What Is Malala An Activist
An activist is a person that identifies problems and publicly changes it so people know about it.
Malala has made a difference and can be known as one. Malala was born on the 12th of July of
1997. She was born in the Swat District of Pakistan. Her family is a Sunni Muslim family of
Pashtun ethnicity. Malala means, " Grief–Stricken. She lived with two younger brothers, Khushal
and Atla. Her parents are Ziauddin and TorPekai, and two pet chickens. On Malala's 16th birthday
she spoke to the UN to call for a worldwide access to education. The UN called it "Malala Day".
Her first public speech since the bus gunshot lead the first Youth takeover of the UN. The students
included over 500 young education advocates from around the world. Three personality traits are
Brave, Passionate, and Selfless. In 2012 Malala was discovered as an activist because she is a brave
young woman standing up for Women's education. Brave can be someone who is willing to do
things that are dangerous and does not show fear in difficult or dangerous situations. Brave is a
personality trait to describe Malala because Malala was threatened for her life, not to revolt against
the Taliban. Which I can say is pretty brave thing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A passionate person has very strong feelings about something or a strong belief in something.

The Influence Of Teen Activists
Teen Activists Helping Our World There are people on this Earth who want to help. These people
are called Teen Activists. Three important teen activists are Malala Yousafzai, Alex Lin, and Iqbal
Masih. These are teens who are making a difference in the world. People don't just want these teens
in their life, but the future of Earth depends on them to help. Earth as some of us know is in danger
with erosion and pollution. With these teens, we might just stop a significant amount Earth's
problems with the help of teen activists. Malala Yousafzai is conscientious with the things she does

Iqbal had to work in a prison–like job he couldn't get away from. He was sold off from his parents at
age four to work off a debt that his parents owed the employer. The debt was twelve $US. It doesn't
seem like that much, but first Iqbal had to be an apprentice for an entire year without pay. After he
was an apprentice, he only got twenty cents a day and his parents kept on borrowing and using the
money he made until the debt grew to "260 US dollars." The stuff that was terrible about this is he
had to tie hundreds of knots daily and wasn't allowed to take breaks or move to a different position
for hours at a time. Children were forced to work "12–14" hours a day and spent "4–6" months just
to make one rug worth about "2000 US dollars." In the place where Iqbal worked it was too bad to
bear, probably anyone who hadn't worked there would think it was a prison because it was. There
was "poor light" so it was hard to see while working, and you weren't even allowed to talk to other
children. The room got extremely hot because the employer wouldn't open a window and there was
no ventilation. The air where Iqbal and the other children worked was full of bad particles that made
the children sick. The children had to work in one position for a long time and couldn't even move,
otherwise they would get fined by their employer. Iqbal stated and the PDF Iqbal Masih that, "Even
sick children were not allowed to rest." If

McDonald's Case Study Essay
McDonald's Case Study
As organizations seeks ways to increase profits by filtering into international markets, many turn to
the field of public relations as a way of reaching cross–cultural markets. Factors such as values,
cultural differences, language barriers, beliefs, etc…in order to successfully promote an
organization's products and services. Public relations practitioners have the responsibility to be the
mediator between the organizations and public(s). According to Murphy and Dee (1992), " Public
relations makes organizations more effective by building relationships with stakeholders in the
environment that have the potential to constrain or enhance the mission of the organization." This

The final stage is the active stage recognizes the problem and organizes something to do about it.
According to J.E. Grunig and Hunt (1984) the idea is to communicate with an aware public before it
actively opposes an organization, thus becoming an activist public.
London Greenpeace is an activist group with 3.3 million members in over 22 countries that use
highly visible actions to draw media attention to environmental problems. The London Greenpeace
group, a division of Greenpeace, is an independent group of activists that has no involvement in any
political party. This group meets weekly to "share concern for the oppression in our lives and the
destruction of our environment. Anderson (1992) cited that weaknesses in most case studies of
activism is that similar case studies should be conducted that examine activism from the perspective
of both the organizations and of the activists groups, which is applicable to this study of the McLibel
case. In my research, I came across must more literature and disseminated information from the
small activist group of London Greenpeace versus the large multi–national corporation of
McDonald's. This study also points to the need of more studies that examine the special problems of
international communication. The actions of a McDonald's triggered activist conflict not only in
London, but in other different countries as well.

