4. The next step I made after that was filming my music video, I got most of it done and just needed to film
the slower pase bit however I wanted to make a start on my digi-pack and webpage but i knew i had to ask
my audience what house-style they expect so i could get my brand identity and also a name for my artist. I
was in a class full of Year 11 media where most of them are my targeted audience and I asked them if they
would all watch my music video what i have produced so far and give me some feedback from the
questions i asked. I played them my video and then showed them an example of Coldplay's Album and
Webpage to show how it all merged together to create a brand identity so they could understand a bit
more what i am asking, i then gave them this questionnaire:
Unfortunately, they didnβt get
chance to answer all the
questions, but I gathered enough
information to see the house-style
they expected βpink and blackβ and
that Brielle is the better name for
my artist in a big classy font like so
- βBRIELLEβ. I also got a lot of
good feedback about my video from
them before they left, the people
who told me this was mainly my
target audience β they said that it
looks like a conventional music
video and they can tell where my
inspiration has come from. This
made me very confident with my
video as I knew I had my target
audience hooked, I just needed to
film the last bit and get my
webpage and digi-pack to match
what they are expecting.
5. After the last audience research i did i created my
digi-pack and i was then still in process of creating
my webpage, i asked a few members of my
audience about if the website i am in the
process of making is what they would expect as
my audience and after seeing the music video i
created. They said that it is what they would
expect too see as it's minimal and looks sharp,
classy & clean. Which is also what i was aiming
for. And with this in mind it is what i did and
created..
6. The last thing i asked the audience is when i
completely finished everything and asked them to
Digipack & Webpage.
watch my video and then complete the survey
about it on the online survey making webpage 1. Do you think my digipack and webpage all fit together
surveymonkey.com - with the video as one whole brand identity?
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/5FY7V96 i
asked them all the questions to do with my music Yes β No β
video after gathering some of my target audience
and showing them it. why?
.................................................................................................
.................................................................................................
2. Do you think my they look like conventional webpages
and digi-packs for the music/media industry today?
Yes β No β
why?
.................................................................................................
.................................................................................................
3. What do you think i could of done differently with my
digi-pack and webpage to fit in with my video a bit more?
I then asked them to fill that in online, i then gave .................................................................................................
them a print feedback sheet to say about my digi- .................................................................................................
pack and webpage just a couple of questions too
see if they thought that it all fit in together.
7. The Feedback from Final Questionnaires.
I asked the online survey to rate me out of 5.
-Everyone who did the survey online rated it on enjoyment of 5/5 which is brilliant to know that my
audience enjoy the music video and that all of the hard work has paid off.
-The scores i got back for if the video fitting in with the song and the genre was mainly all 5/5 and i
had 2 people say 4/5, this is also excellent feedback as most of them believe my music video
housestyle fits in perfectly with the song which means that all the audience research i did has
worked.
- The scores for the lighting were mainly 4/5 and only a couple 3/5, i believe this is perfectly
understandable as some of the places where i filmed were dull and there was no chance of getting it
to the standard I wanted, it was very poor and the cameras we used didnβt give it any justice.
However when i filmed inside the drama studio and hall and had the lights i believed this worked
and thats the reasons why i have 4βs.
- The feedback i got for my camera skills was also mainly 4/5 with a couple of 5/5s and only one
person said 3/5. I was very pleased with this as i knew my camera angles where steady and i made
sure that everyone was perfect with no wobbles.
-The feedback i got from my editing skills was mainly all 4/5 and 3 said 5/5. this is also great
feedback as i found the editing process very difficult compared to the rest and i wanted everything
to be bang on the beat and not a the tiniest bit out of sync. This took the most amount of time and
perseverance and looking at my feedback it all paid off.
9. My final opinion on the Audience Feedback
On a whole, from this feedback that i have gathered throughout the process of making my video and the
other texts, i think it has been a success. I have gained more high scores on my questionnaire then i could
of every imagined and the response i got from my audience is the best feeling ever to know that your work
has made them happy. I am happy with my overall finished and final texts β my video, digipack and
webpage.
However, if i could do it a again i would maybe make some slight changes, for example i would change
where i had my dancers as the boards would not come together and there was a slight gap in the middle
which really annoys me. Also if we had more time and better equipment i would make my video more
dramatic, maybe using a green screen to create different locations and better effects like when she blows a
kiss to actually have a kiss mark on the screen and then fads off. However, because we didnt have that i
believe my video is the best it can possibly be.
