Examples Of Peer Relationships In Mean Girls
In the film "Mean Girls" there were many types of peer relationships expressed. Friendships are
described as a reciprocal liking, trust, and loyalty between all participating dyadic parties. An
example in the film is the relationship that Damian and Janis hold because they are loyal to each
other and the liking is mutual. Peer acceptance is to the degree one is liked by their peers. In the film
Aaron Samuels is very much liked by his peers. Perceived popular is a child that is considered
popular based on their peers' perceptions. Regina George is a prime example of teenage girl
perceived as popular. When students described Regina George in the film these type of comments
were made, "Regina George is flawless", "One time she punched me in the faced. It was awesome.",
and "she always looks fierce." Cliques are polyadic social groups that are voluntary. A main clique
in the movie is "The Plastics" which consists of Regina George, Gretchen Wieners, and Karen
Smith. These forms of peer relationships are a lot more complex than just a group of friends, these
relationships of dynamic in early adolescence.
Friendship
Regina George's friend group is comprised of Karen and Gretchen. Their friendship is difficult at
times. They share secrets among each other, for example the burn book is a secret between the girls.
When Cady is included into the friend group she is then entrusted with the group's secrets. This
group of "Plastics" are friends by choice and always ask for each other's

Mean girls
Opening image: The first image seen is of a girl's parents telling their daughter goodbye and to have
a good first day at school. The girl's mother is crying because unlike most kids her daughter has
never been to a real school. She is sixteen years old and has been homeschooled all her life.
Theme stated: "I had a lot of friends in Africa. But so far, none in Evanston." This line basically
foreshadows how she has no friends at her new school so far... Which tells us she will meet new
friends and people and that we'll just have to wait and find out whom and how it goes.

It was going good until Regina decided to speak to Aaron at the Halloween party and lied to him
saying that Cady was crazy and obsessed with him, here are some examples "I know she's kind of
socially retarded and weird, but she's my friend, so just promise me you won't make fun of her."
"She's like a little girl. She, like, writes all over her notebook, "Mrs. Aaron Samuels." And she made
this T–shirt that says "I heart Aaron" and she wears it under all her clothes." And "And OK, look,
I'm not saying she's a stalker, but she saved this Kleenex you used and she said she's going do some
kind of African voodoo with it to make you like her." Regina then kissed them, after all these lies
Aaron became a bit freaked out (but we can tell he likes Cady) and starts dating Regina. Aaron
offers to tutor Cady afterschool and agrees to not tell Regina just in case she'd be mad. While
tutoring they kiss and then breakaway because he doesn't find it fair for Regina. Cady has a huge
party and lots of people went including Aaron. When Aaron finds himself upstairs in Cady's room he
stares at a photo of Cady when she was younger on an elephant. Aaron smiles helplessly and a song
starts playing. Now that everything in the break into three is done, Aaron smiles when Cady is going
to try something new and not talk behind anyone's back and when she gets a 98 in a math test Aaron
says "Welcome back nerd" with a smile. It was clear that

Analysis Of Mean Girls
In our world today, there are many different types of cultures. In America especially, there is so
much diversity within culture that it's what makes America what it is today. What is culture you may
ask? Culture is basically a human's way of living life through values, beliefs, behavior, and material
objects. In the well–known movie, Mean Girls, there are a lot of different types and aspects of
culture throughout the movie. The movie Mean Girls is about a girl named Cady Heron who lived in
Africa and was homeschooled for most of her life, has to attend a public high school called North
Shore. She is clueless at first and after a while she makes friends with a group of popular girls
known as the Plastics. She fits in quickly and tries to adapt through high school. There are different
types of cultures and subcultures at North Shore such as the Plastics, the Jocks, the Nerds, the Cool
African Americans, the Cool Asians, the Foreigners, and the Losers. Everyone at North Shore high
wants to be like the Plastics so some of the girls like to copy everything the Plastics do such as the
way they speak and dress. In addition to that all the students are desperate to fit in so in order for
them to do that they have to value sex, drinking, partying, makeup, and other typical teenage stuff.
Mean Girls did in fact have a lot of different types of cultural aspects to it and there are strong
examples to prove this. In the movie there were a lot of different types of subcultures. When Cady
first walks into the lunchroom she sees different types of cliques (aka subcultures) such as the
Plastics, the Preps, the Jocks, the Nerds, the Cool African Americans, the Cool Asians, the
Foreigners, and the Losers. A subculture is certain parts of a person's culture that share
characteristics that makes it stand out from focusing on one culture primarily. One example of a
subculture is the Plastics. They're a group of girls who value looking beautiful, dating, and being
popular. The Plastics are looked up to in by all the girls in the school. In one part in the movie
Regina George had holes in her shirt which was done by Janice in order to make her feel
embarrassed. Regina didn't care and continued on with her day and the whole

The Possibility of Evil by Shirley Jackson
Shirley Jackson emphasizes appearance vs. reality in the short story "The Possibility of Evil"
because looks can be deceiving. Looks can shape how we think of people and in reality they could
be the opposite.
Shirley Jackson's short story "The Possibility of Evil" is set in the 1950's in a small town that reveals
the contradiction between appearances vs. reality. In the story it states, "The sun was shining, the air
was fresh and clear after the nights heavy rain, and everything in Miss Strangeworths little town
looked washed and bright" (Jackson, 223)
Miss Strangeworths town seems nice and perfect. Everyone knows each other very well but are all
oblivious to the fact that each and every one of them have evil lurking inside of them. In the short
story "Lessons of Love" by Judith Ortiz Cofer, the Puerto Rican girl thinks of the senior as a very
perfect and attractive person. But after he kisses her, she realizes that he is no longer what she had
thought about him and is just a player who enjoys playing with the hearts of many girls. Even
though something or someone may look good on the outside, they may not be the same on the
inside. Therefore, I think that appearance vs. reality was shown in the setting of this story.
Appearance vs. reality is shown in "The Possibility of Evil" by Shirley Jackson through character
development because looks can be deceiving. In the story it states that she always uses "a dull stub
of pencil and always prints in a child block print"

Stereotypes Of Teenage Girls
Introduction
We may not think or believe it ourselves, but the media is constantly ruling a huge part of our lives
and how we socially interact with others. Over many years it has created many stereotypes and it
shows quite a false representation of teenage girls. But firstly what in fact is representation? Or
stereotypes?
Representation
Representation is the process by which the media present us to the 'real ' world and how they re–
present something back to us. For a huge number of us the media is a main source for us to
understand the world around us.
Stereotypes
A stereotype can be what we call an inaccurate ideology. It is targeted at a specific group or
individual such as teenage girls. An ideology is the beliefs, ideas and values that are emboldened by
the media.
For example we believe we think that we know what the ambitions are for most teen girls;
popularity, partying, pretty and BOYS!!! But actually this is only what the media's representation of
teen girls that has caused this ideological stereotype of girls and their relational ambitions.
Stereotypes that the media has produced has shaped society as we know it. We are constantly
surrounded by television social media advertisements and all things media attempt to capture our
attention. When we look at stereotypes in the media we get what we call a positive negative win.
This is when the media text that we are looking at provides either a positive or negative outlook and
provides either a positive or

