What have you learned from your audience
feedback?
EVALUATION: QUESTION 3
For us to be able to construct research from our audience the first thing we
did was create a questionnaire using a website called survey monkey which
allowed us to ask form the foundations of my music video. We did this so we
could understand what genre the people who answered the question liked,
what age category and gender they were so we could establish clearly what our
target audience is going to be. Also we were able to find out what they
expected to see from a music video, weather that be performance element or
narrative element or something else. I also needed to discover what platforms
they most watched their music videos allowing me to establish were I would
upload mine. So in conclusion I feel that this was good way of gathering
feedback from my audience because this allowed me to set the foundations of
my music video with the answers in which I have received. For example this
allowed me to know my target audience, what type of genre my song will be
and whether it should be a performance element or narrative element.
QUESTIONNAIRE
Another way in which I got feedback from my audience was that I pitched the
three original songs in which I had annotated and created storylines to and
pitched them to my fellow students. I did this so it would give me a good idea
of which song to go to. So I pitched all three of the songs and in the end I
had the same outcome of everybody that they felt that I should go with the
Oasis song Little by Little because they felt I would easily meet the
requirements of my target audience, which is fans of the band, fans of the
song and fans of the genre, and that this was the strongest storyline of the
three songs in which I had chosen. So this was a key part in my decision of
choosing this song because it was a unanimous vote by fellow students that
this was the strongest idea I had.
THE PITCHES
The fact that I used this software Blogger, not only because I had previous
knowledge of it from my AS, it was easy for me to update my work and keep
it all in order for my target audience and fellow students to go onto my blog
and see ,y recent updates and make feedback notes in which they would give
me the following day, so I felt that this was a good way of gathering crucial
information and feedback because I may have just put it in my documents and
never have gone back to it so I wouldn't’t then know what my target audience
felt about this. So I feel that using blogger allowed me to gather good
feedback from my target audience.
BLOGS
This was also a very useful tool in gathering my audience feedback, this is
because when I was able to upload my final product, there is a comments
section below the video where people who have viewed my blog they can post
there comments in this section where then it will come back to me as I have
an alert set on it so I will get a message saying somebody has commented on
your video meaning I am able to then take their feedback on board and make
any necessary changes to my video. Although I never received any comments
on my video I still felt that this was a good idea and a good technique of
gathering feedback from my audience.
YOUTUBE
When we had already drawn up and created our ancillary products we decided
to work as class/team to annotate and give each other detailed feedback on
their products. So we all left our products in the middle of the table and
individually all went round to annotate and give a good amount of useful
feedback for each other to use a discuss within their blogs. This was a good
technique because it was a simple task but it allowed me to get a good amount
of quality feedback in order to make their final ancillary products the best
they can be. I felt that this was a very good way of getting quality feedback for
our ancillary products and allowed us to make our ideas the best they could be
before we made the final one.
