The Sorrowful Woman Short Story
Everyone experiences sorrow in their lives, it is not an enjoyable feeling, but a person may learn life
lessons from dealing with it. Two women experience the dreadful feeling of sorrow in two different
stories. The first woman s name is Faye, from A Secret Sorrow by Karen van der Zee. The second
woman is from The Sorrowful Woman by Gail Godwin. In both stories sorrow plays a big role in the
plots, but the two stories are extremely different. The story, written by van der Zee is more enjoyable
than Godwin s because of the way the characters behave, the conflict, and fairy tale qualities. The
characters in both stories must deal with family dilemmas, but the way the characters deal with them
are different. Faye and Kai are in a serious relationship together until Faye feels she must leave him.
She knows she is barren and cannot have the children she desires. Faye feels she is terrible for Kai
because she cannot give him children. She loves her husband so much, she is willing to leave him so
he can have a real family. However, her husband refuses to leave and even demands, You re coming
with me, now. And I m not letting you out of my sight until we re safely married (van der Zee 35). Kai
is extremely demanding, but lets his wife know he will never abandon her because she cannot bear
children. His love for her is admirable and a model for all couples. All Faye desires is a loving family
with her husband Kai. One woman who feels completely different than Faye is the mother

A Summary On The Sunset Manicure
Kleancolor Metallics sunset manicure.
This is the sister manicure to my Kleancolor purple/ blue peacock. These metallic polishes, simply
named Metallic Orange and Metallic Yellow , apply as smoothly and easily as the blue and purple.
The consistency was the same, thick, but not too thick. These polishes are 2 coaters, but they go on
reasonably opaque with the first coat. Meaning if you re short on time, you could get away with a few
thick swipes. Here I used the same gradient technique, applying one coat of the yellow polish and
gradually blending yellow to orange. I sponged on a bit of Sally Hansen s Copper Penny to the tips to
give the orange polish a bit of sparkle. You know I love to sparkle!
Gradient tutorial: For this tutorial I used colors that obviously don t go together so that you can see
how to make a seamless blend.
[use purple and green, one thick and dark, the other thinner and light.]
First step: After you apply your base coat, your first color coat should ordinarily be the lightest of the
polishes you ve chosen for your gradient. I say usually because there are plenty of times when you
might want to use a darker base color and sponge a lighter color over it. Since this is a basic tutorial,
however, I ll keep it simple.
[pic of nails with base color]
While you re waiting for that coat of color to dry, I suggest applying a latex type coating or a
homemade glue mix to the skin around your nails. You could use tape also.

The Noh Theater
Imagine two mimes wearing masks and colorful robes, the image would not be too terribly far off
from a common Noh play. Originating in Japan during the fourteenth century, the Noh Theatre uses
few actors wearing colorful clothing and depictive masks to perform beautiful plays pertaining to the
afterlife. Due to the dark times it came from and the sad way it was performed, Noh Theatre is one of
the most dramatic of its time. O Donnell states the origins of Noh start in the Muromachi period of
Japan, which began in 1338 when Takauji overthrew Go Daigo as shogun, the ruler of Japan. This
period lasted from 1338 1573 and is known for its military conflicts and intrigue. During the first 50
years of this period the north and south were segregated, until the south agreed under the rule of a
single shogun. In those 50 years multiple earthquakes struck Japan, draught and famine, and two new
diseases swept the nation killing thousands. In 1370 Yoshimitsu had taken the title of shogun,
introducing trade with China and forming new social classes. The prosperity did not last long as the
power struggle for shogun began the Onin War in 1467. After its resolution smaller battles continued
between those who wanted power and money, as many shoguns spent time for their own good instead
of governing their people (O Donnell). Using two types of plays, sarugaku, which was mimicry, and
kagura, religious theatre; it is from these dark times that Kannami and his son Zeami created Noh
theatre

