Vivint Case Study
If you live in Utah, you know Vivint. The company has a strong history in the state, and has built a well–known empire within Utah. Yet, why do
people always consider working for Vivint? Is it because their employees are compensated well, have a good balance of work life, or do they truly
enjoy what they are doing? Throughout this proposal we will talk about what Vivint is doing, and how it is harming the success. A huge part of the
Utah culture is summer sales, and when you hear about that, you think Vivint. The company prides itself with the amount of people who go and help

Strategic Planning Essay
Strategic Planning
1. Appraise the formal planning efforts at the Copley Company for the period 1981 to 1984.
INTRODUCTION
Copley Manufacturing Company was primarily a manufacturer of a wide line of cutting tools and related parts and supplies. Late in 1980, Mr. Sagan,
director of corporate development and Mr. Albert, executive vice president agreed that regular formal planning should become part of management's
way of life at Copley.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
In 1981, Copley Manufacturing Company had begun formal corporatewide planning. The formalized planning was ingrained into life at Copley
through a series of visits by corporate groups, planning review meetings, as well as planning response meetings.
However in 1982, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Typical of these meetings was that of the Cutting Tool Division, which was headed by Mr. Tyler, the general manager. COMMENTS AND
PROBABLE REASONS IN 1981
Generally, it was felt that the planning effort at Copley in 1981 had made a good beginning because most agreed that the plans had provided useful
information to aid the top management to obtain better understanding on Copley's business activities.
DISCUSSION OF SITUATION IN 1982
In 1982, formal planning had been significantly affected by certain organizational changes, such as the elevation of Mr. Albert to president, the creation
of two corporate staff functions, the further delegation of operating responsibility and the segregation of the Cutting Tool Division.
In the same year, the planning committee decided to divide the formal planning cycle into three phases, which were the Strategy Development phase,
the Quantitative phase and the Action phase.
The division's strategic plans were presented to corporate management by each division in a planning review meeting and subsequently evaluated in a
planning response meeting (Lee & Ke 2004). Unlike 1981, these meetings followed each other on the same day in 1982.
In 1982, the progress of the planning efforts was disrupted by certain developments; chief among them was the change in the top management. Besides
that, considerable management effort was also required to assimilate the recently

The Road To Glory Analysis
On the Blue Planet, the Committee of Twelve preformed an ancient tradition, in which they compete against each other for the privilege of selecting a
writer, to update, 'The Road to Glory: the History of the Gotitright Family.' The Selection Day occurs every twenty years, on the first day of January
and has since 1908. Now, to minimize stress, on this day, the twelve members of the Committee partake in numerous rounds of– rock, paper, and
scissors, and the victor, of course, selects the writer from the Committee's Approved List. Accordingly, the competition commenced in 2328 at noon and
Cort West, a member of the Committee for thirty–two years, prevailed in the final round with rock over scissors. Thus, he delivered a gracious... Show

Recalling the conversation as he had, led straight to the last conversation he had with his dying father, thirty–two years ago. With a feeble voice he had
told Cort someone had poisoned his tea, so beware of those who lead and with his last breath whisper something about a book – family tradition –
tucked away in the safe in the family vault...however, he died before he could finish. Three days after the funeral, he opened the safe and all he
found was the family's copy of the 1908 edition of 'The Road to Glory: the History of the Gotitright Family.' As he recalled, he guffaws, because
reading one edition meant you had read them all, so, without even touching the book he shut the safe and hadn't opened it since then. Following that
experience, he believed his father suffered from a touch of paranoia and wiped it from his mind. Until now, that's what he had always believed and of
course this bothers him. All of a sudden a thought raced across his brow. Quickly, he rose from his chair, went straight to the Beveled glass bookcase
and pushed a button hidden behind the seventh book on the fifth shelf and the wall to his left slide apart, revealing the family vault. Immediately upon
entering the vault, he opened the safe and this time removed the book. With book in hand, he went back to this study, sat in his favorite overstuffed
chair, and read the book from cover to cover, including the inscription written on the last

Essay on Amazon Continues to Grow Through Mergers and...
Amazon continues to grow, expand, and improve the goods and services the company provides through strategic mergers and acquisitions. In recent
years Amazon has focused on acquiring a variety of companies that bring with them technologies from fields such as: robotics, education, voice
recognition, and e–reader displays. One of Amazon's most significant recent acquisitions came in March 2012 when Amazon purchased Kiva Systems,
a Massachusetts based robotics company. The deal worth $775 million dollars was made in hopes that Amazon will be able to improve profit margins

An additional area where Amazon has been making strategic acquisition maneuvers is in the educational field. The first educational company Amazon
would acquire is the Seattle based company of TeachStreet. Amazon did not disclose the price it paid for the company. TeachStreet's interface allows
users to find local tutors and variety of online classes that include subjects from music to culinary arts to academia. TeachStreet's websites provide a
valuable link between students seeking actives and teachers providing lessons for the sought after activities. At the time of the purchase TeachStreet
had over 15,000 classes in cities on both the west and East Coast. (Lamm) The next educational acquisition would come in October of 2013 when
Amazon would acquire TenMarks for an undisclosed amount. TenMarks produces education math programs which follow the Common Core teaching
method. The two companies will work together to build the technology into the Kindle Fire. Amazon believes that as the Kindle is able to deliver more
education value the cheaper cost of the Kindle will allow more schools to being using advanced technology to teach students. These moves were
carefully planned to take a piece of the educational market that Apple has dominated. (Parkhust)