Mean Girls Analysis
Mean Girls Analysis Mean Girls, a popular comedic film, is about high school drama in its highest
form – wanting to be popular. It mainly follows a girl named Cady, a new student looking to make
and please friends. She agrees to spy on one of her new friends' enemies, Regina George, to help
destroy her life. However, along the way, Cady finds herself becoming more and more like Regina
George and the rest of the "plastics" or the mean girls. In this paper, there's going to be an analysis
of this film, because there seems to be a deeper meaning than just the comedic shell. And while this
is a favorite movie of many teenage girls because of its relatable humor regarding popularity and
girl–on–girl drama, like name calling and backstabbing, it also sheds light on the subject of bullying,
including peer–pressure, and how it really can affect someone's life in a very negative manner.
Regina George is the main girl of the "plastics". She will do anything and everything to stay on top,
including selling her friends out just to make them look bad. You may have known someone like this
in high school, but why are they like this, you might ask? The movie does a good job about making
the subject humorous, but it seems as if it's also trying to prove a point and bring awareness to
young girls who watch the film, without necessarily being too serious. There are also many
examples of power, peer pressure, and bullying in this movie, which are all looming issues in today's
schools. Cady

Character Analysis Of Regina George And Kate Sanders
Just as rules and boundaries exist in most of the world, they also make their way into the movie
making industry, in particularly in Hollywood films. Hollywood moviemakers focus on relatable,
real–life possible events, which they dramatize and turn into big hit blockbusters. In order to
categorize their many productions, they use the notion of genre and create their own
rules/qualifications to be able to classify movies as such. This categorization even persists within the
movies themselves, especially within the extremely popular teen girl genre. Teen girl films focus
primarily on the stereotypical junior high/high school life of an adolescent female. Thus, the
narrative of the films must contain specific rules and character types that encompass high school
life. To make a real seller, the most often–used character type is the so–called 'mean' or 'popular' girl
in a social hierarchy based school. In order to be identified as the 'mean and popular' girl character,
one must be physically attractive, judgmental/cruel, and be the center of attention. To understand
this archetypal character type it is best to examine the two most 'infamous' popular girls in the
industry, Regina George, and Kate Sanders. Although, Regina George and Kate Sanders exist in two
very distinct narratives, their personality traits are not at all different or unique. Interestingly, since
The Lizzie McGuire Movie was produced before Mean Girls, Kate Sanders ends up being the first
typical

The Era We Live In
What's one of the worst parts about living life? It can be not being able to find that one true love in
life, or even living with regret in your heart. I always hear conversations about people being together
with a person they don't love, or people talking about something they wish they could have done
when they had the chance, but were too concerned about another factor in their lives, now having to
live life full of regrets. Like Gil Pender says, "That's just the era we line in..." In the 2011 film,
Midnight In Paris, written and directed by Woody Allen, tells the story of Gil Pender's, played by
Owen Wilson, longing for self–fulfillment and his love ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Rolling Stone Magazines Peter Travers, Wilson's performance is pitch perfect to
capturing the humor and gravity that Gil Pender's role demanded. I have to agree with Travers
because Wilson took on a few scenes where we were able to recognize his comedic rooms from
other films. USA Today's Claudia Puig doesn't applaud Wilson's performance as I do. She refers to
his work to less than convincing of a novelist with a passion for Fitzgerald or Hemingway like he
does in the film. Puig argues that unlike his comedy films like Wedding Crashers or Zoolander,
Wilson does a mediocre job on the film. Based on the film, Wilson is able to keep the audience
thinking and believe that he is a dedicated and talented writer. Pete Hammond of Box Office
Magazine, declares Allen's romantic comedy to be a delightful film giving Gil what he wants every
night taking him back to the golden era of 1920's Paris, to be Wilson's best work in years. Hammond
took the words right out of my mouth; it's indeed Wilson's best work since his comedy film,
Wedding Crashers. Jon Maguire from Confessions of a Film Critic, sums that Wilson plays a key
performance to a film romanticizing Paris' beauty a good one. Of course I'm not arguing with
Maguire, only adding onto what he critiques is that Wilson keeps he audience engaged for the
duration of the film keeping us on the edge of our seats. I heart the talkies gives

The Notebook By Nicholas Sparks Essay
A romantic drama film is a genre that explores the difficult aspects that come with love. The plot
usually includes two people that are in love that can't be together the way they want to be due to
obstacles. The obstacles in a romantic drama film can include a family 's disapproval, to forbidden
love, to one 's own psychological restrictions. The Notebook is a movie based on a best–selling
novel that was written by author Nicholas Sparks. This is a love story that is composed of a series of
obstacles between two young people that are madly in love with each other. It perfectly fits and
displays the criteria for a successful romantic drama film because it includes the complexity of love,
and elicits emotions.
In The Notebook there are countless obstacles between the two main characters that are in love. This
allows the movie to fit into the drama aspect of the genre, displaying the complexity of their love.
Complex love includes the drama, and difficulties of a relationship, while still being closely
connected to the romantic parts of a relationship. This is prevalent in The Notebook. Allie and Noah,
played by well–known actors Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling, were two people from different
social classes. Allie was from a wealthy, privileged upper–class family while Noah was making

Film Analysis Of Mean Girls
Mean Girls directed by Mark Waters is a coming of age movie which follows the high school
journey of Cady Heron. Coming from being home schooled her whole life, 16 year old Cady must
survive high school as she learns it is completely different from the environment in Africa. Mean
Girls addresses subjects such as beauty is only skin deep in a light hearted and comedic manner,
making it a movie that can be enjoyed by all ages while still spreading awareness. Moving from a
secluded friendly place in Africa, Cady has no experience of growing up in the torture that is high
school. She meets 2 new people on her first day who teach her about the school. Not academically,
but socially. She is instantly consumed by the drama that is high school with no sense of how
ruthless high school can be. Even though Mean Girls highly exaggerates high school, I think the
way they did so was super effective in telling a story. I thoroughly enjoyed the comparison of the
animal world which is the world Cady used to come from when living in Africa, to "girl world"
which is where she lives now. As I see it, animal world is full of savage creatures and harm where
all things are resolved with violence whereas in girl world, to survive you must be sneaky and
malicious which were all things Cady had to learn to adapt to. I think this comparison was used to
show how when we are thrown into a new situation, we can feel lost as if we were in a jungle in fear
of our new surroundings. But in Mean Girls, Cady

