Writing Skills Research Paper
As a college student it is important to take writing as a communication skill very serious it's best
that you consider English class as a gift or a tool in life. But writing can be hard in college when it
comes to essays, and class work but as you as you learn more in English the better you get at it.
Here is one example that I found in this article, your success with academic writing depends upon
on how well you understood what you are doing as you write and then how you approach the
writing task in the near future that right there is something that I would follow when it comes to
academic writing that is one example from Lennie Irvin that inspired me to keep writing in English
class. For writing everyone has an idea about something I mean most people have crazy ideas about
what they are doing when they write an essay about anything for example people would write about
US laws, governments, court systems, military, the media, or anything on a subject that would help
you on an essay for anything or on anyone. The myths about writing some writers will write ...

Quote4 "The Academic Writing Situation"
The biggest problem with college freshman writing is that they have a poor sense on how they can't
seen to adopted a writing skills that could help them.
It is hard sometimes when you are alone trying to get an assignment done for class but at the same
time you get it done on time before the due date but at times I need to go back and review my

I Want To Live In The United States-Personal Narrative
It all started in October 1998 in the city of Laredo, Texas, where I lived my first couple of months of
my life. When I turned 6 years old, I went to live in a city close to the border, Sabinas Hidalgo
Nuevo Leon, Mexico. When I started my first year of school, my childhood was totally fun. In
Mexico, I went up to sixth grade, everything was perfect until that day... The day my parents saw the
necessary to return to the United States to learn the English language, I couldn't believe that this was
happening, I really thought I was having a nightmare. I did not want to live in the United States. At
the end, I noticed that I didn't have a choice that I had to go. When I got to the United States, I
started cry because I was super scared, for me this was like starting a new life. It was summer, there
were only two weeks left for school to start. My mom went to the closest middle school to register
me. Unfortunately, my first day of school come it was Washington middle school. When I got to
school, I was very nervous, I didn't know where to go or what to do, and I remember my first class
was algebra with Mr. Magallanes. I had already 20 minutes trying to find my class, ... Show more

Literature : My Life As A Person 's Life
Literacy Memories
What do you think of when you hear the word literature? Most people think that literature is just
analyzing poems that have no real meaning behind them or writing a 10 page paper that your
English teacher assigns you to do in one night. But recently I have learned that literature plays one
of the biggest roles in a person 's life. You use reading and writing every single day. Reading texts,
reading signs, writing emails, and the music that you listen to are all examples of literature that we
use everyday. The good and the bad ways that I have learned literature have shaped my life and
made me the writer I am today.
Literature entered my life when I was only two years old and I first started to talk, even though the

The first chapter book I read was holes. This book was the start of my reading career. After I
finished this book I moved on to a new book. This time I read all seven books of the Harry Potter
series. I always felt cool in class when reading these books because as we all know they are very
thick books. At school we would go to the library once a week and the librarian would read parts of
a chapter book to us. This was my favorite part of the week. I would check out the book that she
would read to us and read it so that I would already know what was going to happen when she read
it to us. Every day in class the teachers would give us 20 minutes to read a book of our choosing.
Most kids would just stare off in space and think about what they are having for dinner, but not me. I
would spend the whole time reading and the time would go by so fast. Elementary school helped me
to become a better reader. After elementary school I was moving into the big middle school. The
first class of the day that I had was English with Mrs. Levon. In this class she did a lot of reading out
loud to the class. The first book we read was To Kill a Mockingbird. This was the first historical
book I had ever read. To Kill a Mockingbird was a very important book in my life that gave me a
view on how hard times were during segregation and times before the civil war. Also in this class we

Reflection About Reading And Writing
Due to this class, I have been interested in why reading and writing is important. Consequently, I
looked up interesting facts about reading and writing, which I would like to share. The literacy
company stats "According to research school spend two million dollars on student who cannot read
or write to help them to educate themselves" (The literacy company ). Pam Allyn said, "I believe
reading can be compared to breathing in and writing can be compared to breathing out".
Everyone had some sort of reading and writing experience in their life. I had one unpleasant
experience last semester at Hudson County Community College. It was my first semester after I
transferred from another community college. I took an English course in the summer session, but I
did not pass due to the score I needed to pass the course. I needed at least a seven to pass but I got a
six. However, I knew it was my mistake at that time and I really did not know how to organize the
essay structure. Before, I did not know how to take note of things that were helpful to me. Due to
this class, I realized in unit one where I was making mistakes in my essays.
By repeating the English class, the lecture helped me learn about reading and helped me throughout
my writing experience. The lecture was a helpful tool for me to learn and improve my skills because
even the smallest things count when you are writing. The most important part about writing is that
you always have to keep your audience in mind, make sure

My Experience Of Learning English
Since I came to the Unite State, English has became a most significant thing in my life. However,
before I was in China, English wasn't my good subject at school, it could be a worst subject for me.
Most of time, I gave up learning English. I thought it is hard and I will not use it in my life. Now
whenever I thinking back I feel ridiculous. Perhaps it is my fate, I have to learn English again for
living in America. My experience about learning English is knowledge needs to accumulate. If you
any knowledge point that you miss it, you will be difficult to fix it.
I had been touch with English when I was in kindergarten. In the earliest time I had learned about

It is a boarding school so my parents didn't know about my study well. The teacher couldn't care you
all the time because they taught almost hundred of student. You should know how to study by
yourself, however it is my weak point. In middle school, I had started learning grammar and writing
a paragraph but I didn't understand very well and my writing always followed by the template so
that sometimes I could past the test and sometimes I couldn't past, and my English score was enough
to let me go to the high school. In the high school, I would say I was not learn anything in English.
In class because of I wasn't studied hard in middle school, I couldn't follow my teacher that I didn't
interest in English. In the class, I slept or did something that is not about study. On the quiz, I felt
headache when I was reading the quiz paper because I just know a little vocabulary and my
grammar was terrible. In my three years high school life, I almost was the last in the rank. However,
I was believe it not a big deal. I may find a job which I don't need English. I brought this idea to my
college. I have study in college in China for one year before I came to America. The college English
is hardest. The reason is I did not study English well at high school , I could not follow my teacher
and I fail every class. Even though they have a makeup test , I thought no matter how many chance

Reflection: When I Want To Be A Better English Language
Course work requirement no 4. Reflection text.
When I applied for the English course, I did not really know what to expect. Sure, I knew it would
be a lot of work to do, a lot of thoughts to think, and many new things to learn. However, I find the
course interesting, and I have learned so much already. One of the main things that made me want to
participate in the course is that I want to be a better English teacher. During this course, I got
different kinds of inputs, and I find all of them interesting. Some of them made more impact on me,
and I want to mention a few.
My attention to pronunciation and intonation made me more aware of how I pronounce the words in
class. Earlier, I used to read children's books in class thinking my pronunciation was acceptable, but
after a lecture in school, I realize there was room for improvements. Intonation is the melody of the
language and English is different from Norwegian (Flognfelt &Lund (2016), and according to this, I
think I used to get the "Norwegian sound" with high–rise at the end of the sentence after a few
minutes reading. Not all the time, of course, but I noticed it during reading a book for my pupils.

