Gallup Poll Is A Sampling Of Public Opinion On The United...
A Gallup Poll is defined by Merriam–Webster Dictionary as "a sampling of public opinion on a
particular issue or of the degree of information among the public about a particular thing or of
opinion or information in a particular group taken by questioning a representative cross section."
(Merriam–Webster, n.d). The Gallup Company was developed in 1935 to gauge public opinion on
relevant topics in the United States and world–wide using surveys and statistical data. Using survey
questions to obtain data Gallup develops statistics on opinions regarding the economy, politics,
social and other issues. The Gallup World Poll "...provides these insights by continually measuring
key indicators such as Leadership, Law and Order, Food/Shelter, Work, Economics, Health,
Wellbeing, Migration, Environment, Education, Entrepreneurship, and Engaged Citizens and
demonstrating their correlations with world development indicators such as GDP and Brain Gain."
(Gallup, n.d). The article and survey selected for this evaluation is part of the Gallup Poll Social
Series, "Americans Plan on Spending a Lot More This Christmas" by Linda Saad can be found at:
http://www.gallup.com/poll/186620/americans–plan–spending–lot–christmas.aspx. The article and
contained statistics show that American's have intentions of spending quite a bit more on Christmas
than they did at this point last year. On average an intended increase of one–hundred and ten
additional dollars over last years $720. By evaluating the

Forming an Opinion of Others based on Wealth Essay
Imagine a world where everyone wears the same types and colors of clothing, and listens to the
same type of music. How would that world appear to anybody that has lived in this world? Very
likely, it would appear bland and boring; with no changes or differences in nearly all aspects of life.
For most people, what is worn and listened to, affects how others are viewed through the eyes of
everyone else and is used to express opinions and personality.
Typically, 2 people will form an opinion of others within the first 3 seconds of meeting one another.
The way these opinions are formed so quickly is, generally speaking, solely because of physical
appearance. All too often, in our society today, people are criticized for what material ... Show more

For example, it is possible to see a man wearing a pair of jeans, a t–shirt, a pair of old, worn shoes,
and a hat that appeared to have taken quite a bit of abuse over the years it had been worn, and
listening to the kind of music that he prefers, and soon thereafter, witness another man, dressed in a
full suit: silk tie, brand new shoes that were so glossy you could see your reflection in them. Then
the business man, as he will be referred to in order to make this example simpler, that passed the
average man, the one in the t–shirt and jeans, acquired the most disgusted look possible to have been
seen on a man's face, simply because of the fact that his clothes were more expensive than the
average man. The business man's face contorted in a truly repulsive fashion. His eyebrows drew
towards the center of his face and down to his nose. His eyes squinted and became even more beady
and harsh looking than they had before. His upper lip curled upwards on the right side and revealed
his blindingly white teeth. His nose wrinkled along the bridge. This is an obvious sign that the
business man believed that he was better than the average man by far.
Material possessions have become far too important in the world, and there are so many types of

Media Opinion On Public Opinion
Question 2 Public opinion is combination of elite opinion, media opinion, and mass opinion. Elite
opinion is the informed opinions of knowledgeable experts that may be presented in blogs,
university studies, or academic think–tanks. Media opinion is often associated with public opinion;
however, a large information gap is present as media opinion is often biased as it is funded by
corporate sponsorship. This trend is common during elections, where corporately backed candidates
are often portrayed favorably in debate or campaign analysis. The third aspect of public opinion is
mass opinion. Mass opinion is generally measured by polls or consumer trend analysis to make
educated assumptions about the opinions and preferences of the masses. Publications are quick to
state that public opinion supports one side of a policy issue or a social topic. There are a number of
complexities that arise when gauging public opinion. Can public opinion actually be effectively
measured? Is public opinion constant? Does the public effectively understand the question at hand?
These issues commonly arise when discussing what the public opinion actually is. The main
difficulties of analyzing public opinion is that it is fairly elastic, often changing depending on
reactions to current events, it is difficult to collect credible information to make effective
assumptions, and the public is often not informed well enough or does not understand the true
complexities of various policy issues. The

Public Opinion Polls Have Both Flaws And Encouraging Data
Before I go into answering the questions directly, it should be understood that public opinion polls
have both flaws and encouraging data. Pubic opinion polls if done appropriately will give the
general feel of how the population is feeling towards an issue. It all depends on whether the
sampling is comparative to the population, for example if you have a population of One–Hundred
Thousand and you only sample one hundred, the results will not be as accurate if the sampling size
was bigger. Also, the person conducting the interviews of these opinion polls must not be biased to
one side or the other. They must remain centered on the subject and not influence the answers that
are given. Asking specific questions about real issues can result is promising polling data. Opinion
polls should be used to collect data, and must also be used in a way that reflects accurate data. By
not having accurate data that can lead to bad decision making or lead to mistrust among the
community and the police departments. One of the biggest missuses of opinion polls was in the
presidential election in the 1948 were the Chicago Daily Tribune printed election results on bad
opinion polling and looked foolish for doing so. So these polls should be used with caution and
constructed in a way that does not allow for misrepresentation of the publics true views as it has in
the past. Well one of the first things I would tell the director before looking at the poll would be to
not base any decisions

Public Opinion Controversy
The term "cause celebre" is a French phase that means a "famous case". In other words, it is a legal
case or controversy that excites and attracts nationwide public attention, heated debates and colossal
public opinion. The birth of public opinion and of a new public sphere took place in the early
decades of the 18th Century and can be contributed to the writing and reading of sensational
courtroom literature commonly found in the immensely popular memoires judiciaries. Hot
memoires and published trial briefs, found abundant in quantity, show anecdotal evidence for their
popularity due to the number of times they were printed and cited by the public. Several texts also
describe mob scenes that surrounded bookseller's shops and lawyers' house ... Show more content on

Even in the world of literature, court cases seemed to have developed their own genre. Their
admiration was seen by the vast and swift increase of interested literate readers of both genders who
belonged to a variety of social classes. According to Hans Lusebrink, contemporary journals like, La
Gazette Universelle de Litterature, Le Journal Encyclopediquie and La Gazette et Avant–Coureur de
Litterature authenticated their popularity and equally showed the admiration of the public by the
number of subscriptions and sales of the causes celebres of Richer and of Des Essarts. Even the
younger population enthusiastically read about the causes celebre and had learnt them by heart out
of interest. Readers who were previously avid readers of novels, now started to enjoy the writings
about causes celebres. And it was seen that the reading public consisted of a large number of women
in particular. Observing this phenomena, philosopher–magistrate Malesherbes wrote in 1774, ' has

Opinions and How to Deal with Stereotypes and Disagreements
Obviously, people have a right to state their opinions. Opinions that may be hateful; opinions that
many would consider morally wrong; opinions that are the fuel for stereotyping, discrimination, and
the condemnation of things that shouldn't be condemned. But it's a free country, right? So don't these
people have the right to say these terrible things, without repercussions? I have opinions on
opinions, and this paper is a great way to learn about them. To be brutally honest, most people's
opinions on most things do not matter, in some cases there is actually a 'right' opinion, and having
the freedom to say what you want doesn't free you from the consequences of what you say. First and
foremost, your opinion is irrelevant. Here's why. All my life I have heard people get into serious,
heated debates over the stupidest things. I know that doesn't always have to happen because any
sensible person would realize that it is much easier to quietly disagree, and I've also seen people do
that. It's fine to share your thoughts on music or actors or novels or whatever you please, as long as
you understand that other people are not exact replicas of you, and they will not like the same
things. They might love something you hate, deal with it. So if your cousin loves One Direction, and
you can't stand them, please don't disown her for it. It is literally hurting no one, it's not like she's a
cannibal or something. If she is, then I guess it's okay to disown her. Unlike a person's taste

Public Opinion Poll
Public Opinion Poll In A Glimpse
Gallup Poll is an organization that conducts public opinion polling in a regular basis throughout one
hundred and forty countries around the world. It has a reputation of being the most trustworthy and
accurate in depicting the public opinions on various kinds of issues. It is also best known for the
accuracy in predicting the United States presidential elections results.
In conducting a public opinion poll, the first and foremost important concept is the basic principle of
probability sampling, or at least that is what Gallup values as an important foundation. The
probability sampling itself holds the definition as "a sampling technique wherein the samples are
gathered in a process that gives all ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The purpose of this technique is to compare the impact of different wordings and sometimes to
report the results of both wordings. All in all, it allows people to have greater understanding of the
impact of nuances in ways of addressing key issues (Newton 1–3).
After getting deeper understanding on how public opinion polls work, let us take an example of a
recent poll from gallup.com with the title of "U.S. Perceptions of Job Market Remain Weak but
Improved". From the perspective of how the poll conducted and the method used, this poll is based
on telephone interviews conducted in a time frame of June 7 to June 10, 2012 with a random sample
of 1,004 adults, aged 18 and older, in United States. It is also specified that the results are based on
the total sample of national adults, with ninety five percent confidence that the maximum margin of
sampling error is approximately four percentage points. The sample is randomly selected by
considering the gender, age, race, Hispanic ethnicity, education, region, adults in the household, and
phone status. The phone numbers are of course chosen by random while putting the demographic
characteristics into consideration. This confirms the principle of probability sampling where every
individual is guaranteed to have an equal opportunity of being selected by using the randomization
technique. The random sample is also obtained through the process of identifying the target
population through a set of characteristics