`` Mean Girls ' : A New Student At North Shore High School
In Mean Girls (2004), Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan) is a new student at North Shore High School.
Throughout the film we hear the narration of Cady and witness the Bildungsroman of her character.
Bildungsroman is known as "a specific subgenre of coming–of–age stories that focus on the
protagonist's psychological and moral growth. Hence, character change is extremely important"
(Kusina, 2015). She has a major culture shock when she goes from being homeschooled in Africa to
being a part of the most popular clique in school: "The Plastics". In the beginning of the movie,
Cady could be described as nerdy, awkward, and a typical home schooled "virgin". She makes
friends with Damian (Daniel Franzese) and Janis Ian (Lizzy Caplan) who tell her all about the
politics of their high school. Janis and Damian give their outsider perspective multitudes of cliques
at their high school.
A clip from Mean Girls that showed each of the social groups, or cliques, in their high school. These
groups were described as; "freshmen, ROTC guys, preps, J.V. jocks, Asian nerds, cool Asians,
Varsity jocks, unfriendly black hotties, girls who eat their feelings, girls who don 't eat anything,
desperate wannabes, burnouts, sexually active band geeks, the greatest people you will ever meet,
and the worst... Beware of Plastics." (filmsite.org) The lack of intersectionality is quite disturbing in
this film when the students described as the "desperate wannabes" were shown in the lunchroom.

Regina George In Mean Girls
Regina George is a character in the comedy movie, "Mean Girls". She is the most unpredictable,
selfish, sarcastic, manipulative, lying villain, oh and not to mention the most stylish one too! That
being some of the reasons why she is one of the best/worst villains. All the girls either hated her or
wanted to be her and, the boys well, they loved her! In the movie this character is the leader of a
group called, " The plastics", in the high school of, North Shore. The group of the "plastics" was
known as teen royalty. This group was made of Regina George and her two side kicks.
Regina's side kicks names were Karen Smith, and Gretchen Wieners. Karen smith is described as,
"The dumbest girl you'll ever meet" nothing more, nothing less. Then there was Gretchen, she was
rich and popular because her father was the "inventor of toaster strudel." Not only that, but she knew
everything about everyone in the school, they said that why her hair looked so big because it,"was
full of secrets." Regina treated them absolutely terrible and, she considered them her friends, that
being said you can only imagine how she treats everyone else. They were both heavily influenced by
Regina, and they did about anything she told them to do!

Plastics: Regina George (unspoken leader), Gretchen Wieners (gossip queen), and Karen Smith (the
stupid, clueless one), who are at the top of the social pyramid. Befriended by the girls, Cady is left
to decide whether or not she belongs in this clique or if her place exists in a different one. The use of
satirist and comedic scenes throughout the film show the different sexist lenses and stereotypes that
women are viewed with.
Women are perceived in many films, books, television shows, etc. that they are "airheads." In the
film Karen asks Cady "So, if you're from Africa...why are you white?" The comment made in the
scene presents Karen to be incompetent in the way of not having common sense, which displays the
stereotype of women being "airheads". This stereotype presents humorous intent because no one
would expect this type of question to be asked and this is manifested in Rappaport's Punchline
surprise theory; mainly focused on "...unexpected positive events that are experienced as a happy
shock" (pg.16). The theory comes into play because of the blunt question that was insisted, which
comes as a surprise to the audience. Nevertheless, the surprise factor brings humor into the scene.

The Lovers, By Rachel Mcadams And Ryan Gosling
"We're gonna have to work at this everyday, but I want to do that because I want you. I want all of
you, forever, everyday. You and me...everyday." Sound familiar? The lovers are named Allie
Hamilton and Noah Calhoun, also known as Duke. As young people, these characters are played by
Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling. These actors portray first loves and heartbreak that tugs on
your heartstrings beautifully just wanting and waiting for more.
Starting off the movie with a beautiful scene looking across a sunrise–filled lake, which it gives off
a comfortable, warm feeling to the viewers at home or in the theater. Then it pans out to an elder
Noah Calhoun (played by James Garner) taking his daily medicine in a nursing home. Third scene
shows an also elderly Allie Hamilton (Gena Rowlands) looking over the lake from her bedroom
window. A nurse is asking her several questions about how she is feeling and what she would like to
do that day. Allie doesn't give off any interest in doing anything the nurse is suggesting. Noah enters
her room with a notebook, offering to read to her. The nurse insists that Allie should do something
else but Allie quickly accepts Noah's offer and sits herself down to listen to him read from the
notebook that which she wrote many years ago. This sets up the opening of the classic love story,
"The Notebook."
The setting goes between a summer in South Carolina in the 1940's with the young version of the
lovers and present day time with the elderly version

Mean Girls Essay
Personally, my life and high school was affected by Mean Girls and I didn't even know it. At my
high school, we had a film fest every year, where each grade made a film and they were judged by
the teachers. The winning grade got some sort of prize or points towards field day. Our senior year–
we made a parody of Mean Girls. It wasn't quite Mean Girls, but most of the movie was some
reference or another to the iconic movie. That was the year that I sat down and watched Mean Girls
for the first time– I did not want to go to our film fest and not understand the references. Finally I
understood why everyone was obsessed with this movie– and our film fest was all the better. Just a
few nights ago– my friend from high school came to visit me– and we ended up watching some of
our old film fest movies. Three out of four movies that we made during our high school career had
references to Mean Girls– ones that I didn't notice the first time I saw them because I had not seen
the movie. Now I am able to look back and smile at these movies even more, understanding the
cultural significance that Mean Girls had on my high school– that was about as far from the high
school in the movie as you can get. High School is such a difficult time for anyone– it's a time
where we are all trying to figure out who we are and what type of adults we will be. There is
freedom in choice of classes, who you hang out with, driving, dating, etc. It is no wonder that some
people use this time to bully and

The Generation And The Millennial Generation
While driving on I–95 into the city of Philadelphia, I see dozens of advertisements to the left and
right of me, some promoting education, others jewelry, food, concerts and sporting events.
Everywhere you look, you are bound to faced with some sort of promotion. Whether it is a billboard
while driving, commercial while watching TV, or web advertisement while searching the Internet,
advertisements are everywhere. Their main purpose is to inform or persuade us, the consumers, into
buying the newest product the company is promoting at that time.
In our society we do not realize the effects marketers have on consumers. It is easy for them to
deceive people by using different techniques, like using words such as "sale, convenient, latest," or
even by having appealing pictures going along with products. The main target audience that
marketers aim to influence is the millennial generation. So much of the millennial generation is
influenced through social media and technology. With such an exuberant use and understanding of
technology, marketers realized how to target the most vulnerable group of consumers. Marketer's
upfront goal is being able to sell the certain product, the underlying goal is persuading young
consumers with various marketing techniques leading to negative consequences amongst teens.
While many people may think advertisements can inform people on what they should know, the
negative influences outweigh the positive influences. Marketing has multiple negative

with only knowing who the movie was based on a Nicholas Sparks novel. There is always a boy