Munden &Myhre (2015) wrote a list of twelve principles for language learning, and I found it
interesting. I have read the list before, but after I reflected about the learning spiral, how to "learn
English through English" and "learning combines repetition and progression over a period of time"
(p.38), it became more understandable for me. One of my main goal this year was that I should
teach English through English. To take over a class who learned English through Norwegian earlier
could be a struggle, but it was surprisingly easy. When they realized that I only spoke English, they

Difference Between National And International Primary...
Comparing between National and International Primary schools in their usage of motivation relation
with the second language acquisition Abstract Acquiring the second language is one of the most
important things now a day. The second language helps students to deal with their daily life. And
acquiring the second language will not come easily; it will need some help like motivation skills. So
motivation is the key for acquiring any new language. A letter will be given to students to write it
down and compare their writing in both schools the international and the national. And the research
aims to prove that by motivation students writing skills and acquiring the second language will be
much easier for students and this supported by evidence and application. Introduction I can and I
will. Motivation is an important factor in our life. It is the way that can push you always forward to
reach your goal. Motivation is one of the main factors in learning any other language especially
when this language is "English". Learning English nowadays is so important to communicate easily
and to work in any region. So to learn a second language it starts from a younger age to acquire
language easily. Second language learning is the process by which people learn a second language.
Student's motivations are an essential element, which is necessary for the quality of education. How
can we know when students are motivated? They pay more attention, they begin on working on

Importance Of Learning The English Language
What inspires a man to forge his linguistic capabilities of his primary language from sub–
rudimentary level, into an art form? Well, as I am only a singular individual, I cannot answer for the
entirety of society, but I can give you a record of a period of my life that motivated me to attempt to
excel at learning the English Language. So, what inspired me to learn the English Language better
than what I knew beforehand? The answer is not as straight forward. I had many things that
happened to me around the same time, the first event was my experiences in Speech and Debate.
The Second was what I learned in English Class and History Class. Finally, was me learning
military tactics, and philosophy. All of these events helped me to come to the conclusion that in
order to be an excellent leader and be a persuasive speaker or writer, one must know the language of
his subordinates, peers, and superiors, and be able to communicate effectively with them. When I
was fourteen, I started to attend a speech and debate club. It took a lot of hard work, in order to
prepare for the tournaments. I remember that there would be weeks leading up to the tournaments
that I would only get 18 hours of sleep a week, in order to have all of my research done. (Just a note
that I did not procrastinate on my work) Many people in my club noticed how well I prepared for
the tournaments; however they saw me perform horridly at the tournaments, mostly due to my lack
of understanding. After my first year

English Literature Review
The article, Relationship Between Language Skills and Acquisition Rate of Sight Words Among
English Language Learners, by Matthew K. Burns and Lori A. Helman, is about the study conducted
on English language learners (ELL). The study examined the sight word acquisition rate (AR) of 43
second–grade students who were English language learners (ELL) from three diverse, urban
schools. The acquisition rate (AR) is the amount of information a child can successfully rehearse
and later recall (CITATION). The 43 secondgraders that were used for the study speak the language
Hmong, which is a Chinese dialect, and it is also their first language. Children that are ELL are a
diverse group of students that have some unmet academic needs (CITATION). One solution to this
problem is to improve the individualized instruction for ELL. Teachers should recognize the
student's skill level and match their skill level with the appropriate task. Meaning that teachers
should not give the student material that is too hard for them to comprehend. When given the right
material, the students can effectively learn what is needed. So, for the study researchers examined
the effect of imagery level on word reading. The researchers would present the ELL with 40 words
at a time whether they knew them or not. The cards containing the words were presented one at a
time to each child in a clustered random order (CITATION). If the child could not correctly identify
at least eight of the words, then words taken from the first list of words. If the child correctly
identified all 40 words selected, then the words selected from the third list of words were used. The
presentation order of words taken from each of the three word lists was randomly determined.
Words were identified as "known" if the student orally read the word correctly within 2 seconds.
Any word not read correctly or requiring more than 2 seconds to read was considered "unknown".
After completing the research, the results show there is a significant relationship between the level
of English proficiency and the rate of acquisition of English sight–words (CITATION). Researchers
also found that the imagery level of the word did not affect how well the word was orally read,
which

My First Day Of English

has been of great experience to me, learning new skills that may help me in my future endeavors. I
first expected to only learn basic English writing such as, improving structure and grammar, but
from what I'm learning right now are much more. English 1B has taught me how to collaborate with
people easily, planning and researching a topic, making a statement on a topic, and the ability to
have fun during class. I walked in the first day of English 1B expecting the usual method of
teaching, sitting there and listening to the professor educating us with the lesson; but instead I went
inside only to find myself being placed in these so called "fun groups." These fun groups are groups
that you get to pick the people and collaborate with for the rest of semester. Helping each other on
subjects, such as researching the topic, getting sources, and finding the key points of the chapter
being discussed. This making the class easier to do since you get to choose who your group
members are, thus resulting more communication for the group. The fun group also undergoes
various activities such as making posters about the key concept or topics of a chapter and posting

Persuasive Essay On Middle School
Following elementary is middle school, the school before high school. Most middle schools are
grades 6th–8th and students are age 11–14. When entering middle school students are now expected
to act in a more mature way. In elementary school students stay in one classroom and have the same
teacher all year, while in middle school things become more advanced. You are expected to travel
class to class throughout the day, having a different teacher for each subject, as well as you are
introduced to new subjects that you have not had before. Curriculum in middle school will be done
at a faster pace, and organization of your class will be key. Along with changes in class schedules,
you are introduced to kids from another joining elementary school. Which will be a social change

Am I the only one mentally unprepared for English 088? After reading through the academic

