WHAT IS STRESS ?
• Stress is the body's reaction to a change
that requires a physical, mental or
emotional adjustment or response.
• stress is a feeling experienced when a
person thinks that "the demands exceed
the personal and social resources the
individual is able to mobilize."
Types Of Stress
There are two types of stress:
• Eustress
• Distress
Types Of Stress
Eustress:
Stress that is healthy, or gives one a
feeling of fulfillment or other positive
feelings. Eustress is a process of exploring
potential gains.

Distress:
• Severe strain resulting from exhaustion or
an accident
Sources of stress

• Work overload
• Irregular work hours
• Loss of sleep
• Noise
• Improper lighting

• It offers potential gain
• For example, the superior performance
that an ophthalmologist give during a
complicated surgery.

of stress are;
• lack of span of control over the work
environment
• low acceptance for the work done
• rigid organizational structure,
• High unpredictability in job pattern in job
• departmental variation in administrator support,
• inadequate monetary reward, & personal issues

Results of survey show that major factors of
stress are;
• Workload

• repetitive work
It is concluded that there is moderate level
of stress with no significant difference in
different departments however no affect of
stress is found on job performance in the
selected organization.

• Knowing the daily cycle and handling the most
demanding parts of job during the high part