Can We Make A Change?
Can We Make a Change?
Adults and peers at my high school all had expectations of me. One expectation they had of me was
to be less than "the best". A very ironic expectation for one to place on another, especially in a
school setting. Then one day I exceeded that expectation. I was told I would be the valedictorian
along with my best friend, because we both had 4.0 GPA's. I thought I had finally exceeded the
expectation other people had of me. Those who wanted to limit me, couldn't fathom the idea of me
being the best. They lashed out. Following that I received some depressing news, which was the Lee
County Board of Education would only allow for each school to have one valedictorian. From this
experience I learned not to allow anyone's opinion or expectation to limit me in any way. Too often
we are expected to be a certain way and fall short of those expectations. When we fall short we are
belittled for being who we are. Media often exemplifies this very issue in many forms. Mean Girls,
The Help, and "Pretty Hurts" are portrayals of how the influence of worldly expectations has caused
discrimination in the American society.
One movie that vividly depicts how cruel teenage girls can be to other peers for not meeting their
expectations is Mean Girls, directed by Mark Waters. Released in 2004, the film relates the life of
Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan) as she attends public school for the first time. She meets two friends

The Notebook Directed By Nick Cassavetes
"It was an improbable romance. He was a country boy. She was from the city. She had the world at
her feet, while he didn't have two dimes to rub together." In the 2004 movie the Notebook directed
by Nick Cassavetes we see an unlikely romance between a rich city girl, Allie Hamilton (Rachel
McAdams), and a poor country boy Noah Calhoun (Ryan Gosling). Based on the bestselling book
by Nicholas Sparks, the Notebook shows us how relationships change throughout different stages of
our lives but love will never diminish.
The film begins with a scene at a nursing home, where see an old man, Duke, reading to a woman,
Allie, whose memory has started to slip due to Alzheimer 's. He pulls an old notebook and in a
flashback we are taken to Seabrook Island, North Carolina in the 1940's. This is where we meet
Noah Calhoun a dirt poor local kid who is played by Ryan Gosling. Gosling, who is undeniably one
of the most popular actors of our generation, does an outstanding job portraying his character. His
ease and confidence makes us believe he was made to play this role. When he tells Allie that
relationships are something you don't give up on "So it 's not gonna be easy. It 's going to be really
hard; we 're gonna have to work at this every day, but I want to do that because I want you. I want
all of you, forever, every day. You and me" He speaks with such great passion and emotion that it
tugs at our heartstrings. The movie then continues to a carnival where Noah first sees Allie and

Analytical Essay on "The Notebook" Film
In the early 1900's silent films amazed audiences with images, later talkies impressed with sound,
today we have 3D. As technology continues to evolve so too will film genres. Genres, while having
some shared characteristics, also differ in terms of stylistic devices used. For instance, the dramatic
film "The Notebook" effectively uses color to reinforce theme and has plausible performers as the
two main protagonists.
"The Notebook" directed by Nick Cassavetes in 2004 tells the story of a couple's fifty year long love
affair and its trials and tribulations. The film begins in a nursing home where an old man (Noah)

a rich city girl, meet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Their facial expressions, gestures and movements make audiences empathize with the protagonists.
In the scene of their first quarrel Rachel McAdams cries, sobs, portrays despair and pleads to stay
,as realistically as if she feels her character's emotions. In scenes of happy moments she smiles and
laughs sincerely, like when she listens to Noah (Ryan Gosling) sitting next to her. Ryan Gosling also
demonstrated his acting talents in the movie. His character is very romantic and faithful and the
actor expressed these traits very well. For instance, in the scene he first meets her he looks at her
with loving eyes, his eyebrows are raised a bit as he cannot stop admiring her. When other women
try to talk to him, he lets them see their attempts are futile via tone changes and hands crossed on his
chest, which express his love and faithfulness. Such a realistic actors' performance reinforces the
dramatic plot.
Warm and pastel colors predominate in "The Notebook". The creators intended to reinforce the
theme also by means of colors. Episodes, in which Allie and Noah are together, have more white,
beige, pink, light blue and green. For instance, Noah painted the house he restored in white color;
the sky is clear and blue when they are together. The white color of the house represents purity of
Noah's love and his devotion to Allie, and the clear

Mean Girls Reponse
Mean Girls Reponse Mean girls is a very influential movie in America and the majority of people
have either watched it or know what it entails. Many people see this movie as a funny satirical and
exaggerated take on American high school but in reality it has a much deeper meaning to it. The
movie revolves around a transfer student ,Cady, who had grown up in Africa and was home
schooled her entire life. It shows her pretending to be friends with the popular group "The Plastics"
so that she can find out their secrets and report back to her other, less popular friends. However, in
the end she becomes sucked into the group and starts to treat everyone else in the same horrible
ways The Plastics do. This movie opened my eyes and help me to gain a sociological perspective
into the high schools in America. I was able to notice all of the different norms, values, and types of
cultures that make up high school. While teenagers in high school have their own type of culture
there are also many subcultures that make up the school. An example of a time in which the
audience sees these subcultures is when the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

represent the counterculture because they are the ones that see how horrible The Plastics really are

The Reality Of Hollywood Schools Vs. Reality
Hollywood schools vs reality
A person might be afraid of the "mean girl" group, or about what the "dumb jocks" say. Hollywood
makes it seem different than what the reality actually is. Maybe that's why high schoolers may be a
little disappointed when they don't see chandeliers, fog machines, or sparkling lights at their prom.
Some kids are afraid of the first day of middle school. They're are preparing themselves for that
harsh mean girl click they may have seen on tv. Or may be afraid that the boys in the older grade
than them would shove the in their locker. While bullying is very real, and everyone should take it
for caution, some things may not be what they seem as portrayed in Hollywood. Bullying is a
serious thing and the state of New York has even taken it to the extents of finning a parent up to
$250 or 15 days in jail. The popular movie, Mean Girls, made in 2004, stars a girl named Cady, and
which she is friends with "unpopular" people. She groups up with the Plastics to get closer with her
enemies. In the end hope to sabotage the "famous" Regina George by giving her protein bars to
make her gain weight, even though she want to lose three pounds. Cady even got Regina's friends to
turn against her. Again, bullying is real, but bullying in real life is much more subtle nowadays.

alone for a day. Well, Cady's parents didn't. In that time Cadey had a party, got

Film Analysis Of The Movie Mean Girls
In today's world bullying is a significant problem not only affecting America but the whole world. If
you believed it was hard for you to go to school when you were young you won't believe how much
harder it is to be a teenager today. The movie "Mean Girls" is a valuable movie because, although in
a comedic sense it offers an insight into the bullying aspects of high school and how it affects teen
girls. The viscous cycle of rumors not fitting in and doing anything and everything to fit in along
with the emotional scars that bullying leaves behind. The film "Mean Girls" follows a young teen
that has never been exposed to high school life her name is Cady Heron. She starts high school and
she is so naïve about everything that goes on in school and believes everyone is nice. Once she gets
a glimpse of the "plastics" she's mesmerized by how cool and confident they are. Regina George is
the one in charge of the plastics the "Queen Bee". She has two minions Gretchen Wieners and Karen
Smith. Life is perfect for the plastics or so it seems. Cady Heron gets invited to join the plastics and
that's when she realizes little by little on what it takes to be cool (Messick Waters, 2004). The film
"Mean Girls" connects with its target audience which consists of teenagers by using humor. Most of
the movie is funny but there is an underlying message that is so subtly intertwined to show a lesson
without it being so in your face. There's a moment in the movie where Cady is faced with

