1. Documentary 2
•The documentary starts with an interview introducing a young girl.
•The camera is hand held as she’s moving around her room, there’s no name to introduce her as the
voiceover does it.
•The positioning of the interviewee inst conventional because they tend to be moving about.
•They usually start centred in the middle of the frame and its shot with a close up.
•The voiceover is used to give the audience context on the documentary.
•There are shots of things relevant to what the voiceover is discussing.
•Close ups are used through out to convey emotion as the documentary topic is negative. Not much
music is used in the background but when it is it’s sad to correlate with what’s being spoke about.
•There’s a conventional interview with one of the children where she’s positioned correctly in the
frame.
•There are cutaways of children playing on council estate parks.
•The shot is blurred and there’s quotes from the voiceover in subtitles on the screen to make it
more dramatic as the audience read it and take it in more.
•Similar to the plus size model documentary there are indirect interviews of other people
talking/having meetings.
•The interviews are casual and usually have more than one person in the shot, the interviewees
aren’t paying much attention to the camera.
•They often look into the camera or above it which isn’t conventional.
•There’s a hashtag before and after the break so the audience are more involved, and the title is
shown after the break to re introduce the audience to the documentary.
•There are cutaways during interviews of relevant shots whilst the interview plays over.
