Milkshake Effect
Gaining weight may dull the mind to the joy we get from sugary and oily nourishments, inciting us
to eat a larger number of treats and cake than we did when we were thinner, research appears. A
proportional effect is found in medication clients, who in the long run require more cocaine or
heroin keeping in mind the end goal to complete their unique high.
In a study distributed Sept. 29 in the Journal of Neuroscience, scientists checked the brains of ladies
as they drank a milkshake. They saw the sugary drink originated a zone known as the striatum. A
large portion of a year later, the scientists repeated the trial on the same ladies some of whom had
put on some weight. The more weight the ladies had placed on in the meantime, the less their brains

Abstaining from food may change how the cerebrum reactions to stretch, so that whenever we end

Obesity may disable memory, in any event for ladies after menopause. A study distributed July 14 in
the Journal of the American Geriatric Society took a gander at memory test scores for 8,745 ladies
ages 65 to 79. The analysts found a 1–point increment in a lady's body mass record (BMI) was
connected with a 1–point diminish on a 100–point memory test.
Hormones discharged by fat could disable memory, the analysts said. These hormones can bring
about annoyance, which may influence comprehension.
Various demerits related to obesity for all age groups are:
1.It causes burden, stress, disability and death.
2.People who have body mass index greater than 30 are on the verge of premature death.
3.It is researched that impact from obesity may be riskier than poverty, smoking and drinking.
4.A person who is suffering from obesity is 2 times more diabetes

Wendy Rowe
Hi, girls. I hope you are feeling well! In this post, I would like to feature a Blueberry Milkshake
recipe that I found in the book, Eat Beautiful by Wendy Rowe. It is a blueberry milkshake that is
chock–full of vitamin C, and is great for those looking for a simple milkshake that is low on sugar!
Before I get started, I would like to say that this milkshake tastes "healthy," which means that it
tastes sugar–less. There is no extra honey or sugar that is added to the blueberry milkshake. It is
wonderful for your morning sustenance, or something to cheer you up on a dreary day. The below
recipe is featured on p. 78–79 of "Eat Beautiful" by Wendy Rowe and the blueberry milkshake looks
beautiful! That is what caught my attention in the first place (and ... Show more content on

Ray Kroc Golden Arches
Before Ray Kroc, no man ever thought of creating a speedy business where people can get in and
out of a restaurant in just a few minutes. No man ever thought of creating a 'fast food' restaurant that
served cheap, high quality food that also came with speedee service. Ray Kroc was able to
revolutionize America by taking the "McDonald brothers' Speedee Service System and spread it
nationwide, creating a fast food empire" (34). The golden arches have become a symbol all over the
world and this all happened because of Ray Kroc. Walt Disney has become a prominent figure
within the animation industry and he became the founder of a company that has become well known
all around America, the Walt Disney Company. To this day, the Walt Disney Company ... Show

When I used to drink milkshakes at Burger King as a kid, I thought they were normal milkshakes
made with the basic ingredients; milk, ice cream, and strawberries. I never would have thought,
especially as a kid, that this wasn't the case. I never thought that instead, Burger King would be
using 59 different kinds of acetates, acids, and oils for their milkshakes. When I was a kid, I loved
drinking these milkshakes from McDonalds, Burger King, and other fast food restaurants, but today,
I refuse to drink a milkshake from any of these places because now I know the actual ingredients
that are going into the milkshake. Using artificial flavors and coloring may make food seem more
appealing in a fast food restaurant, but it doesn't make it any healthier. Most people go to eat at a
fast food restaurant because they just need a quick bit to eat, but when people know the actual
ingredients that are in their food, it just makes the food less appealing to eat and much less
appetizing. At McDonalds, one medium order of fries is 378 calories, a 20 piece chicken McNugget
is 470 calories, and a Big Mac has 530 calories. In the United States today, many people know how
important it is for your body and health to try to eat healthy, but fast food is nowhere near healthy.
We should be lucky that the French fries at McDonalds are made with actual potatoes, but the meat

My Wishes In My Life
Every week would be something new: good or bad. As I was growing up at the end of the week my
grandparents, whom I had lived with, would make my sister, brother, and me milkshakes and we
would sit outside, look at stars, and talk about how our past week went. When it was occurring I had
just thought of the delicious milkshake that I would enjoy and the wishes I would make, but I had
recently realized that is what laid the foundation of who I am today.
Typically we would always make the milkshake first, with our choice of our favorite ice cream.
Then we would sit outside and look for shooting stars. When we found a shooting star we would
make a wish. My grandma always asked us about what we had wished for, without giving our exact
wish we would elaborate on what it was about. For my wishes, it would always be about my dad or
my mom. At the time my dad was in prison and before he had gone away he was the adult I was
closest to. It was always hard for me to talk about these wishes. I still have the memories of my dad
first being sent to jail and talking to him through a glass window; also taking a trip to the prison,
where I learned that you are not allowed to wear jeans with buttons while visiting someone, these in
which I will forever have engraved into my mind. On the other hand, we did not live with my mom
because she was working in order to provide a better life for us, her children.
No matter how hard the topic would be my grandma always tried to make it better. She