Summary Of Teenager Cady's 'Mean Girls'
Teenager Cady Heron was educated in Africa by her zoologist parents. After 12 years of being in
Africa, her family moves back to the United States, in the suburbs of Illinois. Cady is unprepared for
her first day of public high school, but with the help of Janis and Damien she learns about various
cliques. Janis and Damien warn her to avoid the school's most exclusive clique, the trio of girls
called the Plastics led by Regina. Of course, the Plastics take interest in Cady and invite her to go
shopping with them. Janis decides to hatch a plan to get revenge on Regina using Cady since she
was accepted into the Plastics. Once Cady is a part of the Plastics, she learns about Regina's top

I feel like this shows that there are gender stereotypes, but it doesn't always have to be pointed out
by a guy, it could be pointed out by another female. The Plastics put that into view especially when
bashing other girls and guys in their classes. For instance, Regina made comments about joining the
Mathletes was "social suicide", and then when Regina made a derogatory joke about Janis' sexuality.
Gender stereotypes start from cliques, especially those cliques who look down on others. Regina
even use to call Gretchen fat and not even pretty, because no one was as pretty as Regina.. The
Popular clique in my school were the really beautiful/handsome kids, the girls would always make
rude remarks about other girls in other cliques. They would say they were "fat and ugly" "four eyed
loser" "band geek"; there were also ruder remarks that I don't think are appropriate. Another gender
stereotype from "Mean Girls" would be Karen being a dumb blonde girl. This is considered a gender
stereotype because society has portrayed blonde women as being dumb in comedy movies/television
shows and cartoons. Damien was the stereotypical homosexual that was boldly flamboyant. In
society he would know as the stereotypical gay guy who has always been gay since he was born. He
was in a outcast clique with Janis because they didn't fit in to other cliques since Damien was gay
and Janis was labeled as a lesbian (even though she wasn't). Sometimes being labeled as
homosexual is not always considered genetic because people start rumors about other being gay and
it sticks. I feel like the clique Damien is put in should be considered sexual inequality because he is
considered to be an outcast for being