Use of Symbols in Paul's Case Essay
Symbols are one of those most important things to a story. They share the meaning of themselves, as well as the meaning for something else.
Symbols usually make the important ideas stick out as well as make the reader have different ideas of what is actually being said. One of the many
symbols in "Paul's Case" is flower's. From violets to carnations, the flowers Paul talks about are ones of many meanings. The flowers represent a
continual motif, expressing Paul's character.
The narrator expresses the teacher's views towards Paul's flowers, "...his whole attitude was symbolized by his shrug and his flippantly red
carnation..." (Cather). Paul wears the flowers to symbolize his beauty for things. Living in a grey world, Paul needs something to ... Show more content

Whether it is to his teacher's or his music instructor, Paul always has that quirky smile. This offset smile symbolizes all the feelings Paul has inside.
It symbolizes the rude ways that Paul does not even know he is doing. It symbolizes that something is wrong. The narrator states, "Older boys than
Paul had broken down and shed tears under that ordeal, but his set smile did not once desert him..." (Cather). Paul does not seem to know that he
makes people feel uncomfortable under his smile. He makes people feel insecure about themselves, but maybe that is what Paul wants them to feel.
Critics say, "Paul is smiling, and his accusers find his appearance–especially the red carnation in his lapel– 'not properly significant of the contrite spirit
befitting a boy under the ban of suspension'" (Wilson). For Paul being so out of place and unnoticeable in society, he sure gets a lot of attention from
teachers. Paul's smile shows the teacher that he thinks everything they are saying is a complete waste of time because he honestly does not care. Paul's
drawing master added, "I don't really believe that smile of his comes altogether from insolence; there's something sort of haunted about it" (Cather).
Paul's drawing teacher see's through Paul's know–it–all smile and thinks that there is more to it. That maybe his smile is not out of rudeness, but of
something like a disability.

Background
Renaissance Corporation Limited
Renaissance has been a publicly listed company in New
Zealand since 1968. Though the company has existed in many forms, its current name was adopted in 1997, at which time key business concentrations
were also developed. It functions along three key business streams:
(1) distribution, (2) education, and (3) e–business. The company has built a successful information technology distribution business with a number of
leading international brands.
Renaissance has, in the past, had exclusive distribution rights for Apple computer products in New Zealand. However, the global policy of the
computer manufacturer now prohibits exclusive deals.
Though exclusivity is no longer possible, Renaissance is still the sole wholesale distributor for Apple locally.
The manufacturer has not moved to cultivate relationships with other New Zealand distributors and has expressed no intention to do so in the future,
in spite of the fact that it has done so elsewhere in the world. Sole distributorship of
Apple products provides Renaissance with a degree of credibility in the market.
Renaissance achieves economies of scale through the distribution of multiple brands. The company

Over-dependence on Technology Essay
Regina Fleck has an iPhone 7 and she admits, "I no longer feel frustrated or impatient. That emotion now manifests in me as a desire to check my
e–mail." (Tran). All around the world, technology has taken over the lives of many, especially children. Each year younger children are being
introduced to new technology to help them learn and grow, but the effects of this may be different from what is expected. Rather than seeing growth,
the overuse of technology is leading to many issues, including a decline in creativity, less active lifestyles, and difficulty falling asleep. The growing
overdependence on and overuse of technology is affecting young children both mentally and physically.

Also, the parents are the ones who are buying the games and the food that the children eat, so it can't be blamed on the children. Others believe that the
ads and commercials are nearly irresistible to children, and parents are just trying to keep their children happy. Whatever the case, the major cause of it
is the technology (Browning).
Another source of the overdependence of technology in children is school. At school, they are introduced to technology at a very young age,
sometimes even in preschool. Children are introduced to calculators at a very young age, helping them with math problems they should be able to do
in their heads. The teachers are encouraging it so the students don't take the time to learn how to do it out and then struggle when they have no
calculator. Also, children today are proven to have much worse handwriting than in the past. They are now expected to type English essays and in
elementary school; many aren't taught cursive but rather how to use computers. For example, in 2009, 97 percent of teachers had at least one computer
in their room, and out of that, 93 percent of the computers were connected to the Internet (Gray, Thomas, Lewis). Intelligence is continuously
decreasing due to all of the shortcuts children now are able to take advantage of. In some aspects, the advancements are really aiding students. They
have almost any information they can imagine wherever they go, just by going to Google. Typing is neat and

Wisdom Teeth Research Paper
At about the age of 17, wisdom teeth begin to come in. Most often they don't come in straight, and there usually isn't enough room in your mouth for
another molar. Wisdom teeth can cause discomfort and the need for you to visit your dentist. Wisdom teeth are the last teeth to erupt. There are usually
four wisdom teeth – two on top and two on the bottom. They rarely come in normally, and most often need to be removed. Wisdom tooth pain is a
common symptom of these teeth trying to erupt. Since wisdom teeth come into the very back of your mouth, they don't always have space to come in
as straight as your other molars. They oftentimes come in sideways and misaligned. They push on other teeth as they try to erupt and cause crowding.
As your wisdom teeth come in they can cause mild to severe discomfort. Wisdom tooth pain isn't always localized to the actual wisdom tooth. You may
have pain in and around the new tooth, pain around your other teeth – and even pain in and around your ear. Oddly enough, sometimes there is no pain,