Public Opinion On The United States ' Constitution
As discussed in Chapter 10, public opinion is vital to the progress of any democracy. Noted by
Thomas Jefferson in the Declaration of Independence, "a just government must get its power fro, the
consent of the governed." This quote highlights the reality that without understanding the publics
opinion, a democratic government will fail. This same theme is echoed in the beginning of
America's constitution. Starting with the phrase "we the people," the importance of the opinions of
the common man is made a priority. In this Chapter 10 summary, I will discuss both the importance
and of public opinion and analyze whether public opinion is skewed based on certain factors. To
properly understand public opinion, it is important to know how ... Show more content on

A vast amount of public opinion polling takes place during election cycles. These polls are studied
by evaluating a sample of a population. Pollsters aim to study random sample of the population to
gain a true understand of the public opinion. Unfortunately, pollsters often run into what is known as
a sample bias. This is when a sample does not represent the public true opinion. Instead in sample
bias only a fragment of the opinions is present. Though polls are subject to error, they do have the
ability to echo the sentiments of the population. I believe this is both most effective and prevalent in
exit polls. The important of exit polls as highlighted in the article "Exit polls and voter turnout" by
Asger Lau Anderson and Thomas Jensen. In the article the authors suggest that exit polls drive
voters to get involved. They state that "In relation to the debate on the implications of exit polls, the
most important insight from our analysis is the following. It may well happen that the incentive to
vote increases after the revelation of an exit poll." By suggesting this, the authors relay the idea that
exit polls are the way to truly gain an understanding of the public opinion. Within any society, there
are opinion leaders have the power to determine much of any public opinion. This is very prevalent
in the American government because it is used as a tool to influence the population. The usage of
this can be

Should Minds Be Forced Down The Throats Of Youth?
Every generation has their own ideal of the "perfect American", and each generation seemingly
losing the right of free thinking more and more. Our society is releasing the grip on the freedom to
have an opinion that doesn't agree with the minds of others. Minds are being persuaded to think a
certain way in order to have a sense of belonging. Opinions are being forced down the throats of
youth in America. Opinions that correspond with major topics such as race, gender stereotypes, or
gender orientation are the topics that people have forced their opinion into the circuit for many
years. Through the generations the right to an opinion has changed a great deal. Going from two
major opinions to allowing for everyone to have their own is how the negative and positives of
Americans have evolved. Along with free thinking the change in work ethic is a main change that is
shown through the generations.
Americans have been about to advance with the insight of our grandparents generation by learning
through their mistakes as well as their successes. Personally my grandparents have been the ones to
go to great lengths in order to provide the best lifestyle for themselves as well as their children. They
have been positive examples of the way Americans worked hard to provide for their families.
Knowing that they weren 't going to be handed food or money they chose to work for what they
wanted to obtain. With their generation being stocked full of hard working, dedicated people it

everyone has their own opinion and in my opinion most widely held beliefs are wrong. there's many
evidence on how most widely held beliefs turn out to be wrong and this is why.
We know examples of widely held beliefs that we probably heard, but what really are widely held
beliefs. The definition of the word belief is an acceptance that a statement is true or that something
exists. the word widely means by many people or in many places. Put together basically means
beliefs that many people agree with. widely held beliefs have always been around since the
beginning because it all starts with someone believing in something true or wrong some other

widely held beliefs. A myth is a widely held but false belief or idea. A belief is an acceptance that a
statement is true or that something exists. which makes them totally different things since a belief is

The Life And Opinions Of Tristram Shandy, Sisband
"Writing, when properly managed, (as you may be sure I think mine is) is but a different name for a
conversation" (87; vol. II, ch. XI), states the narrator Tristram Shandy in Laurence Sterne's novel,
The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gentleman. Indeed, the distinctive writing style of the
novel may make one feel reminded of a real conversation due to the many interruptions and
digressions, which are typical of human face–to–face interaction and which occasionally make it
more difficult for the reader to follow the storyline.
Following the above depicted statement, Tristram proceeds by maintaining that "the truest respect

the reader or a narratee like Sir or Madam, and the resulting consequences for the respective
addressee in terms of how they are dealt with. In order to achieve this, the analysis will be confined
to only three visual elements, namely asterisks, dashes, and gaps because they are the most common
ones. Although literary researchers have already examined these particular visual elements, they
have not done so in terms of their recipients. For my analysis, it is important to distinguish between
the narratee, the implied reader, and the actual reader: According to Jahn, the narratee is the
narrator's fictional addressee (cf. N1.5.); the implied reader, as already mentioned above, is "a text's
overall projection of a reader role, superordinate to any narratee" (N2.3.2.), which means that he is
e.g. able to understand the function of all visual elements in the novel and handles them perfectly;
Which is, according to Iser, influenced by his former experience (cf. Der Akt des Lesens 66). The
actual reader, consequently, does not necessarily have this experience and might struggle during the

Defining Exit Polls And Opinion Polls
Defining Exit polls and Opinion Polls: Exit poll: A poll taken of a sample of voters as they leave a
polling place, used especially to predict the outcome of an election or determine the opinions and
characteristics of the candidates supporters . How Exit poll works: Conducting national exit polls is
an enormous undertaking, requiring as long as two years to implement. The goal of the process is to
collect information on a subset of voters that can be projected to the entire active electorate with a
high degree of confidence. Numerous obstacles, though, stand in the way, threatening to undermine
the effort and bias the results. Exit polls, like most surveys, unfold in four distinct but often
overlapping stages / Research–ers usually begin by developing procedures for drawing a
probabilistic sample of voters whose responses can be inferred to the active electorate with a high
degree of confidence. They develop a questionnaire, capable of both describing the types of voters
participating in an election as well as offering insights into the reasoning behind their choices.
Interviewers are trained and eventually employed to disseminate the questionnaires to and collect
them from sampled voters on Election Day. The process concludes with the integration of voters'
responses into a data set for analysis. The specific procedures used for each stage vary by polling
organization; therefore, I focus my discussion on those procedures developed by Warren Mitofsky,
Murray Edelman,

The Use of Polls to Analyze Public Opinion in Politics Essay
The Use of Polls to Analyze Public Opinion in Politics
Public opinion is defined in the text as "the distribution of the population's beliefs about politics and
policy issues" (Edwards, Wattenberg, and Lineberry 150). On paper, it sounds so simple; in reality it
is much more difficult to determine. The most common method for ascertaining and consolidating
public opinion has been through the widespread use of polls. Their popularity has steadily increased
over the years. One reason is that they provide an accurate, reliable representation of the opinions of
an entire population and supply decision–makers with valuable insight that may be used to
determine a future course of action. However, not all polls are created equal. Polls ... Show more

Without a randomly selected sample, the results can only be applied to the specific persons
questioned (Blake 1). This is why results from polls that allow self–selection, such as those found on
the web, or in your mailbox, automatically demand a higher level of scrutiny and skepticism.
Wording and ordering of interview questions is another area that demands major attention. Words,
terms and phrases should be stated and ordered in such a way as to create as little room for bias as
possible, and should be presented, in full, with the polling results (Blake 2). Question wording has
been called the "biggest source of bias and error in data", and is therefore an aspect of polling that
will always leave room for criticism (Gallup 4). Occasional ill–wording of questions is tolerable, if
not unavoidable, as long as it is not obviously meant to tilt the results or prompt a certain response.
However, it is not unheard of nor is it uncommon for such polling practices to occur. Some attempts
to persuade are definitely more malicious in nature than others. This is the subject of the article
"When Push Comes to Poll", by Larry Sabato and Glenn Simpson. They outline several types of
sneaky polling practices. But, by far, Sabato and Simpson agree that "negative persuasive" polls are
the worst! These polls target a specific

Examples Of Social Construction In The Chrysalids
The Problem of Social Construction, Social Convention vs. The Real Human Life Social convention
and social construction are both constructed by people, in a way for them to describe their behaviors
and opinions. Everyone is created and loved by God, for they are unique in their own ways, with a
mind and heart, and with dreams and hopes. The Chrysalids is a story that shows how imperfect
society truly is. In The Chrysalids, David and his crew are considered different, which is against the
Waknuk creed. People who are born differently or are not " the true image of God," are considered
blasphemies, which is not welcomed in the city. When social convention and social construction go

In The Chrysalids, a "deviation" is anyone or anything that does not follow the creed of Waknuk:
"Man should have one body, one head, two arms and two legs, that each hand should have four

leg shall be jointed twice and have one foot, and each foot five toes, and each toe shall end with a

Waknuk people would consider normal, would be treated unfairly. These people are considered
deviations, and are unable to complete certain tasks due to how they are born. In our world, people
may not get jobs due to their gender or age. Due to social convention, it is not very often that we see
a female construction worker, or a female police officer. " The eldest son. The heir. Waknuk should

Group Communication Analysis Paper
Analysis Paper
In my opinion, group work is a type of cooperative learning that helps people to accomplish a
certain task in a faster and more effective manner. Team working also helps to achieve the tasks that
are impossible to finish by one individual. However, if people in a group have a lot of conflicts,
group work will not be able to achieve as much as we expected. There are many reasons which lead
to dissatisfaction in group work such as individualism as well as conflicts in opinion and time.
Initially, I had a negative view on group working because of the challenges that I had. When I was in