The Outsiders, By SE Hinton
Ponyboys Story
Ponyboy tells us that, when you re a gang you stick up for members. If you don t stick up stick
together, make like brothers, it isn t a gang anymore, (Hinton 26). This is what the greasers do for each
other: they stick up for one another and build a supportive community. In the story, The Outsiders, by
SE Hinton, the book is about Ponyboy and his gang taking care of each other because there gang is
that they fight against the Socs. The characters and actions of this story create a supportive community
Kindness and Loyalty.
To begin with, characters and actions in The Outsiders prove the kindness creates a supportive
community. For example, the character Cherry proves when she thanks Ponyboy for stopping Dallas s
dirty talk so he is showing kindness. In the second chapter of the story, Cherry said, you didn t join
Dallas s dirty talk, and you made him leave us alone, (Hinton 26). What Cherry is saying is that
Ponyboy is the kindness, and nicest qualities that rare to her. By telling Ponyboy thanks, Cherry means
that having kindness by reading because Cherry and him look at the same sunset. If Cherry tells
Ponyboy thanks it s for what he did was kind then kindness characters matter to a supportive
community because they take peoples hate away a bit. Furthermore, an important action in the story
that proves kindness is when Ponyboy dropped the pop bottle because he wouldn t hurt anyone. When
Ponyboy says I can t use this, I said dropping the pop bottle, I

The Vogue Of The Lady
As Solomon s work explain, the vogue of the lady, as promoted in English advice literature, had a
large impact on American parents intent on training girls to be polished but congenial, obedient as
daughters and future wives among the community. While this study highlights data on Mary Lyon on a
deeper context, their findings also discuses how the mere presence of economic necessity and
religious zeal in the society significantly affected women s academic development. In terms of the
author s evaluation, In the Company of Educated Women outlines a strong narrative on these
dimensions and its relations to women s struggles in access to academia. The discouraging effects
started with English literature. Solomon concluded the early half of 1700s beliefs with a novel from
Samuel Richardson which highlighted two characters: first Pamela, who preserved her virginity which
own her marriage into the gentry, and secondly, Clarissa, who was a proud heroine disobeying her
parents and ending up dead for her mistake. These types of studies implored through the society as
evidence to use education only to a certain extent to sway women s focus towards the marital training.
Of lesser impact, the author also discusses another figure, Eliza Lucas Pinckney who was
accomplished to study freely and helped her father grow her business. She was reminded of her place
as a female, Solomon indicates. Later she was engaged in a speech in which she accepted her husband
superiority and recognized

What Does Digger Mean
Digger It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining and the grass was green, in middle of the yard was a
trampoline. The net was black and the mat that covered the grey silver springs was a medium dark
blue and has holes from the dogs going up and down and up and down. You could hear the paws go
off the mat and makes the spring go back to it s original position, I was doing a flip. Five minutes had
passed before I heard a vomit noise that sounded like water coming down a faucet. Then I saw Digger,
Digger was a golden retriever with dark eyes and a pink nose. His nose was pink because he would
stick it in the sparkly white snow every white winter. Right there Digger was trying to tell me

But not that sad because I know that Digger will always be in my heart forever. Until the day that I die

Leonard Bernstein s West Side Story
Imagine you are a play fanatic in 1957, clutching your ticket, waiting to enter a magnificent theater, to
see the opening of West Side Story. You loved the choreography Jerome Robbins always created, and
watching his pervious plays, Peter Pan, Fiddler on the Roof, and Gypsy .You could not be more
thrilled to see the musical West Side Story, which he choreographed and directed. Leonard Bernstein
has grown to become one of you favorite composers, and you can barely contain your anticipation to

authentic its music is. You wonder if the music of West Side Story is authentic to the Puerto Rican
culture, or just Americanized to satisfy audiences. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The plot line for the musical was similar to the storyline of Romeo and Juliet. West Side Story was a
tragic romance about two protagonist lovers from opposing gangs, the Puerto Rican Sharks and the
White American Jets. The protagonists in the musical are Maria, a Shark, and Tony, a Jet; two young
adults who fell in love with one another. The two gangs, let their rivalry and differences constantly get
in the way, whether they are at a dance, on a basketball court, or in a convenient store. At one of their
rumbles, each side ended up murdering the other side s leader. (Tony killed Bernardo, Maria s
brother.) Maria eventually found out and forgave Tony, but asked him to stop future fights from
happening, so they could marry one another. Although information proven false, the Sharks were
alerted that Maria was killed by Chino, also a Shark. Tony eventually found out about the dreadful
news, located Chino, and plead Chino to shoot him. Right as he pulled the trigger, Tony saw Maria,
alive and well. Hysterical, Maria clutched Tony in her arms, and spoke to both sides about their
wrongdoings. The Sharks and Jets banded together, carried Tony s lifeless body offstage, and ended
the violence between the two gangs

Graham Green s The Quiet American Essay
Graham Green s The Quiet American
The Quiet American by Graham Green is a story set during the Vietnam War before the United States
became involved. The main character is Thomas Fowler, an English Reporter stationed in Vietnam.
The story follows approximately six months of his life where he is faced with personal, professional,
and ethical trials. The story also follows closely, the lives of two close friends, Pyle and Phuong. Each
of the three main characters are from a different country, and they were used to represent it.
As the main character in the novel, Fowler possessed many complex levels to his psyche.