Examples Of Peer Relationships In Mean Girls

  • 1. Examples Of Peer Relationships In Mean Girls In the film "Mean Girls" there were many types of peer relationships expressed. Friendships are described as a reciprocal liking, trust, and loyalty between all participating dyadic parties. An example in the film is the relationship that Damian and Janis hold because they are loyal to each other and the liking is mutual. Peer acceptance is to the degree one is liked by their peers. In the film Aaron Samuels is very much liked by his peers. Perceived popular is a child that is considered popular based on their peers' perceptions. Regina George is a prime example of teenage girl perceived as popular. When students described Regina George in the film these type of comments were made, "Regina George is flawless", "One time she punched me in the faced. It was awesome.", and "she always looks fierce." Cliques are polyadic social groups that are voluntary. A main clique in the movie is "The Plastics" which consists of Regina George, Gretchen Wieners, and Karen Smith. These forms of peer relationships are a lot more complex than just a group of friends, these relationships of dynamic in early adolescence. Friendship Regina George's friend group is comprised of Karen and Gretchen. Their friendship is difficult at times. They share secrets among each other, for example the burn book is a secret between the girls. When Cady is included into the friend group she is then entrusted with the group's secrets. This group of "Plastics" are friends by choice and always ask for each other's ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. Essay on Blake Snyder Beat Sheet Blake Snyder Beat Sheet October 19 2012 Mean girls Opening image: The first image seen is of a girl's parents telling their daughter goodbye and to have a good first day at school. The girl's mother is crying because unlike most kids her daughter has never been to a real school. She is sixteen years old and has been homeschooled all her life. Theme stated: "I had a lot of friends in Africa. But so far, none in Evanston." This line basically foreshadows how she has no friends at her new school so far... Which tells us she will meet new friends and people and that we'll just have to wait and find out whom and how it goes. Setup: In the first ten minutes of the movie we learn that Cady is our main character and she has moved from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was going good until Regina decided to speak to Aaron at the Halloween party and lied to him saying that Cady was crazy and obsessed with him, here are some examples "I know she's kind of socially retarded and weird, but she's my friend, so just promise me you won't make fun of her." "She's like a little girl. She, like, writes all over her notebook, "Mrs. Aaron Samuels." And she made this T–shirt that says "I heart Aaron" and she wears it under all her clothes." And "And OK, look, I'm not saying she's a stalker, but she saved this Kleenex you used and she said she's going do some kind of African voodoo with it to make you like her." Regina then kissed them, after all these lies Aaron became a bit freaked out (but we can tell he likes Cady) and starts dating Regina. Aaron offers to tutor Cady afterschool and agrees to not tell Regina just in case she'd be mad. While tutoring they kiss and then breakaway because he doesn't find it fair for Regina. Cady has a huge party and lots of people went including Aaron. When Aaron finds himself upstairs in Cady's room he stares at a photo of Cady when she was younger on an elephant. Aaron smiles helplessly and a song starts playing. Now that everything in the break into three is done, Aaron smiles when Cady is going to try something new and not talk behind anyone's back and when she gets a 98 in a math test Aaron says "Welcome back nerd" with a smile. • 5. Analysis Of Mean Girls In our world today, there are many different types of cultures. In America especially, there is so much diversity within culture that it's what makes America what it is today. What is culture you may ask? Culture is basically a human's way of living life through values, beliefs, behavior, and material objects. In the well–known movie, Mean Girls, there are a lot of different types and aspects of culture throughout the movie. The movie Mean Girls is about a girl named Cady Heron who lived in Africa and was homeschooled for most of her life, has to attend a public high school called North Shore. She is clueless at first and after a while she makes friends with a group of popular girls known as the Plastics. She fits in quickly and tries to adapt through high school. There are different types of cultures and subcultures at North Shore such as the Plastics, the Jocks, the Nerds, the Cool African Americans, the Cool Asians, the Foreigners, and the Losers. Everyone at North Shore high wants to be like the Plastics so some of the girls like to copy everything the Plastics do such as the way they speak and dress. In addition to that all the students are desperate to fit in so in order for them to do that they have to value sex, drinking, partying, makeup, and other typical teenage stuff. Mean Girls did in fact have a lot of different types of cultural aspects to it and there are strong examples to prove this. In the movie there were a lot of different types of subcultures. When Cady first walks into the lunchroom she sees different types of cliques (aka subcultures) such as the Plastics, the Preps, the Jocks, the Nerds, the Cool African Americans, the Cool Asians, the Foreigners, and the Losers. A subculture is certain parts of a person's culture that share characteristics that makes it stand out from focusing on one culture primarily. One example of a subculture is the Plastics. They're a group of girls who value looking beautiful, dating, and being popular. The Plastics are looked up to in by all the girls in the school. In one part in the movie Regina George had holes in her shirt which was done by Janice in order to make her feel embarrassed. Regina didn't care and continued on with her day and the whole ... • 7. The Possibility of Evil by Shirley Jackson Shirley Jackson emphasizes appearance vs. reality in the short story "The Possibility of Evil" because looks can be deceiving. Looks can shape how we think of people and in reality they could be the opposite. Shirley Jackson's short story "The Possibility of Evil" is set in the 1950's in a small town that reveals the contradiction between appearances vs. reality. In the story it states, "The sun was shining, the air was fresh and clear after the nights heavy rain, and everything in Miss Strangeworths little town looked washed and bright" (Jackson, 223) Miss Strangeworths town seems nice and perfect. Everyone knows each other very well but are all oblivious to the fact that each and every one of them have evil lurking inside of them. In the short story "Lessons of Love" by Judith Ortiz Cofer, the Puerto Rican girl thinks of the senior as a very perfect and attractive person. But after he kisses her, she realizes that he is no longer what she had thought about him and is just a player who enjoys playing with the hearts of many girls. Even though something or someone may look good on the outside, they may not be the same on the inside. Therefore, I think that appearance vs. reality was shown in the setting of this story. Appearance vs. reality is shown in "The Possibility of Evil" by Shirley Jackson through character development because looks can be deceiving. In the story it states that she always uses "a dull stub of pencil and always prints in a child block print" ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is targeted at a specific group or individual such as teenage girls. An ideology is the beliefs, ideas and values that are emboldened by the media. • 11. Mean Girls Analysis Mean Girls Analysis Mean Girls, a popular comedic film, is about high school drama in its highest form – wanting to be popular. It mainly follows a girl named Cady, a new student looking to make and please friends. She agrees to spy on one of her new friends' enemies, Regina George, to help destroy her life. However, along the way, Cady finds herself becoming more and more like Regina George and the rest of the "plastics" or the mean girls. In this paper, there's going to be an analysis of this film, because there seems to be a deeper meaning than just the comedic shell. And while this is a favorite movie of many teenage girls because of its relatable humor regarding popularity and girl–on–girl drama, like name calling and backstabbing, it also sheds light on the subject of bullying, including peer–pressure, and how it really can affect someone's life in a very negative manner. Regina George is the main girl of the "plastics". She will do anything and everything to stay on top, including selling her friends out just to make them look bad. You may have known someone like this in high school, but why are they like this, you might ask? The movie does a good job about making the subject humorous, but it seems as if it's also trying to prove a point and bring awareness to young girls who watch the film, without necessarily being too serious. There are also many examples of power, peer pressure, and bullying in this movie, which are all looming issues in today's schools. Cady ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 25. Character Analysis Of Regina George And Kate Sanders Just as rules and boundaries exist in most of the world, they also make their way into the movie making industry, in particularly in Hollywood films. Hollywood moviemakers focus on relatable, real–life possible events, which they dramatize and turn into big hit blockbusters. In order to categorize their many productions, they use the notion of genre and create their own rules/qualifications to be able to classify movies as such. This categorization even persists within the movies themselves, especially within the extremely popular teen girl genre. Teen girl films focus primarily on the stereotypical junior high/high school life of an adolescent female. Thus, the narrative of the films must contain specific rules and character types that encompass high school life. To make a real seller, the most often–used character type is the so–called 'mean' or 'popular' girl in a social hierarchy based school. In order to be identified as the 'mean and popular' girl character, one must be physically attractive, judgmental/cruel, and be the center of attention. To understand this archetypal character type it is best to examine the two most 'infamous' popular girls in the industry, Regina George, and Kate Sanders. Although, Regina George and Kate Sanders exist in two very distinct narratives, their personality traits are not at all different or unique. Interestingly, since The Lizzie McGuire Movie was produced before Mean Girls, Kate Sanders ends up being the first typical ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 29. Midnight in Paris Frank Vargas Professor Beverly Whitson English 52 24 March 2014 The Era We Live In What's one of the worst parts about living life? It can be not being able to find that one true love in life, or even living with regret in your heart. I always hear conversations about people being together with a person they don't love, or people talking about something they wish they could have done when they had the chance, but were too concerned about another factor in their lives, now having to live life full of regrets. Like Gil Pender says, "That's just the era we line in..." Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Rolling Stone Magazines Peter Travers, Wilson's performance is pitch perfect to capturing the humor and gravity that Gil Pender's role demanded. I have to agree with Travers because Wilson took on a few scenes where we were able to recognize his comedic rooms from other films. USA Today's Claudia Puig doesn't applaud Wilson's performance as I do. She refers to his work to less than convincing of a novelist with a passion for Fitzgerald or Hemingway like he does in the film. Puig argues that unlike his comedy films like Wedding Crashers or Zoolander, Wilson does a mediocre job on the film. Based on the film, Wilson is able to keep the audience thinking and believe that he is a dedicated and talented writer. Pete Hammond of Box Office Magazine, declares Allen's romantic comedy to be a delightful film giving Gil what he wants every night taking him back to the golden era of 1920's Paris, to be Wilson's best work in years. Hammond took the words right out of my mouth; it's indeed Wilson's best work since his comedy film, Wedding Crashers. Jon Maguire from Confessions of a Film Critic, sums that Wilson plays a key performance to a film romanticizing Paris' beauty a good one. Of course I'm not arguing with Maguire, only adding onto what he critiques is that Wilson keeps he audience engaged for the duration of the film keeping us on the edge of our seats. • 39. Film Analysis Of Mean Girls Mean Girls directed by Mark Waters is a coming of age movie which follows the high school journey of Cady Heron. Coming from being home schooled her whole life, 16 year old Cady must survive high school as she learns it is completely different from the environment in Africa. Mean Girls addresses subjects such as beauty is only skin deep in a light hearted and comedic manner, making it a movie that can be enjoyed by all ages while still spreading awareness. Moving from a secluded friendly place in Africa, Cady has no experience of growing up in the torture that is high school. She meets 2 new people on her first day who teach her about the school. Not academically, but socially. She is instantly consumed by the drama that is high school with no sense of how ruthless high school can be. Even though Mean Girls highly exaggerates high school, I think the way they did so was super effective in telling a story. I thoroughly enjoyed the comparison of the animal world which is the world Cady used to come from when living in Africa, to "girl world" which is where she lives now. As I see it, animal world is full of savage creatures and harm where all things are resolved with violence whereas in girl world, to survive you must be sneaky and malicious which were all things Cady had to learn to adapt to. I think this comparison was used to show how when we are thrown into a new situation, we can feel lost as if we were in a jungle in fear of our new surroundings. But in Mean Girls, Cady ... Throughout the film we hear the narration of Cady and witness the Bildungsroman of her character. Bildungsroman is known as "a specific subgenre of coming–of–age stories that focus on the protagonist's psychological and moral growth. Hence, character change is extremely important" (Kusina, 2015). She has a major culture shock when she goes from being homeschooled in Africa to being a part of the most popular clique in school: "The Plastics". In the beginning of the movie, Cady could be described as nerdy, awkward, and a typical home schooled "virgin". She makes friends with Damian (Daniel Franzese) and Janis Ian (Lizzy Caplan) who tell her all about the politics of their high school. Janis and Damian give their outsider perspective multitudes of cliques at their high school. A clip from Mean Girls that showed each of the social groups, or cliques, in their high school. She is the most unpredictable, selfish, sarcastic, manipulative, lying villain, oh and not to mention the most stylish one too! That being some of the reasons why she is one of the best/worst villains. All the girls either hated her or wanted to be her and, the boys well, they loved her! In the movie this character is the leader of a group called, " The plastics", in the high school of, North Shore. The group of the "plastics" was known as teen royalty. This group was made of Regina George and her two side kicks. Regina's side kicks names were Karen Smith, and Gretchen Wieners. Karen smith is described as, "The dumbest girl you'll ever meet" nothing more, nothing less. Then there was Gretchen, she was rich and popular because her father was the "inventor of toaster strudel." Not only that, but she knew everything about everyone in the school, they said that why her hair looked so big because it,"was full of secrets." Regina treated them absolutely terrible and, she considered them her friends, that being said you can only imagine how she treats everyone else. Stereotypes In Mean Girls Stereotypes with Comedic Value The teen comedy Mean Girls, directed by Mark Waters, welcomes the protagonist (Cady Heron) into the stereotypical high school setting after being raised in Africa for all of her educational path. Cady, never being in a public–school setting, comes across the Plastics: Regina George (unspoken leader), Gretchen Wieners (gossip queen), and Karen Smith (the stupid, clueless one), who are at the top of the social pyramid. Befriended by the girls, Cady is left to decide whether or not she belongs in this clique or if her place exists in a different one. The use of satirist and comedic scenes throughout the film show the different sexist lenses and stereotypes that women are viewed with. Women are perceived in many films, books, television shows, etc. that they are "airheads." In the film Karen asks Cady "So, if you're from Africa...why are you white?" The comment made in the scene presents Karen to be incompetent in the way of not having common sense, which displays the stereotype of women being "airheads". This stereotype presents humorous intent because no one would expect this type of question to be asked and this is manifested in Rappaport's Punchline surprise theory; mainly focused on "...unexpected positive events that are experienced as a happy shock" (pg.16). The theory comes into play because of the blunt question that was insisted, which comes as a surprise to the audience. Nevertheless, the surprise factor brings humor into the scene. The ... These actors portray first loves and heartbreak that tugs on your heartstrings beautifully just wanting and waiting for more. Starting off the movie with a beautiful scene looking across a sunrise–filled lake, which it gives off a comfortable, warm feeling to the viewers at home or in the theater. Then it pans out to an elder Noah Calhoun (played by James Garner) taking his daily medicine in a nursing home. Third scene shows an also elderly Allie Hamilton (Gena Rowlands) looking over the lake from her bedroom window. A nurse is asking her several questions about how she is feeling and what she would like to do that day. Allie doesn't give off any interest in doing anything the nurse is suggesting. Noah enters her room with a notebook, offering to read to her. The nurse insists that Allie should do something else but Allie quickly accepts Noah's offer and sits herself down to listen to him read from the notebook that which she wrote many years ago. • 49. Mean Girls Essay Personally, my life and high school was affected by Mean Girls and I didn't even know it. At my high school, we had a film fest every year, where each grade made a film and they were judged by the teachers. The winning grade got some sort of prize or points towards field day. Our senior year– we made a parody of Mean Girls. It wasn't quite Mean Girls, but most of the movie was some reference or another to the iconic movie. That was the year that I sat down and watched Mean Girls for the first time– I did not want to go to our film fest and not understand the references. Finally I understood why everyone was obsessed with this movie– and our film fest was all the better. Just a few nights ago– my friend from high school came to visit me– and we ended up watching some of our old film fest movies. Three out of four movies that we made during our high school career had references to Mean Girls– ones that I didn't notice the first time I saw them because I had not seen the movie. Now I am able to look back and smile at these movies even more, understanding the cultural significance that Mean Girls had on my high school– that was about as far from the high school in the movie as you can get. High School is such a difficult time for anyone– it's a time where we are all trying to figure out who we are and what type of adults we will be. There is freedom in choice of classes, who you hang out with, driving, dating, etc. It is no wonder that some people use this time to bully and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Generation And The Millennial Generation While driving on I–95 into the city of Philadelphia, I see dozens of advertisements to the left and right of me, some promoting education, others jewelry, food, concerts and sporting events. Everywhere you look, you are bound to faced with some sort of promotion. Whether it is a billboard while driving, commercial while watching TV, or web advertisement while searching the Internet, advertisements are everywhere. Their main purpose is to inform or persuade us, the consumers, into buying the newest product the company is promoting at that time. In our society we do not realize the effects marketers have on consumers. It is easy for them to deceive people by using different techniques, like