Secondly, I want to mention our group climate. In my opinion, our group has a supportive climate.
Each member is willing to help other members in the group to complete their tasks. Our group
favors description compared to evaluation. Instead of criticizing others' behaviors and ideas, we
often tell our feelings about problems. All the group members always encourage each other to share
their opinions and feelings with the group. Even though some opinions are too conflicting, the main
purpose is trying to give all the members equal opportunities to talk about their ideas. Thus, the
success of the group is the consequence from the equal contributions of all the members. Besides, in
most of the discussions of our group, we are oriented toward problem solving; therefore, we look for
the consensus of the ideas in order to solve the problems effectively and quickly. Because our group
has many members who have senses of humor, we always maintain an interesting and comfortable
atmosphere to gain assertiveness in the group. Sometimes, Ngoc and Phong share their experiences
of how they solve their families' problems. Through perceiving more deeply about each member's
own life, we have gradually gotten closer together; therefore, we are always honest and open to each
other. Also, we do not criticize when a group member cannot finish his or her task as expected
because there are always personal issues out of the class. In addition to

Personal Political Beliefs
The saying "the personal is political" or "the private is political" is theory that was used as a rallying
slogan for second–wave feminism as well for a student movement. This theory started as a way to
change the nuclear family values and now it has developed into something more for feminism and
for political ideologies being closely interconnected. Personally, I completely agree with the
statement that "the personal is political". It would be hard, in my opinion, to separate your personal
beliefs on your political ideologies. That is like saying you love chocolate but not chocolate cake,
even though they are basically the same things. One's personal beliefs must influence their political
beliefs and vice versa. For example, I would personally never have an abortion, but I believe
everyone has the right to be able to choose for themselves, because I respect that everyone has a
choice. Which is why I would choose to vote for a pro–choice candidate, because of my beliefs.
This is an extremely important notion to understand. Politics are vastly important. If more people
understood this idea, then I believe more people would become involved in politics. There is no way
to separate one's opinions and political ideas, because our opinions on those topics stem from the
political ideas and the fact that we have to choose either one or the other. All the hot topics have
become highly politicized, so how could one not have an opinion on them? One cannot be

Essay about Public opinion on Gun Control
Public Opinion on Gun Control
The twentieth century was a time of many political assassinations and violent shootings. A nation in
shock mourned the deaths of President John Kennedy and civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr.
At the end of the twentieth century the nation endured rising rates of violent crime, with young
people frequently involved as victims and perpetrators and often armed with guns. Between July
1992, and June 30, 1999, there were 358 school–associated violent deaths in the United States,
including 255 deaths of school– aged children, or about 51 such violent deaths each year. (Schmitt

A ten year overview of the public's attitudes about the issues government ought to be addressing is

differences are what help organizations accomplish positive change.
The way I approach leading is heavily focused on how I treat my followers. This is why I prioritize
understanding how each member is unique. Understanding diversity is an essential concept to
consider when working with a group. After reflecting on the diversity rubric this is my evaluation on
how I currently perform. In addition, I had Garrett Medellin look at the diversity rubric and make
his own evaluation over how I lead through diversity. After consideration, I chose Garrett because
he has seen me in both in the mentee and mentor position. In his own leadership positions, he has an
insight to how I perform in both aspects. This puts him in the position to make a well–rounded
judgment. In brief, the diversity rubric is set up into four different categories; understanding
differences, self–understanding, cultural awareness, and interaction with others .
First off is understanding difference, I decided that I fall into level four, exploration of otherness.
The differences of people are what make the world a richer place to live in. As a leader, I engage and
encourage the different mindsets in a way that everyone

Inherit The Wind by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee
Every man has opinions, some which are stronger than others, but do these thoughts define the man?
In Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee's play Inherit The Wind opinions do not define the people
who advocate them. Each character in this play has viewpoints that influence their actions. The
bravery, honesty and determination required to express an opinion defines a person more than the
opinion, allowing one to respect a man who advocates unpopular opinions. When a man stands up
for his beliefs despite their unpopularity, he exemplifies great bravery. While Bertram Cates may not
have been the most brave man when the trial began, he later addresses the courtroom by saying, "I
feel I am... I have been convicted of violating an unjust law. I will continue in the future, as I have in
the past, to oppose this law in any way I can," (115). Bert bravely states his point of view in his
speech and makes it clear that he stands behind Darwinism. While picking the jury members,
Drummond "[objects] to all [the] 'Colonel' talk," (42) because he believes it interferes with a fair
trial. In addition to annoying Brady, Drummond objects to the title because he is brave enough to
stand up to what he thinks is unjust. On a more general note, Drummond had the bravery to go to
Hillsboro as the defense attorney for Bert even though winning the case was nearly impossible and
there was no pay. Although their opinions were not popular in the play, Bert and Drummond show
great bravery by standing up for

Racism In Angie Thomas's The Hate U Give
Angie Thomas' novel The Hate U Give is the story of a teenage girl facing racism in the world
around her. Starr Carter lives in Garden Heights, a neighborhood filled with gangs, when one of her
best friends Khalil is shot by the police, she is quick to know he had been killed because of the
racism that exists in our world. Throughout the novel, Starr is constantly trying to show the world
why Khalil died in order to get justice for his death. She does not believe he deserved to die or the
cop who shot Khalil deserves to walk free of the crime he committed. Through different characters,
the author is able to convey the message of one should not form opinions on someone or something
based on stereotypes. Throughout the novel, some characters struggle with judging people before
they know their past. Angie Thomas is able to get this across to readers not only through Starr, but
also characters such as her father Maverick, her friends from school, and even Officer Cruise, the
officer who killed Khalil.
Stereotypes in the novel are one of the main causes for Khalil's death. The officer had killed Khalil
because he had automatically assumed Khalil was a threat to him. Officer Cruise treated both Khalil
and Starr with disrespect at the time of the arrest because they are African American. When Khalil
began to move in order to ask Starr if she was okay, the Officer assumed he was reaching for a
weapon because he had already formed an opinion about Khalil based on his skin color even

: Social Position And The Attitudes Of Abortion
Whenever we hear about a social issue going that is happening, even if we do not want to be bias,
we are quick to form (or already have) personal opinions of the particular issue. Our opinions and
the way that we judge certain situations are formed through the way that we are raised, our personal
experiences, and other environmental factors such as the people that you surround yourself with and
society. The opinions that we have may also guide the way that we behave. These opinions that
shape our reactions and behavior to issues are called Attitudes. In other words, attitudes "refer to
people's evaluation of almost any aspect of the world" (Branscombe). Attitudes can either be
negative or positive, depending on the person or the situation that is being discussed. A social issue
that I feel strongly about and strongly oppose is abortion. In my essay, I will discuss how my
attitude of abortion was formed and the reasons behind my negative opinion of abortion. As many
people know, abortion is the process of terminating pregnancy. I hold a very strong explicit attitude
about abortion, meaning that my negative attitude of abortion is "consciously accessible,
controllable and easy to report" (Branscombe). I am completely against abortion because I strongly
believe that aborting a child is basically like murdering a person. Even if a baby is not born yet, after
conception, the fetus is forming and growing into a person, meaning that it is alive. In my opinion,

Abortion: A Video Analysis
My group chose to discuss abortion recovery for our You Teach presentation. Our video interviews
women who have had an abortion in the past, and also interviews a man whose ex–girlfriend got an
abortion. The video is trying to explain to people that there are effects on the woman and the couple
after she gets an abortion. The two main women that the video interviews, express how they dealt
with depression, self–confidence issues, regret, and other mental issues after their abortions. The
video also explains how abortions do not only just effect the woman in the relationship, but also the
men. My group focused on trying to be able to engage the class in an interesting way. The topic of
abortion is not something that most people want to talk about or discuss, so interesting activities

I think my group did a really good job of incorporating everyone's ideas so we all got an equal share
in the presentation. Before anything was added to our presentation we always asked the opinions of
the other group members. Everything that we presented on had an influence of every one of the
group members, so everyone was able to say they had a part in every part of the presentation. We
split our presentation into different parts and assignments, and each member had their own
influence. Overall I can say that I would not ask for a better group for the Youteach presentation. We
all were respectful of everyone's opinions, and accepting of everyone's ideas. We worked together so
I cannot say that one person put in more work than the other. Even outside of our meetings, my
group members were available to me when I needed them and vice versa. If I would not have had

Example Of Cultural Illiteracy
Cultural Illiteracy in Conversation It was not until I stepped into high school, a completely new
environment for the first time in three years, that I truly analyzed the many worldwide issues that
caused fierce debates and divided countries. It was not much later that I noticed the absurd amount
of apathy and close–mindedness that was so concretely planted into these issues. I was left
wondering, in vehement anger, where this intolerance and ignorance stemmed from, but, now, it is
quite clear the main perpetrator is cultural illiteracy. Cultural illiteracy promotes ignorance and a
reliance on opinions as facts, resulting in polarizing nationwide conversations. Cultural illiteracy can
be divided into numerous factors that narrow its complexity and make it easier to dissect, one of
those factors being the school curricula that fail to highlight aspects of certain subjects, sending
students out of the doors lacking knowledge on pertinent topics. School has failed countless
children, dooming them to the same penury as their parents because of "a fragmented curriculum."
Economics, a class that should be vast and encompass the entire social class spectrum, hardly
discusses the hardships those in poverty face and the reasons they may have ended up in that
situation. And because economics does not teach students that poverty can strike unexpectedly and
even the hardest workers may suffer its fervent force, statements like "it's their fault they're poor"
become accepted. The

Why Do American Children Are Afraid To Grow Up Essay
(first quote)We as a group are divided with these statements above. A few of us agree with the first
quote "... over the past decade or more, Americans have become... less likely to see things from a
different angle." because children can become very closed minded in society because of varying
stereotypes or because opinions from adults have been shoved down their throats and they just
began to stick with it instead of personally analyzing the situation and forming their own opinions.
3. Due to the fact that the author is correct in her statement, children now have a different
perspective on their daily tasks. Children now have a "one track mind" meaning that once they have
an idea in mind they do not want to consider any other suggestions. Adults could argue that 21st
century children have declined in their ability to elaborate on topics. For example, a teacher at our
school even claimed herself that in her 29 years of teaching she has seen a decline in the capability
to analyze topics. 4. Our group of highly split students all agree for ... Show more content on

Exercising Free Speech In Public Schools
If you are the only person who speak about a particular issue, nothing gets resolve. What you have
to say will be ignored. That's because it's only when the masses speak out, that any issue can be
resolved. So if you're amoung 101 protesters, and only 100 protesters are needed to get anybody to
listen, does it really matter whether if you're there or not? Many students, professors, and young
people are speaking out the MUN fee hikes. Since so many people are speaking out on the issue,
does it really matter if I voice my opinion or not? The other reason why I wonder why we bother
exercising free speech is because there will always be consequences for what you or I have to say.