He is the perfect gentlemen, has money, and a good future. Pyle was a very quiet American (17). Only
he does possess one flaw, he is an assassin. He aids in the making of bombs and helps with the actual
bombing of areas. He was responsible for the bomb that killed several women and children in the
town square and all he could think about was the fact that he had to clean the blood off of his shoes
before he met with the Minister. He represented America, in that he pretended to stay out of the
situation, and simply be a good guy , but in reality was extremely involved. Much like the US was not
actually fighting, but helping France economically to fight instead, and wasn t publicly in the war until
the 60 s but was most likely involved earlier than that.
Eighteen year old, Vietnamese Phuong was terribly naive. This young girl was in a state of peace with
Fowler, but what she really wanted was to be settled, married. She, much like Vietnam, was being
fought for. And was constantly wavering between Fowler and Pyle. The Vietnamese want[ed] enough
rice (94) that s all, and all Phuong wanted was to be settled. That was why she left Fowler for Pyle,
why Pyles death wasn t so devastating for her, and why she was so happy to be able to be the second
Mrs. Fowler.
All three of these characters were believable. They were all flawed, and with a slight exception of
Pyle, all

What Is My Special Place Essay
Lose stones crunch underneath my feet as I walk along the sand towards my favourite beach, metres

Importance Of Love In My Life
I had always loved nature. I always played outside and ran around in the morning to cool off in the

flowers that were the most beautiful and alive. My mom loved them. Not just, oh cause my kid gave

afternoons when I d roll down the steep hill in our backyard. Getting fresh mowed grass stuck in the
massive brown mop on my head. Now, I just have homework all night. Like all night. I can only watch
the neighbor kids from the window. Only wishing I could tell them what was coming. But I couldn t, I
just sat there listening to the birds chirping. I d never be able to smell the grape vines fresh in the
spring. Only in the woods did I feel at home. Or catch the golden leaves as they fell from the trees in
fall. It was like the world was ending, but at the same time, not ending. So in my opinion, I had to
suffer. Samantha Rose Jenkan! My mom hollered contempt. I perked up immediately like a deer
reacting to gun fire. Get down here right now! Stop moaning like a dying animal! You re in big

The Effects of Burning Carbon Dioxide Essay
The Effects of Burning Carbon Dioxide
The main waste product of fuel we burn is carbon dioxide, which is thought to have been the main
factor in the gradual rise of global temperatures of the last hundred years. The rise is called Global
Warming . The mechanism used to explain the rise in temperature is the greenhouse effect. Infrared
radiation is trapped by atmospheric gases. Sunlight easily passes these gases on it way into the earth s
atmosphere but on its way out the gases reflect the radiation back towards earth. Therefore as these
gases increases the amount of radiation kept in the atmosphere is increased. Caron dioxide is one of
the main green houses gases. Carbon dioxide is a waste product ... Show more content on

He suggests that rather than cutting carbon dioxide emissions, it would be more cost effective to
reduce the amount of sunlight entering the atmosphere by scattering the sun s rays. Fine metallic nets
deployed in the stratosphere should do the trick according to Mr. Teller. This would help slow or even
stop global warming.
Carbon Monoxide:
Carbon monoxide forms during incomplete combustion of hydrocarbons. It is extremely hazardous as
things such as gas central heating boilers which are badly maintained can leak the gas causing carbon
monoxide poisoning which would result in death. Carbon monoxide reacts irreversibly with
haemoglobin. In red blood cells haemoglobin normally reacts with oxygen to form oxyhaemoglobin,
which is then transported from our lungs to all our body cells. When carbon monoxide is breathed in it
combines with haemoglobin to form carboxyhaemoglobin where the oxygen is not released from the
haemoglobin therefore causing a lack of oxygen which can result in death.
The solutions to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning are to give the odorless gas a distinct smell so
that people can smell when there are gas leaks in their appliances. Another solution is to install carbon
monoxide detectors which act in the same way as fire alarms and give off a signal when they detect
carbon monoxide. There are other precautions which can be taken such as maintaining your