Activist Reform Case
A good and successful activist reform would result in the long–term value creation for the target
company, which would benefit both the shareholders and the bondholders. The activist reform
would motivate management to achieve operating efficiencies, which would improve cash flows and
generate better returns for both the shareholders and bondholders. In conclusion, I find the
objections to the strategies of activists raised by the managers of Commonwealth REIT and other
companies in the article vague. However, the managers need to distinguish between the activists
looking for short–term profits and the activists looking for a long–term value creation. The former
might destroy some value in the process so the managers need to fend off those attacks.
It is management's fiduciary duty to maximize the stockholder value, and they should act
accordingly. If the company has extra cash they should return it to the shareholders in form of either
dividends or share repurchase. While it is wise to hold on to cash to fund future acquisitions, pay–
off the debt, and have some financial flexibility however managers like to accumulate as much as
financial slack as possible. The extra cash might also make the company a takeover target. ... Show

They want to use the extra cash for higher compensation, fund bad acquisitions, invest in negative
NPV projects, and acquire trophy assets, among others. The extra cash would give the managers a
cushion, as they won't have to operate firm profitably as they would be less dependent on the
external market for capital. Payouts to the shareholders would reduce manager's power and they
would incur the monitoring of the outsiders (capital markets, activists, etc.). This managerial
behavior would cause agency dilemma as shareholders and managers will have conflicts of interest

Activism Awareness Do you think celebrity activism is a positive or negative thing? That's the
question. To me, I think celebrity activism has a very positive effect on society and should become
more popular. More celebrities should become activists because activists have a long successful
history, celebrity activism helps draw attention to all different kinds of issues & activism gives
celebrities an opportunity to use their wealth for the good of something greater than themselves.
Celebrity activism really helps out the less fortunate and gives back to the community. Since a lot of
celebrities got their fame from the fans & paparazzi, they should be thanking them anyways. As you

activism gives celebrities a chance to use their fame for something else besides benefiting
themselves. Activism is "an opportunity for celebrities to use their wealth and notoriety for
something greater them themselves." (Chittom) This means that way too many celebrities care about

A For Activist: Betty White
Introduction Betty White was born January 17, 1922, in Oak Park, Illinois. When Betty was 2 years
old, she moved to Los Angeles, California when her dad, Horace Logan White, received a job offer
to build and sell radios. Betty grew up surrounded by tall buildings and movie studios which would
eventually lead her to a career in Hollywood. Aside from the fame, she also became known for her
work with animal cruelty, due to her parents always taking in animals throughout her childhood.

From reading the first couple topics in this essay, you can clearly see that Betty White is in love with
animals. Because of her feelings for animals, she decides to fight for them too. In the title of this
essay you read "A for Activist, Actress and America's Golden Girl" I haven't fully covered the
meaning so let me finish explaining. Activist; "An activist is a person who campaigns for some kind
of social change. When you participate in a march protesting the closing of a neighborhood library,
you're an activist. Someone who's actively involved in a protest or a political or social cause can be
called an activist." How is Betty White an activist? What did she do to become one? Well, Betty
White is an animal activist. She fought against animal cruelty by refusing a big role on the movie
"As Good As It Gets," because of an animal cruelty scene. She made a big speech about how you
should never do such a thing to an animal that doesn't deserve

Activist Judges Dbq
In this chapter, the question of if judicial independence is being undermined is asked. Attacks upon
activist judges is a recurring theme in the United States. Various judges are attacked across the state
for the decisions they make. In an adversary system, a judge's decision often fails to find favor with
the losing party. These losing parties normally label the judge as and "activist". This means that the
judge had made an unpopular opinion. There has been many examples of judges being subject to the
attacks such as when Justice Penny White was voted off the bench because she voted in a death
penalty case to grant the defendant more leeway. These attacks on judges can have a harsh impact
on the judicial independence. The American Judicature