My Reading And Writing Journey
My reading and writing journey I learned to become a writer and reader and shape me as a person
by changing my hometown to a foreign one–––The United States. Learning a second language is
one of the biggest challenges of my life. Coming from a foreign country at age eight, not
understanding what your surrounding are saying, was a daily frustration to me. I would look at the
people and see the differences we had. I didn't know that Asian also live in the United States, nor
that they spoke English perfectly. I had always thought that only white people living in the United
States and after seeing the different variety of races, it gave me a different perspective of the place I
had newly put a foot on. My family and I had come to the United States for the purpose to learn
English and to also pursue the American Dream.
My first day of school in the United States was a fear that I didn't want to confront. I remember I felt
like a stranger, an outsider who didn't belong to their world. My job was to learn English the faster I
could, so I could be at the same level as the others. However, it wasn't the easiest task of my life, I
had to put a lot on interest, passion, dedication and focus in order to achieve what I wanted. On the
other hand, there wasn't any impediment of not accomplishing my goal. I always had the positivity,
ability to achieve what I want. Fears, no matter how hard you fight them are going to be there as

Personal Narrative: Middle School English
English is one of the hardest subjects ever to me! Yes, I speak it, but there's actually a lot more to it.
I enjoy writing things that happen in my life that I relate to! I really don't like writing research
papers. Those papers are very boring and I get easily distracted. You have to worry about using
things such as: periods, commas, independent causes, dependent causes, verbs, nouns, etc. There's
has been many uprising events that can relate to how I write today.
While in elementary school English wasn't as hard of a subject as it is today. I had very good teacher
in elementary school! We use to write papers dealing on things that we had done when we were
some age. We had things that would help us learn all of these different words, how to use
punctuation, and all the basic information we need to make it through. Some things I wish I would
of paid more attention to more of the tips they were giving us to make our writing better. I most say
those year were the best years. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

but it could have been better. We mostly read books, had a discussion, look at PowerPoint, had a
daily reflection, and wrote reflections. This was mostly what every class consist of all three years. I

The Importance Of My Experience In English
Before I took my math class, I had heard that my professor is a Chinese who had an very heavy
accent. Most of my American friends try to switch to another session to avoid this professor. After
almost the whole semester study in his class I had figure out that he is an really good math professor
who is really good at teaching students and is an expert in the math area. However, his "limit
English skill" had became the largest barrier for students to understand his class. For me, an
international student whose first language is not English, I had some how the same feeling. I would
often feel frustrated when I figure out I actually know the point which professor had mentioned in
the class when I translated it in Chinese but not in English. I really feel like I would get a better
grade if I learn it in Chinese. I feel like my power had been limit by the language barrier. "I've heard
other terms used, "limit English", for example. But they seem just as bad, as if everything is limited,
including people's perceptions of the limited English speaker." (83 Tan) I can understand that it
would cost a lot of time to understand my spoken English which is full of accent and grammar
mistake. Most of the people I had met would behave to not lose interested to talk with me. So I often
keep my conversation with locals as short and perfect as possible as I can during the begging of my
life in the American. I sometime upset about myself. Not because I was afraid to talk with others,

English Essay: The Sound Of English
The Sound of English I was seven years old and it was my first day in an American school. My
mom and dad had decided that moving to the U.S would be the best option in order for us to have a
better life rather than the one we had in Mexico. I didn't know a single word in English so I was put
in the bilingual class. In the class the teacher spoke in both English and Spanish, it was in order to
help me slowly learn the language but also feel comfortable talking in both languages. Since I came
to this school in third grade I felt out of place and a bit uncomfortable since I didn't really know a lot
of people in this new school. In third grade my teacher was really good at helping me when it came
to learning to speak and write the language. To me that wasn't enough though I felt like I needed to
have more options other than school and homework, so what I did was to tutor myself along ...

When you use correct grammar while talking to people and writing an essay you can be seen as
smart and intelligent. Grammar can affect how other people see you in job interviews and or college
applications because they'll see you as an educated person. When you don't use correct grammar in
this language you will sound stupid because, you will change the the meaning of what you're trying
to say and people won't understand you. If you don't use correct grammar in a persuasive essay and
or in a job application you will take away the strength of that paper. Sentence structure is very
important when you're speaking and talking because if you don't use correct grammar you will say
something completely different rather than what you actually mean. In this country the use of
correct grammar isn't used to separate people but instead it's used to open doors for people. It can

Algebra 2 Class Analysis
When in the classroom learning is something that is like a seesaw. The ups and downs come with
some classes more than others. The classes that I have found my most ups and downs are English,
math, and science. When learning you can not just keep failing by not seeking help. These are the
most challenging classes stem from one of these subjects, but there is always a way to make it
through with these three steps; finding the situation, assessing it, and seeking help. The situation of
what is challenging because it is either too complex or just not easy for you to understand. Then

I have learned while in college that the best ways for me to learn are by being able to see or write
down something because it is something that I can review and still be able to grasp the concept
when it is needed for a test. This strategy was helpful when I was in my English and math class. The
second thing that also helps is viewing models because there is something that is tangible which
makes it so much easier for me to be able to learn this is the strategy that I used while in my biology.
The help of peers has also helped me with my learning process as well because there is not as much
pressure when going up and talking to the teacher about what is wrong. In Conclusion, learning is
something that you can grow from figuring out what strategies work for you whether is be from
writing it down to seeing in the form picture and model. Learning is something where you do what
is best for you and your difficulties and what can help you overcome your difficulties in any class
that you have and once you find what works for you, you will be able to do your best and achieve

My Reflection Of My Experience In The English Class
As a student that has been through the English W131 class, I feel entitled to share the tips and tricks,
as well as my experiences, with you. Tracy's class is un–like any other class you have ever taken or
ever will take. I say this because I went into this class expecting an English class that was taught
exactly like my high school classes, but I was quickly and pleasantly surprised on how this English
class was different.
Some of the work that you complete in the English W131 class will challenge you, but that's okay
because that is what Tracy is trying to do. She is trying to show you your strengths and weaknesses,
so in the future you can work on your weaknesses while embracing your strengths. One of the
assignments that really taught me my strengths and weaknesses was the project 2 draft. We were to
write a draft where we explained an issue in our community that we felt strongly about, but within
this paper we were not allowed to have stance on the topic. After reading some of the feedback from
this assignment I quickly saw that keeping stance out of my papers is extremely difficult for me, but
it showed me an area that I need to work on for the future. One of the assignments that I enjoyed
doing was writing a where I'm from poem. This was a poem that told a short story about where we
are from and where we are today. This assignment allowed me to reflect on my past and be thankful
for what I have, but also taught me how to write a well put together poem that could tell a story.
Another aspect of this course that was different to me, was the fact that we were given very specific
course goals that we must complete along our path in that class. You will also frequently visit these
goals and evaluate yourself on how well you believe you are achieving these goals. For example,
one of these goals was, develop meaningful questions to engage in inquiry. This is pretty much
saying that one of our goals is to think of well thought out questions that we can ask during class in
order to move your writing, as well as the class's writing forward. Now you might be thinking, well
course goals are just suggestions, but I am here to tell you that you need to take these goals
seriously. These goals are what will guide you