Focusing on their identity, culture, and lives growing up, they made stories and poems out of it in a fun and creative way. Alexie and Barry's lives
were very different apart from each other, but the same effect can be made. They both went through tough and difficult times no matter what it
was, and ended up making the most out of it. The Vertical Hour does not have this in common. Instead of focusing on her life growing up, it is
about her life now and how she is handling it. This can really compare and contrast the way children handle their lives versus adult's handling their
lives. Of course adults make the tougher and harder decisions in life, and everything they do can hugely impact them. But children start the base of
their own lives before they become adults, and this ultimately shapes them. No one can be an adult without first being a child. This is very obvious,
but not in a certain way. Before growing up and being responsible, children have to make dumb and stupid decisions. Alexie barely wrote about this
and Barry definitely did not. But this is a fact, in order to learn from mistakes, we have to make these mistakes. Otherwise we would eventually just
keep repeating the same mistake. Learning from them is what moves us past them and truly grow up. Nadia, in The Vertical Hour, learned from her

school." (Koenig 1) But the problem with that is later after she had written the affidavit for the trial, Asia invalidated her original statement. "Asia had
called one of the prosecutors in Adnan's case, a guy named Kevin Urick, and undermined her own statement." (Koenig 1) According to Kevin Urick,
"She was concerned, because she was being asked questions about an affidavit she'd ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She told me that she'd only written it because she was getting pressure from the family, and she basically wrote it to please them and get them off her
back." (Koenig 1) While discussing the alibi in the podcast Sarah Koenig came to the conclusion of, "Because if he was, library equals innocent. It's so
maddeningly simple." She's right, it is so maddeningly simple because from the invalidated alibi, we can significantly prove that Adnan was not at the
library but instead committing the murder of Hae Min Lee.
Although you can claim the possible invalidation of Adnan's alibi, there is substantial and undeniable evidence from other people supplying alibi's
that proves that Adnan's alibi is not invalidated. In contrast to the possible invalidation of Adnan's alibi, Adnan could have been at the library all
afternoon as well as Hae at the school since the state's timeline has some errors. So if we assume that Adnan was at the public library from 2:15–3:30
and at track practice from 3:30– to about 4:30 or 5:30 like he claims in his timeline, then we know that it is impossible for him to have killed Hae in the

January, 1795, By Mary Robinson
In the poem "January, 1795" by Mary Robinson, she writes about people living in luxury while others are in poverty. She shows this throughout, such
as, "Lords in ermine, beggars freezing". The world around her seemed to be expanding while the rich try to keep up with the new advances while
going bankrupt from their lifestyle in the process. While the poor remain in poverty and seek opportunity as they beg on the streets or seek shelter,
they are overlooked by the wealthy. Robinson describes this as a very cold and dark time for everyone but she seems to still find the beauty out of the
worst situations.
Robinson describes some social and moral issues throughout this dark time as people struggle to keep their image and class in society. In line 11
Robinson demonstrates the distinction between the social classes, while the wealthy people seem to be enjoying themselves and unbothered by the rest
of less fortunate suffering through hard times, "Balls, where simp'ring misses languish; Hospitals, and groans of anguish." (11) During this time
everything was changing along with the absence of morals from individuals. It seemed they no longer cared about refinery or remaining polished but
had turned corrupt in a sense that they preferred deviance and honesty shown in line 21 , "Taste and talents quite deserted; all the laws of ... Show more

Republican President Ronald Reagan served as...
Republican President Ronald Reagan served as Commander–in–chief from January 1981 to January of 1989, holding his position in office for two
terms. When Reagan took his oath into office, he inherited prior damage from predecessor Jimmy Carter, including the issue of the Iranian Hostage
Crisis as well as damage inflicted by the Vietnam War from years prior. Reagan's start in politics was not the normal approach. Coming from a
successful career as a popular Hollywood actor, Reagan acquired his interest in politics in a more unconventional way. As president of the Screen
Actors Guild, Reagan became involved in disputes over the issue of Communism in the film industry. His political views quickly shifted from liberal to

Reagan inherited a misery index (the sum of the inflation and unemployment rates) of "19.99%, and when he left office it had dropped to 9.72%".
Under Reaganomics, 16 million new jobs were created. Not only did he cut tax rates, but the Tax Reform Act of 1986 simplified the income–tax code
by eliminating many tax shelters, reducing the number of deductions and tax brackets. Reagan's dream of tax returns fitting on a postcard has been
nullified as Congress has regressed and continued to make the tax code more complex, necessitating a new push for reform. Reagan played a large part
in restrengthening the weak, ineffectual, and vulnerable military which left behind after President Carters time in office. The Reagan administration
funded research and development of weapons systems, including stealth technology and precision weaponry, later used in Persian Gulf wars. Reagan's
buildup was the largest peacetime defense enlargement in history, which included larger training ranges and military pay increases, helped invigorate
the American military from its Vietnam War

country as a whole, and even years later still had an impact on our military efforts. Reagans contributions began rebuilding it up, and eventually

