Question 3  What kind of Media institution distribute your media product and why?
Magazine Producing  The major distributor I would choose for my magazine is Frontline, as it would go on sale and be distributed in major retail outlets. It was important that I reached out to my young target audience and make my magazine as well known as possible, so by making my magazine available in major outlet stores I would be able to make a profit.
Frontline Ltd Frontline is one of the UK’s biggest distributor of hundreds of magazines. Frontline was formed in June 1986 by the magazine publisher Emap (now Bauer Media) in order to handle the demands of their expanding department. Frontline sells and distributes over 160 of our Partners' magazine titles, including 54 of the top 200 best selling titles in the UK . There magazines sell nearly 8 million copies every week through over 55,000 shops ranging from small local shops, to the biggest retail supermarkets/ stores such as Tesco and WHSmith.  Frontline's job is to maximise the sales of our magazines in the most cost-effective way.  They do this by the understanding of their shoppers in order to develop effective strategies for driving category sales.  They also use different solutions to ensure that they are getting the right magazines, in the right numbers, into the right shops.
The magazine I have studied. Mixmag is the magazine I have been studying and taking my ideas and inspiration out of. I think Frontline (Bauer Media) would most likely be distributing a magazine such as Mixmag as it influences the young, mainstream audience there for it seems that there's a good chance that the same company would distribute my magazine as both of out media products are similar.
Mixmag Magazine Mixmag is a monthly magazine, devoted to dance and techno music. Mixmag was sold to EMAP in the mid 1990’s before being took over by Development Hell. Development Hell revamped Mixmag and made it a wider appeal to both male and female audiences and also those of older readership. Mixmag have said themselves that there first intention was to aim at the younger, “party nutter” audience but they realised that this was not the best key selling point  to use and now Mixmag is connected to music all of the world for all types of readers.
Who would distribute my media product and why? Seymour would be a first choice of distributor for my media product as it is part owned my Frontline Distributors. It’s targeted at the mainstream audience and with frontline being a large institution which distributes hundreds of magazines from music magazine’s to sports magazines. I feel that my media product would suit well in the multi- platform institution as my magazine is already similar to some of their established they distribute and produce.