Creative Writing: Al's Diner
The bright light shines through the gap in the makeshift blanket curtain hanging from the single
window in the room, hitting the sleeping teenage boy directly in the eyes. James uses the back of his
hand to rub the sleep from his eyes and slowly rolls out of his bed. James ruffles through his
drawers and snatches the first clean white tee shirt he spots. He collects his dark wash Levi jeans
from the floor left there from the night before and he rolls the bottom of his pant leg. James collects
his switchblade from his dresser and his almost empty pack of Marlboro cigarettes then slides on his
clunky black army boots. James grabs his black leather jacket from the back of his door and heads
towards the small shared bathroom. James clutches his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Al's Diner down on the corner of fourth and maple street is James's favourite joint. The place is
coolsville. The owner, Al, is a real cat. The owner does not let no nerds, nosebleeds, germs or punks
hang in his place. The boys park the horses and head inside. The gang take a seat at their usual red
booth in the back of the diner. Pauly begins to fiddle with the tabletop jukebox and rock 'n' rock
begins to blare from the gang's table. James leans back into the worn leather booth, scopes up the
menu and glances around the place. The simple white walls are covered with different posters of
various celebrities, flags from different universities and street signs from all over the States.
Apparently ankle–bitters use their five finger discount and get all the décor for Al in return for some
ice cream during the hot summer days. Al keeps his place neat and tidy, never a speck of dirt on the
black and white polished checkered floors. If a Greaser does not knock their damn boots at the door,
Al will flip his lid. Al tried sprucing up the place with some leafy, green plants here and there, but
goofs kept chucking their butts in the pots, Al blew a gasket. There's a big, old, light–up jukebox in
the back with enough room to dance, Al has endless sides to listen to. It's a rock 'n' roll lover's
dream. Al prefers the King though, Elvis's soulful voice is usually playing from the jukebox hours
on end. Al is a real pal man to James, he let's his gang take care of business out back and all James
has to do is slide him a little bread. Sometimes Al helps out, and man he can serve a real mean
knuckle sandwich. Since the local theatre is right next door it's the perfect place to take a chick after
a quick flick. Eat a little, pay for the meal like a gentleman, twist a little, then try to cop a feel on the
way home in your set of wheels. The booths in the back of the diner are the perfect place to try to

Compare And Contrast Whitey's Ice Cream
The cream–colored ice cream begins to run out of the nozzle into a paper cup; blenders move at
high speeds, and the sound of metal slams down on a hard surface. Ice cream fan or not, several
people have encountered the Fan Food restaurant, Dairy Queen. Some people might think, "Ice
cream is ice cream. What is so special about Dairy Queen?" There are a variety of differences
between Dairy Queen and its arch rival Whities. While both businesses specialize in ice cream,
Dairy Queen will come out on top against Whiteys. Differences between the two stores are the style,
the customer service, and variety in the menu. Although both franchises serve ice cream and hold
the same job, Dairy Queen and Whitey's ice cream have different style between the two. Customers
can expect that Dairy Queen's ice cream will be out in seconds because of the fast soft serve that

Frequently, I have stopped into Whiteys, and the service is backed up and slow. I personally, have
waited in line for more than ten minutes. While at Dairy Queen, the employees have orders come in
and out at fast speeds, making the line of customers dwindle. Another little detail that has been
picked up from the two is the friendliness that Dairy Queen has. The cashier will greet the customer
with a smile and always look forward to taking his or her order for the day. When Whiteys will greet
a customer by saying in a short and monotone voice, "What can I whip up for you?" keeping the
conversation short and very sweet. Whitey's workers look as if they have just drove over a puppy or
a baby animal. The employees have yet to surprise me with a smile and happiness in their eyes. That
is a big part of stores that serve customers face–to–face. Serve the food with a smile! On the
counterclaim, both employees of the stores are working and and not standing around. All have a

Literary Devices In Mexicans Begin Jogging By Gary Soto
"Mexicans Begin Jogging" Throughout the poem "Mexicans Begin Jogging" by Gary Soto, Soto
uses a variety of literary devices such as synecdoche, comparisons, and imagery to strengthen the
diction of his poem. "Mexicans Begin Jogging" describes an average day in the life of a Mexican–
American man. When the border patrol arrives he is forced to run from the factory where he works,
even though he is a legal occupant of America. As he describes, he "Ran past the amazed crowds
that lined / The street and blurred like photographs, in rain" (13–14). This comparison is a metaphor
that compares the sight of the watching crowds to a wet photograph with running colors in order to
convey how the speaker's speed blurred his vision. This allows the reader

Narrative Essay On Meet Your Foster Mom
I fidget to find a comfortable position in the cheap plastic chair. "It's okay to be nervous," assures
Cynthia. "I'm not nervous, this chair is uncomfortable," I explain. She sighs and rolls her eyes. I
have been at a foster care center for the past three years following my parents death because I do not
have any living relatives. My Dad left me some money, but I can't spend it until I am eighteen. I've
hated living here. All the walls are painted random bright colors, the sheets are rough, and every
meal is chewy and tastes like cardboard. I finally get to move in with a pair of foster parents today.
Two people enter the room and Cynthia gets up to shake their hands. "Meet your new foster
parents," Cynthia says enthusiastically. "This is Mel, your foster mom, and Frank, your foster dad,"
says the woman. Frank passively stares past me and at the empty parking lot through the window.