The Life and Opinions of Tristam Shandy Essay
The term "identity" is defined by the Oxford English Dictionary as "blah blah blah". This concept
can be viewed as personal and individual to one's self, and is distinguished as an umbrella term to
attributes such as; consciousness, heritage, name, appearance, and the soul. As Sterne's novel
Tristram Shandy draws influence from John Locke's An Essay of Human Understanding, in which
Locke discusses the origin of personal identity, the individual identity is evidently reflected within
the text. The novel demonstrates Sterne's interpretation of the personal identity through the
construction of each of his unique characterisations. Tristram Shandy discusses the concept and

Sterne can be seen to draw influence from the 18th Century philosopher, John Locke. Locke
discusses the theory that individual identity is formed through consciousness and experience, and
not upon the soul and body; "this may show us wherein personal identity consists: not in the identity
of substance, but, as I have said, in the identity of consciousness." (Locke). As Tristram believes the
other misfortunate experiences within his childhood amount to his individual identity, this also
suggests an origin of identity developed from his personal experiences. He believes that
experiencing the many misfortunes such as his accidental naming and castration, disturbance as a
homunculus and broken nose reshape his identity and that he is in a sense doomed to live a
misfortunate life. In response to reading Tristram Shandy alongside the work of Locke, Heather
Keenleyside states that "such readings often understand Tristram Shandy as a novelization of
Locke's much–discussed distinction [...] On this view, Tristram Shandy follows Locke in arguing for
the priority of personal identity over the body and its associates: the family and the species, birth
and death." (Keenleyside, pg117) The protagonist states that "the soul and body are joint–sharers in
everything they get" (Sterne, pg435), composing them as separate but equal quantities of his

What Is The Opinion Of As I Lay Dying
Differing Opinions of Truth Reveal that There is No Universal Goodness
As I Lay Dying by William Faulkner is famous for its use of modernism as one story is told from a
multitude of individual perspectives in a stream–of–consciousness format. Faulkner's modernistic
writing allows the reader to delve deep into the true emotions of characters and gain a profound
understanding of events and intentions. The individual perspectives show the reader the true beliefs
of people and the communities that they fit into, which reveals fundamental differences in opinion
without saying who is "truly" good or bad. The community of the family believes what they are
doing is good because it is the best that they can and should do, while the community of all outsiders
expresses that the family's actions are actually wrong. Additionally, the community of women in the
novel generally express that there is no excuse for the family's actions, while the community of men

Symbolism In Lord Of The Glies In William Golding's Lord...
In Lord of the Flies, William Golding uses the conch to enforce that without proper leadership,
people become more prone to be disorganized and power–hungry. The conch initially serves as a
tool for the prosperity of the boys. Yet, over time, the conch loses it's value, leading to the boys
living in a disorganized society and causing some to strive for power. The effectiveness of the conch
continues on the same downward spiral and eventually becomes obsolete, as the boys fight for the
right to rule each other. When the boys reach the island, the conch is viewed as a symbol of power
and acts as a tool to organize the boys. When the conch is first discovered by Ralph and Piggy on
the beach, Piggy identifies the strange looking object in the sand and exclaims "A conch he called it.
On someone's back wall. A conch he called it. He used to blow it and then his mum would come. It's
ever so valuable–" (18). Upon the conch's discovery, the boys are clearly enthralled with it,
displaying their intentions to use the conch to call attention and create order. At this early stage of
the story, some of the boys are concerned with using tools that symbolize power and creating a
society that has a strong structure. It was understood between the boys that the conch was a tool to
allow for cooperation and understanding. Moments later, Piggy states that the boys "can use this to
call the others. They'll come when they hear us–" (20). In this passage, Piggy states his belief that

The Social Media Platform Of Tumblr
Albert Costill, writer for Search Engine Journal, reports that 66% of Tumblr users are under 35 years
old, while 39% are under the age of 25. Costill also noted that 13% of 18–to–29 year olds have used
the social media platform (Costill). These statistics prove how common and thus influential Tumblr
is amongst young adults. Tumblr is a social media website and application that allows users to make
their own personal blog with posts consisting of text, pictures, and videos. One of the main reasons
that Tumblr is so prominent amongst young people is because of the sense of anonymity that the
website can provide. Whereas normal social media platform's ask the user to identify themselves by

By setting the tone for what is popular, young people's actions are directly influenced by what they
see on Tumblr. Since whatever people on this form of social media do is instantly seen as
acceptable, young adults tend to try and conform to these trends. Typically the trends seen on
Tumblr all have a rebellious and unruly connotation, thus mostly having a negative impact on
society. Things such as drugs, alcohol, sex, and nudity are all heavily promoted on Tumblr. In
addition to these, mental illness is largely advocated for on Tumblr. Mental illnesses tend to be
glamorized online causing those who have these conditions to oftentimes become even worse. While
Tumblr is a great way to meet people who are similar to you, it can also be detrimental in the fact
that people can bond over topics such as mental illness. Surely there are many blogs offering help to
those who are suffering with these types of conditions, but the ones that gain the most attention are
the blogs that make these types of problems worse. Caitlin Dewey, reporter for The Washington
Post, says that self–harm blogs "can be disturbing: sites dedicated solely to cutting, suicide, or
eating disorders, replete with stomach–turning details, high–contrast photos, and song lyrics from
depressive teen bands" (Dewey, Self–harm). Imani McGarrell, Journalism Sophomore

A Representation Of Opinion Is Given Below
A diagrammatic representation of opinion is given below. Fig.1 Opinion mining basic flow
Opinion mining has three basic terminologies on which it can be processed. These are,
a. Object: that is the entity or commodity regarding which opinion has to be given.
b. Opinion holder: the one who gives the opinion, also known as the author.
c. Opinion: the particular statement or the corresponding opinion which is expressed by the opinion
holder or the author.
Opinion mathematically can be expressed as follows:
Opinion is a quintuple(Oj, fjk, hi, tl, SOijkl) where,
Oj¬ is the object which is to be opinionated.
F¬jk¬ is the kth feature of jth object which is opinionated. h¬i¬ is the ith opinion holder.
SO¬ijkl¬ is the sentiment for the jth object's kth feature, by ith opinion holder, at time l. tl is the
time at which the opinion is created.
Example: a certain person has to comment on a book. Then in this case the person is the opinion
holder, the book the object and "this is a good book" is the opinion.
II. BASICS OF OPINIONS AND SENTIMENT ANALYSIS
Opinions can be of varied types consisting of direct simple sentences as well as compound
sentences. These sentences can include views upfront or via comparisons. Example
"Audi A6 is better than Maruti Suzuki Alto". Here two entities are compared. Also there are
reviewers who like to talk in sarcasm and hence make it extremely complicated to analyze the

Public Opinion Survey Analysis
## This shows signs of being incomplete... look at the end ##### Public Opinion Survey analysis
A nonbiased scientific opinion poll is what is known to be the inquiry or the survey created to
determine the public's perspective concerning a specific subject or sequence of subjects. Qualified
interviewer ask people random questions. Answers are given, and explanations are made depending
on the consequences. It is significant in a random sample that each one in the population being
considered for the study has the same chance of contributing. or else, the outcome could be biased
and, consequently, not representative of the population. Representative samples are selected to
create generalizations about a certain population being studied. Polls tell us what part of the
population has a certain point of view. They do not clarify why respondents think as they do or how
to change their minds. This is social scientists and scholars' job . Polls are basically used as a
measurement that informs us of what a population feels and thinks about any given topic. This can
be beneficial in helping variety cultures comprehend one another since it allows the people to have a
chance to speak for themselves and share their perspectives instead of letting vocal media stars talk
on behalf of all. in this essay, two kinds of surveys are going to be provided the first one about

Hamilton's Questions Regarding Public Opinion
We have studied a wide array of topics during this class. However, for the purpose of this paper, I
will be confronting week six's questions regarding public opinion. I will first discuss what the
Federalists believed the role of public opinion was in our system of government. I will then discuss
what public opinion's role has become in today's system of government. Then I will consider
whether governing by public opinion is hurtful or harmful to proper governance. I will then follow
up with why governing by the polls is an abandonment of our republican form of government and
conclude with the why our official should not govern through public opinion. The Federalists
believed that many of our legislators should be in some way separated ... Show more content on

