On February 26, 2005 at 7:12 A.M. at Menorah Medical Center, in Overland Park, Kansas I was
born. I weighed 8 pounds 3 ounces and I was 20 ½ inches long. The first people who came to see me
when I was born was my Grandma and Grandpa Bentley and my uncle Ryan. Also my Grandpa
McNeely and Grandma Gigi came to visit me. But everyone that came to visit me said I was really
cute! I was baptized on May 22, 2005 at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church. My godparents are
my Aunt Sandra and Uncle Erik. The first word I ever said was eat! When I was 5 months old I

first steps on February 20, 2006 and I walked to my Grandpa.

Fun House, the autobiography written by author Alison Bechdel centers around her life growing up
and the death of her father. The autobiography is in a graphic novel format that artistically depicts
relevant events that occurred in Bechdel's life when she was growing up. The novel shows the
problems that dysfunctional families have in a realistic way without sugar coating anything. The plot
of Fun House centers around Bechdel's life and what it was like living in a household where the
parents did not pay that much attention to their children and focused on other things, where the

On page 16, Bechdel says that her father "[did] not make things, but [made] things appear the be
what they were not" which proves that her father wanted to keep up the appearances of a perfect
family with no problems. In my opinion, I think that it is really sad and awful that as a child, Alison
did not get the love and attention that she should have received from her father because he was too
obsessed with other things such as decorating their house and making sure that they seemed like the
perfect family even though realistically they were not.
In Chapter 2, Alison talks about her father's death. Her father got hit by a truck and died, and she
thinks it was a suicide but there was no evidence suggesting that and the only one who thinks that is
Alison. In addition to that in Chapter 4: In the Shadow of Young Girls in Flowers, Bechdel talks
more in–depth about her father's death and describes what occurred. She explains that her father had
been doing some gardening just before he died and that was the cause of his death. According to

that he was carrying, then suddenly he jumps backwards into the road right as a truck is coming and

I got off the plane, my uncle and 4 cousins picked me up from the Denver International Airport. I
stepped outside and remember how beautiful it was. We got into the car and they drove us to
Breckenridge, Colorado. When we rented a mansion for the vacation and when we got there we

The autobiographical graphic novel "Fun Home," by Alison Bechdel presents characters evolving to
the reader in an intimate way. She reveals within her novel the high cost of claiming to be gay or
lesbian within America. Instead of reading the author's recollection of her experiences, her graphic
novel connects the reader within the experience as the observer. This allows the reader to look at
both the personality of the novelist and the developmental impacts that have shaped her. "Fun
Home," is a distinctively persuasive novel that is entangled within the lives of Alison's family. While
presenting to the reader the explanations of Bruce's death, Alison endeavors to adjust to the reality
of her father's death by remembering family life at the "Fun House."
Alison introduces the mourning of her father to the readers as the central event of the story in the
first chapter. She proclaims her father's demise by saying; "His death was quite possibly his
consummate artifice, his masterstroke." In essence she is broadcasting Bruce Bechdel death as a
clever move, while trying to acclimate to the reality of her father's death. Her lack of emotions
shows she has not adapted to reality, the comic strip illustrates her dead stair looking away from her
father's coffin. At the same time, family and friends believe Bruce was run over by a truck and his
death is an accident, but Alison is convinced

I am still tired and I feel like it is too early for me to wake up so I go back to sleep. My parents come

About 1 year ago, my family and I went to a glorious place called Crystal Mountains. Crystal Mtn is
a ski resort in Thompsonville, MI. My family went because of our yearly Christmas gift exchange.
My cousins traveled to this location as well. We all stayed at the resort for a week or so on
Christmas. At Crystal Mountains, we did a lot of really fun things inside and outside of the cabin.

We weren't hermits. Since the resort was so big you had to call a bus. The bus was provided by the
ski lodge. Activities provided were very merrymaking. They had lazertag, a Brobdingnagian
scavenger hunt, and most prominent skiing. On Christmas Eve at about 6:00 p.m. halve our family
went to the lazertag the resort had. Is wasn't like the lazertag in Alpena. The arena was smaller, the
guns were lighter, and it was only 1 hour. Nevertheless, it was still fun. There were 2 teams: heroes
and villains. I was on the hero side. My team won in the end, but it was a tough fight. The largest
thing we did took all week. It was a scavenger hunt. We had to find a multitude of things. Since
there was no snow, we had to do the spring scavenger hunt. We walked around the town to find the
items. We found the items eventually, but not everything on the list was directly on the property. We
had to be creative. After we got the things, we got to get a free movie rental. We chose Mr. Popper's
Penguins. Although we did all that, the funnest thing by far was skiing. Not only was the slope right
behind the cabin, but we could do it all day. I'm not that skilled at skiing, so I stayed at the lower