Women's activist hypothesis is one of the real contemporary sociological speculations, which breaks

Sexual orientation Differences: The sex distinction point of view looks at how ladies' area in, and

Teen Activists
Teens become activists through different experiences Teen activists are many people's hero. An
activist is an individual who campaigns to bring about political or social change. Teen activists are
teenagers who decide to fight for what is right, and instead of waiting for someone to take action,
they do it themselves. Teen activists do work that takes a tremendous amount of courage, time, and
money. They do not always follow the same path, some succeed, but others fail. Teens become
activists through different experiences: they have a personal struggle, they are inspired by an
animal's struggle, or they read an article about another activist and takes initiative. To start, many
teens become activists from enduring a personal struggle. For example, one of the teens that became
an activist after having a personal struggle was Alex Libby. Alex Libby was constantly getting
bullied until he decided he had enough. Alex starred in the documentary, "Bully", by director Lee
Hirsch from Alex Libby's Fight. He and Alex decided to let a million other kids, and their parents
watch this heartbreaking clip about how Alex was bullied. Now Alex helps other kids who are
bullied, and lets them know that he is there for them. Another example of Alex `struggling is in the
later in the documentary, where Alex's mother asks, "Does it make you feel good to be punched? To
be shoved, stabbed, or mocked?" Alex replied wearily, "No. I don't know. I don't feel anything

While it is clear that Bertrand Russell wished for the continuation of the practice of philosophy, he
acknowledges most people have no idea what philosophy is, outside of the idea of a group of people
thinking about life. With this writing while giving some of the products that have come from
philosophy, he also warns that not all answers can be gained from the philosophy. While definite
answers can be gained through the sciences, philosophic study only raises more uncertainty.
Bertrand Russell supports his arguments with insight that comes from teaching, practicing, and
seeing the effects of philosophy both within himself and the people around him. While studying
philosophy Russell will only intensify the uncertainty about the world around us and the inner
workings of our mind. Likewise in support of Russell's argument, the study of sciences that is

philosophers has moved from philosophical theory to scientific study.
Likewise with the pursuit and study of philosophy, the likelihood of the student holding on to the

What I think about all teen activists is that they all fight for what they believe in. They go to
extensive lengths to help people to help us. They don't do this because they have to they do it
because they want to do it. They don't care that the odds were against them or they have very little
chance of succeeding. They do what they want and the do it right. They are like the voice of the
people fighting up against poverty and all the other struggles in the world. Most activists go through
a lot like Malala but I won't get to deep into that yet. They all have the courage to do what they do.

that is more than what some people make in 1 year. He helps out the community in so many ways.
He shortened the distance all around south Africa to get fresh water by at least 5km. That takes

Examples Of Teen Activism
We have all seen young people doing amazing things. They change the world and can inspire their
peers and even people twice their age. Have you ever wondered how they got started? Teen activism
is caused and is inspired through different means. Some teens were compelled to activism because
of inspiration from a parent. Others became active based on observation of an issue and its impact
on others and the world. Some teens became leaders because they were directly affected by an issue.
There are numerous examples of teen activists to illustrate how their activism originated.
The first reason that teen activism is initiated is when a parent is closely involved. This is
demonstrated by global education activist Malala Yousafzi and her father from Pakistan. Her father's
profession as a teacher clearly brought her to realize what a good education can do for any
individual. Moreover, Malala's father is quoted saying, "People ask me, what (is) special in my
mentorship which has made Malala so bold and so courageous and so vocal and poised? I tell them,
don't ask me what I did. Ask me what I did not do. I did not clip her wings, and that's all." Thus,
Malala demonstrates activism facilitated by a parent. Her father consistently motivated Malala ...