Analysis Of The Fool Doth Think He Is Wise
"The fool doth think he is wise, but the wise man knows himself to be a fool" (William Shakespeare,
As You Like It). This translates to "Only a fool thinks he's wise; the wise man knows that he is, in
fact, a fool". This quote resonates strongly with me. I really believe in this quote and find the
truthfulness in this. I myself believe that you can never truly stop learning. I know that I can be an
idiot at many times, and that makes me wise. I also see people who are so ignorant, that they believe
they know everything. They think that after high school, or college, they won't or don't need to learn
anything else. They likely also don't know what this quote means, or that so many fictional
characters are wiser than they are. A lot of people have no idea what this quote really means, and
likely, they are the fools. A person only by the username rosends, on English Language & Usage,
explains this quote using another wise quote.
"I believe it relates to this quote by Confucius "True wisdom is knowing what you don't know"
(Confucius, Sayings of Confucius). The realization that the self is lacking, that there is always more
to learn and that one doesn't know nearly everything, or even as much as what one thinks he knows
is the hallmark of the wise man. He knows that he still has much to learn (there are other cultural
idioms which express this)".
Confucius obviously lived before Shakespeare, but this quote is kind of a simpler version of the
Shakespeare quote and a little

America 's Grammar Problem Essay
America's Grammar Problem Growing up we're told repeatedly that, "grammar is important, and
you will need it in college." As I sit in these lectures, however, I see that claim hasn't fazed anybody.
I sit in an English class expecting to read these great, well put together papers, and I get the same
writing level I saw my senior year in high school. I should expect this, I mean, no kid is going to
magically learn the rules of writing over the summer. I didn't. It took nine grueling months of an
English class that, quite frankly, was hell on earth to learn most of them. The class was the toughest
class I have ever sat through, and yet, I'm blessed. I'm in my second semester as a college student,
and Sandra Stebbin's English class has saved me more times than I care to count. It's time for the
United States education system to start taking grammar seriously. This is a huge concern, because
our future leaders can't afford to have writing skills equivalent to a 7th grade middle school kid. I
will start with a journey through a hellacious class focused around grammar. Coming into the
WCSCC as a 12th grader, I was astonished at how little skill I had when it came to grammar. It still
boggles my mind that it took twelve years of school before I met a teacher who really, really cared
about how I composed my sentences. She wanted us to know what adjectives, prepositions, nouns,
pronouns, and run on sentences were. However, she knew we didn't. On the first day of class, she

I Want To Grow In English Class Essay
Their are many things I am expecting to learn and continue to grow in English Comp I. To learn and

to learn on how to research, how to think critically, and how to write better. I hope to grow with my
class to learn to become one. They say no I is in team, well you work together to strive to get what
you want, and I hope everyone in the class all wants the same things. With the help of my peers in
the class i hope we all reach our goals in life. With all these things I am expecting to grow in, I
strongly believe my professor Mrs. Bosarge can help me strive to meet these expectations. To meet
these expectations I will have to strive for what I want, the work is not going to come from Mrs.

Want I Expect to Learn in My English Class
When I was in high school, I had to take some type of comprehension test every year. I guess it was

read anything else. During my last year of high school my English class read some Shakespeare

Grade English As A Second Language Teacher
My goal is to be a Kindergarten through 6th grade English as a Second Language teacher. There are
a lot of children out there that are sent to school not knowing a single bit of english; I was one of
those kids. Going to school for the first time was already hard enough and being in a place where I
didn't understand much of what anyone was saying was harder. I remember relying heavily on my
ESL teacher. She played a very important role in my education and without her there wouldn't really
have been much of an education, honestly. I want to help children the way she helped me.
I believe that mastery of your content is a must. You have to know what you are going to teach
because kids are going to ask questions; pulling things straight out of a book will not be enough,
especially when you get students that can't learn well from lecture–only teaching. For example, if
you hand a Hispanic student a book on the English language that is written all in English (when they
haven't yet learned to read in that language), how are they supposed to learn? If you don't know
Spanish/English (or whatever it is you are trying to teach), how will you teach it? And if you don't
know how to teach it, how will they learn? Learning is also very important on the teacher's side. You
can't teach someone something you didn't learn first.
I think one of the most important things to remember is that one form of teaching or one set of
strategies will not work the same on every one of your students. I

I loved writing about my thoughts or feelings about things that happened to me. But I had a good
involvement various kinds of writing from this class: descriptive writing, visual analysis, problem–

of . Especially when I wrote the descriptive writing, it was good to make a 5 sences chart for the

And I have to say about the thesis . Thesis statement structure was not familiar to me. But I found

How To Write English 111 Essay
English 111 is a critical class to take during your freshman college experience. It is a class that helps
you prepare for the rest of your college career. It teaches you how to write papers, all sorts of papers.
A few examples include; Cause and Effect Essay, Process Essay and much more. English 111 helps
you learn how to format your paper in an MLA format. English is one of the most widely spoken
language, so it is key that you learn how to write and make sense when you write. In this class you
will learn how to be confident in yourself and your writing, always prewrite and peer review.
To succeed in English, you must learn to be confident with yourself and your writing. If you pick
topics that have no interest to you, how are you going to write a paper on them? You must pick
things that you enjoy and that you will have a fun time writing about. Don't take yourself so
seriously, be fun and open to things you enjoy. You must have a confident attitude when writing, if

Graduation Speech : School, Middle School And High School
Grammar school, middle school, and most high schools share one thing in common; they offer the
same basic history, math, English, science, and social science course. By the time high school comes
around students have already learned the same things again but only this time it is harder and more
in depth. College becomes a time that a student really begins to learn about what they want to do
with the rest of their lives. When applying to college, applicants don't apply to learn math, English,
history, and science. They apply to learn just math, English, Art, Business, Biology, Chemistry,
Criminal Justice and many others. By having a core curriculum, it takes away time that students
have to learn deeply about their program of interest. However, if colleges and universities focused
more on the curriculum of student's majors, and less on the core curriculum, these students may
have a better understanding of what they want and less chance of graduating late. As a criminal
justice major, I can understand that I do need to know some science and history, however I would
find it more beneficial to learn more about my major than about world history for the eightieth time.
My proposition is to have classes, like history more focused on someone's major. For example for a
history class for a criminal justice major, it could be the history of policing. Biology majors may
enjoy a history of evolutionary theories class, rather than a world history or American history class.

