LSC OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Lone Star Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships are set for a three-day run May 4-5-6 at
Memorial Stadium in Commerce, Texas.
Texas A&M-Kingsville is the reigning men’s champion and West Texas A&M is the defending champion on
the women’s side.
The events start Thursday at 12:30 p.m. with the mul -events por on and conclude Saturday night with
finals and team trophy presenta ons.

MEN’S TRACK
Isaac Marquez, Angelo State University, SO, Azle, Texas, Azle
Marquez ran his first NCAA Division II provisional mark in the 200-meters and helped the 4x400-meter relay
clock a season best at the ACU Invite. The sophomore ran 21.30 in the 200-meters to place second overall
and is now No. 29 in Division II. He also ran lead off leg on the 4x400-meter that ran 3:12.52 and sits No. 11 in
Division II.
MEN’S FIELD
Zachary Pra , Tarleton State University, SR, Fairfield, Texas, Fairfield HS
Pra competed at the ACU Wildcat Open. Pra finished the hammer throw in second-place with a toss of 164-
11 (50.28m).
WOMEN’S TRACK
Ashley Johnson, Tarleton State University, SR, Mexia, Texas, Mexia HS
Johnson competed in the ACU Wildcat Open. Johnson finished first-place in the 400m dash in a me of 55.68
seconds. This was a career best and NCAA provisional mark for the senior from Mexia, TX.
WOMEN’S FIELD
Daisy Osakue, Angelo State University, FR, Turin, Italy
Osakue won the women’s discus at the ACU Invite with her second best throw of the season. The freshman
threw 188-2 (57.36m) to win her fi h event tle of the season. It is her seventh throw over the NCAA Division
II automa c mark.
OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Jaylen Tryon, Lubbock Chris an University, competed at the ACU Wildcat Open this past Thursday where
freshman Tryon proved to be the standout for the Chaparrals. Tryon led LCU over the weekend with a first
place finish in the 800-meter event. The freshman led the race with a 1:55.81 pace, which was just one second
shy of a personal-best me. Tryon heads to the LSC Championships with the ninth fastest me (1:54.95) in the
conference for the 800-meter run.
Jarred Elizondo, Tarleton State University, competed in the 1500m run at the ACU Wildcat Open. Elizondo
finished fourth in the race with a me of 4:11.88.
Owen Hind, West Texas A&M University, now ranks first in the LSC in two events a er his record breaking
performance over 5,000-meters this past weekend at the Penn Relays. The London, England na ve broke Joseph
Kemei’s 1978 record of 14:36.0 as he covered the 12 laps in 14:34.31 for a NCAA Division II provisional qualifier.
The junior now owns four school records and sits atop the LSC rankings in the 5,000m and 10,000-meters a er
running 29:27.40 at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival.
Julie Neiswirth, Lubbock Chris an University, headlined the Lady Chaparral finishers at the ACU Wildcat
Open this past week with a second place overall finish in the 1,500-meter run. Neiswirth led the LCU runners
with a 4:56.45 me giving her the LSC’s 12th fastest me in the 1,500-meter event. The freshman also runs the
800-meter for LCU and ranks 23rd in the conference with a 2:28.07.
Roxana Hernandez, Tarleton State University, competed in the high jump at the ACU Wildcat Open. Stegall
finished the meet in third-place with a jump of 5-3 (1.60m).

championship with brought first place finishes in the women’s 1,500m run, 800m run, and javelin throw. On
the men’s side, the Hounds posted a seventh-place finish in the 4x100m relay. This season, Eastern has posted
16 qualifying marks for the NCAA Championships. The 4x100m quartet of Jacques Hall, Avery Rasher, Julian
Coronado, and Marcus Parker rank fi h in the na on and are at the forefront. Parker, Coronado, and Hall, also
have qualified in both the 100m and 200m dashes, with Parker ranking in the top ten in the country for both
events. Augustus Swanson is tenth in the country in the 400m hurdles, while Kenneth Lloyd is 17th in the high
jump. For the Greyhound women’s team, Melina Gryschka has provisionally qualified in the 800m, 1,500m,
5,000m, and 3,000m steeplechase.

The Lubbock Chris an men and women’s track wrapped up their regular season at the Abilene Chris an
Wildcat Open on Thursday, April 27. The LCU women only competed in two events for the day but were s ll
able to capture two personal-best mes as well as six top-ten finishes. On the men’s side freshman Jaylen Tryon
headed up the LCU results page with a first place finish in the 800-meter run. In total the Chaparral men posted
five top-eight finishes across three events.