Strategic Planning
1.Appraise the formal planning efforts at the Copley Company for the period 1981 to 1984.
INTRODUCTION
Copley Manufacturing Company was primarily a manufacturer of a wide line of cutting tools and related parts and supplies. Late in 1980, Mr. Sagan,
director of corporate development and Mr. Albert, executive vice president agreed that regular formal planning should become part ofmanagement 's
way of life at Copley. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
In 1981, Copley Manufacturing Company had begun formal corporatewide planning. The formalized planning was ingrained into life at Copley
through a series of visits by corporate groups, planning review meetings, as well as planning response meetings.
However in 1982, the planning system was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the staff departments were recommended to commence the planning process by analyzing past results and identifying resources, strengths,
weaknesses, major threats, and major opportunities of their divisions.
In 24th October 1982, Mr. Albert reaffirmed his intention to emphasize planning at Copley by setting specific goals, allocating resources, measuring
progress, and emphasizing more on the delegation of responsibility and also in the measurement of performance against determined goals (Hicks 1999).
COMMENTS AND PROBABLE REASONS IN 1982
Generally, the progress of the planning effort in 1982 was temporarily obstructed by several organizational changes and developments in Copley. It was
disruptive to the planning effort because considerable management effort had been placed on managing the acquisition of new company and on
working out the segregation of divisions.
DISCUSSION OF SITUATION IN 1983
In 1983, the planning process was largely influenced and administered by Mr. Tyler, executive vice president. The division managers were required to
reduce the number of pages for each product group strategy and the related financial five–year plan in order to allow the divisional management to
have more time for strategic considerations (Tucker 1999).
Besides that, the management review process was also altered.

Judging People Research Paper
We live in a society that is solely focused on appearance and how we look to others. Look at the people around you and what is the first thing you
notice? You might see their hair color, skin tone, and their clothing. Though while you are doing that you could be making silent observations. Why
do we do that? People say away from the people who "look dangerous" and people will like the people who are attractive. Though when it comes to
judging appearance it's something that is a part of our lives. Is it good? Is it bad? When humans judge one another it comes from an evolutionary
adaptation, however in modern times with a structured society it is not acceptable to do so.
In Pam Belluck's New York Times article, Yes, looks do matter, address... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
"Our mind should avoid the impulse of determining the causes of events until a wide range of evidence is gathered and assessed from many different
sources and traditions." (Torres, Raymond. "Why Judging by Appearance Can Be Harmful."The Huffington Post. TheHuffingtonPost.com, n.d. Web.
14 Jan. 2017.) We are quick to make judgements on people's lives completely based on how we see them at that particular moment. One can make
the assumption that you are lazy if you come into work late or not properly dressed. Though they don't know the true story, you could be having an
off day or something is currently happening in your life. Humans are so focused on being right on our observations that when we told something
other than what we think we refuse to believe it. Raymond Torrs states that, "It's hard to understand the nature of other people or the natural world, if
all we really care to know is any and everything that comes out of our own mind. This attitude constrains our ability to find out more about any issue.
We assume that just because we call something for what it is or what we think it is, that there isn't a composite of underlying and interactive factors
responsible for our observations." (Torres, Raymond. "Why Judging by Appearance Can Be Harmful." The Huffington Post. TheHuffingtonPost.com,
n.d. Web. 14 Jan. 2017.) We shouldn't make simple judgements on people by external appearance because it is superficial and often unfair. After all,
you don't know what circumstances the person might be facing or who the person really is. Perhaps the person comes from a less fortunate family
than you and cannot afford the kind of stylish clothes your friends wear. However, that does not mean the person is less intelligent or interesting than
you are. People have the lack of discernment which leads to large

1. Define American Call/Put option10 pts
Answer
Options allow investors to hedge against risk. If one expects stock prices to rise, then he/she may like to invest in stocks. However, buying stocks also
entails risk because of price fluctuation. The risk will be potentially large in case price falls to zero. In order to avoid risk one may like to buy a call
option.
An American call option gives one the right, but not an obligation, to buy a specified number of shares of a stock for a specified price called exercise

strategy of tactical asset allocation based on the old saying * 'sell in May and go away' generated abnormal returns in comparison with stock market

indices (roughly 200 to 500 per cent in comparison to weekend effect), and researchers argue that the effect could be because of changes in sleep
patterns.

Murder is defined as an unlawful killing of a reasonable creature in being under the King's peace with malice aforethought, express or implied.
For Helen to satisfy the AR of murder (the unlawful killing) she must be the factual and legal cause of the death. We use the but for test, which
shows if the consequence would or wouldn't of happened 'but for' the Ds actions. As in the case of R v White, 'but for' him poisoning his mothers
drink, she would of died anyway as she died of a heart attack, so he was not guilty of murder. 'But for' Helen throwing the firework in the room, Ian
would not have died so she was the factual cause of death. Also, the legal causation is necessary, which is where the D must be the 'operating and ...

The LOC subjective test is defined in R v Richens and can be looked at subjectively taking into account the D's personal characteristics. Helen suffers
from a personality disorder with the symptoms being 'short temper and aggression when under stress', and also suffered months of violence from her
partner, so to conclude Helen did lose LOC and attempted to seriously harm Ian.
The fear trigger can be used if the D feared violence from the V. Due to the past of violence Helen experienced, and the threat Ian made about
'beating' her the next morning, she had a fear of violence. However, the act makes it clear the D cannot use the fear trigger if there was a
'considered desire for revenge'. As in the case of R v Baillie, if there is evidence which shows the provocation (the threat) was enough to make a
reasonable man lose self control, with no cooling down period between, this is not considered a desire for revenge. A threat of a beating to a
reasonable person would not make them lose control and kill so this cannot be used. In the case of Ahluwalia, the ratio shows where the D fears a
future attack, like Helen does, and they kill the fear trigger cannot be used as a defence. However, as the case of Thornton explains, if there is
evidence of previous violence to the D by V, it is more likely the D suffered LOC from the things said/done up to and including the final event.
The anger trigger takes into account things said or done

