• Kahn academy is a great tool for student to

particular video talks about how to add mixed

• This lesson plan has students work in pairs
with fraction strips. The idea is for students to
develop an understanding of equivalent
fractions. Students will be given fraction strips
labeled with 1/2, 1/3, ¼, 1/5, 1/6, 1/8. They
will then be asked questions to help them
understand how these fractions relate to each
other. Students will be asked questions such
as how many halves make a whole, or how
many fourths make a half?