What Are Activist Investing?
What exactly is activist investing? Activist investing is the attempt of an individual or group to
purchase a large number of company shares with the goal of implementing change within that
company. Activist Investors can be anyone with enough capital to buy enough shares of a company
to become a major stakeholder, such as a wealthy individual or a private equity firm. A company can
become a target of activist investing for several reasons, such as: the company is being mismanaged,
has excessive cost, the activist believe they can make the company more valuable or even the
activist is just generally dissatisfied with the company. An indication that a company has become the
target of activist investing is the filing of SEC Form 13D, which ... Show more content on

By having Managements attention, the Activist Investors can pitch ideas to Management about the
use of the company's assets, how to improve shareholders wealth, etc. Management might not be
receptive to the ideas, but it could get them to starting thinking about their own to improve the
company as a whole.
3) By simple supply and demand, activist investing can also help to increase the target company's
stock price. By buying a large quantity of stock in a short amount of time, this could increase the
demand of the stock as the public could follow in the Activist Investors footsteps.
What negatives do activists bring to companies? While Activist Investing can have a positive impact
on a company, it also can a negative impact. Below are a few of the negative impacts activist
investing can have:
1) Just as activist investing can help increase the demand for the stock, it can also help flood the
market with excess of it. When the Activist Investor's decide to sell the large quantity of stock they
have bought, the market can become Saturday. The excess supply of the stock could than push the
price of the stock downward.
2) While activist investing can lead to the overall improvement of the company and its share price,
at the end of the day Activist Investors are inherently looking out for themselves. While
shareholders may be enthused with the Activist Investors agenda when it is helping them, it should
be in the back of the shareholders mind that the Activist Investors

What are teen activists fighting for?
Teen activists always have something that they are fighting for. Something that they believe in so
strongly. One example of a teen activist is Malala Yousafzai. A group of terrorists called the Taliban
came to Swat Valley, Pakistan where she lived. The Taliban believed that women should not be
educated. This is significant because, they would bomb schools who allowed girls, but, still Malala
continued speaking out about women's education. During an interview with Jon Stewart, Malala said
"why don't we stand up for our rights?" She really believed in something and she was willing to
fight for it. Another teen activist is Faye Carey. She is against animal abandonment. She has a
Facebook page where she advertises puppies that have ended up in the pound, on her page and tries
to give them a new home. Although, she has not done anything really big yet, she is inspiring others
around the world and still making a big difference. Alex Lin is also a teen activist. He wants to stop

How are they inspired you might ask? Ordinarily they went through something that made them

more they did it. For instance, Malala Yousafzai, she did something really small, just blogging about

Characteristics Of Teen Activist
What qualities create a teen activist? Is it their utter devotion to their cause? Their sacrifice of
personal time and possibly their safety? Or, is it the way that they will work long hours on weekends
while others are relaxing or watching Tv? The answer is all of them. A teen activist is a young
person who will fight for a cause for the better of the community/world. They often make many
sacrifices and endanger themselves to others who disagree with their cause, yet they keep fighting.
These teens are willing to do whatever it takes for the benefit of people in need, and that's what
makes them so admirable.
Often times, when something is wrong, an activist cannot help but to respond. This longing to make
a difference is one of the key qualities in an influential activist. For example, a completely ordinary
teen named Alex Lin came across an article about e–waste in the Wall Street journal. In a video
interview he says "Every long journey starts with a short step" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?
v=Weqt0N0vxH4). That is very true, because from then on, his interest and passion kept growing.
He spent hours collecting old electronics and managed to recycle 20,00 pound of e–waste that day.
He formed a team and devoted his time to get a law passed in his city banning e–waste dumping. He
still continues his journey and has built media centers in other parts of the world in his quest to
eliminate e–waste. But, just like many others, he won't stop there. He

Teen Activists Obstacles
Have you ever met someone who stands up for what they believe in? Even at a young age? This is a
teen activist. Teen activists fight against what they believe is wrong or for what they believe is right,
it takes determination, kindness and courage to be a teen activist. In this essay I claim that, teen
activists fight for something they believe in or against what they believe is wrong, teen activists
have obstacles they have to overcome and teen activists may start funds, movements or
organizations. Teen activists fight for something they believe is right or against something they
believe is wrong. For example, according to a website called freethechildren Craig Kielburger fights
against child labor. He was inspired by a newspaper article ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