Literary Analysis
The Road Not Taken Robert Frost s poem The Road Not Taken describes a traveler faced with a
choice of which one of two roads to travel. He knows not where either road might lead. In order to
continue on his journey, he can pick only one road. He scrutinizes both roads for the possibilities of
where they may take him in his travels. Frost s traveler realizes that regret is inevitable. Regardless of
his choice, he knows that he will miss the experiences he might have encountered on the road not
taken. Images in the poem reflect the difficulties of the choice the traveler faces. The difficulty is
shown in the passage long I stood (3) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He predicts that he will always remember this moment of choice and will be telling it with a sigh (16)
when he is old. His choice will have made all the difference (20) and affected his whole journey. Frost
creates a tone of inevitability that no matter what the choice, there will always be regret. Frost presents
the traveler s choice of paths as a metaphor for the difficult decisions a person must make in life. The
divergent paths are the choices to be made at various points along the way. Regardless of how he tries,
the traveler cannot see beyond where the path is bent in the undergrowth (5). Likewise, nobody can
predict what effect one choice will have on his life. The traveler sees the two paths as very similar or
just as fair (6). As much as the traveler would like to return to the diverging roads, he realizes that he
will not get another chance to travel the other path. With maturity comes a resignation that a choice
has affected a person s life and there is no going back. He also tries to make the best of his decision by
saying that it has made all the difference. (20). In The Road Not Taken , images of the bright woods
and wide open opportunity to choose are contrasted with the indecision and regret of only being able
to travel one path. Word choice and a slight sorrowful tone reinforce the theme of regret. Frost
presents divergent roads as a metaphor for the choices a person must make in life. The traveler s rueful

Nazi Propaganda In Nazi Germany
Nazi Propaganda
Propaganda tries to force a doctrine on the whole people... Propaganda works on the general public
from the standpoint of an idea and makes them ripe for the victory of this idea, (United States
Holocaust Memorial Museum 1) written by Adolf Hitler in his book Mein Kampf published in 1925.
Propaganda is defined as the spreading of ideas, information or rumors for the purpose of helping or
hurting an institution (Propaganda in Nazi Germany 1). After the Nazi seizure of power in 1933, they
used this method of persuasion to spread the ideas of National Socialism, racism, anti Semitism, and

Hitler believed the Aryan people and those of true German decent were predestined to rule the world.
All other races were seen as a threat to the end product of his master plan(The Holocaust Explained).
This led to deportation, being forced to live in ghettos, and eventually the killing of races seen as
degenerates to the Nazi party. Propaganda was used to create stereotypes and bad images of Jews and
other unworthy races, while creating a fear, distrust and eventually a hatred of these supposed
enemies. Anti Semitic and other racist propaganda was used to justify the status of pariah being given
to Jews and others deemed as undesirables (The Chief). This form of manipulation also helped to
portray Germany as the defender of the west after the German invasion of the Soviet Union. The
propaganda painted a catastrophic image of what would have happened if the Soviets would have

Disadvantages Of Being A Gladiator
What was life as a gladiator? How does it affect humans today? What were the advantages and
disadvantages of being a gladiator? There are so many are so many questions about gladiators that go
unanswered, but now, thanks to archaeologists, we are able to answer those questions. Evidence shows
that being a gladiators had both advantages and disadvantages. A gladiator is an armed fighter who
entertained audiences in the Roman Empire by fighting against other gladiators, wild animals, and
criminals. In late 1st century, Nicolaus of Damascus believed they were Etruscans. A generation later,
the 1st gladiatorial ceremonies were held in 310 BC. It was held by the Campanians in celebration of
their over the Samnites. The Romans were greatly influenced by their predecessors the Etruscans. For
example, the Etruscans always sacrificed an animal before their ceremonies, so the Romans started
doing the same. Gladiators were usually slaves or criminals, but could also be free men. Professionals
gladiators were usually free men, but they were all treated as slaves. Free men still wore shackles and
had to do whatever they were told. Although they were treated as slaves, free men would often be the
most popular amongst the crowd. Criminals and slaves would be set free if they survived 3 5 years as
a gladiator. More than 100 gladiator schools were built throughout the Roman Empire. Gladiators
were sent to school depending on if they were a criminal or not.

