•   Firstly the costumes that we involved weren’t anything out of the ordinary nor
    where they too exciting, they reflect the age of the characters involved and are
    suitable to the type of documentary we are trying to portray.
•   The lighting used wasn’t anything over the top, it was natural lighting for the
    setting we chose and is appropriate to the scene.
•   The acting is very realistic, with no scripts used the audience can tell that is all very
    real and from the heart which we were trying to make clear when filming and
    editing.
•   When filming we didn’t include and props in particular because we didn’t want the
    audience to be distracted from our documentary and the stories being told.
•   Our documentary was set in a 6th form common room whereby it is a common
    surrounding for all of the people featured in the film therefore it seems very
    realistic.
• At the beginning when the title is coming on screen the song ‘better
  together’ by Jack Johnson is playing which is a very gentle and
  recognisable song to many people. We chose to play this throughout the
  documentary because it gives off a very gentle vibe which can be linked to
  love and therefore is what our documentary is essentially about.
• Other sounds that you can hear are the familiar noises to the
  surroundings of the setting which is a common room, therefore many
  young voices. This is very important as the age group within the
  documentary and watching it would be able to relate to the sounds and
  therefore would make them more comfortable viewing the documentary
  and also being in it.
• Throughout the documentary we have more or less
  kept the same camera angles to represent the equality
  of love whether you’re gay or straight to show that
  both subjects deserve the same respect therefore the
  same camera angles.
• We used close ups of the girl fiddling with her hands
  and bracelet to show that she might be nervous taking
  about her boyfriend or shy, and this could be
  interpreted as a sign of her being inlove.
• Although in saying this we did have to make the second
  shot with the two males a wider shot to be able to fit
  both of them in it.
• When making this documentary on ‘Love’ we
  aimed to create it in a friendly environment
  therefore setting it in a 6th form common room so
  the preferred target audience of 16’s and above
  could relate to the surroundings and perhaps the
  subjects talking as they are of a similar age.
• We wanted the audience to come away from
  watching our documentary with an ‘aww’ outlook
  on it therefore we asked our subject questions
  that we knew their response would provoke this.

Firstly the costumes that we involved weren’t anything out of the ordinary nor where they too exciting, they reflect the age of the characters involved and are suitable to the type of documentary we are trying to portray. • The lighting used wasn’t anything over the top, it was natural lighting for the setting we chose and is appropriate to the scene. • The acting is very realistic, with no scripts used the audience can tell that is all very real and from the heart which we were trying to make clear when filming and editing. • When filming we didn’t include and props in particular because we didn’t want the audience to be distracted from our documentary and the stories being told. • Our documentary was set in a 6th form common room whereby it is a common surrounding for all of the people featured in the film therefore it seems very realistic.
  • 3. • At the beginning when the title is coming on screen the song ‘better together’ by Jack Johnson is playing which is a very gentle and recognisable song to many people. We chose to play this throughout the documentary because it gives off a very gentle vibe which can be linked to love and therefore is what our documentary is essentially about. • Other sounds that you can hear are the familiar noises to the surroundings of the setting which is a common room, therefore many young voices. This is very important as the age group within the documentary and watching it would be able to relate to the sounds and therefore would make them more comfortable viewing the documentary and also being in it.
  • 4. • Throughout the documentary we have more or less kept the same camera angles to represent the equality of love whether you’re gay or straight to show that both subjects deserve the same respect therefore the same camera angles. • We used close ups of the girl fiddling with her hands and bracelet to show that she might be nervous taking about her boyfriend or shy, and this could be interpreted as a sign of her being inlove. • Although in saying this we did have to make the second shot with the two males a wider shot to be able to fit both of them in it.
  • 5. • When making this documentary on ‘Love’ we aimed to create it in a friendly environment therefore setting it in a 6th form common room so the preferred target audience of 16’s and above could relate to the surroundings and perhaps the subjects talking as they are of a similar age. • We wanted the audience to come away from watching our documentary with an ‘aww’ outlook on it therefore we asked our subject questions that we knew their response would provoke this.
