2. We have learnt from our audience feedback that it is important to have a
second opinion from someone who doesn't always see it to make sure
that it looks the best it can. During the process of making our music
video we made sure that we always had someone who listens to our
genre of music to give us opinions and feed back in relation to what we
have done and what we can do to improve it. This was beneficial for us
to give us the opportunity to either reshoot the bad parts and work on
the good parts to make it all better. The first feedback session led us to
changing a few of the shots and sorting some of the timing out where
the solos and singing didn’t really match up with the audio. I think this
feed back helped us and we just spent a day working through all the
feedback sheets making adjustments where necessary, to fit in with
what the audience was expecting from a post grunge genre video. The
main problem though was the narrative, which some people found
unclear. We had to try and find a way of adding a shot or taking one
away to make it clearer which we found quite challenging but eventually
found the right place and balance to ensure that the narrative was
clearer
3. Each feedback session led to us getting less and less negative
points, which was good because it gave me and Aiden the
indication that it was getting better and kept us positive about
our video. We found that our shots looked better now, and the
constructive criticism helped us and guide us in the right
direction to finishing our desired video. We have learnt from
our feedback that the views of others is very important in the
process of creating the best music video you can, because
they can see things that you've missed. I think all the feedback
was fair and valid and has helped us a lot because if we
hadn’t have had that session we would have probably had a
really bad video which we thought was good because we got
used to the video. We found that there is a difference between
good shots and professional looking shots.
4. Overall we found that it is important where footage is placed, in
order to present the right mood, and effect. The cutting of
shots have to be dead on to keep the video looking the best it
can, and ensure that the consumers don’t get bored of shots
and keep them wanting more. We also found that there needs
to be a balance of band footage and narrative, especially for a
genre like post grunge, because it would end us receiving a
shot completely different to what we want. And lastly we found
that we have to have second opinions regularly in order to
make sure we understand and see where we have to change;
and make sure that we were not wasting time on unnecessary
shots which wouldn't work for our video. So basically the
audience feedback is necessary in creating a music video and
benefited us a lot.