Citizens who agree with Donald Trump's travel ban order say that they feel better and safer since this ban was announced. They say that
immigrants are not welcome to enter the United States. They believe that immigrants who are escaping death in their countries are entering the
United States to do "terror" attacks. A U.S. political polling editor at Thomson Reuters, Chris Khan, mention in his article, a couple of questions
that were asked to people in the United States. One of the questions was, "What comes closer to your opinion? Because of Trump 's travel ban, I
feel more safe / less safe." About 30% of the answers were "I feel more safe" And about 25% "I feel less safe" and the others had no response. Most
people in the United States have some negative feelings about refugees coming from overseas after the attack of 9/11. Some Republicans say that they
would feel safer if there were no Muslims entering the United States. "Banning people from Muslim countries is necessary to prevent terrorism" (Khan).
Let's start with the wording. The use of the phrase "foreign terrorist" has an extreme negative prejudice against 1.6 billion human beings (Chappell).

inappropriate. They disputed eleven publications that were considered offensive for having content the school named "anti–Semitic," "anti–Christian,"

Some of the more recent publications that are censored in the United States include Dav Pilkey's Captain Underpants, Looking for Alaska by John

The January precept states that you are far too smart to be the only thing standing in your way. I decided to ponder this statement for one month. Each
day I examined the precept from a different perspective, and thought about what it means. After several days of contemplation I decided to directly
apply the precept to different life situations. By the end of the month I had learned many new things about myself. This time also helped me gain
insight on the true meaning behind the January precept. Ultimately I decided to agree with the principle of the January Precept. In my life, the January
precept holds great personal meaning. Each day I am guided by the principle outlined in this precept. Following this principle has helped me lead a
more positive and healthy life. When... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I would encourage anyone to think about this precept, and decide if they think it should be applied to their life. I believe that if everyone were
guided by this principle the world would have many more people who are inspired and have the confidence to accomplish their most unfeasible
dreams and goals. For these reasons I find profuse meaning in the January precept. I believe that I am currently living by the principal of the
January precept. In the past I often allowed myself to get in the way of growing as a person. One example of a time when I stood in my own way
was when I applied for a job on December 30, 2016. After applying for a position at Publix supermarket I patiently awaited a phone call. Nearly
eleven months went by with no reciprocation from Publix. Finally, on November 15th, 2017, I marched into Publix and spoke to a manager. After
eleven months of waiting I was rewarded with a job. However the manager informed me that if I had spoken to him earlier I would have been given
the position right away. Because of this disappointment, I learned to be more ambitious and not allow lack

When I Grow So Hard To Grow
Have you ever wondered why your 6'1" but your mom is 5'6 and your dad is 5'9? I chose this topic because I'm curious on how I got my height,
even though my parents are short and all of my relatives are 6' and under. I also chose this topic because I want to be taller than I already am and I
want to know the maximum amount I can grow. I knew a little bit about growing before I researched this, but not much. I knew that you would have
to eat well and get proper sleep, but I learned a whole lot more than I thought possible. I really wanted to know when I would grow the most and
when I would stop, and I wanted to know how much genetics played in growing. Those were the main things I wanted to know, but there were a lot of
other little questions... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Quality of parental care, if your parents don't take care of you that will definitely hurt your growth, whether it's getting enough food, or sleep. ( Dr.
Goel, 1)
If your birth weight was low, then there's a larger probability that you won't grow as much. ( Dr. Goel, 1) To answer my question if it is possible to
grow taller, I concluded that it is possible under some conditions. If you are over twenty, the chances that you'll grow more are almost impossible.
However, if you are still in your childhood or very low twenties (20–22) you can enhance your growth rate, or add on a couple inches.
Reflections on my Search What I learned about growing is really important because before I had researched about growing I would have done
things that I thought would make me grow taller, but actually would hurt my growth. My research is not done, I have briefly learned about the
aspects of growing, I found about half of what I wanted, what I really wanted to know was a really quick way to get taller. I did find out how to get
taller over time, but I needed to know how to grow a little in 1–2 days. Now that I know most of the basics of growing, I can use the tips in my life to
get taller and help me in my

Outliers : The Story Of Success
We are presented with a theory that there aren't any successful self–made people, which we know is contrary to popular beliefs. This theory was
presented by Malcolm Gladwell in his book, Outliers: The Story of Success. The theory is further defined by the premise that holds that success is
enabled by a person's culture, environment, when and where they were born, and a strong work ethic. These theories and examples of success are
analyzed using the textbook, Leadership: Research Findings, Practice, and Skills (2015) by Andrew DuBrin. Several examples are provided in this
paper that illustrate and support Gladwell's thoughts on opportunity and cultural legacy.
An Analysis of Outliers: The Story of Success
Outliers is Malcolm Gladwell 's examination of what makes some people excessively more successful than others. These "outliers," as he calls them,
are commonly thought to possess talent and intelligence far above that of the average person, but he challenges this popular belief by looking at the
background of some notable outliers.
Further, he argues that people are more a product of their environment, culture, life experiences and even when a person was born. Andrew DuBrin
textbook provides theories and concepts of leadership that can be correlated to the actions of the good people mentioned in Gladwell's book. It would
make sense to say that the success of individuals would come from something more than what is within the individual.

