From this, we learn who the magazine is designed to target.
It is clear that the magazine is targeted at 13-16 year old
girls due to the images, colours and content that is
advertised on the cover. The interviews are mainly informal
and often contain certain amounts of humour that would not
be interesting to older audiences or boys. The interviews
that are included are all exclusive so that they readers will
not have heard the information before, so the reader feels
like they are hearing it first hand. As well as music, the
magazine contains fashion and beauty features which
means the younger audience will not get bored of reading
very similar things and keeps the drawn to the content. Free
gifts are advertised on the front and the next issues free
gifts are advertised on the back page of every issue so that
the reader is persuaded to buy the next issue.
This information is useful to us as we can see the basic
outline of who the magazine is targeted at. We see that
the content is mainly aimed at teenage girls. Although the
information is useful to see the actual target audience, it
is not entirely useful as it is not quite up-to-date. They
have stated that their magazine costs £2.99 but the last
few issues have cost £3.99. This suggests that the
information we are given on the sight is not really
accurate and therefore could not be relied on.
