Assure method
1. Assure Method
Monday: We will go over what the assignment is. The assignment is on children
around the world. We will research and present the findings about children’s
childhood cultures from around the world. We will first watch a documentary on
children from all over the world and their daily life. This will give the students a
better idea of what culture they would like to pick. We will also read a book.
A: My class gets motivated easily when they get to watch something that has to do
with the assignment and not just listen to me talk about it. That is why I have picked
a documentary to watch the first day.
S: While showing my students the type of techniques to research, they show positive
learning outcomes and performance. The degree of acceptance is 90%.
S: I have made a movie that not only shows pictures of children around the world
but there is a song. I know my class will enjoy this and it will help them get
motivated for the assignment.
U: I have gone over the materials we will be using. I will help students with each
method if necessary.
R: I will make sure that each of my students will participate. First we will watch the
documentary and then we will start on the research.
E: I will ask questions and keep all of my students involved in these activities. We
will be going over this all week.
Tuesday: This day we will start on our research. We will go to the library. I have
told the class that they need to have at least one source that comes from a book.
A: My class learns well by fun activities and spending time researching which helps
them remember content better. It helps them enjoy learning.
S: My students do well when they are in the library. They like to be hands on while
doing their research.
S: We will use books, magazines, and maps this day so they can find as much
research as they can for their presentation.
U: My class has be utilizing the library and know how to look for books and certain
information in them. I know this technique to find these sources will not be hard to
them.
R: During their presentation the students and their groups need to have at least one
source that comes from a book. This is something that is required for the learner.
E: At the end of this day I will ask if my students need help or having any questions
about their presentations or the assignment.
Wednesday: On this day I will take the class to the computer lab. Here is where they
can use resources like the Internet and clipart. They will find information about
their culture and will print out pictures that they will use for their poster.
2. A: During the year my class has used computers and the Internet on a regular basis.
They are familiar with this technique and it will help them find the research they
couldn’t find in the library.
S: My students will show very good outcomes when looking for their research on the
Internet. I look for a 100% degree of accuracy.
S: We will be using the computer and Internet access for the media and materials.
U: I will provide this method of research by taking my class to the computer lab. I
will also let them use the few computers we have in the classroom if they do not
finish their research this day.
R: All students will participate on this day if they are present.
E: I will revise what we need to do for the rest of the week and tell them what we
will start on tomorrow.
Thursday: On this day I will have the class get into their groups. They will discuss
the information they have found and they will make their posters that they will use
in their presentation.
A: My class does very well when working together in groups. They also like to do
crafts so making the posters will be fun to them and will make learning fun.
S: While teaching my students in these types of techniques, they show positive
leaning outcomes and performance. The degree of acceptance is 95%.
S: We will use paper, poster board, pictures, and writing utensils for the materials.
U: I will provide the materials for the class and will go over the dos and don’ts for
the poster. Such as, do not write a whole paragraph on the poster. Center the
pictures and make bullet points and talk about what you write. Don’t just read off
the poster.
R: All of my students will participate in their groups with effort. Everyone will have
some kind of say about what the poster will look like for his or her group.
E: I will be going around and giving tips to each group on what they need to fix or do
on their poster. I will help as much as I can but I will let them do most of the work
for they are the ones researching and giving the presentations.
Friday: On the last day the students will be giving their presentations.
A: My class will do well when giving their presentations because they learn well by
listening and hearing from their peers.
S: By having my students do these presentations I expected them to gain knowledge
by working with others, researching, and making a poster. Not by only taking a quiz.
S: I have discovered that this method works very well.
U: We have gone over this assignment all week and I know my students are ready to
get up in front of the class and give their presentations.
R: I will make sure that each of my students will participate in these activities. First
we will see if there are any questions that need to be asked or if any last minute
touches to their posters need to be made. We will then start the presentation
process.
3. E: I will ask questions and pursue their peers to do the same. I will keep all of my
students involved in everyone’s presentations.