INTRODUCTION Copley Manufacturing Company was primarily a manufacturer of a wide line of cutting tools and related parts and supplies. Late in 1980, Mr. Sagan, director of corporate development and Mr. Albert, executive vice president agreed that regular formal planning should become part of management's way of life at Copley. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY In 1981, Copley Manufacturing Company had begun formal corporatewide planning. The formalized planning was ingrained into life at Copley through a series of visits by corporate groups, planning review meetings, as well as planning response meetings. However in 1982, ... COMMENTS AND PROBABLE REASONS IN 1981 Generally, it was felt that the planning effort at Copley in 1981 had made a good beginning because most agreed that the plans had provided useful information to aid the top management to obtain better understanding on Copley's business activities. DISCUSSION OF SITUATION IN 1982 In 1982, formal planning had been significantly affected by certain organizational changes, such as the elevation of Mr. Albert to president, the creation of two corporate staff functions, the further delegation of operating responsibility and the segregation of the Cutting Tool Division. In the same year, the planning committee decided to divide the formal planning cycle into three phases, which were the Strategy Development phase, the Quantitative phase and the Action phase. The division's strategic plans were presented to corporate management by each division in a planning review meeting and subsequently evaluated in a planning response meeting (Lee & Ke 2004). Unlike 1981, these meetings followed each other on the same day in 1982.

