and radio stations. Bauer Media joined the Bauer Media Group in January 2008 following
acquisition of Emap plc’s consumer and specialist magazines, radio, TV, online and digital
businesses. Collectively, the Group employs some 6,400 people. They have more than eighty
influential media brands spanning a wide range of interests, including heat, GRAZIA, Closer,

magazines. They therefore have a vast range of audiences. Bauer have targeted several different audiences consisting of all
types. Bauer itself is a franchise brand which has many different forms of media magazines like ‘Q’ and ‘Kerrang’ both have
their radio stations and TV channels. They also have other forms of media for their individual magazines such as websites
and mobile phone apps.

2. Emap Limitedwas a business-to-business multiplatform media group, whose brands
inform, inspire and connect within the sectors they operated in. For millions of people
across the globe involved in the built environment, retail, media, fashion, health,
education, government and automotive sectors, Emap provided essential news, analysis
and access. Emap started life as a local newspaper company in 1947 and transformed
into a global media group, playing a crucial role in giving the essential news, analysis and access that they need to succeed.
The industry was publishing. Emap produced a range of magazines for smaller niche markets and mainstream. The
company split up and was sold off, but it was the second largest publisher in the UK.

in the United Kingdom. It was founded in 1985 with one magazine;but today they have

market-leading positions in games, film, music, technology, cycling, automotive and
crafts.Future plc sells 3.2 million magazines each month and they attract more than 23
million unique visitors to their websites as well as hosting 27 annual live events that attract
hundreds of thousands of enthusiasts. In addition, Future exports or syndicates publications to 90 countries
internationally, making them the UK’s number one exporter and licensor of monthly magazines. Future only sells
magazines to specialist niche markets for communities passionate about their interests. They share the same passions as
their consumers and operate multi platforms.