Double Extra Spread With Fries And A Milkshake
Double double extra spread with fries and a milkshake. This was the disgusting old fattening diet
full of sugar and calories. Never knowing where the food is coming from, not really caring because
fast food was cheap and convenient. Jam packed foods with ingredients we can not even read are
usually the worst ones for us, but they are bought all around the world because they taste better.
Watching videos, reading articles, essays, books and simply researching food changes your whole
aspect on food and what you want to eat. The newly discovered diet is the healthiest, most rational
approach to eating due to being more knowledge on products, moderation, and money. With all of
these factors, a healthier diet can be maintained with easier ways to eat so you can enjoy food more.
First having knowledge on the product you are consuming is the most important thing to keeping
yourself healthy. Today's products are being made full of fake ingredients to make things cheaper,
easier and faster to make. Everyone enjoys processed food, it is the nature; chips, cookies, soda and
fast food is delicious. What most consumers do not know is what these companies are doing, what
we are eating, what we are buying and what we are supporting. We are dying sooner because of the
ingredients they feed us, we are eating items that are not what they are labeled as and we are buying
and supporting companies that are lying straight to our faces. There are chemicals being put in food

Descriptive Essay About Fun Weekend
The Unexpected Fun Weekend I've always enjoy spending time with my dad. He's taught me to
adventure through hunting and fishing. Ever since I was young he's been letting me tag along,
making for some pretty cool father–son bonding. That all changed when he got a girlfriend. Her
name is Lisa, I have nothing against her, actually she's a pretty cool person. However when she and
her kids are with it's hard to get any time with my dad, and her kids get really annoying fast, so you
can probably understand my limited excitement when I was about to go on a 4 hour car ride with the
bunch of them. I was also having a very exciting summer at the time and having a beach day with
friends sounded a whole lot better than spending a weekend with my family in Pierre, which is the
center of all things boring in the world. The trip had a few aspects that gave it a small probability of
fun. It was a volunteer fishing event held by Pierre's city council as a celebration for their town.
They get a few dozen volunteers to bring their boats out and take the kids out fishing for the day.
Which does sound fun, except I was going to help set up and run a booth at the event. Sitting there
in the blazing sun talking to snotty, bored, kids who were forced by their parents to be there in the
first place, all while not getting paid. But hey, maybe I had the wrong way of thinking so I decided
to go and just test how it went. We left on Friday at 4 and drove with multiple stops and didn't

Does This Milkshake Taste Funny? Essay
Does The Milkshake Taste Funny? George Stein, a college student employed for the summer by
Eastern Dairy is faced with an ethical dilemma. His co–workers don't care about proper procedures
required in ensuring that the milkshake produced during the shift is hygienic and safe for human
consumption. The milkshake that is produced is usually delivered to fast–food restaurants and
drive–ins. George had less than a minute to think about his choices and must decide if he is going to
remove the filters from the plant's piping and, thus, allow the current production run of milkshake

Paul told George that no one will know that they removed the filters, the company will save money
and they will go home on time.  Lack of supervision. George is used to being told what to do. His
parents are the ones who persuaded him to go to college. He is still young and in college, not used to
making decisions. Employees, no matter their task, must have the proper instruction and training to
ensure that they are doing their jobs correctly, and with minimal risk of error or injury. This is also
evidenced by the fact that he and Cathy had planned for Cathy to support them with her earnings
after they start their life together. Supervision influences groups' behavior towards task
accomplishment. It was only when leaders' effectiveness at different levels was considered that
performance improvement occurred. Although Reich (1994) claimed that organizations are
redesigning workplaces and work practices and enhancing workers' autonomy and responsibility to
tap their full potential, he admitted that such changes require organizing self managed groups into
teams that strictly share a common vision. George participated in the group's activities which
included story–telling and horseplay. The rest of the night crew would probably agree with Paul and
George would do the same as they have always had something in common.  Age. Ruegger and
King (1992) suggested that age is a determining factor in making ethical

themselves through compassion and repentance. Exemplifying this is one of the prison guards, who

Case Analysis of "Does This Milkshake Taste Funny?" The case "Does this milkshake taste funny?"
presents a situation, where company employees were confronted with an ethical decision. Their
thoughts and actions were shaped by several factors, including their personal moral values and the
corporate culture engendered by the management of the company for which they work. This case
provides an example of how a lack of a code of ethics or ethical training within a corporation can
lead to negative consequences. The major players in the case are the night shift employees of

The management of this corporation, however, was only interested in in the nightly completion of

influenced Paul's mindset about his own responsibility during the shift and his decision during the
ethical situation described the case. The ethical situation arose when, during one of the shifts,
George discovered that the pipeline filters were becoming clogged up with solid matter composed of
maggots that have gotten into the mix running through the production line. This disconcerted
George, but Paul told him that maggots occasionally got into the bag of ingredients for the mix and
that the filters would catch them. George stopped the pumps, cleaned the filter and the equipment
was restarted. However, it soon became apparent that the filters kept clogging up, and the process of
continuously cleaning them would not allow the workers to run the last 500 gallons of the mix. At
this point, Paul told George to run these 500 gallons without the filters, claiming that the rest of the
process will pulverize the maggots and kill any bacteria. George, however, felt uneasy about this,
thinking about the kids who would drink the milkshakes

Little over a year and a half ago, I began my employment at the local Freeburg Dairy Queen. Newly
turned sixteen and fresh on the training block, I was focused on learning the ropes and not so much

but he had completely captured my heart. Only sixteen and yet to hit puberty, I always knew there
would never be a chance of an "us," except that is until a single note changed the game. I watched
him come and go every single shift I worked for months and never once did he cease to lose my
attention. I was infatuated with him, to say the least. I'll forever remember his order, $8.51 for two
large triple berry smoothies, blended twice to ensure a silky smooth texture. That's when I pegged
him with the nickname of "Smoothie Bae" as his smoothie obsession became quite clear to see with