using words such as "sale, convenient, latest," or even by having appealing pictures going along with products. The main target audience that marketers aim to influence is the millennial generation. So much of the millennial generation is influenced through social media and technology. With such an exuberant use and understanding of technology, marketers realized how to target the most vulnerable group of consumers. Marketer's upfront goal is being able to sell the certain product, the underlying goal is persuading young consumers with various marketing techniques leading to negative consequences amongst teens. • 61. Can We Make A Change? Can We Make a Change? Adults and peers at my high school all had expectations of me. One expectation they had of me was to be less than "the best". A very ironic expectation for one to place on another, especially in a school setting. Then one day I exceeded that expectation. I was told I would be the valedictorian along with my best friend, because we both had 4.0 GPA's. I thought I had finally exceeded the expectation other people had of me. Those who wanted to limit me, couldn't fathom the idea of me being the best. They lashed out. Following that I received some depressing news, which was the Lee County Board of Education would only allow for each school to have one valedictorian. From this experience I learned not to allow anyone's opinion or expectation to limit me in any way. Too often we are expected to be a certain way and fall short of those expectations. When we fall short we are belittled for being who we are. Media often exemplifies this very issue in many forms. Mean Girls, The Help, and "Pretty Hurts" are portrayals of how the influence of worldly expectations has caused discrimination in the American society. One movie that vividly depicts how cruel teenage girls can be to other peers for not meeting their expectations is Mean Girls, directed by Mark Waters. His character is very romantic and faithful and the actor expressed these traits very well. For instance, in the scene he first meets her he looks at her with loving eyes, his eyebrows are raised a bit as he cannot stop admiring her. When other women try to talk to him, he lets them see their attempts are futile via tone changes and hands crossed on his chest, which express his love and faithfulness. Many people see this movie as a funny satirical and exaggerated take on American high school but in reality it has a much deeper meaning to it. It shows her pretending to be friends with the popular group "The Plastics" so that she can find out their secrets and report back to her other, less popular friends. • 69. The Reality Of Hollywood Schools Vs. Reality Hollywood schools vs reality A person might be afraid of the "mean girl" group, or about what the "dumb jocks" say. Hollywood makes it seem different than what the reality actually is. Maybe that's why high schoolers may be a little disappointed when they don't see chandeliers, fog machines, or sparkling lights at their prom. Some kids are afraid of the first day of middle school. They're are preparing themselves for that harsh mean girl click they may have seen on tv. Or may be afraid that the boys in the older grade than them would shove the in their locker. While bullying is very real, and everyone should take it for caution, some things may not be what they seem as portrayed in Hollywood. Bullying is a serious thing and the state of New York has even taken it to the extents of finning a parent up to $250 or 15 days in jail. The popular movie, Mean Girls, made in 2004, stars a girl named Cady, and which she is friends with "unpopular" people. She groups up with the Plastics to get closer with her enemies. In the end hope to sabotage the "famous" Regina George by giving her protein bars to make her gain weight, even though she want to lose three pounds. Cady even got Regina's friends to turn against her. Again, bullying is real, but bullying in real life is much more subtle nowadays. Most people would think that it wouldn't be the smartest idea to leave their sixteen year old child alone for a day. Well, Cady's parents didn't. In that time Cadey had a party, got ... Tinfish-Personal Narrative Once upon a time, in a town called Athens nestled in the northeastern section of the state of Georgia, there was a boy and a girl who, even though they thought they were the most unlikely of lovers, fell madly in love. The story begins in November of 2012, when a junior guy named Clarence at the University of Georgia was getting ready to play a show with his band Tinfish at Bar South, one of the numerous times that he has played in downtown Athens, hoping for the day that an agent standing in the crowd digs his guitar playing and decides to extend the offer of a luxurious record deal. However, this night wouldn't turn out to be so fortunate. The bar was packed, even though Tinfish hadn't received a record deal yet, they were still extraordinarily ... He didn't say it because he thought Bailey would say it back, because he actually thought that would be the last thing she would do, on account of his now hideous features. He said it because he just felt like it was the right thing to say, as he continuously thought it the past few months. Bailey looks at Clarence, and softly responds with the same three words that Clarence had just bravely forced out of his mouth, "I love you too, Clarence". For the first time since awakening from his coma, Clarence didn't feel ugly. He instead was flooded with happiness so intense that he swore it was the happiest he has ever felt in his life. He felt like he was the princely figure that this Beauty so much ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 73. They're are preparing themselves for that harsh, "mean girl" clique they may have seen on T.V. They may also be afraid of the boys in the older grade that would shove you in their locker. While bullying is very real, and everyone should be vigilant for it, some things may not be portrayed as in Hollywood. Bullying is a serious thing and the state of New York has even taken it to the extents of finning a parent up to $250 or 15 days in jail. Cady even got Regina's friends to turn against her. Bullying is real, but not as far fetched as they like to play in the movies. Most people would think that it wouldn't be the smartest idea to leave their 16 year old child alone for a day, but Cady's parents obviously weren't like most. • 75. Film Analysis Of The Movie Mean Girls In today's world bullying is a significant problem not only affecting America but the whole world. If you believed it was hard for you to go to school when you were young you won't believe how much harder it is to be a teenager today. The movie "Mean Girls" is a valuable movie because, although in a comedic sense it offers an insight into the bullying aspects of high school and how it affects teen girls. The viscous cycle of rumors not fitting in and doing anything and everything to fit in along with the emotional scars that bullying leaves behind. The film "Mean Girls" follows a young teen that has never been exposed to high school life her name is Cady Heron. She starts high school and she is so naïve about everything that goes on in school and believes everyone is nice. Once she gets a glimpse of the "plastics" she's mesmerized by how cool and confident they are. Regina George is the one in charge of the plastics the "Queen Bee". She has two minions Gretchen Wieners and Karen Smith. Life is perfect for the plastics or so it seems. Cady Heron gets invited to join the plastics and that's when she realizes little by little on what it takes to be cool (Messick Waters, 2004). The film "Mean Girls" connects with its target audience which consists of teenagers by using humor. Most of the movie is funny but there is an underlying message that is so subtly intertwined to show a lesson without it being so in your face. There's a moment in the movie where Cady is faced with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 77. Summary Of Teenager Cady's 'Mean Girls' Teenager Cady Heron was educated in Africa by her zoologist parents. After 12 years of being in Africa, her family moves back to the United States, in the suburbs of Illinois. Cady is unprepared for her first day of public high school, but with the help of Janis and Damien she learns about various cliques. Janis and Damien warn her to avoid the school's most exclusive clique, the trio of girls called the Plastics led by Regina. Of course, the Plastics take interest in Cady and invite her to go shopping with them. Janis decides to hatch a plan to get revenge on Regina using Cady since she was accepted into the Plastics. Once Cady is a part of the Plastics, she learns about Regina's top secret book (the "Burn Book") filled with vicious rumors, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I feel like this shows that there are gender stereotypes, but it doesn't always have to be pointed out by a guy, it could be pointed out by another female. The Plastics put that into view especially when bashing other girls and guys in their classes. For instance, Regina made comments about joining the Mathletes was "social suicide", and then when Regina made a derogatory joke about Janis' sexuality. Gender stereotypes start from cliques, especially those cliques who look down on others. Regina even use to call Gretchen fat and not even pretty, because no one was as pretty as Regina.. The Popular clique in my school were the really beautiful/handsome kids, the girls would always make rude remarks about other girls in other cliques. They would say they were "fat and ugly" "four eyed loser" "band geek"; there were also ruder remarks that I don't think are appropriate. Another gender stereotype from "Mean Girls" would be Karen being a dumb blonde girl. This is considered a gender stereotype because society has portrayed blonde women as being dumb in comedy movies/television shows and cartoons. Damien was the stereotypical homosexual that was boldly flamboyant. In society he would know as the stereotypical gay guy who has always been gay since he was born. He was in a outcast clique with Janis because they didn't fit in to other cliques since Damien was gay and Janis was labeled as a lesbian (even though she wasn't). Sometimes being labeled as homosexual is not always considered genetic because people start rumors about other being gay and it sticks. I feel like the clique Damien is put in should be considered sexual inequality because he is considered to be an outcast for being ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
