When I used to drink milkshakes at Burger King as a kid, I thought they were normal milkshakes
made with the basic ingredients; milk, ice cream, and strawberries. I never would have thought,
especially as a kid, that this wasn't the case. I never thought that instead, Burger King would be
using 59 different kinds of acetates, acids, and oils for their milkshakes. When I was a kid, I loved

My Wishes In My Life
Every week would be something new: good or bad. As I was growing up at the end of the week my
grandparents, whom I had lived with, would make my sister, brother, and me milkshakes and we
would sit outside, look at stars, and talk about how our past week went. When it was occurring I had
just thought of the delicious milkshake that I would enjoy and the wishes I would make, but I had
recently realized that is what laid the foundation of who I am today.
Typically we would always make the milkshake first, with our choice of our favorite ice cream.
Then we would sit outside and look for shooting stars. When we found a shooting star we would
make a wish. My grandma always asked us about what we had wished for, without giving our exact
wish we would elaborate on what it was about. For my wishes, it would always be about my dad or
my mom. At the time my dad was in prison and before he had gone away he was the adult I was
closest to. It was always hard for me to talk about these wishes. I still have the memories of my dad
first being sent to jail and talking to him through a glass window; also taking a trip to the prison,

Al's Diner down on the corner of fourth and maple street is James's favourite joint. The place is

balls than I even thought possible. I looked down at the rubber non–slip covers I had pulled over a
worn–out pair of sneakers, and realized how temporary I was. If I couldn't keep up, I'd be handing in
my shoe covers and going home before the dinner rush even started.
I signed in, and it was time to find my place in the organized chaos. I met the supervisor responsible
for training me by the drive through window, and between orders from customers she directed me to
the "fountain" area, where drinks and desserts were prepared. It was hardly more than a corner, with
sticky metal containers of fruit and candy flavors embedded in the counter. It faced a soda dispenser,
and an ice cream dispenser that I was about to become very familiar with. My job for the day was to
make drinks and desserts as they were ordered at the drive through window. Simple, right? On

My Worst Day
Have you ever just had a bad day? One where you just can't wait to get home and officially say that
the day is finally done? I know that I have had my fair share of them, but going to my house and
hiding away was never how I dealt with it. Whenever I had a rough day, my brother and I zoomed
over to grab something sweet to drink and talk about whatever we needed to. I soon learned that
even the worst days can always get better, you just needed a milkshake.
I was around 13 when a tradition had started between myself and my only brother, Jonah. Jonah had
just recently turned 16 and had just received a car, and could not be more thrilled to get out on the
open road! This tradition began on a cold day in November after school, I had just gotten into
Jonah's car and huffed out a long breath, the cold air being visibly seen inside the car. He had just

Personal Importance: The milkshake is my favorite fast food. It became a family tradition to stop for

Personal Importance: There are many things to put on a hamburger, but I prefer mine with just

Dieting is increasingly popular as people try to fit into the thin western ideal of beauty. Theories for
the failure of dieting include the restraint theory, while it has been suggested that the key to success
is the amount of attention we give to the detail of our food.
The restraint theory (Herman and Mack) suggests that restraining our food intake actually increases
the risk of overeating, which is why many diets fail and some people even end up putting more
weight on. Herman and Polivy (1984) developed the boundary model to explain this. According to
this model, dieters have a larger range between their hunger and satiety levels, so it takes them ...
He points out that the behaviour of restricting anorexics cannot be explained by this theory. If
restricting food intake leads to over eating, how do they manage to starve themselves? However, it
can be argued that as anorexia is a mental disorder, its behaviour cannot be generalised with dieters,
to whom this theory is relevant.
This theory also has real life implications for treatment, as obese individuals are often told to diet.
But according to this theory, this will result in over–eating, which may make the patient depressed
and so they over–eat even more. A limitation of this theory is that it offers no alternative for these
people.
An explanation for the success of dieting has been proposed by Redden (2008), who states that the
key to success is detail. Instead of looking at their meals as 'yet another salad', Redden suggests
dieters should concentrate on details of the meal (such as tomato, lettuce, ect.). This will prevent
dieters becoming bored with their food so they are less likely to break their diet and eat something
unhealthy.
Redden carried out a study to support this hypothesis. She gave 135 people 22 jelly beans each, one
at a time. Each time a bean was dispensed, they were either given general information about it (e.g.
'bean number 7') or more specific details (e.g. 'cherry flavoured bean number 7'). Participants who
saw the general information become bored with the task quicker and those who saw details enjoyed
the task more. This

Film Analysis: The Thin Blue Line
The thin blue line is a late 70s documentary that analyzes the murder case of the officer Robert
Wood. The two prime suspects are Randall dale Adams that was found guilty and David Harris. As
we can see in this documentary Errol Morris is trying to prove Randall Adams innocence by
showing us persuasive evidence. The evidence that I found more persuasive were Randall Adams's
timeline, the stolen car and murder weapon, the milkshake found on the side of the road and Davis
Harris background history.
In my opinion, Randall Adams timeline was the most persuasive evidence because it shows us that
he is a trustworthy person. On the other hand, Errol Morris shows us that David Harris timeline
didn't match persuading us to believe that he was hiding something. Randall Adams claimed that he

Since the beginning of the documentary Randall Adams is clearly saying the truth because the time
when they left the theater and when back home matches perfectly. To make his story more credible,
Randal Adams gave specific details such as that they were smoking marijuana and drinking in the
car and the name of the show he was watching when he was at the motel. Another piece of evidence
that I found persuasive was the stolen car and the murder weapon. When David Harris and Randall
Adams meet for the first time, Harris never said the car was stolen and he also lied about his age. A
reckless 16–year–old kid driving a stolen car in the night shows us that he was capable of
committing crimes and it wasn't his first time doing so.