Personal Narrative : The Story Of Chocolate Milkshake In...
It was either a Monday or a Tuesday, that really doesn't matter, the day wasn't going very well
anyways. My mom was yelling at me for some dumb reason which probably was sane for her to do
so. I got to school at exactly 7:48. It was relatively normal I was talking with my friends and we
were having a jolly old time. I got inside the doors of the school quickly. I got pushed around at the
bottom as normal. I spilled some chocolate milkshake on my shirt I was desperate to find a trashcan.
It was awkward as I descended up the stairs. Everyone was sloshing around like melting snow in the
winter.
Around the second flight of stairs I tripped, I noticed someone pushed me extremely hard almost as
if she or he wanted to trip me and laugh at me for how stupid I looked with chocolate milkshake all
over my shirt on the stairwell. I tried to ignore them as I walked up the stairs. Another push came
by, this time it made my backpack fall onto my head. I told them very loudly, "Stop."
They continued to push me. Quinn came to my side and whispered in my ear, "You should spill your
chocolate milkshake on them." I thought about this for a while, and 1.2 seconds later I had decided
it was the most brilliant idea I had ever heard. I turned around quickly, I spilled the chocolate
milkshake all over the closest person to me. I don't necessarily remember why or how I thought that
this was so smart. I also don't know why these particular people did this. I continued up the stairs.

Steak N Shake Biography
Steak n' Shake I remember my mom had to run some errands around Evanston, and it would be one
of the funnest days we would have together. We would stop by at Steak n' Shake and have lunch. We
would talk like we were really close just like friends, but like the bestest of friends. It was a quixotic
and indescribable feeling. She listened and I talked. I wished those errands would have kept
happening but it stopped. Steak n' Shake was founded in February, 1934 in Normal, Il. Gus which
was the founder wanted the bestest burger so he would buy sirloin, t–bone, and round steaks and
grind them into patties in front of his customers. So that they would agree that they were and are
quality burgers. It has a 5 star rating in Tripadvisor from 472 reviews. So I guess it's a good place

I'm extra picky with fries, because if they have a lot of salt I won't eat the or if they're too soft.
They're fries crisp right to the perfection. They're not to salty which is also good for your health. An
exceeding amount of salt can cause an increase of blood pressure, a heart disease, and even a heart
stroke in some individuals. So next time you are feeling salty thing about consequences of too much
salt. Back to the fries I sincerely love them especially with loads of ketchup. Let's move on can we?
I'm just going to sweep up all of these mouthwatering paragraphs to add it all up. Steak N' Shake is
a family friendly that anyone will enjoy. The burgers and fries are to dies for and the milkshakes are
heavenly. Even though the restaurant might be a bit old fashion the food is up to date, but I think
that makes it genuine. Like I said before it has a 5 star on Tripadvisor but I guess I would also give
it 5 stars. I would obviously recommend it anyone and everyone. So next time you're by a Steak N'

The Acquisition Of My Current Job

12pm Christmas day, I reached the Dallas airport. Tears cascaded down my face as I try to muffle
the melancholy from my voice to say goodbye to my mother. "Goodbye mom, I love you!" as the
last word slips through my mouth there was only silence with no reply. Finally, after a few minutes
passed, she got the intrepidity to speak. "goodbye" she said as she turned and left towards the door,
without a look back she was gone. "Goodbye" was the final word I heard before boarding the

The smell reminded me of my family before the divorce; and how we used to bake cranberry orange

sweet smell, and then I saw where the luscious smell was coming from. It was a small–scaled café
that served sweet pastries and delectable sandwiches. My stomach started to rumble with all its
might. It was at that point I realized I didn 't eat anything all day. I started toward the counter to

take in the pulchritude of the café. "I will have a cranberry orange muffin and a chocolate milkshake
with a cherry on top". She wrote down my order and started to turn. "I will have that out for you in a
jiffy," she said as she started to walk towards the kitchen.
3. Finally, after 20 minutes had passed my food came out. As she placed the food in front of me, I

How To Write A Story Of A Milkshake
This is the story about a milkshake. My milkshake. Our milkshake. This milkshake is the Raspberry

Now you may be wondering about the milkshake. Raspberry Ripple. What's a milkshake got to do

milkshake was the perfect combination of vanilla and raspberry. It swirled. There's nothing better
than the perfect swirl. Now the girl was a bit more complex than the milkshake. She was smart but

First Day On The Job
First Day on the Job I've been employed in the fast food industry for just over three months now.
That may not seem like very long to someone with years of experience under their belt, but I cannot

responsibility and independence at this job than I did during four years of high school. While the
whole process has been meaningful to me, what really set it in motion was my first day behind the

No request to add cheese or hold the sauce was missed in the chaos, and the food was quickly

our manager. Between the meals she prepared, she also kept us all in order. Everyone else
multitasked just as effectively. The supervisor who was training me was also working the drive

balls than I even thought possible. I looked down at the rubber non–slip covers I had pulled over a
worn–out pair of sneakers, and realized how temporary I was. If I couldn't keep up, I'd be handing in
my shoe covers and going home before the dinner rush even started.
I signed in, and it was time to find my place in the organized chaos. I met the supervisor responsible
for training me by the drive through window, and between orders from customers she directed me to
the "fountain" area, where drinks and desserts were prepared. It was hardly more than a corner, with
sticky metal containers of fruit and candy flavors embedded in the counter. It faced a soda dispenser,