Literature As A Person 's Life Essay
What do you think of when you hear the word literature? Most people think that literature is just
analyzing poems that have no real meaning behind them or writing a 10 page essay that your
English teacher assigns you to do in one night. But recently I have learned that literature plays one
of the biggest roles in a person 's life. You use reading and writing every single day. Reading texts,
reading traffic signs, writing emails, and the music that you listen to are all examples of literature
that we use everyday. The superb and the inferior ways that I have learned literature have shaped my
life and made me the writer I am today.
Literature first entered my life when I was only two years old, and I first began to speak;, although,
nobody actually could understand the gibberish that was coming out of my mouth. I don't really
remember this period of my life, but my mom tells me that I was very quick at learning how to
speak. As I grew older, my vocabulary widened. Every night my mom would read me chapters from
some of my favorite books. She read to me for about an hour each night, which helped my
vocabulary advance and become even better. Then comes the first day of elementary school.
Kindergarden was much more than just nap time and snack time. This was the year in my life where
I really learned to put words into sentences. During this year of elementary school, I also learned
how to write some cursive letters. This is the most important year of my literary history because it

Essay about Teaching Philosophy Statement
Teaching Philosophy Statement Every teacher has their own philosophy and their style. They
believe their philosophy, themselves, and students' abilities. They must have been inspired by
brilliant teachers, in other words, they had favorite teachers when they were students. My favorite
teacher was an English teacher at my junior college in Japan. When I was a high school student, I
was looking for a junior college to enter after graduating high school. I took the teacher's trial class.
When I first took his class, I was moved by him. The class zipped along, and I really enjoyed it. I

Japanese conventional English classes are teacher–centered, and teachers ignore what students need
to know and interest. I also believe in Progressivism because Progressivism's education is based on
the needs and interests of students. Conventional classes teach grammar and high–level reading
books. English is an exam subject in Japan. Students do not learn English as a communication tool.
Therefore, they cannot speak English. My lesson plan is talking easy English at class. Japanese
English textbooks are far different from daily life. Students need to speak conversational English in
class. They need to express their feeling in English. I want them accustomed to thinking in English.
They do not think their thoughts in English; therefore, they cannot express their feeling in English
either. It is more important than reading an English book. Well, reading is important to improve
English, but a level is important. Japanese tend to read difficult reading such as high school level in
the United States. But what they need to is read books an easier level such as elementary books. I
have been to elementary school as a part of my Education class requirements, and I went to a fourth
grade class. My classes are reading and mathematics classes. I realized that my English is fourth
grade level or less, because new vocabularies that students study at reading class were exactly what

Education Needs To Focus More On Teaching Realistic Things
Education needs to focus more on teaching realistic things that we need going forward in life.
Education in high school should get students prepared for college and life after high school.
Students need to be learning things like, how to write a college paper the correct way, how to keep
track of your personal fiancés, do home improvement type jobs and how to communicate effectively
with others.
Students leaving high school and going to college need to know how to keep track of their personal
finances. Living on your own in the real world can be scary for a lot of people because it is the first
time they have keep up with their own money and take care of themselves. I think schools need

Being able to write college level English papers should be a main educational outcome for students
coming out of high school and going into college. From my personal experience and from other
students, English in high school is almost a joke compared to what is required in college. A lot of
students like myself never had to write more than a couple papers in high school. My senior high
school English class I had to write one paper the entire year and my teacher did not care about how
good it was just so you did it and tried. When classes are taught like this student do not receive any
input from the teachers about if they are writing the right for college. If students do not get the
information from the teachers, they will never be prepared to write in college. College English is so
much different than in high school. In college, the professors expect you to write the papers in a
proper way and if you do not then it is wrong. The proper way in college is to have a correct format
of your paper, making your paper unified and precise and basically just making your paper look
more professional. In high school, from mine and others experiences,