I know this because, according to a website called freethechildren Craig Kielburger's first try at the
program ME to WE, didn't work out. He started by literally, kicking down doors and removing the
kids from the situation, but they found they were rescuing the same kids. Over, over and over again,
after being resold. To the family, the kids were just another mouth to feed. So Craig and Marc came
up with the model "Adopt–a–village" focusing on the five main pillars, education, clean water,
health, food security and alternate income. Next, Malala Yousafzai, according to "Malala The
Powerful" By: Kristin Lewis, at fifteen she was shot in the head, point blank, on her way home from
school by the Taliban. It is a miracle she survived, the bullet barley missed her brain, but she
overcame that, by continuing to speak out against the Taliban and for girls education. In a video clip
on SafeShare it shows Malala mere weeks after she was shot, speaking out once more against the
people that just tried to kill her. Lastly, Alex Libby was bullied. This was a big challenge for him,
but he overcame that. For example, PBS says that he was punched, strangled, even sat on, but after
switching schools twice he found happiness. Then, he realized he had to do something to help the
kids that were still being bullied, and he did. These examples show that teen activists have obstacles
they have to

  • 1. What Is Malala An Activist An activist is a person that identifies problems and publicly changes it so people know about it. Malala has made a difference and can be known as one. Malala was born on the 12th of July of 1997. She was born in the Swat District of Pakistan. Her family is a Sunni Muslim family of Pashtun ethnicity. Malala means, " Grief–Stricken. She lived with two younger brothers, Khushal and Atla. Her parents are Ziauddin and TorPekai, and two pet chickens. • 5. The Influence Of Teen Activists Teen Activists Helping Our World There are people on this Earth who want to help. These people are called Teen Activists. Three important teen activists are Malala Yousafzai, Alex Lin, and Iqbal Masih. These are teens who are making a difference in the world. People don't just want these teens in their life, but the future of Earth depends on them to help. Earth as some of us know is in danger with erosion and pollution. With these teens, we might just stop a significant amount Earth's problems with the help of teen activists. Malala Yousafzai is conscientious with the things she does like helping girl's education. Alex Lin is ambitious with the things he does because he never gave up. And Iqbal Masih was cooperative with the things ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Iqbal had to work in a prison–like job he couldn't get away from. He was sold off from his parents at age four to work off a debt that his parents owed the employer. The debt was twelve $US. It doesn't seem like that much, but first Iqbal had to be an apprentice for an entire year without pay. After he was an apprentice, he only got twenty cents a day and his parents kept on borrowing and using the money he made until the debt grew to "260 US dollars." The stuff that was terrible about this is he had to tie hundreds of knots daily and wasn't allowed to take breaks or move to a different position for hours at a time. Children were forced to work "12–14" hours a day and spent "4–6" months just to make one rug worth about "2000 US dollars." In the place where Iqbal worked it was too bad to bear, probably anyone who hadn't worked there would think it was a prison because it was. There was "poor light" so it was hard to see while working, and you weren't even allowed to talk to other children. The room got extremely hot because the employer wouldn't open a window and there was no ventilation. The air where Iqbal and the other children worked was full of bad particles that made the children sick. The children had to work in one position for a long time and couldn't even move, otherwise they would get fined by their employer. Iqbal stated and the PDF Iqbal Masih that, "Even sick children were not allowed to rest." If ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Factors such as values, cultural differences, language barriers, beliefs, etc…in order to successfully promote an organization's products and services. Public relations practitioners