  • 4. The Road To Glory Analysis On the Blue Planet, the Committee of Twelve preformed an ancient tradition, in which they compete against each other for the privilege of selecting a writer, to update, 'The Road to Glory: the History of the Gotitright Family.' The Selection Day occurs every twenty years, on the first day of January and has since 1908. Now, to minimize stress, on this day, the twelve members of the Committee partake in numerous rounds of– rock, paper, and scissors, and the victor, of course, selects the writer from the Committee's Approved List. Accordingly, the competition commenced in 2328 at noon and Cort West, a member of the Committee for thirty–two years, prevailed in the final round with rock over scissors. With a feeble voice he had told Cort someone had poisoned his tea, so beware of those who lead and with his last breath whisper something about a book – family tradition – tucked away in the safe in the family vault...however, he died before he could finish. Three days after the funeral, he opened the safe and all he found was the family's copy of the 1908 edition of 'The Road to Glory: the History of the Gotitright Family.' As he recalled, he guffaws, because reading one edition meant you had read them all, so, without even touching the book he shut the safe and hadn't opened it since then. Following that experience, he believed his father suffered from a touch of paranoia and wiped it from his mind. Until now, that's what he had always believed and of course this bothers him. All of a sudden a thought raced across his brow. Quickly, he rose from his chair, went straight to the Beveled glass bookcase and pushed a button hidden behind the seventh book on the fifth shelf and the wall to his left slide apart, revealing the family vault. Immediately upon entering the vault, he opened the safe and this time removed the book. With book in hand, he went back to this study, sat in his favorite overstuffed chair, and read the book from cover to cover, including the inscription written on the last ... • 6. Use of Symbols in Paul's Case Essay Symbols are one of those most important things to a story. They share the meaning of themselves, as well as the meaning for something else. Symbols usually make the important ideas stick out as well as make the reader have different ideas of what is actually being said. One of the many symbols in "Paul's Case" is flower's. From violets to carnations, the flowers Paul talks about are ones of many meanings. The flowers represent a continual motif, expressing Paul's character. The narrator expresses the teacher's views towards Paul's flowers, "...his whole attitude was symbolized by his shrug and his flippantly red carnation..." (Cather). Whether it is to his teacher's or his music instructor, Paul always has that quirky smile. This offset smile symbolizes all the feelings Paul has inside. It symbolizes the rude ways that Paul does not even know he is doing. It symbolizes that something is wrong. The narrator states, "Older boys than Paul had broken down and shed tears under that ordeal, but his set smile did not once desert him..." (Cather). Paul does not seem to know that he makes people feel uncomfortable under his smile. He makes people feel insecure about themselves, but maybe that is what Paul wants them to feel. Critics say, "Paul is smiling, and his accusers find his appearance–especially the red carnation in his lapel– 'not properly significant of the contrite spirit befitting a boy under the ban of suspension'" (Wilson). For Paul being so out of place and unnoticeable in society, he sure gets a lot of attention from teachers. Paul's smile shows the teacher that he thinks everything they are saying is a complete waste of time because he honestly does not care. Paul's drawing master added, "I don't really believe that smile of his comes altogether from insolence; there's something sort of haunted about it" (Cather). Paul's drawing teacher see's through Paul's know–it–all smile and thinks that there is more to it. That maybe his smile is not out of rudeness, but of something like a disability. Wisdom teeth can cause discomfort and the need for you to visit your dentist. Wisdom teeth are the last teeth to erupt. There are usually four wisdom teeth – two on top and two on the bottom. They rarely come in normally, and most often need to be removed. Wisdom tooth pain is a common symptom of these teeth trying to erupt. Since wisdom teeth come into the very back of your mouth, they don't always have space to come in as straight as your other molars. They oftentimes come in sideways and misaligned. They push on other teeth as they try to erupt and cause crowding. As your wisdom teeth come in they can cause mild to severe discomfort. Wisdom tooth pain isn't always localized to the actual wisdom tooth. You may have pain in and around the new tooth, pain around your other teeth – and even pain in and around your ear. Alexie and Barry's lives were very different apart from each other, but the same effect can be made. They both went through tough and difficult times no matter what it was, and ended up making the most out of it. The Vertical Hour does not have this in common. Instead of focusing on her life growing up, it is about her life now and how she is handling it. This can really compare and contrast the way children handle their lives versus adult's handling their lives. Of course adults make the tougher and harder decisions in life, and everything they do can hugely impact them. But children start the base of their own lives before they become adults, and this ultimately shapes them. No one can be an adult without first being a child. This is very obvious, but not in a certain way. Before growing up and being responsible, children have to make dumb and stupid decisions. Alexie barely wrote about this and Barry definitely did not. • 21. Adnan's Guilty Analysis From the evidence presented in the podcast and by the witnesses who claim to have seen Adnan Syed who can come to the conclusion that these alibis are not valid because of inconsistencies and errors in the case. When it comes to Adnan's supposed alibi at the library, there are several errors that invalidate Adnan's possible alibi. Asia Mcclain claims that "she specifically remembers me being at thelibrary, at the public library, right after school." (Koenig 1) But the problem with that is later after she had written the affidavit for the trial, Asia invalidated her original statement. "Asia had called one of the prosecutors in Adnan's case, a guy named Kevin Urick, and undermined her own statement." She told me that she'd only written it because she was getting pressure from the family, and she basically wrote it to please them and get them off her back." (Koenig 1) While discussing the alibi in the podcast Sarah Koenig came to the conclusion of, "Because if he was, library equals innocent. It's so maddeningly simple." She's right, it is so maddeningly simple because from the invalidated alibi, we can significantly prove that Adnan was not at the library but instead committing the murder of Hae Min Lee. Although you can claim the possible invalidation of Adnan's alibi, there is substantial and undeniable evidence from other people supplying alibi's that proves that Adnan's alibi is not invalidated. In contrast to the possible invalidation of Adnan's alibi, Adnan could have been at the library all afternoon as well as Hae at the school since the state's timeline has some errors. So if we assume that Adnan was at the public library from 2:15–3:30 and at track practice from 3:30– to about 4:30 or 5:30 like he claims in his timeline, then we know that it is impossible for him to have killed Hae in the best buy parking lot before ... • 23. January, 1795, By Mary Robinson In the poem "January, 1795" by Mary Robinson, she writes about people living in luxury while others are in poverty. She shows this throughout, such as, "Lords in ermine, beggars freezing". The world around her seemed to be expanding while the rich try to keep up with the new advances while going bankrupt from their lifestyle in the process. While the poor remain in poverty and seek opportunity as they beg on the streets or seek shelter, they are overlooked by the wealthy. Robinson describes this as a very cold and dark time for everyone but she seems to still find the beauty out of the worst situations. Robinson describes some social and moral issues throughout this dark time as people struggle to keep their image and class in society. In line 11 Robinson demonstrates the distinction between the social classes, while the wealthy people seem to be enjoying themselves and unbothered by the rest of less fortunate suffering through hard times, "Balls, where simp'ring misses languish; Hospitals, and groans of anguish." (11) During this time everything was changing along with the absence of morals from individuals. It seemed they no longer cared about refinery or remaining polished but had turned corrupt in a sense that they preferred deviance and honesty shown in line 21 , "Taste and talents quite deserted; all the laws of ... When Reagan took his oath into office, he inherited prior damage from predecessor Jimmy Carter, including the issue of the Iranian Hostage Crisis as well as damage inflicted by the Vietnam War from years prior. Reagan's start in politics was not the normal approach. Coming from a successful career as a popular Hollywood actor, Reagan acquired his interest in politics in a more unconventional way. Late in 1980, Mr. Sagan, director of corporate development and Mr. Albert, executive vice president agreed that regular formal planning should become part ofmanagement 's way of life at Copley. COMMENTS AND PROBABLE REASONS IN 1982 Generally, the progress of the planning effort in 1982 was temporarily obstructed by several organizational changes and developments in Copley. It was disruptive to the planning effort because considerable management effort had been placed on managing the acquisition of new company and on working out the segregation of divisions. DISCUSSION OF SITUATION IN 1983 In 1983, the planning process was largely influenced and administered by Mr. Tyler, executive vice president. The division managers were required to reduce the number of pages for each product group strategy and the related financial five–year plan in order to allow the divisional management to have more time for strategic considerations (Tucker 1999). Besides that, the management review process was also altered.