College Writing Skills Research Paper

  • 1. Writing Skills Research Paper As a college student it is important to take writing as a communication skill very serious it's best that you consider English class as a gift or a tool in life. But writing can be hard in college when it comes to essays, and class work but as you as you learn more in English the better you get at it. Here is one example that I found in this article, your success with academic writing depends upon on how well you understood what you are doing as you write and then how you approach the writing task in the near future that right there is something that I would follow when it comes to academic writing that is one example from Lennie Irvin that inspired me to keep writing in English class. For writing everyone has an idea about something I mean most people have crazy ideas about what they are doing when they write an essay about anything for example people would write about US laws, governments, court systems, military, the media, or anything on a subject that would help you on an essay for anything or on anyone. The myths about writing some writers will write ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Quote3 "Never use I" For adopting a new writing skills can be helpful at times but it can be hard to learn a new writing skill that can help you in the long run of essays and English homework assignments. Quote4 "The Academic Writing Situation" The biggest problem with college freshman writing is that they have a poor sense on how they can't seen to adopted a writing skills that could help them. It is hard sometimes when you are alone trying to get an assignment done for class but at the same time you get it done on time before the due date but at times I need to go back and review my homework so I can fix the mistakes that I made on it so that way I fail my class and I can learn from my mistakes on ... • 3. I Want To Live In The United States-Personal Narrative It all started in October 1998 in the city of Laredo, Texas, where I lived my first couple of months of my life. When I turned 6 years old, I went to live in a city close to the border, Sabinas Hidalgo Nuevo Leon, Mexico. When I started my first year of school, my childhood was totally fun. In Mexico, I went up to sixth grade, everything was perfect until that day... The day my parents saw the necessary to return to the United States to learn the English language, I couldn't believe that this was happening, I really thought I was having a nightmare. I did not want to live in the United States. At the end, I noticed that I didn't have a choice that I had to go. When I got to the United States, I started cry because I was super scared, for me this was like starting a new life. It was summer, there were only two weeks left for school to start. My mom went to the closest middle school to register me. Unfortunately, my first day of school come it was Washington middle school. When I got to school, I was very nervous, I didn't know where to go or what to do, and I remember my first class was algebra with Mr. Magallanes. I had already 20 minutes trying to find my class, ... Unfortunately, I had bad luck and he asked me to read I started swearing I was super nervous, I didn't know what to do, I right away felt that they all were looking at me, I did not know why I decided to read, I hadn't read one sentence and the whole class started ... • 5. Literature : My Life As A Person 's Life Literacy Memories What do you think of when you hear the word literature? Most people think that literature is just analyzing poems that have no real meaning behind them or writing a 10 page paper that your English teacher assigns you to do in one night. But recently I have learned that literature plays one of the biggest roles in a person 's life. You use reading and writing every single day. Reading texts, reading signs, writing emails, and the music that you listen to are all examples of literature that we use everyday. The good and the bad ways that I have learned literature have shaped my life and made me the writer I am today. Literature entered my life when I was only two years old and I first started to talk, even though the only ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first chapter book I read was holes. This book was the start of my reading career. After I finished this book I moved on to a new book. This time I read all seven books of the Harry Potter series. I always felt cool in class when reading these books because as we all know they are very thick books. At school we would go to the library once a week and the librarian would read parts of a chapter book to us. This was my favorite part of the week. I would check out the book that she would read to us and read it so that I would already know what was going to happen when she read it to us. Every day in class the teachers would give us 20 minutes to read a book of our choosing. Most kids would just stare off in space and think about what they are having for dinner, but not me. I would spend the whole time reading and the time would go by so fast. Elementary school helped me to become a better reader. After elementary school I was moving into the big middle school. The first class of the day that I had was English with Mrs. Levon. In this class she did a lot of reading out loud to the class. The first book we read was To Kill a Mockingbird. This was the first historical book I had ever read. To Kill a Mockingbird was a very important book in my life that gave me a view on how hard times were during segregation and times before the civil war. Also in this class we ... • 7. Reflection About Reading And Writing Due to this class, I have been interested in why reading and writing is important. Consequently, I looked up interesting facts about reading and writing, which I would like to share. The literacy company stats "According to research school spend two million dollars on student who cannot read or write to help them to educate themselves" (The literacy company ). Pam Allyn said, "I believe reading can be compared to breathing in and writing can be compared to breathing out". Everyone had some sort of reading and writing experience in their life. I had one unpleasant experience last semester at Hudson County Community College. It was my first semester after I transferred from another community college. I took an English course in the summer session, but I did not pass due to the score I needed to pass the course. I needed at least a seven to pass but I got a six. However, I knew it was my mistake at that time and I really did not know how to organize the essay structure. Before, I did not know how to take note of things that were helpful to me. Due to this class, I realized in unit one where I was making mistakes in my essays. By repeating the English class, the lecture helped me learn about reading and helped me throughout my writing experience. The lecture was a helpful tool for me to learn and improve my skills because even the smallest things count when you are writing. My Experience Of Learning English Since I came to the Unite State, English has became a most significant thing in my life. However, before I was in China, English wasn't my good subject at school, it could be a worst subject for me. Most of time, I gave up learning English. I thought it is hard and I will not use it in my life. Now whenever I thinking back I feel ridiculous. Perhaps it is my fate, I have to learn English again for living in America. My experience about learning English is knowledge needs to accumulate. Sure, I knew it would be a lot of work to do, a lot of thoughts to think, and many new things to learn. However, I find the course interesting, and I have learned so much already. One of the main things that made me want to participate in the course is that I want to be a better English teacher. During this course, I got different kinds of inputs, and I find all of them interesting. Some of them made more impact on me, and I want to mention a few. My attention to pronunciation and intonation made me more aware of how I pronounce the words in class. Earlier, I used to read children's books in class thinking my pronunciation was acceptable, but after a lecture in school, I realize there was room for improvements. Intonation is the melody of the language and English is different from Norwegian (Flognfelt &Lund (2016), and according to this, I think I used to get the "Norwegian sound" with high–rise at the end of the sentence after a few minutes reading. • 15. Importance Of Learning The English Language What inspires a man to forge his linguistic capabilities of his primary language from sub– rudimentary level, into an art form? Well, as I am only a singular individual, I cannot answer for the entirety of society, but I can give you a record of a period of my life that motivated me to attempt to excel at learning the English Language. So, what inspired me to learn the English Language better than what I knew beforehand? The answer is not as straight forward. I had many things that happened to me around the same time, the first event was my experiences in Speech and Debate. The Second was what I learned in English Class and History Class. Finally, was me learning military tactics, and philosophy. All of these events helped me to come to the conclusion that in order to be an excellent leader and be a persuasive speaker or writer, one must know the language of his subordinates, peers, and superiors, and be able to communicate effectively with them. When I was fourteen, I started to attend a speech and debate club. It took a lot of hard work, in order to prepare for the tournaments. I remember that there would be weeks leading up to the tournaments that I would only get 18 hours of sleep a week, in order to have all of my research done. (Just a note that I did not procrastinate on my work) Many people in my club noticed how well I prepared for the tournaments; however they saw me perform horridly at the tournaments, mostly due to my lack of understanding. The acquisition rate (AR) is the amount of information a child can successfully rehearse and later recall (CITATION). The 43 secondgraders that were used for the study speak the language Hmong, which is a Chinese dialect, and it is also their first language. Children that are ELL are a diverse group of students that have some unmet academic needs (CITATION). One solution to this problem is to improve the individualized instruction for ELL. Teachers should recognize the student's skill level and match their skill level