have the responsibility to be the mediator between the organizations and public(s). Grunig and Hunt (1984) the idea is to communicate with an aware public before it actively opposes an organization, thus becoming an activist public. London Greenpeace is an activist group with 3.3 million members in over 22 countries that use highly visible actions to draw media attention to environmental problems. The London Greenpeace group, a division of Greenpeace, is an independent group of activists that has no involvement in any political party. This group meets weekly to "share concern for the oppression in our lives and the destruction of our environment. Anderson (1992) cited that weaknesses in most case studies of activism is that similar case studies should be conducted that examine activism from the perspective of both the organizations and of the activists groups, which is applicable to this study of the McLibel case. In my research, I came across must more literature and disseminated information from the small activist group of London Greenpeace versus the large multi–national corporation of McDonald's. This study also points to the need of more studies that examine the special problems of international communication. The actions of a McDonald's triggered activist conflict not only in London, but in other different countries as well. "If public relations ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The activist reform would motivate management to achieve operating efficiencies, which would improve cash flows and generate better returns for both the shareholders and bondholders. In conclusion, I find the objections to the strategies of activists raised by the managers of Commonwealth REIT and other companies in the article vague. However, the managers need to distinguish between the activists looking for short–term profits and the activists looking for a long–term value creation. The former might destroy some value in the process so the managers need to fend off those attacks. It is management's fiduciary duty to maximize the stockholder value, and they should act accordingly. If the company has extra cash they should return it to the shareholders in form of either dividends or share repurchase. While it is wise to hold on to cash to fund future acquisitions, pay– off the debt, and have some financial flexibility however managers like to accumulate as much as financial slack as possible. Various judges are attacked across the state for the decisions they make. In an adversary system, a judge's decision often fails to find favor with the losing party. These losing parties normally label the judge as and "activist". This means that the judge had made an unpopular opinion. There has been many examples of judges being subject to the attacks such as when Justice Penny White was voted off the bench because she voted in a death penalty case to grant the defendant more leeway. An activist is an individual who campaigns to bring about political or social change. Teen activists are teenagers who decide to fight for what is right, and instead of waiting for someone to take action, they do it themselves. Teen activists do work that takes a tremendous amount of courage, time, and money. They do not always follow the same path, some succeed, but others fail. Teens become activists through different experiences: they have a personal struggle, they are inspired by an animal's struggle, or they read an article about another activist and takes initiative. To start, many teens become activists from enduring a personal struggle. For example, one of the teens that became an activist after having a personal struggle was Alex Libby. Alex Libby was constantly getting bullied until he decided he had enough. Alex starred in the documentary, "Bully", by director Lee Hirsch from Alex Libby's Fight. He and Alex decided to let a million other kids, and their parents watch this heartbreaking clip about how Alex was bullied. Now Alex helps other kids who are bullied, and lets them know that he is there for them. Another example of Alex `struggling is in the later in the documentary, where Alex's mother asks, "Does it make you feel good to be punched? To be shoved, stabbed, or mocked?" Alex replied wearily, "No. I don't know. I don't feel anything anymore." This clearly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