My Worst Day
Have you ever just had a bad day? One where you just can't wait to get home and officially say that
the day is finally done? I know that I have had my fair share of them, but going to my house and
hiding away was never how I dealt with it. Whenever I had a rough day, my brother and I zoomed

even the worst days can always get better, you just needed a milkshake.
I was around 13 when a tradition had started between myself and my only brother, Jonah. Jonah had
just recently turned 16 and had just received a car, and could not be more thrilled to get out on the
open road! This tradition began on a cold day in November after school, I had just gotten into
Jonah's car and huffed out a long breath, the cold air being visibly seen inside the car. He had just
sort of stared, almost longingly, out of the window and a thick silence had spread throughout the car,
just the engine and the squeal of other car's tires on the snow outside could be heard. I looked at him
for a second, in his blue and green checkered flannel and khaki pants, and realized that something
was weighing heavily on my brother. My heart lurched when he starting pulling out of the middle

Milton Hershey's Chocolate Milkshake
#1 Milkshake
Historical Importance: The milkshake became popular during the time of Prohibition. When bars
were shut down they were turned into ice cream parlors, where alcoholic drinks were replaced with
malt and syrup, making the milkshake. These parlors where the center of social life teens to gather
and helped launch a generation of romance.
Personal Importance: The milkshake is my favorite fast food. It became a family tradition to stop for
ice cream after music concerts my sister and I would perform in. We would either go to Dairy
Queen, Culver's, or McDonald's. When everyone else would get a cone or blizzard, I would always

This is the start of the mass production of the chocolate industry. In 1948, Gail Halvorsen air–
dropped parachutes with candy bars to starving children in West Berlin. Over a few years,
Halvorsen dropped 20 tons of candy bars to kids of West Berlin, giving them hope.
Personal Importance: Every time I eat a Hershey's bar, I always remember the time my family and I
went to the Hershey's chocolate factory. We had a blast walking around and riding the tour car,
watching how different candy bars were made. The best part was the free samples.
#5 Hamburger

McDonald's opened the first burger joint following Ford's model for mass production. The
hamburger is a staple that will never go away and is the first thing thought of when you think of fast
food. 75 burgers are sold every second of the day across the globe.
Personal Importance: There are many things to put on a hamburger, but I prefer mine with just

Discuss Two or More Explanations for the Success and/or...
Discuss two or more explanations for the success and/or failure of dieting (9+16 marks)
Dieting is increasingly popular as people try to fit into the thin western ideal of beauty. Theories for
the failure of dieting include the restraint theory, while it has been suggested that the key to success
is the amount of attention we give to the detail of our food.
The restraint theory (Herman and Mack) suggests that restraining our food intake actually increases
the risk of overeating, which is why many diets fail and some people even end up putting more
weight on. Herman and Polivy (1984) developed the boundary model to explain this. According to
this model, dieters have a larger range between their hunger and satiety levels, so it takes them ...

He points out that the behaviour of restricting anorexics cannot be explained by this theory. If
restricting food intake leads to over eating, how do they manage to starve themselves? However, it
can be argued that as anorexia is a mental disorder, its behaviour cannot be generalised with dieters,
to whom this theory is relevant.
This theory also has real life implications for treatment, as obese individuals are often told to diet.
But according to this theory, this will result in over–eating, which may make the patient depressed
and so they over–eat even more. A limitation of this theory is that it offers no alternative for these
people.
An explanation for the success of dieting has been proposed by Redden (2008), who states that the
key to success is detail. Instead of looking at their meals as 'yet another salad', Redden suggests
dieters should concentrate on details of the meal (such as tomato, lettuce, ect.). This will prevent
dieters becoming bored with their food so they are less likely to break their diet and eat something
unhealthy.
Redden carried out a study to support this hypothesis. She gave 135 people 22 jelly beans each, one
at a time. Each time a bean was dispensed, they were either given general information about it (e.g.
'bean number 7') or more specific details (e.g. 'cherry flavoured bean number 7'). Participants who
saw the general information become bored with the task quicker and those who saw details enjoyed
the task more. This

Film Analysis: The Thin Blue Line
The thin blue line is a late 70s documentary that analyzes the murder case of the officer Robert
Wood. The two prime suspects are Randall dale Adams that was found guilty and David Harris. As
we can see in this documentary Errol Morris is trying to prove Randall Adams innocence by
showing us persuasive evidence. The evidence that I found more persuasive were Randall Adams's
timeline, the stolen car and murder weapon, the milkshake found on the side of the road and Davis
Harris background history.
In my opinion, Randall Adams timeline was the most persuasive evidence because it shows us that
he is a trustworthy person. On the other hand, Errol Morris shows us that David Harris timeline
didn't match persuading us to believe that he was hiding something. Randall Adams claimed that he
first meet David Harris when he was walking on the road because his car ... Show more content on

After that, they when to a drive–in theater but they left early and Adams when back to the motel.
Since the beginning of the documentary Randall Adams is clearly saying the truth because the time
when they left the theater and when back home matches perfectly. To make his story more credible,
Randal Adams gave specific details such as that they were smoking marijuana and drinking in the
car and the name of the show he was watching when he was at the motel. Another piece of evidence
that I found persuasive was the stolen car and the murder weapon. When David Harris and Randall
Adams meet for the first time, Harris never said the car was stolen and he also lied about his age. A
reckless 16–year–old kid driving a stolen car in the night shows us that he was capable of
committing crimes and it wasn't his first time doing so.