The role of these polls has become more of an instruction manual for representatives than anything
else. They vote according to the polls and what public sentiment is at the time. According to Sooner
Polls, "public opinion polls help guide policy by giving decision–makers impartial information
about what the public wants." The role of public opinion polls has become rather important in our
system of government. These polls have mixed together public opinion and legislative action. For
example, there is a daily presidential approval rating tracker that directly ties presidential action to
public opinion. According to America's Failing Experiment, polls have magnified the increasing
democratization and mixing of public opinion and presidential action. The role of these polls has
become to directly tie the public with their legislatures and the executive. These polls have further
magnified our representatives preference in being delegates rather than trustees. Our representatives
no longer represent what they believe to be our best interests, but rather what we tell them our best
interests are. These polls have served to erode the distance that the founders placed in the
constitution between the people and their Senators, Executive, and

How Campaigns Are Affected By Public Opinion
Returning to the three original polls, these measures of public opinion are useful. Throughout the
year, we have discussed how campaigns are affected by public opinion, especially because the
debates had just begun. Right now, while candidates are trying to win their respective party
nominations, they are going to try to appeal to the opinions of Republicans and Democrats
separately. Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are not trying to appeal to the same base as Donald
Trump and Jeb Bush. These polls are meaningful and candidates should be mindful of them, because
people care about this issue. The three polls I have examined are similar in numbers, but there is a
bit of disparity between the Hart Research Associates and Public Opinion Strategies and CBS News
and the New York Times poll and the poll done by Quinnipiac University. The percentage of
respondents saying that there should be a pathway to citizenship in the poll collaborated on by Hart
and Public Opinion Strategies was 47%, but 55% in the Quinnipiac poll, and 61% in the CBS/New
York Times poll for the final days of July. A 14% difference seems to be a significant difference,
especially when one number is not a majority of the population. Over the time of the debate period,
the numbers have stayed in the upper 50s. For that reason, I think that these can be meaningful polls
that represent the population as a whole. Overall, opinion seems to tend to be more in favor of
letting people stay who came here

The Importance Of Education
Society has always been built up of set regulations that define individuals and their actions in what
is acceptable and what is not. Today there is various components that are set to be socially
acceptable but in reality they aren't. Education, the press, religion and individuality are not truly
regulated to fit everyone and Mill was right to simplify the problem to be the people. Society needs
to review what is wrong with the idea of a good citizen and what it is based on and should change
the factors expressing it in order to favor everyone because otherwise we are preventing future
advances.
Education in our country is not adjusted to favor everyone, there is a limit to public education and
how far one can afford it. Public education helps students until they graduate high school but then
affordability reaches a boundary making it harder for everyone to have the same opportunities. Mill
believed that education "brings people under common influences, and gives them access to the
general stock of facts and sentiments." The education system in today's society prioritizes by
financial status and that is wrong in the sense that everyone should be educated without being
categorized by how much money they have. Someone who grows up in a poor family will be
underlooked when compared to someone from a rich family thus having different education
opportunities. Society needs to stop and look at the situation because it is filled with students who
can't have an education due to it's

Lord of the Flies by William Golding and Rosseau
Golding and Rousseau brought two different ideas using Lord of the Flies. They make you really
think on what they are trying to prove. You can agree with either of them but people have their own
opinions. Golding and Rousseau disagreed with each other's opinions on how human nature
becomes evil. If I had to choose whose opinion I agree with, then I would choose
Rousseau's.
Rousseau's beliefs regarding human nature were that people are not born evil. He believes that
people are good and act the way they want to. He does not believe that anyone can never be evil
without something causing them to be. He believes that when someone is evil or makes bad
decisions, it is because they are corrupted by society. People in society makes someone desire
something that us past the level of good to meet their needs which is by something bad. Written by
Rousseau, "Let us conclude that, being self–sufficient and subject to so few passions, he could have
no feeling or knowledge but such as befitted his situation." I believe that his statement is explaining
that when someone desires something so bad, they would do anything not even realizing what they
may be doing is wrong which helps them get what they want. It makes them think that it is okay.
Rousseau claimed that people who are born evil are ill or mental. Golding's beliefs on human nature
was mostly opposite of Rousseau's beliefs. Golding believed that everyone is born badly and are
naturally evil. He believed that people

facts. Opinions are personal and judgments. They can not be proven and opinions are based on
someone's knowledge, beliefs, views or experiences. They are sometimes written in a first person's
point of view and may differ between people and groups of people. Many opinions include words
like: are all the same, is the best, shouldn't, is more fun than or everybody /everyone. With these
patterns of words and qualities we can state something is a opinion and not a fact

I look to a few different people. This is because when I find myself in trouble it's easier to get

different people. So there are two main people that i look to for advice and there opinion is always
valued. The first person is my boyfriend. His name is Allen. His opinion and advice may not alway
be something I want to hear but it always makes sense eventually. Allen is someone who helps calm
down and think in a rational state of mind instead of a emotional state of mind. The second main
person that knows every situation I have ever been through is my mother. She is someone I have
always relied on and turn too. She has always been there for me and my children even though we
have lived 12 hours away from each other for many years now. She is the type of person who
answers the phone at any hour of the day or night. She has always told me that she would rather a
awful truth then an ugly lie. So since she has always stated this she has instilled that no matter what
is going on she will not judge. Learning this at a young age has made talking with her about