While definite answers can be gained through the sciences, philosophic study only raises more uncertainty. Bertrand Russell supports his arguments with insight that comes from teaching, practicing, and seeing the effects of philosophy both within himself and the people around him. While studying philosophy Russell will only intensify the uncertainty about the world around us and the inner workings of our mind. Likewise in support of Russell's argument, the study of sciences that is aforementioned such as; Phycology, Astronomy, and Physics which were originally pondered by philosophers has moved from philosophical theory to scientific study. There are numerous examples of teen activists to illustrate how their activism originated. The first reason that teen activism is initiated is when a parent is closely involved. This is demonstrated by global education activist Malala Yousafzi and her father from Pakistan. • 125. What Are Activist Investing? What exactly is activist investing? Activist investing is the attempt of an individual or group to purchase a large number of company shares with the goal of implementing change within that company. Activist Investors can be anyone with enough capital to buy enough shares of a company to become a major stakeholder, such as a wealthy individual or a private equity firm. A company can become a target of activist investing for several reasons, such as: the company is being mismanaged, has excessive cost, the activist believe they can make the company more valuable or even the activist is just generally dissatisfied with the company. An indication that a company has become the target of activist investing is the filing of SEC Form 13D, which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By having Managements attention, the Activist Investors can pitch ideas to Management about the use of the company's assets, how to improve shareholders wealth, etc. Management might not be receptive to the ideas, but it could get them to starting thinking about their own to improve the company as a whole. 3) By simple supply and demand, activist investing can also help to increase the target company's stock price. By buying a large quantity of stock in a short amount of time, this could increase the demand of the stock as the public could follow in the Activist Investors footsteps. What negatives do activists bring to companies? While Activist Investing can have a positive impact on a company, it also can a negative impact. Below are a few of the negative impacts activist investing can have: 1) Just as activist investing can help increase the demand for the stock, it can also help flood the market with excess of it. When the Activist Investor's decide to sell the large quantity of stock they have bought, the market can become Saturday. The excess supply of the stock could than push the price of the stock downward. 2) While activist investing can lead to the overall improvement of the company and its share price, at the end of the day Activist Investors are inherently looking out for themselves. While shareholders may be enthused with the Activist Investors agenda when it is helping them, it should be in the back of the shareholders mind that the Activist Investors ... During an interview with Jon Stewart, Malala said "why don't we stand up for our rights?" She really believed in something and she was willing to fight for it. Another teen activist is Faye Carey. She is against animal abandonment. She has a Facebook page where she advertises puppies that have ended up in the pound, on her page and tries to give them a new home. • 141. An Example Of Activists Activists have a lot in common. They all are inspired, make their voices heard, and accomplish something. How are they inspired you might ask? Ordinarily they went through something that made them take–off what they're doing or did. Or they could have done something small that grew and grew the more they did it. For instance, Malala Yousafzai, she did something really small, just blogging about her opinion and then the Taliban (A form of Islam) shot her. That shows that a little thing can end up big. Another example is Faye Carey. • 150. Characteristics Of Teen Activist What qualities create a teen activist? Is it their utter devotion to their cause? Their sacrifice of personal time and possibly their safety? Or, is it the way that they will work long hours on weekends while others are relaxing or watching Tv? The answer is all of them. A teen activist is a young person who will fight for a cause for the better of the community/world. They often make many sacrifices and endanger themselves to others who disagree with their cause, yet they keep fighting. These teens are willing to do whatever it takes for the benefit of people in need, and that's what makes them so admirable. Often times, when something is wrong, an activist cannot help but to respond. This longing to make a difference is one of the key qualities in an influential activist. For example, a completely ordinary teen named Alex Lin came across an article about e–waste in the Wall Street journal. In a video interview he says "Every long journey starts with a short step" (https://www.youtube.com/watch? v=Weqt0N0vxH4). That is very true, because from then on, his interest and passion kept growing. He spent hours collecting old electronics and managed to recycle 20,00 pound of e–waste that day. He formed a team and devoted his time to get a law passed in his city banning e–waste dumping. He still continues his journey and has built media centers in other parts of the world in his quest to eliminate e–waste. But, just like many others, he won't stop there. He ... • 154. Teen Activists Obstacles Have you ever met someone who stands up for what they believe in? Even at a young age? This is a teen activist. Teen activists fight against what they believe is wrong or for what they believe is right, it takes determination, kindness and courage to be a teen activist. In this essay I claim that, teen activists fight for something they believe in or against what they believe is wrong, teen activists have obstacles they have to overcome and teen activists may start funds, movements or organizations. Teen activists fight for something they believe is right or against something they believe is wrong. For example, according to a website called freethechildren Craig Kielburger fights against child labor. He was inspired by a newspaper article ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I know this because, according to a website called freethechildren Craig Kielburger's first try at the program ME to WE, didn't work out. He started by literally, kicking down doors and removing the kids from the situation, but they found they were rescuing the same kids. Over, over and over again, after being resold. To the family, the kids were just another mouth to feed. So Craig and Marc came up with the model "Adopt–a–village" focusing on the five main pillars, education, clean water, health, food security and alternate income. Next, Malala Yousafzai, according to "Malala The Powerful" By: Kristin Lewis, at fifteen she was shot in the head, point blank, on her way home from school by the Taliban. It is a miracle she survived, the bullet barley missed her brain, but she overcame that, by continuing to speak out against the Taliban and for girls education. In a video clip on SafeShare it shows Malala mere weeks after she was shot, speaking out once more against the people that just tried to kill her. Lastly, Alex Libby was bullied. This was a big challenge for him, but he overcame that. For example, PBS says that he was punched, strangled, even sat on, but after switching schools twice he found happiness. Then, he realized he had to do something to help the kids that were still being bullied, and he did. These examples show that teen activists have obstacles they have to ...