Milkshake Recipe Review Essay
Almond Chocolate Milkshake Recipe Review Hi, girls! I wish you lots of love and health! In this
post, I would like to feature an Almond Chocolate Milkshake recipe that I found in the book, Eat
Beautiful by Wendy Rowe. It is a milkshake that tastes heavenly and sinful at the same time! The
end product looked beautiful, and I found it to cheer me up for the remainder of my evening after I
finished it. The below recipe is featured on p. 66–67 of "Eat Beautiful" by Wendy Rowe and the
almond chocolate milkshake pictures looks so scrumptious and naughty! I would also recommend
this drink for those who need magnesium (this is present in the cacao powder). Almond Chocolate

Milkshake Effect

  • 1. Milkshake Effect Gaining weight may dull the mind to the joy we get from sugary and oily nourishments, inciting us to eat a larger number of treats and cake than we did when we were thinner, research appears. A proportional effect is found in medication clients, who in the long run require more cocaine or heroin keeping in mind the end goal to complete their unique high. In a study distributed Sept. 29 in the Journal of Neuroscience, scientists checked the brains of ladies as they drank a milkshake. They saw the sugary drink originated a zone known as the striatum. A large portion of a year later, the scientists repeated the trial on the same ladies some of whom had put on some weight. It is a blueberry milkshake that is chock–full of vitamin C, and is great for those looking for a simple milkshake that is low on sugar! Before I get started, I would like to say that this milkshake tastes "healthy," which means that it tastes sugar–less. There is no extra honey or sugar that is added to the blueberry milkshake. It is wonderful for your morning sustenance, or something to cheer you up on a dreary day. No man ever thought of creating a 'fast food' restaurant that served cheap, high quality food that also came with speedee service. Ray Kroc was able to revolutionize America by taking the "McDonald brothers' Speedee Service System and spread it nationwide, creating a fast food empire" (34). The golden arches have become a symbol all over the world and this all happened because of Ray Kroc. When I used to drink milkshakes at Burger King as a kid, I thought they were normal milkshakes made with the basic ingredients; milk, ice cream, and strawberries. I never would have thought, especially as a kid, that this wasn't the case. I never thought that instead, Burger King would be using 59 different kinds of acetates, acids, and oils for their milkshakes. When I was a kid, I loved drinking these milkshakes from McDonalds, Burger King, and other fast food restaurants, but today, I refuse to drink a milkshake from any of these places because now I know the actual ingredients that are going into the milkshake. Using artificial flavors and coloring may make food seem more appealing in a fast food restaurant, but it doesn't make it any healthier. Most people go to eat at a fast food restaurant because they just need a quick bit to eat, but when people know the actual ingredients that are in their food, it just makes the food less appealing to eat and much less appetizing. At McDonalds, one medium order of fries is 378 calories, a 20 piece chicken McNugget is 470 calories, and a Big Mac has 530 calories. In the United States today, many people know how important it is for your body and health to try to eat healthy, but fast food is nowhere near healthy. • 4. My Wishes In My Life Every week would be something new: good or bad. As I was growing up at the end of the week my grandparents, whom I had lived with, would make my sister, brother, and me milkshakes and we would sit outside, look at stars, and talk about how our past week went. When it was occurring I had just thought of the delicious milkshake that I would enjoy and the wishes I would make, but I had recently realized that is what laid the foundation of who I am today. Typically we would always make the milkshake first, with our choice of our favorite ice cream. Then we would sit outside and look for shooting stars. When we found a shooting star we would make a wish. My grandma always asked us about what we had wished for, without giving our exact wish we would elaborate on what it was about. For my wishes, it would always be about my dad or my mom. At the time my dad was in prison and before he had gone away he was the adult I was closest to. It was always hard for me to talk about these wishes. I still have the memories of my dad first being sent to jail and talking to him through a glass window; also taking a trip to the prison, where I learned that you are not allowed to wear jeans with buttons while visiting someone, these in which I will forever have engraved into my mind. On the other hand, we did not live with my mom because she was working in order to provide a better life for us, her children. James leans back into the worn leather booth, scopes up the menu and glances around the place. The simple white walls are covered with different posters of various celebrities, flags from different universities and street signs from all over the States. Apparently ankle–bitters use their five finger discount and get all the décor for Al in return for some ice cream during the hot summer days. Al keeps his place neat and tidy, never a speck of dirt on the black and white polished checkered floors. If a Greaser does not knock their damn boots at the door, Al will flip his lid. Al tried sprucing up the place with some leafy, green plants here and there, but goofs kept chucking their butts in the pots, Al blew a gasket. There are a variety of differences between Dairy Queen and its arch rival Whities. While both businesses specialize in ice cream, Dairy Queen will come out on top against Whiteys. Differences between the two stores are the style, the customer service, and variety in the menu. The cashier will greet the customer with a smile and always look forward to taking his or her order for the day. When Whiteys will greet a customer by saying in a short and monotone voice, "What can I whip up for you?" keeping the conversation short and very sweet. Literary Devices In Mexicans Begin Jogging By Gary Soto "Mexicans Begin Jogging" Throughout the poem "Mexicans Begin Jogging" by Gary Soto, Soto uses a variety of literary devices such as synecdoche, comparisons, and imagery to strengthen the diction of his poem. "Mexicans Begin Jogging" describes an average day in the life of a Mexican– American man. When the border patrol arrives he is forced to run from the factory where he works, even though he is a legal occupant of America. As he describes, he "Ran past the amazed crowds that lined / The street and blurred like photographs, in rain" (13–14). Ever since I was young he's been letting me tag along, making for some pretty cool father–son bonding. That all changed when he got a girlfriend. Her name is Lisa, I have nothing against her, actually she's a pretty cool person. However when she and her kids are with it's hard to get any time with my dad, and her kids get really annoying fast, so you can probably understand my limited excitement when I was about to go on a 4 hour car ride with the bunch of them. I was also having a very exciting summer at the time and having a beach day with friends sounded a whole lot better than spending a weekend with my family in Pierre, which is the center of all things boring in the world. The trip had a few aspects that gave it a small probability of fun. It was a volunteer fishing event held by Pierre's city council as a celebration for their town. They get a few dozen volunteers to bring their boats out and take the kids out fishing for the day. Which does sound fun, except I was going to help set up and run a booth at the event. Sitting there in the blazing sun talking to snotty, bored, kids who were forced by their parents to be there in the first place, all while not getting paid. His co–workers don't care about proper procedures required in ensuring that the milkshake produced during the shift is hygienic and safe for human consumption. The milkshake that is produced is usually delivered to fast–food restaurants and drive–ins. George had less than a minute to think about his choices and must decide if he is going to remove the filters from the plant's piping and, thus, allow the current production run of milkshake mix to be contaminated with maggots or refuse to remove the filters, and report the maggot problem to management. Paul told George that no one will know that they removed the filters, the company will save money and they will go home on time.  Lack of supervision. George is used to being told what to do. His parents are the ones who persuaded him to go to college. He is still young and in college, not used to making decisions. Employees, no matter their task, must have the proper instruction and training to ensure that they are doing their jobs correctly, and with minimal risk of error or injury. This is also evidenced by the fact that he and Cathy had planned for Cathy to support them with her earnings after they start their life together. Supervision influences groups' behavior towards task accomplishment. It was only when leaders' effectiveness at different levels was considered that performance improvement occurred. Although Reich (1994) claimed that organizations are redesigning workplaces and work practices and enhancing workers' autonomy and responsibility to tap their full potential, he admitted that such changes require organizing self managed groups into teams that strictly share a common vision. George participated in the group's activities which included story–telling and horseplay. This disconcerted George, but Paul told him that maggots occasionally got into the bag of ingredients for the mix and that the filters would catch them. George stopped the pumps, cleaned the filter and the equipment was restarted. However, it soon became apparent that the filters kept clogging up, and the process of continuously cleaning them would not allow the workers to run the last 500 gallons of the mix. • 30. Personal Narrative Essay G,Held( personal narrative) 12pm Christmas day, I reached the Dallas airport. Tears cascaded down my face as I try to muffle the melancholy from my voice to say goodbye to my mother. "Goodbye mom, I love you!" as the last word slips through my mouth there was only silence with no reply. Finally, after a few minutes passed, she got the intrepidity to speak. "goodbye" she said as she turned and left towards the door, without a look back she was gone. "Goodbye" was the final word I heard before boarding the airplane. I glanced back at my mother, since I didn 't know if I would ever see her again, but as I looked all I saw was a cold expression. It was a visage of a formerly jubilant woman and mother of two; she was an apparition of happiness ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When I finally stepped out of the airplane, the icy air of winter hit me, my body began to shake vigorously, I grabbed my puffy black coat with great haste and felt the calming warmth immediately, and began my journey to the front door of the airport. 3. As I got closer to the front of the airport a sweet smell captivated my senses with its sweet aroma. The smell reminded me of my family before the divorce; and how we used to bake cranberry orange muffins and watch movies together and o how I missed it. I looked around to find the source of the sweet smell, and then I saw where the luscious smell was coming from. It was a small–scaled café that served sweet pastries and delectable sandwiches. My stomach started to rumble with all its might. It was at that point I realized I didn 't eat anything all day. I started toward the counter to place my order, "What can I get for you today?" said the waitress. I glanced for a moment around, to take in the pulchritude of the café. "I will have a cranberry orange muffin and a chocolate milkshake with a cherry on top". She wrote down my order and started to turn. "I will have that out for you in a jiffy," she said as she started to walk towards the kitchen. 3. Finally, after 20 minutes had passed my food came out. As she placed the food in front of me, I hurried to grab my straw and place it in my shake. I took a sip. The sweet taste was entrancing my senses. Then I started on my ... My favorite is the Funfetti cookie, which is a sugar cookie topped with vanilla cream cheese frosting and rainbow sprinkles. Schmackary's uses ingredients that many wouldn't consider to be complementary to create delicious. Priced at $2.75 each, the cookies are enormous and are the perfect size for sharing. In addition to cookies, other sweet treats like brownies, milkshakes, bars, and krispie treats are available for purchase. Although there is not much space to sit down inside of the shop, the cookies are perfect on–the–go snacks that fit into the chaotic urban lifestyle. One is able to taste the freshness of the cookies as they are made daily. Day old cookies are also sold for $1. Make sure to head over to Schmackary's if you're ever craving "lip schmackin' good cookies!" 