  • 28. Judging People Research Paper We live in a society that is solely focused on appearance and how we look to others. Look at the people around you and what is the first thing you notice? You might see their hair color, skin tone, and their clothing. Though while you are doing that you could be making silent observations. Why do we do that? People say away from the people who "look dangerous" and people will like the people who are attractive. Though when it comes to judging appearance it's something that is a part of our lives. Is it good? Is it bad? When humans judge one another it comes from an evolutionary adaptation, however in modern times with a structured society it is not acceptable to do so. "Why Judging by Appearance Can Be Harmful."The Huffington Post. TheHuffingtonPost.com, n.d. Web. 14 Jan. 2017.) We are quick to make judgements on people's lives completely based on how we see them at that particular moment. One can make the assumption that you are lazy if you come into work late or not properly dressed. Though they don't know the true story, you could be having an off day or something is currently happening in your life. Humans are so focused on being right on our observations that when we told something other than what we think we refuse to believe it. Raymond Torrs states that, "It's hard to understand the nature of other people or the natural world, if all we really care to know is any and everything that comes out of our own mind. This attitude constrains our ability to find out more about any issue. We assume that just because we call something for what it is or what we think it is, that there isn't a composite of underlying and interactive factors responsible for our observations." (Torres, Raymond. "Why Judging by Appearance Can Be Harmful." The Huffington Post. TheHuffingtonPost.com, n.d. Web. 14 Jan. 2017.) We shouldn't make simple judgements on people by external appearance because it is superficial and often unfair. After all, you don't know what circumstances the person might be facing or who the person really is. Perhaps the person comes from a less fortunate family than you and cannot afford the kind of stylish clothes your friends wear. However, that does not mean the person is less intelligent or interesting than you are. People have the lack of discernment which leads to large ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For Helen to satisfy the AR of murder (the unlawful killing) she must be the factual and legal cause of the death. We use the but for test, which shows if the consequence would or wouldn't of happened 'but for' the Ds actions. As in the case of R v White, 'but for' him poisoning his mothers drink, she would of died anyway as she died of a heart attack, so he was not guilty of murder. The LOC subjective test is defined in R v Richens and can be looked at subjectively taking into account the D's personal characteristics. Helen suffers from a personality disorder with the symptoms being 'short temper and aggression when under stress', and also suffered months of violence from her partner, so to conclude Helen did lose LOC and attempted to seriously harm Ian. The fear trigger can be used if the D feared violence from the V. Due to the past of violence Helen experienced, and the threat Ian made about 'beating' her the next morning, she had a fear of violence. However, the act makes it clear the D cannot use the fear trigger if there was a 'considered desire for revenge'. As in the case of R v Baillie, if there is evidence which shows the provocation (the threat) was enough to make a reasonable man lose self control, with no cooling down period between, this is not considered a desire for revenge. A threat of a beating to a reasonable person would not make them lose control and kill so this cannot be used. In the case of Ahluwalia, the ratio shows where the D fears a future attack, like Helen does, and they kill the fear trigger cannot be used as a defence. However, as the case of Thornton explains, if there is evidence of previous violence to the D by V, it is more likely the D suffered LOC from the things said/done up to and including the final event. Some Jewish groups reacted in the same manner, auguring that it would shed more light on the Holocaust. However, despite the existence of several copies of the book, government officials were reluctant to have the book declared "open access," fearing that it could... In this case, the Court had to rule whether the decision of the Board of Education at the Island Trees Union Free School District had acted in violation of the Constitution by censoring some books they considered inappropriate. They disputed eleven publications that were considered offensive for having content the school named "anti–Semitic," "anti–Christian," "anti–American," and "filthy" (Legal Information Institute). In his ruling, Justice Brennan stated that students had the right to read whatever they wanted because joining a school did not amount to a legal curtailment of their constitutional rights. Justice Blackmun concurred with Brennan's sentiments stating that it would be a curtailment of the First Amendment if school administrators were allowed to pull off books from libraries simply because they were opposed to the ideas in them. Some of the more recent publications that are censored in the United States include Dav Pilkey's Captain Underpants, Looking for Alaska by John Green, The Bluest Eyes by Toni Morrison, and E. L. James's now famous Fifty Shades of Grey. Most of these books are undercensorship due to the moral implications of their content. • 40. January Precept Analysis The January precept states that you are far too smart to be the only thing standing in your way. I decided to ponder this statement for one month. Each day I examined the precept from a different perspective, and thought about what it means. I would encourage anyone to think about this precept, and decide if they think it should be applied to their life. I believe that if everyone were guided by this principle the world would have many more people who are inspired and have the confidence to accomplish their most unfeasible dreams and goals. For these reasons I find profuse meaning in the January precept. I believe that I am currently living by the principal of the January precept. In the past I often allowed myself to get in the way of growing as a person. One example of a time when I stood in my own way was when I applied for a job on December 30, 2016. After applying for a position at Publix supermarket I patiently awaited a phone call. Nearly eleven months went by with no reciprocation from Publix. Finally, on November 15th, 2017, I marched into Publix and spoke to a manager. After eleven months of waiting I was rewarded with a job. However the manager informed me that if I had spoken to him earlier I would have been given the position right away. Because of this disappointment, I learned to be more ambitious and not allow lack ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 43. Outliers : The Story Of Success We are presented with a theory that there aren't any successful self–made people, which we know is contrary to popular beliefs. This theory was presented by Malcolm Gladwell in his book, Outliers: The Story of Success. The theory is further defined by the premise that holds that success is enabled by a person's culture, environment, when and where they were born, and a strong work ethic. These theories and examples of success are analyzed using the textbook, Leadership: Research Findings, Practice, and Skills (2015) by Andrew DuBrin. Several examples are provided in this paper that illustrate and support Gladwell's thoughts on opportunity and cultural legacy. An Analysis of Outliers: The Story of Success Outliers is Malcolm Gladwell 's examination of what makes some people excessively more successful than others. These "outliers," as he calls them, are commonly thought to possess talent and intelligence far above that of the average person, but he challenges this popular belief by looking at the background of some notable outliers. Further, he argues that people are more a product of their environment, culture, life experiences and even when a person was born. Andrew DuBrin textbook provides theories and concepts of leadership that can be correlated to the actions of the good people mentioned in Gladwell's book. It would make sense to say that the success of individuals would come from something more than what is within the individual. Discussion Malcolm Gladwell (2008) ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
