Treatment

1. From the research I have gathered both male and female will purchase this magazine, because
of the genre I have chosen. I received my results from the questionnaire that was given out to
approximately 20 students aged 14-17, this has given me an accurate understanding of the
target age group, which allows me to work around this.
The magazine will be an even mixture of text and pictures , to keep the audience interested and
engaged and once they are engaged by the pictures they will want to read the text, there will be
a fair amount of texts but not too much so that it over powers the page and becomes tedious.
The type of magazine I have chosen is a hip-hop and R&B fusion magazine this is because these
two scored equal amount in the questionnaire.
The magazine will be A4 sized and this can be purchased in all shops such as off licence, shops
like Sainsbury's and Tesco and also whsmith, it will be priced at £1.20 as this is the total I
accumulated from the questionnaire as my target audience is young boys and girls who are not
working so £1.20 seems reasonable.
The front cover will be filled with bright colours that capture your attention from a far and it will
have a ‘female celebrity’ on the front page because this will make the reader lose interest if it
has an unfamiliar artist on the front. The font will be bold, because it is a typical characteristic of
hip hop and R&B magazines.