3. Max Brenner Max Brenner is every chocolate lover's dream. That may not seem like very long to someone with years of experience under their belt, but I cannot stress enough how much these last few months have changed me. I've learned more about personal responsibility and independence at this job than I did during four years of high school. While the whole process has been meaningful to me, what really set it in motion was my first day behind the counter. My first day at a real job taught me that no one is going to hold your hand past high school, and that they shouldn't be expected to. It was amazing, especially because our cook was also our manager. Between the meals she prepared, she also kept us all in order. Everyone else multitasked just as effectively. The supervisor who was training me was also working the drive through window. Everyone was racing around in their non–slip shoes, effectively juggling more balls than I even thought possible. I looked down at the rubber non–slip covers I had pulled over a worn–out pair of sneakers, and realized how temporary I was. If I couldn't keep up, I'd be handing in my shoe covers and going home before the dinner rush even started. I signed in, and it was time to find my place in the organized chaos. I met the supervisor responsible for training me by the drive through window, and between orders from customers she directed me to the "fountain" area, where drinks and desserts were prepared. It was hardly more than a corner, with sticky metal containers of fruit and candy flavors embedded in the counter. It faced a soda dispenser, and an ice cream dispenser that I was about to become very familiar with. My job for the day was to make drinks and desserts as they were ordered at the drive through window. Simple, right? On paper, it certainly seemed that way. • 35. My Worst Day Have you ever just had a bad day? One where you just can't wait to get home and officially say that the day is finally done? I know that I have had my fair share of them, but going to my house and hiding away was never how I dealt with it. Whenever I had a rough day, my brother and I zoomed over to grab something sweet to drink and talk about whatever we needed to. I soon learned that even the worst days can always get better, you just needed a milkshake. I was around 13 when a tradition had started between myself and my only brother, Jonah. Jonah had just recently turned 16 and had just received a car, and could not be more thrilled to get out on the open road! This tradition began on a cold day in November after school, I had just gotten into Jonah's car and huffed out a long breath, the cold air being visibly seen inside the car. He had just sort of stared, almost longingly, out of the window and a thick silence had spread throughout the car, just the engine and the squeal of other car's tires on the snow outside could be heard. I looked at him for a second, in his blue and green checkered flannel and khaki pants, and realized that something was weighing heavily on my brother. My heart lurched when he starting pulling out of the middle school and turned to me with a gentle, soft expression before asking me a question that I will always remember "I have a ton of homework, and I should absolutely go home and study, but I really, really want a chocolate milkshake from the ... • 37. Discuss Two or More Explanations for the Success and/or... Discuss two or more explanations for the success and/or failure of dieting (9+16 marks) Dieting is increasingly popular as people try to fit into the thin western ideal of beauty. Theories for the failure of dieting include the restraint theory, while it has been suggested that the key to success is the amount of attention we give to the detail of our food. The restraint theory (Herman and Mack) suggests that restraining our food intake actually increases the risk of overeating, which is why many diets fail and some people even end up putting more weight on. Herman and Polivy (1984) developed the boundary model to explain this. According to this model, dieters have a larger range between their hunger and satiety levels, so it takes them ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He points out that the behaviour of restricting anorexics cannot be explained by this theory. If restricting food intake leads to over eating, how do they manage to starve themselves? However, it can be argued that as anorexia is a mental disorder, its behaviour cannot be generalised with dieters, to whom this theory is relevant. This theory also has real life implications for treatment, as obese individuals are often told to diet. But according to this theory, this will result in over–eating, which may make the patient depressed and so they over–eat even more. A limitation of this theory is that it offers no alternative for these people. An explanation for the success of dieting has been proposed by Redden (2008), who states that the key to success is detail. Instead of looking at their meals as 'yet another salad', Redden suggests dieters should concentrate on details of the meal (such as tomato, lettuce, ect.). This will prevent dieters becoming bored with their food so they are less likely to break their diet and eat something unhealthy. Redden carried out a study to support this hypothesis. She gave 135 people 22 jelly beans each, one at a time. Each time a bean was dispensed, they were either given general information about it (e.g. 'bean number 7') or more specific details (e.g. 'cherry flavoured bean number 7'). Participants who saw the general information become bored with the task quicker and those who saw details enjoyed the task more. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Film Analysis: The Thin Blue Line The thin blue line is a late 70s documentary that analyzes the murder case of the officer Robert Wood. The two prime suspects are Randall dale Adams that was found guilty and David Harris. As we can see in this documentary Errol Morris is trying to prove Randall Adams innocence by showing us persuasive evidence. The evidence that I found more persuasive were Randall Adams's timeline, the stolen car and murder weapon, the milkshake found on the side of the road and Davis Harris background history. In my opinion, Randall Adams timeline was the most persuasive evidence because it shows us that he is a trustworthy person. On the other hand, Errol Morris shows us that David Harris timeline didn't match persuading us to believe that he was hiding something. Randall Adams claimed that he first meet David Harris when he was walking on the road because his car ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another piece of evidence that I found persuasive was the stolen car and the murder weapon. When David Harris and Randall Adams meet for the first time, Harris never said the car was stolen and he also lied about his age.