  • 1. Gallup Poll Is A Sampling Of Public Opinion On The United... A Gallup Poll is defined by Merriam–Webster Dictionary as "a sampling of public opinion on a particular issue or of the degree of information among the public about a particular thing or of opinion or information in a particular group taken by questioning a representative cross section." (Merriam–Webster, n.d). The Gallup Company was developed in 1935 to gauge public opinion on relevant topics in the United States and world–wide using surveys and statistical data. Using survey questions to obtain data Gallup develops statistics on opinions regarding the economy, politics, social and other issues. The Gallup World Poll "...provides these insights by continually measuring key indicators such as Leadership, Law and Order, Food/Shelter, Work, Economics, Health, Wellbeing, Migration, Environment, Education, Entrepreneurship, and Engaged Citizens and demonstrating their correlations with world development indicators such as GDP and Brain Gain." (Gallup, n.d). The article and survey selected for this evaluation is part of the Gallup Poll Social Series, "Americans Plan on Spending a Lot More This Christmas" by Linda Saad can be found at: http://www.gallup.com/poll/186620/americans–plan–spending–lot–christmas.aspx. The article and contained statistics show that American's have intentions of spending quite a bit more on Christmas than they did at this point last year. On average an intended increase of one–hundred and ten additional dollars over last years $720. By evaluating the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. Forming an Opinion of Others based on Wealth Essay Imagine a world where everyone wears the same types and colors of clothing, and listens to the same type of music. How would that world appear to anybody that has lived in this world? Very likely, it would appear bland and boring; with no changes or differences in nearly all aspects of life. For most people, what is worn and listened to, affects how others are viewed through the eyes of everyone else and is used to express opinions and personality. Typically, 2 people will form an opinion of others within the first 3 seconds of meeting one another. The way these opinions are formed so quickly is, generally speaking, solely because of physical appearance. All too often, in our society today, people are criticized for what material ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, it is possible to see a man wearing a pair of jeans, a t–shirt, a pair of old, worn shoes, and a hat that appeared to have taken quite a bit of abuse over the years it had been worn, and listening to the kind of music that he prefers, and soon thereafter, witness another man, dressed in a full suit: silk tie, brand new shoes that were so glossy you could see your reflection in them. Then the business man, as he will be referred to in order to make this example simpler, that passed the average man, the one in the t–shirt and jeans, acquired the most disgusted look possible to have been seen on a man's face, simply because of the fact that his clothes were more expensive than the average man. The business man's face contorted in a truly repulsive fashion. His eyebrows drew towards the center of his face and down to his nose. His eyes squinted and became even more beady and harsh looking than they had before. His upper lip curled upwards on the right side and revealed his blindingly white teeth. His nose wrinkled along the bridge. This is an obvious sign that the business man believed that he was better than the average man by far. Material possessions have become far too important in the world, and there are so many types of music in the world today that people are certainly only going to like a few kinds. Many people let such things as clothing and accessories, like iPods, sunglasses, and jackets or coats, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Media Opinion On Public Opinion Question 2 Public opinion is combination of elite opinion, media opinion, and mass opinion. Elite opinion is the informed opinions of knowledgeable experts that may be presented in blogs, university studies, or academic think–tanks. Media opinion is often associated with public opinion; however, a large information gap is present as media opinion is often biased as it is funded by corporate sponsorship. This trend is common during elections, where corporately backed candidates are often portrayed favorably in debate or campaign analysis. The third aspect of public opinion is mass opinion. Mass opinion is generally measured by polls or consumer trend analysis to make educated assumptions about the opinions and preferences of the masses. Publications are quick to state that public opinion supports one side of a policy issue or a social topic. There are a number of complexities that arise when gauging public opinion. Can public opinion actually be effectively measured? Is public opinion constant? Does the public effectively understand the question at hand? These issues commonly arise when discussing what the public opinion actually is. The main difficulties of analyzing public opinion is that it is fairly elastic, often changing depending on reactions to current events, it is difficult to collect credible information to make effective assumptions, and the public is often not informed well enough or does not understand the true complexities of various policy issues. • 9. Public Opinion Polls Have Both Flaws And Encouraging Data Before I go into answering the questions directly, it should be understood that public opinion polls have both flaws and encouraging data. Pubic opinion polls if done appropriately will give the general feel of how the population is feeling towards an issue. It all depends on whether the sampling is comparative to the population, for example if you have a population of One–Hundred Thousand and you only sample one hundred, the results will not be as accurate if the sampling size was bigger. Also, the person conducting the interviews of these opinion polls must not be biased to one side or the other. They must remain centered on the subject and not influence the answers that are given. Asking specific questions about real issues can result is promising polling data. Opinion polls should be used to collect data, and must also be used in a way that reflects accurate data. By not having accurate data that can lead to bad decision making or lead to mistrust among the community and the police departments. One of the biggest missuses of opinion polls was in the presidential election in the 1948 were the Chicago Daily Tribune printed election results on bad opinion polling and looked foolish for doing so. So these polls should be used with caution and constructed in a way that does not allow for misrepresentation of the publics true views as it has in the past. Well one of the first things I would tell the director before looking at the poll would be to not base any decisions ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Public Opinion Controversy The term "cause celebre" is a French phase that means a "famous case". In other words, it is a legal case or controversy that excites and attracts nationwide public attention, heated debates and colossal public opinion. The birth of public opinion and of a new public sphere took place in the early decades of the 18th Century and can be contributed to the writing and reading of sensational courtroom literature commonly found in the immensely popular memoires judiciaries. Hot memoires and published trial briefs, found abundant in quantity, show anecdotal evidence for their popularity due to the number of times they were printed and cited by the public. Several texts also describe mob scenes that surrounded bookseller's shops and lawyers' house ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even in the world of literature, court cases seemed to have developed their own genre. Their admiration was seen by the vast and swift increase of interested literate readers of both genders who belonged to a variety of social classes. According to Hans Lusebrink, contemporary journals like, La Gazette Universelle de Litterature, Le Journal Encyclopediquie and La Gazette et Avant–Coureur de Litterature authenticated their popularity and equally showed the admiration of the public by the number of subscriptions and sales of the causes celebres of Richer and of Des Essarts. Even the younger population enthusiastically read about the causes celebre and had learnt them by heart out of interest. Readers who were previously avid readers of novels, now started to enjoy the writings about causes celebres. And it was seen that the reading public consisted of a large number of women in particular. Observing this phenomena, philosopher–magistrate Malesherbes wrote in 1774, ' has anyone reflected on the gradual progress that printed memoirs have had on minds over the past 20 ... • 13. Opinions and How to Deal with Stereotypes and Disagreements Obviously, people have a right to state their opinions. Opinions that may be hateful; opinions that many would consider morally wrong; opinions that are the fuel for stereotyping, discrimination, and the condemnation of things that shouldn't be condemned. But it's a free country, right? So don't these people have the right to say these terrible things, without repercussions? I have opinions on opinions, and this paper is a great way to learn about them. To be brutally honest, most people's opinions on most things do not matter, in some cases there is actually a 'right' opinion, and having the freedom to say what you want doesn't free you from the consequences of what you say. First and foremost, your opinion is irrelevant. Here's why. All my life I have heard people get into serious, heated debates over the stupidest things. I know that doesn't always have to happen because any sensible person would realize that it is much easier to quietly disagree, and I've also seen people do that. It's fine to share your thoughts on music or actors or novels or whatever you please, as long as you understand that other people are not exact replicas of you, and they will not like the same things. They might love something you hate, deal with it. So if your cousin loves One Direction, and you can't stand them, please don't disown her for it. It is literally hurting no one, it's not like she's a cannibal or something. If she is, then I guess it's okay to disown her. Unlike a person's taste ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. Public Opinion Poll Public Opinion Poll In A Glimpse Gallup Poll is an organization that conducts public opinion polling in a regular basis throughout one hundred and forty countries around the world. It has a reputation of being the most trustworthy and accurate in depicting the public opinions on various kinds of issues. It is also best known for the accuracy in predicting the United States presidential elections results. In conducting a public opinion poll, the first and foremost important concept is the basic principle of probability sampling, or at least that is what Gallup values as an important foundation. The probability sampling itself holds the definition as "a sampling technique wherein the samples are gathered in a process that gives all ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The purpose of this technique is to compare the impact of different wordings and sometimes to report the results of both wordings. All in all, it allows people to have greater understanding of the impact of nuances in ways of addressing key issues (Newton 1–3). After getting deeper understanding on how public opinion polls work, let us take an example of a recent poll from gallup.com with the title of "U.S. Perceptions of Job Market Remain Weak but Improved". From the perspective of how the poll conducted and the method used, this poll is based on telephone interviews conducted in a time frame of June 7 to June 10, 2012 with a random sample of 1,004 adults, aged 18 and older, in United States. It is also specified that the results are based on the total sample of national adults, with ninety five percent confidence that the maximum margin of sampling error is approximately four percentage points. The sample is randomly selected by considering the gender, age, race, Hispanic ethnicity, education, region, adults in the household, and phone status. The phone numbers are of course chosen by random while putting the demographic characteristics into consideration. This confirms the principle of probability sampling where every individual is guaranteed to have an equal opportunity of being selected by using the randomization technique. The random sample is also obtained through the process of identifying the target population through a set of characteristics ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. Public Opinion On The United States ' Constitution As discussed in Chapter 10, public opinion is vital to the progress of any democracy. Noted by Thomas Jefferson in the Declaration of Independence, "a just government must get its power fro, the consent of the governed." This quote highlights the reality that without understanding the publics opinion, a democratic government will fail. This same theme is echoed in the beginning of America's constitution. Starting with the phrase "we the people," the importance of the opinions of the common man is made a priority. In this Chapter 10 summary, I will discuss both the importance and of public opinion and analyze whether public opinion is skewed based on certain factors. To properly understand public opinion, it is important to know how ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A vast amount of public opinion polling takes place during election cycles. These polls are studied by evaluating a sample of a population. Pollsters aim to study random sample of the population to gain a true understand of the public opinion. Unfortunately, pollsters often run into what is known as a sample bias. This is when a sample does not represent the public true opinion. Instead in sample bias only a fragment of the opinions is present. Though polls are subject to error, they do have the ability to echo the sentiments of the population. I believe this is both most effective and prevalent in exit polls. The important of exit polls as highlighted in the article "Exit polls and voter turnout" by Asger Lau Anderson and Thomas Jensen. In the article the authors suggest that exit polls drive voters to get involved. They state that "In relation to the debate on the implications of exit polls, the most important insight from our analysis is the following. It may well happen that the incentive to vote increases after the revelation of an exit poll." By suggesting this, the authors relay the idea that exit polls are the way to truly gain an understanding of the public opinion. Within any society, there are opinion leaders have the power to determine much of any public opinion. This is very prevalent in the American government because it is used as a tool to influence the population. The usage of this can