The document summarizes audience feedback from three people on a thriller film opening.
Ms. Kaddu liked the makeup, music, and said she wanted to watch more. However, she said the credits needed changing to flow better.
Sophie, a 16-year-old target audience member, enjoyed the black and white flashbacks and unexpected locations. But also said the credits needed changing.
The teacher provided crucial feedback, noting the genre was achieved and he had questions. He too said the credits could be improved and weren't memorable.
Overall the feedback was positive about the music, makeup and locations creating intrigue. The main issue was the credits, so they were changed to flow better
3. The first audience feedback form we received was from Ms Kaddu. We also
filmed her reaction whilst playing our video to gain an even more in depth
analysis.
She has stated that she liked the make-up and music aspect of the thriller
opening. This was useful feedback because we made our music search a
priority. We finally discovered the right music to use, included it in our
thriller and we know that this was the right choice of music because Ms
Kaddu said she found it thrilling. Furthermore, she enjoyed the make-up of
our characters. This is also positive feedback to be issued because we tried a
lot of designs before eventually deciding on the one we chose. In the video,
she said that she would want to watch the rest of the film, which is another
aspect that was useful to receive.
However, she has given us some constructive criticism. She wants us to
change the credits of the video to make it flow better. This is useful because
we know what may cause the audience to dislike our video and what we need
to do in order to resolve this.
5. The second audience feedback form we received was from a student aged 16.
This form is particularly significant because she is from the target audience
we wish our video would appeal to.
She has stated that she enjoyed the flashbacks of our video. She liked that we
made the flashbacks black and white so it contrasted with the main scene. I'm
glad that an audience member noticed this because we wanted the flashbacks
to stand out. We also wanted the audience to understand the flashbacks and
see the difference from the central scene. She enjoyed the locations we used
and this is particularly relevant because we wanted to be different when it
came to choosing the locations, so it would not appear to be to cliché such
as, an abandoned house. We wanted the audience to feel as if the events
could happen to them so we chose unexpected locations such as, a beach and
a multi story car park. Thankfully, this audience member has noticed these
positive aspects of our video.
However, she has stated that she thins we could change the credits so it flows
with the rest of the video. As this was also highlighted in the first feedback
form, we will defiantly have to re consider our title choices.
7. The third set of results were taken from our media teacher. His feedback
was crucial because we took on board all of his advice throughout the
process.
He was the first participant who highlighted the genre of the physiological
thriller we were hoping to achieve. He stated that he found himself asking
a lot of questions, and that is exactly what we aimed to do. The questions
included; “ Who where the girls?” and “Why are they killing
themselves?”. These are the exact questions we hoped our audience
would contemplate as they will want to watch on to discover the answers.
He also stated that he thought the music we used was effective for a
thriller opening. This is useful because we played around with the sound a
lot in order to gain the most effective result.
However, he has also stated that he thought the credits could be improved.
He felt the credits were not memorable and they weren‟t specifically
relevant to the film. This is something that we should reconsider because
each of our participants have disliked the use of credits.
8. Overall I am very pleased with the feedback we received. They enjoyed the
key aspects of our video and have said that it was exactly what they
expected of an opening to a thriller video. This is mainly down to the use of
music, make-up and locations. As a result, the audience members would
continue to want to watch the film to have their questions answered and
they would expect to continue to feel suspense and danger.
The main issue that our participants seemed to dislike was the use of
credits. After these results, we decided to change the credits to what the
respondents would have preferred. We changed the „starring‟ credits to flow
continuously and we decided to put the title of the film at the end of the
video. Furthermore, we decided to change the font so it had a shadowy
background. This gained more of an eerie effect and the audience weren‟t
waiting for the rest of the credits whilst they should be watching the video.