with the appropriate task. Meaning that teachers should not give the student material that is too hard for them to comprehend. When given the right material, the students can effectively learn what is needed. So, for the study researchers examined the effect of imagery level on word reading. The researchers would present the ELL with 40 words at a time whether they knew them or not. The cards containing the words were presented one at a time to each child in a clustered random order (CITATION). If the child could not correctly identify at least eight of the words, then words taken from the first list of words. If the child correctly identified all 40 words selected, then the words selected from the third list of words were used. The presentation order of words taken from each of the three word lists was randomly determined. Words were identified as "known" if the student orally read the word correctly within 2 seconds. Any word not read correctly or requiring more than 2 seconds to read was considered "unknown". After completing the research, the results show there is a significant relationship between the level of English proficiency and the rate of acquisition of English sight–words (CITATION). Researchers also found that the imagery level of the word did not affect how well the word was orally read, which ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My First Day Of English Fall semester has been an excruciating experience for me, having tests practically every week and a continuous frantic drama that just started at the beginning of the semester. However, the hard work had been paying off, only half–way through the semester and I felt rewarded already. English class has been of great experience to me, learning new skills that may help me in my future endeavors. I first expected to only learn basic English writing such as, improving structure and grammar, but from what I'm learning right now are much more. English 1B has taught me how to collaborate with people easily, planning and researching a topic, making a statement on a topic, and the ability to have fun during class. I walked in the first day of English 1B expecting the usual method of teaching, sitting there and listening to the professor educating us with the lesson; but instead I went inside only to find myself being placed in these so called "fun groups." These fun groups are groups that you get to pick the people and collaborate with for the rest of semester. Helping each other on subjects, such as researching the topic, getting sources, and finding the key points of the chapter being discussed. This making the class easier to do since you get to choose who your group members are, thus resulting more communication for the group. The fun group also undergoes various activities such as making posters about the key concept or topics of a chapter and posting them on the wall. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In elementary school students stay in one classroom and have the same teacher all year, while in middle school things become more advanced. You are expected to travel class to class throughout the day, having a different teacher for each subject, as well as you are introduced to new subjects that you have not had before. Curriculum in middle school will be done at a faster pace, and organization of your class will be key. • 49. My Reflection Of My Experience In The English Class As a student that has been through the English W131 class, I feel entitled to share the tips and tricks, as well as my experiences, with you. Tracy's class is un–like any other class you have ever taken or ever will take. I say this because I went into this class expecting an English class that was taught exactly like my high school classes, but I was quickly and pleasantly surprised on how this English class was different. Some of the work that you complete in the English W131 class will challenge you, but that's okay because that is what Tracy is trying to do. She is trying to show you your strengths and weaknesses, so in the future you can work on your weaknesses while embracing your strengths. One of the assignments that really taught me my strengths and weaknesses was the project 2 draft. We were to write a draft where we explained an issue in our community that we felt strongly about, but within this paper we were not allowed to have stance on the topic. After reading some of the feedback from this assignment I quickly saw that keeping stance out of my papers is extremely difficult for me, but it showed me an area that I need to work on for the future. One of the assignments that I enjoyed doing was writing a where I'm from poem. This was a poem that told a short story about where we are from and where we are today. This assignment allowed me to reflect on my past and be thankful for what I have, but also taught me how to write a well put together poem that could tell a story. Another aspect of this course that was different to me, was the fact that we were given very specific course goals that we must complete along our path in that class. You will also frequently visit these goals and evaluate yourself on how well you believe you are achieving these goals. For example, one of these goals was, develop meaningful questions to engage in inquiry. This is pretty much saying that one of our goals is to think of well thought out questions that we can ask during class in order to move your writing, as well as the class's writing forward. Now you might be thinking, well course goals are just suggestions, but I am here to tell you that you need to take these goals seriously. These goals are what will guide you ... This translates to "Only a fool thinks he's wise; the wise man knows that he is, in fact, a fool". This quote resonates strongly with me. I really believe in this quote and find the truthfulness in this. I myself believe that you can never truly stop learning. I know that I can be an idiot at many times, and that makes me wise. I also see people who are so ignorant, that they believe they know everything. They think that after high school, or college, they won't or don't need to learn anything else. They likely also don't know what this quote means, or that so many fictional characters are wiser than they are. A lot of people have no idea what this quote really means, and likely, they are the fools. A person only by the username rosends, on English Language & Usage, explains this quote using another wise quote. "I believe it relates to this quote by Confucius "True wisdom is knowing what you don't know" (Confucius, Sayings of Confucius). The realization that the self is lacking, that there is always more to learn and that one doesn't know nearly everything, or even as much as what one thinks he knows is the hallmark of the wise man. He knows that he still has much to learn (there are other cultural idioms which express this)". As I sit in these lectures, however, I see that claim hasn't fazed anybody. I should expect this, I mean, no kid is going to magically learn the rules of writing over the summer. I didn't. I'm in my second semester as a college student, and Sandra Stebbin's English class has saved me more times than I care to count. It's time for the United States education system to start taking grammar seriously. I will start with a journey through a hellacious class focused around grammar. Coming into the WCSCC as a 12th grader, I was astonished at how little skill I had when it came to grammar. • 57. Want I Expect to Learn in My English Class When I was in high school, I had to take some type of comprehension test every year. I guess it was for students who were registered as English being there second language. I never really understood the concept of understanding what I am reading or writing. When I was in high school the only books I had read were the "Hungry Games" and "A Child Called It". Other than that I never really read anything else. During my last year of high school my English class read some Shakespeare book. Shakespeare was probably the most difficult reading I have ever done. I hardly understood what I was reading. Reading Shakespeare probably did not have much of a great impact in my reading since I did not understand anything. Before I registered for any ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 59. Grade English As A Second Language Teacher My goal is to be a Kindergarten through 6th grade English as a Second Language teacher. There are a lot of children out there that are sent to school not knowing a single bit of english; I was one of those kids. Going to school for the first time was already hard enough and being in a place where I didn't understand much of what anyone was saying was harder. I remember relying heavily on my ESL teacher. She played a very important role in my education and without her there wouldn't really have been much of an education, honestly. I want to help children the way she helped me. I believe that mastery of your content is a must. You have to know what you are going to teach because kids are going to ask questions; pulling things straight out of a book will not be enough, especially when you get students that can't learn well from lecture–only teaching. For example, if you hand a Hispanic student a book on the English language that is written all in English (when they haven't yet learned to read in that language), how are they supposed to learn? If you don't know Spanish/English (or whatever it is you are trying to teach), how will you teach it? And if you don't know how to teach it, how will they learn? Learning is also very important on the teacher's side. You can't teach someone something you didn't learn first. I think one of the most important things to remember is that one form of teaching or one set of strategies will not work the same on every one of your students. I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 61. Literacy Narrative In ESL Literacy Narrative When I first took a look at my first assignment for English Composition I – Write a Literacy Narrative. The first thought it came to mind was "ESL" (English as of Second Language). I started to reminisce about my first year as a freshman in High School. It was the fall of 1985; I just had arrived from Colombia as an exchange student. On the first day of School, I reported to the front office, still not knowing what to say or what to do. I was completely lost and scared; the nice lady at the desk looked at me with a smile and started to talk. I did not understand a single word of what she was saying at that time, except "Hello". After a few minutes of silence and staring at each other, I gave her a piece of paper that my ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Lavenders' ESL class, she decided that it was time for me to attend regular classes. I was so afraid, not because I would not be competent in the classes, but because I did not think I was ready for a full emergent in the language. I was competent and knowledgeable on the subjects assigned, Geography, Math, Science, but English? I was just completely in a mortified stage. Would I understand the teacher, classmates? Would I be able to speak clearly enough, so they would understand me? That weekend, before I was to report to my first all–English class on Monday, I did not sleep nor could I eat anything thinking about that moment. Monday morning I walked into Mr. Garfield English classroom. Mr. Garret was aware of me been assigned to his class; he was standing right at the door. When I came in, the first thing Mr. Garret did, was to ask the class to be quiet for a minute. He then proceeded to introduce me to them. I had never felt such a panic as I did at that moment. I was sweating, quivering; I felt a thousand eyes just staring at me. Mr. Garret quickly noticed my somber demeanor and immediately asked me to have a seat. • 63. Pursuing A Career In Bilingual Education My interest in teaching started when I would go to work with my mother. I would sit on a chair and color, while she would teach . She would have so much love and patience for those kids. She loved going to work everyday; she enjoyed it so much. It was one of her passions besides singing for God. That is when I realized I wanted to become a teacher. When seeking a teaching career as a teacher, a person should look at aspects, but even as one's responsibilities, necessary skills, work conditions, salary, and its prospects , but even more importantly is to prepare oneself properly by attending an institution of higher learning that will offer the best training possible, and this is why I would like to attend Texas A&M University Kingsville. By taking this class, I discovered the advantages of using a computer, and now I am use it more. I loved writing about my thoughts or feelings about things that happened to me. But I had a good involvement various kinds of writing from this class: descriptive writing, visual analysis, problem– solution essay, wide repertoire of read and respond etc. I enjoyed the writing assignments the most of . Especially when I wrote the descriptive writing, it was good to make a 5 sences chart for the place. I felt as if I was a novelist. In my Korean version, I wrote more stories and details, but I had to cut these because of difficulty to translate. (I'm sorry, I couldn't approve it for you. You should learn Korean.) Also, visual analysis work was meaningful to me. I have envied Sister Wendy 's knowledge of art and her extraordinary ability to explain a work of art. This assignment gave me an experience to learn about visual art analysis like her a little. And I have to say about the thesis . Thesis statement structure was not familiar to me. But I found that thesis mastatement made a convenient structure of the paper to understand for the readers, also not to wander out of the topic for the writers. In spite of, I felt that It seemed me to tie in the structure mechanically. So I was very struggled to follow instruction to write the thesis ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 69. Graduation Speech : School, Middle School And High School Grammar school, middle school, and most high schools share one thing in common; they offer the same basic history, math, English, science, and social science course. By the time high school comes around students have already learned the same things again but only this time it is harder and more in depth. College becomes a time that a student really begins to learn about what they want to do with the rest of their lives. When applying to college, applicants don't apply to learn math, English, history, and science. They apply to learn just math, English, Art, Business, Biology, Chemistry, Criminal Justice and many others. By having a core curriculum, it takes away time that students have to learn deeply about their program of interest. However, if colleges and universities focused more on the curriculum of student's majors, and less on the core curriculum, these students may have a better understanding of what they want and less chance of graduating late. As a criminal justice major, I can understand that I do need to know some science and history, however I would find it more beneficial to learn more about my major than about world history for the eightieth time. My proposition is to have classes, like history more focused on someone's major. For example for a history class for a criminal justice major, it could be the history of policing. Biology majors may enjoy a history of evolutionary theories class, rather than a world history or American history class. As for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 71. Literature As A Person 's Life Essay What do you think of when you hear the word literature? Most people think that literature is just analyzing poems that have no real meaning behind them or writing a 10 page essay that your English teacher assigns you to do in one night. But recently I have learned that literature plays one of the biggest roles in a person 's life. You use reading and writing every single day. Reading texts, reading traffic signs, writing emails, and the music that you listen to are all examples of literature that we use everyday. The superb and the inferior ways that I have learned literature have shaped my life and made me the writer I am today. Literature first entered my life when I was only two years old, and I first began to speak;, although, nobody actually could understand the gibberish that was coming out of my mouth. I don't really remember this period of my life, but my mom tells me that I was very quick at learning how to speak. As I grew older, my vocabulary widened. Every night my mom would read me chapters from some of my favorite books. She read to me for about an hour each night, which helped my vocabulary advance and become even better. Then comes the first day of elementary school. Kindergarden was much more than just nap time and snack time. This was the year in my life where I really learned to put words into sentences. During this year of elementary school, I also learned how to write some cursive letters. This is the most important year of my literary history because it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 76. Essay about Teaching Philosophy Statement Teaching Philosophy Statement Every teacher has their own philosophy and their style. They believe their philosophy, themselves, and students' abilities. They must have been inspired by brilliant teachers, in other words, they had favorite teachers when they were students. My favorite teacher was an English teacher at my junior college in Japan. When I was a high school student, I was looking for a junior college to enter after graduating high school. I took the teacher's trial class. When I first took his class, I was moved by him. The class zipped along, and I really enjoyed it. I thought that I wanted to be a teacher like him. Japanese conventional English classes are teacher–centered, and teachers ignore what students need to know and interest. I also believe in Progressivism because Progressivism's education is based on the needs and interests of students. Conventional classes teach grammar and high–level reading books. English is an exam subject in Japan. Students do not learn English as a communication tool. Therefore, they cannot speak English. My lesson plan is talking easy English at class. Japanese English textbooks are far different from daily life. Students need to speak conversational English in class. They need to express their feeling in English. I want them accustomed to thinking in English. They do not think their thoughts in English; therefore, they cannot express their feeling in English either. It is more important than reading an English book. Well, reading is important to improve English, but a level is important. Japanese tend to read difficult reading such as high school level in the United States. But what they need to is read books an easier level such as elementary books. I have been to elementary school as a part of my Education class requirements, and I went to a fourth grade class. My classes are reading and mathematics classes. I realized that my English is fourth grade level or less, because new vocabularies that students study at reading class were exactly what I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Education in high school should get students prepared for college and life after high school. Students need to be learning things like, how to write a college paper the correct way, how to keep track of your personal fiancés, do home improvement type jobs and how to communicate effectively with others. Students leaving high school and going to college need to know how to keep track of their personal finances. Going into college they do know what they are going to have to pay for and how much things cost so they do not make plan for their money, they just spend it. Making plans for your money usage and explaining what to expect for your future finances, that is what these classes would be about. Being able to write college level English papers should be a main educational outcome for students coming out of high school and going into college. From my personal experience and from other students, English in high school is almost a joke compared to what is required in college. A lot of students like myself never had to write more than a couple papers in high school. My senior high school English class I had to write one paper the entire year and my teacher did not care about how good it was just so you did it and tried. When classes are taught like this student do not receive any input from the teachers about if they are writing the right for college. If students do not get the information from the teachers, they will never be prepared to write in college. College English is so much different than in high school. In college, the professors expect you to write the papers in a proper way and if you do not then it is wrong. The proper way in college is to have a correct format of your paper, making your paper unified and precise and basically just making your paper look more professional.