be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 19. Should Minds Be Forced Down The Throats Of Youth? Every generation has their own ideal of the "perfect American", and each generation seemingly losing the right of free thinking more and more. Our society is releasing the grip on the freedom to have an opinion that doesn't agree with the minds of others. Minds are being persuaded to think a certain way in order to have a sense of belonging. Opinions are being forced down the throats of youth in America. Opinions that correspond with major topics such as race, gender stereotypes, or gender orientation are the topics that people have forced their opinion into the circuit for many years. Through the generations the right to an opinion has changed a great deal. Going from two major opinions to allowing for everyone to have their own is how the negative and positives of Americans have evolved. Along with free thinking the change in work ethic is a main change that is shown through the generations. Americans have been about to advance with the insight of our grandparents generation by learning through their mistakes as well as their successes. Personally my grandparents have been the ones to go to great lengths in order to provide the best lifestyle for themselves as well as their children. They have been positive examples of the way Americans worked hard to provide for their families. Knowing that they weren 't going to be handed food or money they chose to work for what they wanted to obtain. With their generation being stocked full of hard working, dedicated people it ... Or Where do they come from? What's the difference between a belief and a myth? Are widely held views often wrong or are such views more likely to be correct? everyone has their own opinion and in my opinion most widely held beliefs are wrong. there's many evidence on how most widely held beliefs turn out to be wrong and this is why. We know examples of widely held beliefs that we probably heard, but what really are widely held beliefs. The definition of the word belief is an acceptance that a statement is true or that something exists. the word widely means by many people or in many places. Put together basically means beliefs that many people agree with. widely held beliefs have always been around since the beginning because it all starts with someone believing in something true or wrong some other people believe it and on and on until it becomes something a large number of people believe in. A belief is an acceptance that a statement is true or that something exists. which makes them totally different things since a belief is is just believe that something is true and a myth is a story that most of the time is false but they still believe in it. they are similar but different in many ways since both of them have people that believe in them not knowing if it's ... XI), states the narrator Tristram Shandy in Laurence Sterne's novel, The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gentleman. Indeed, the distinctive writing style of the novel may make one feel reminded of a real conversation due to the many interruptions and digressions, which are typical of human face–to–face interaction and which occasionally make it more difficult for the reader to follow the storyline. Following the above depicted statement, Tristram proceeds by maintaining that "the truest respect which you can pay to the reader's understanding is to halve this matter amicably, and leave him something to imagine, ... In order to achieve this, the analysis will be confined to only three visual elements, namely asterisks, dashes, and gaps because they are the most common ones. Although literary researchers have already examined these particular visual elements, they have not done so in terms of their recipients. For my analysis, it is important to distinguish between the narratee, the implied reader, and the actual reader: According to Jahn, the narratee is the narrator's fictional addressee (cf. N1.5.); the implied reader, as already mentioned above, is "a text's overall projection of a reader role, superordinate to any narratee" (N2.3.2.), which means that he is e.g. able to understand the function of all visual elements in the novel and handles them perfectly; Which is, according to Iser, influenced by his former experience (cf. Der Akt des Lesens 66). The actual reader, consequently, does not necessarily have this experience and might struggle during the reading ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 25. Defining Exit Polls And Opinion Polls Defining Exit polls and Opinion Polls: Exit poll: A poll taken of a sample of voters as they leave a polling place, used especially to predict the outcome of an election or determine the opinions and characteristics of the candidates supporters . How Exit poll works: Conducting national exit polls is an enormous undertaking, requiring as long as two years to implement. The goal of the process is to collect information on a subset of voters that can be projected to the entire active electorate with a high degree of confidence. Numerous obstacles, though, stand in the way, threatening to undermine the effort and bias the results. Exit polls, like most surveys, unfold in four distinct but often overlapping stages / Research–ers usually begin by developing procedures for drawing a probabilistic sample of voters whose responses can be inferred to the active electorate with a high degree of confidence. They develop a questionnaire, capable of both describing the types of voters participating in an election as well as offering insights into the reasoning behind their choices. Interviewers are trained and eventually employed to disseminate the questionnaires to and collect them from sampled voters on Election Day. The process concludes with the integration of voters' responses into a data set for analysis. The specific procedures used for each stage vary by polling organization; therefore, I focus my discussion on those procedures developed by Warren Mitofsky, Murray Edelman, ... • 27. The Use of Polls to Analyze Public Opinion in Politics Essay The Use of Polls to Analyze Public Opinion in Politics Public opinion is defined in the text as "the distribution of the population's beliefs about politics and policy issues" (Edwards, Wattenberg, and Lineberry 150). On paper, it sounds so simple; in reality it is much more difficult to determine. The most common method for ascertaining and consolidating public opinion has been through the widespread use of polls. Their popularity has steadily increased over the years. One reason is that they provide an accurate, reliable representation of the opinions of an entire population and supply decision–makers with valuable insight that may be used to determine a future course of action. However, not all polls are created equal. Polls ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Without a randomly selected sample, the results can only be applied to the specific persons questioned (Blake 1). This is why results from polls that allow self–selection, such as those found on the web, or in your mailbox, automatically demand a higher level of scrutiny and skepticism. Wording and ordering of interview questions is another area that demands major attention. Words, terms and phrases should be stated and ordered in such a way as to create as little room for bias as possible, and should be presented, in full, with the polling results (Blake 2). Question wording has been called the "biggest source of bias and error in data", and is therefore an aspect of polling that will always leave room for criticism (Gallup 4). Occasional ill–wording of questions is tolerable, if not unavoidable, as long as it is not obviously meant to tilt the results or prompt a certain response. However, it is not unheard of nor is it uncommon for such polling practices to occur. Some attempts to persuade are definitely more malicious in nature than others. This is the subject of the article "When Push Comes to Poll", by Larry Sabato and Glenn Simpson. They outline several types of sneaky polling practices. But, by far, Sabato and Simpson agree that "negative persuasive" polls are the worst! These polls target a specific ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Examples Of Social Construction In The Chrysalids The Problem of Social Construction, Social Convention vs. The Real Human Life Social convention and social construction are both constructed by people, in a way for them to describe their behaviors and opinions. Everyone is created and loved by God, for they are unique in their own ways, with a mind and heart, and with dreams and hopes. The Chrysalids is a story that shows how imperfect society truly is. In The Chrysalids, David and his crew are considered different, which is against the Waknuk creed. Group Communication Analysis Paper Analysis Paper In my opinion, group work is a type of cooperative learning that helps people to accomplish a certain task in a faster and more effective manner. Team working also helps to achieve the tasks that are impossible to finish by one individual. However, if people in a group have a lot of conflicts, group work will not be able to achieve as much as we expected. There are many reasons which lead to dissatisfaction in group work such as individualism as well as conflicts in opinion and time. Even though some opinions are too conflicting, the main purpose is trying to give all the members equal opportunities to talk about their ideas. Thus, the success of the group is the consequence from the equal contributions of all the members. • 35. Personal Political Beliefs The saying "the personal is political" or "the private is political" is theory that was used as a rallying slogan for second–wave feminism as well for a student movement. This theory started as a way to change the nuclear family values and now it has developed into something more for feminism and for political ideologies being closely interconnected. Personally, I completely agree with the statement that "the personal is political". It would be hard, in my opinion, to separate your personal beliefs on your political ideologies. That is like saying you love chocolate but not chocolate cake, even though they are basically the same things. One's personal beliefs must influence their political beliefs and vice versa. For example, I would personally never have an abortion, but I believe everyone has the right to be able to choose for themselves, because I respect that everyone has a choice. Which is why I would choose to vote for a pro–choice candidate, because of my beliefs. This is an extremely important notion to understand. Politics are vastly important. If more people understood this idea, then I believe more people would become involved in politics. There is no way to separate one's opinions and political ideas, because our opinions on those topics stem from the political ideas and the fact that we have to choose either one or the other. Each person contributes a different history, culture, and set of beliefs that shaped them into who they are now. These differences should be celebrated because differences are what help organizations accomplish positive change. The way I approach leading is heavily focused on how I treat my followers. This is why I prioritize understanding how each member is unique. Understanding diversity is an essential concept to consider when working with a group. After reflecting on the diversity rubric this is my evaluation on how I currently perform. In addition, I had Garrett Medellin look at the diversity rubric and make his own evaluation over how I lead through diversity. After consideration, I chose Garrett because he has seen me in both in the mentee and mentor position. In his own leadership positions, he has an insight to how I perform in both aspects. This puts him in the position to make a well–rounded judgment. In brief, the diversity rubric is set up into four different categories; understanding differences, self–understanding, cultural awareness, and interaction with others . Lee's play Inherit The Wind opinions do not define the people who advocate them. Each character in this play has viewpoints that influence their actions. The bravery, honesty and determination required to express an opinion defines a person more than the opinion, allowing one to respect a man who advocates unpopular opinions. When a man stands up for his beliefs despite their unpopularity, he exemplifies great bravery. While Bertram Cates may not have been the most brave man when the trial began, he later addresses the courtroom by saying, "I feel I am... I have been convicted of violating an unjust law. I will continue in the future, as I have in the past, to oppose this law in any way I can," (115). Bert bravely states his point of view in his speech and makes it clear that he stands behind Darwinism. While picking the jury members, Drummond "[objects] to all [the] 'Colonel' talk," (42) because he believes it interferes with a fair trial. In addition to annoying Brady, Drummond objects to the title because he is brave enough to stand up to what he thinks is unjust. Starr Carter lives in Garden Heights, a neighborhood filled with gangs, when one of her best friends Khalil is shot by the police, she is quick to know he had been killed because of the racism that exists in our world. Throughout the novel, Starr is constantly trying to show the world why Khalil died in order to get justice for his death. She does not believe he deserved to die or the cop who shot Khalil deserves to walk free of the crime he committed. Through different characters, the author is able to convey the message of one should not form opinions on someone or something based on stereotypes. Throughout the novel, some characters struggle with judging people before they know their past. Angie Thomas is able to get this across to readers not only through Starr, but also characters such as her father Maverick, her friends from school, and even Officer Cruise, the officer who killed Khalil. Stereotypes in the novel are one of the main causes for Khalil's death. The officer had killed Khalil because he had automatically assumed Khalil was a threat to him. • 45. : Social Position And The Attitudes Of Abortion Whenever we hear about a social issue going that is happening, even if we do not want to be bias, we are quick to form (or already have) personal opinions of the particular issue. Our opinions and the way that we judge certain situations are formed through the way that we are raised, our personal experiences, and other environmental factors such as the people that you surround yourself with and society. The opinions that we have may also guide the way that we behave. These opinions that shape our reactions and behavior to issues are called Attitudes. In other words, attitudes "refer to people's evaluation of almost any aspect of the world" (Branscombe). Attitudes can either be negative or positive, depending on the person or the situation that is being discussed. A social issue that I feel strongly about and strongly oppose is abortion. In my essay, I will discuss how my attitude of abortion was formed and the reasons behind my negative opinion of abortion. As many people know, abortion is the process of terminating pregnancy. I hold a very strong explicit attitude about abortion, meaning that my negative attitude of abortion is "consciously accessible, controllable and easy to report" (Branscombe). • 49. Example Of Cultural Illiteracy Cultural Illiteracy in Conversation It was not until I stepped into high school, a completely new environment for the first time in three years, that I truly analyzed the many worldwide issues that caused fierce debates and divided countries. It was not much later that I noticed the absurd amount of apathy and close–mindedness that was so concretely planted into these issues. I was left wondering, in vehement anger, where this intolerance and ignorance stemmed from, but, now, it is quite clear the main perpetrator is cultural illiteracy. Cultural illiteracy promotes ignorance and a reliance on opinions as facts, resulting in polarizing nationwide conversations. Cultural illiteracy can be divided into numerous factors that narrow its complexity and make it easier to dissect, one of those factors being the school curricula that fail to highlight aspects of certain subjects, sending students out of the doors lacking knowledge on pertinent topics. School has failed countless children, dooming them to the same penury as their parents because of "a fragmented curriculum." Economics, a class that should be vast and encompass the entire social class spectrum, hardly discusses the hardships those in poverty face and the reasons they may have ended up in that situation. And because economics does not teach students that poverty can strike unexpectedly and even the hardest workers may suffer its fervent force, statements like "it's their fault they're poor" become accepted. A few of us agree with the first quote "... over the past decade or more, Americans have become... less likely to see things from a different angle." because children can become very closed minded in society because of varying stereotypes or because opinions from adults have been shoved down their throats and they just began to stick with it instead of personally analyzing the situation and forming their own opinions. 