that
looked good. I used various tools such as:
Magic wand. This helped me when cutting out an image that was on one solid
background because it took away the colour leaving the image I wanted.
Lasso tool. This helped me when cutting out the Beatles
themselves as I could detect an area and use it as a single
image.
Text tool. I used the simple text tool to insert lyrics from
some Beatles songs. I changed the font, style and colour
of the text.
Gradient tool.I used the gradient tool to set a background which had two
colours that faded into eachother.

2. I have certainly learned new skills from using photoshop as I had never used it
before this project. One simple technique that I learned whilst using
photoshop was the magnetic lasso tool.

Overall look of my bag.
Overall I am pleased with my bag because I think that my simple designing
gives good effects that stand out and catch eyes. I also made sure that I used a
lot of HMV colours throughout my bag. I did this so It kept to the theme of

3. HMV. I like how I use big versions of the Beatles with the little versions of the
Beatles. It took a lot of designing and creating to do because I had to use many
layers and tools to produce the front cover. I think that some strengths to my
bag are the use of colour that represents HMV and the designing of my bag,
the use of lyrics to represent the Beatles and the association of the Beatles cars
on the back of my bag with the Beatles on my front.
I think that I could have put more advanced editing onto my bag. If I was to do
my bag again I think I would chose more than one artist to display. I also would
like to develop a better understanding of photoshop to get a higher grade.