3. Due to the fact that the author is correct in her statement, children now have a different perspective on their daily tasks. Children now have a "one track mind" meaning that once they have an idea in mind they do not want to consider any other suggestions. Adults could argue that 21st century children have declined in their ability to elaborate on topics. • 55. The Life and Opinions of Tristam Shandy Essay The term "identity" is defined by the Oxford English Dictionary as "blah blah blah". This concept can be viewed as personal and individual to one's self, and is distinguished as an umbrella term to attributes such as; consciousness, heritage, name, appearance, and the soul. As Sterne's novel Tristram Shandy draws influence from John Locke's An Essay of Human Understanding, in which Locke discusses the origin of personal identity, the individual identity is evidently reflected within the text. Locke discusses the theory that individual identity is formed through consciousness and experience, and not upon the soul and body; "this may show us wherein personal identity consists: not in the identity of substance, but, as I have said, in the identity of consciousness." (Locke). As Tristram believes the other misfortunate experiences within his childhood amount to his individual identity, this also suggests an origin of identity developed from his personal experiences. He believes that experiencing the many misfortunes such as his accidental naming and castration, disturbance as a homunculus and broken nose reshape his identity and that he is in a sense doomed to live a misfortunate life. In Lord of the Flies, William Golding uses the conch to enforce that without proper leadership, people become more prone to be disorganized and power–hungry. The conch initially serves as a tool for the prosperity of the boys. Yet, over time, the conch loses it's value, leading to the boys living in a disorganized society and causing some to strive for power. The effectiveness of the conch continues on the same downward spiral and eventually becomes obsolete, as the boys fight for the right to rule each other. When the boys reach the island, the conch is viewed as a symbol of power and acts as a tool to organize the boys. When the conch is first discovered by Ralph and Piggy on the beach, Piggy identifies the strange looking object in the sand and exclaims "A conch he called it. On someone's back wall. Fig.1 Opinion mining basic flow Opinion mining has three basic terminologies on which it can be processed. These are, a. Object: that is the entity or commodity regarding which opinion has to be given. b. Opinion holder: the one who gives the opinion, also known as the author. c. Opinion: the particular statement or the corresponding opinion which is expressed by the opinion holder or the author. Opinion mathematically can be expressed as follows: Opinion is a quintuple(Oj, fjk, hi, tl, SOijkl) where, Oj¬ is the object which is to be opinionated. F¬jk¬ is the kth feature of jth object which is opinionated. h¬i¬ is the ith opinion holder. SO¬ijkl¬ is the sentiment for the jth object's kth feature, by ith opinion holder, at time l. tl is the time at which the opinion is created. Example: a certain person has to comment on a book. • 65. Public Opinion Survey Analysis ## This shows signs of being incomplete... look at the end ##### Public Opinion Survey analysis A nonbiased scientific opinion poll is what is known to be the inquiry or the survey created to determine the public's perspective concerning a specific subject or sequence of subjects. Qualified interviewer ask people random questions. Answers are given, and explanations are made depending on the consequences. It is significant in a random sample that each one in the population being considered for the study has the same chance of contributing. or else, the outcome could be biased and, consequently, not representative of the population. Representative samples are selected to create generalizations about a certain population being studied. Polls tell us what part of the population has a certain point of view. They do not clarify why respondents think as they do or how to change their minds. This is social scientists and scholars' job . Polls are basically used as a measurement that informs us of what a population feels and thinks about any given topic. This can be beneficial in helping variety cultures comprehend one another since it allows the people to have a chance to speak for themselves and share their perspectives instead of letting vocal media stars talk on behalf of all. in this essay, two kinds of surveys are going to be provided the first one about Nuclear Power and Public Opinion which has a strong support for its conclusion and the second one survey is about who is ... • 67. Hamilton's Questions Regarding Public Opinion We have studied a wide array of topics during this class. However, for the purpose of this paper, I will be confronting week six's questions regarding public opinion. I will first discuss what the Federalists believed the role of public opinion was in our system of government. I will then discuss what public opinion's role has become in today's system of government. Then I will consider whether governing by public opinion is hurtful or harmful to proper governance. I will then follow up with why governing by the polls is an abandonment of our republican form of government and conclude with the why our official should not govern through public opinion. The Federalists believed that many of our legislators should be in some way separated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The role of these polls has become more of an instruction manual for representatives than anything else. They vote according to the polls and what public sentiment is at the time. According to Sooner Polls, "public opinion polls help guide policy by giving decision–makers impartial information about what the public wants." The role of public opinion polls has become rather important in our system of government. These polls have mixed together public opinion and legislative action. For example, there is a daily presidential approval rating tracker that directly ties presidential action to public opinion. According to America's Failing Experiment, polls have magnified the increasing democratization and mixing of public opinion and presidential action. The role of these polls has become to directly tie the public with their legislatures and the executive. These polls have further magnified our representatives preference in being delegates rather than trustees. Our representatives no longer represent what they believe to be our best interests, but rather what we tell them our best interests are. These polls have served to erode the distance that the founders placed in the constitution between the people and their Senators, Executive, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 69. How Campaigns Are Affected By Public Opinion Returning to the three original polls, these measures of public opinion are useful. Throughout the year, we have discussed how campaigns are affected by public opinion, especially because the debates had just begun. Right now, while candidates are trying to win their respective party nominations, they are going to try to appeal to the opinions of Republicans and Democrats separately. Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are not trying to appeal to the same base as Donald Trump and Jeb Bush. These polls are meaningful and candidates should be mindful of them, because people care about this issue. The three polls I have examined are similar in numbers, but there is a bit of disparity between the Hart Research Associates and Public Opinion Strategies and CBS News and the New York Times poll and the poll done by Quinnipiac University. The percentage of respondents saying that there should be a pathway to citizenship in the poll collaborated on by Hart and Public Opinion Strategies was 47%, but 55% in the Quinnipiac poll, and 61% in the CBS/New York Times poll for the final days of July. A 14% difference seems to be a significant difference, especially when one number is not a majority of the population. Over the time of the debate period, the numbers have stayed in the upper 50s. For that reason, I think that these can be meaningful polls that represent the population as a whole. Overall, opinion seems to tend to be more in favor of letting people stay who came here ... • 71. The Importance Of Education Society has always been built up of set regulations that define individuals and their actions in what is acceptable and what is not. Today there is various components that are set to be socially acceptable but in reality they aren't. Education, the press, religion and individuality are not truly regulated to fit everyone and Mill was right to simplify the problem to be the people. Society needs to review what is wrong with the idea of a good citizen and what it is based on and should change the factors expressing it in order to favor everyone because otherwise we are preventing future advances. Education in our country is not adjusted to favor everyone, there is a limit to public education and how far one can afford it. Public education helps students until they graduate high school but then affordability reaches a boundary making it harder for everyone to have the same opportunities. Mill believed that education "brings people under common influences, and gives them access to the general stock of facts and sentiments." The education system in today's society prioritizes by financial status and that is wrong in the sense that everyone should be educated without being categorized by how much money they have. Someone who grows up in a poor family will be underlooked when compared to someone from a rich family thus having different education opportunities. Society needs to stop and look at the situation because it is filled with students who can't have an education due to it's ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 73. Lord of the Flies by William Golding and Rosseau Golding and Rousseau brought two different ideas using Lord of the Flies. They make you really think on what they are trying to prove. You can agree with either of them but people have their own opinions. Golding and Rousseau disagreed with each other's opinions on how human nature becomes evil. If I had to choose whose opinion I agree with, then I would choose Rousseau's. Rousseau's beliefs regarding human nature were that people are not born evil. He believes that people are good and act the way they want to. He does not believe that anyone can never be evil without something causing them to be. He believes that when someone is evil or makes bad decisions, it is because they are corrupted by society. People in society makes someone desire something that us past the level of good to meet their needs which is by something bad. Written by Rousseau, "Let us conclude that, being self–sufficient and subject to so few passions, he could have no feeling or knowledge but such as befitted his situation." I believe that his statement is explaining that when someone desires something so bad, they would do anything not even realizing what they may be doing is wrong which helps them get what they want. It makes them think that it is okay. Rousseau claimed that people who are born evil are ill or mental. Golding's beliefs on human nature was mostly opposite of Rousseau's beliefs. Golding believed that everyone is born badly and are naturally evil. He believed that people ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I look to a few different people. This is because when I find myself in trouble it's easier to get several different options and opinions on the situation. Why i do this is because I have advice and different approaches to the situation. So when I find myself looking for advice i rely on a handful of different people. So there are two main people that i look to for advice and there opinion is always valued. The first person is my boyfriend. His name is Allen. His opinion and advice may not alway be something I want to hear but it always makes sense eventually. Allen is someone who helps calm down and think in a rational state of mind instead of a emotional state of mind. The second main person that knows every situation I have ever been through is my mother. She is someone I have always relied on and turn too. She has always been there for me and my children even though we have lived 12 hours away from each other for many years now. She is the type of person who answers the phone at any hour of the day or night. She has always told me that she would rather a awful truth then an ugly lie. So since she has always stated this she has instilled that no matter what is going on she will not judge. Learning this at a young age has made talking with her about anything easier.