Sunset Howard Dishonesty Quotes
Sunset Boulevard is a film noir movie that was released in 1950. When looked at, the main character
Joe Gillis, portrayed by William Holden, can be seen as an anti hero. Joe shows his anti heroic
behavior in many ways. For example, he is dishonest, he uses the people around him, and he also is
only focused on elevating himself. One of the many examples of the dishonesty of Joe. One of the
most notable examples of his is when he meets Norma Desmond, portrayed by Gloria Swanson. He
starts out being noble by telling her that she should rethink let him look over the script, however, he
quickly becomes crooked. He tells her falsehoods to try and extort money out of her. This transforms
into him taking advantage of the situation.
He starts by taking advantage of Norma as the movie continues. Again, Joe starts being somewhat
noble by trying to tell Norma that he does not need to move into the house but stay at his apartment.
But, this changes when Norma tells him that everything has been paid for. He quickly drops the
argument and starts to live there. He also lets her buy him fancy suits and gifts without much if any
argument. It can also be seen that he is more concerned about the money and his elevating status ...

up with because of all the changes it has suffered. She also mentions prohibition, which by definition
is a reform movement that outlawed drinking because it s effects on the home, in order to really
capture how increasing industrialization led to the gradual loss of the traditional Californian way of
life. She uses prohibition as an example to show how people s ideas are shifting with the introduction

Golden Dart Frog Lab Report
Golden Dart Frogs and Sexual Conditioning Experiment The bright and welcoming golden yellow
colored skin of the Phyllobates terribilis should not be mistaken. Secreted with a vicious poison, the
golden yellow color does not reflect sunshine rays or happiness but rather a crucial survival skill of
these golden dart frogs. A vacation to the Amazonian rainforest should be done in caution, avoiding
these brightly colored frogs. Because this species of frogs has become endangered, an experiment
involving sexual conditioning was conducted to increase the reproduction rate of these frogs (Gaalema

Gaalema performed the experiment Sexual Conditioning in the Dyeing Poison Dart Frog to increase
the rate of reproduction among these endangered frogs. 38 dart frogs including 19 males and 19
females were put into pairs and separated into three different groups (Gaalema 8). The three groups
included a control group that received no conditioning, an experimental group that received an active
control conditioning, and another experimental group that received experimental conditioning
(Gaalema 8). In the experimental condition, a green LED light would flash for approximately 90
second intervals followed by a 120 second interval of interaction between the opposite sex paired
frogs (Gaalema 9). The LED lights were used as a conditional stimulus and the presentation of the
opposite sex frog was used as an unconditional stimulus (Gaalema 9). The active control group was
not consistently exposed to the green LED light and the opposite sex frogs, as was the experimental
group (Gaalema 9). The frogs were being trained to see the unconditional stimulus and then know that
it is time to breed upon arrival of the opposite sex frog (Gaalema 9). After the training period, the
experimenter did testing trials to see if the frogs had been conditioned to the stimuli (Gaalema 9). The
training period consisted of both the experimental groups receiving the green LED light (conditional
stimulus) for 90 seconds followed by presentation of opposite sex frogs that remained for five days
instead of 120 seconds (Gaalema 9). The control group testing was identical to that of the
experimental groups but no flashing green LED lights were used in the control group (no conditional
stimulus) (Gaalema 9). Throughout the testing time period, the frogs tank was checked for the
production of eggs twice a day (Gaalema

Disadvantages Of Dna Profiling
There are few techniques in the history of forensic science that have been more thoroughly
scrutinized, tested and validated than forensic DNA profiling. Like latent fingerprints, our DNA is an
individuating factor that is unique to each human being. It therefore stands to reason that the
application of forensic DNA profiling is highly efficacious, along with other modes of forensic
techniques, in the successful investigation of crime and the prosecution of offenders.
However, DNA profiling and DNA analysis are not always adequately understood by the legal
fraternity. The perception that DNA evidence is infallible obscures many potential problems raised by
the methodology and interpretation of such evidence. It should, however, be made clear that the

have their hands upon a DNA database, including health care providers, insurance carriers, and maybe

recruits and prejudicially refuse employment to those they think have genetic defects or anomalies.
3. It can be used the wrong way to convict innocents. Since samples can be easily gathered from even
mere hair strands and saliva, it is possible for authorities to obtain DNA profiles of totally innocent
people who happen to be in the location prior the crime. Extraneous DNA is likely to dilute the crime
scene, particularly if it is obtained in a public place like a restroom or phone booth. DNA of innocents
can also be purposely planted to pass the blame. The reliability of results depends largely on the
laboratory, equipment and personnel involved in the process.

This report is based upon the information found in history books, the internet and other source

passed a law that stated Authorized the governor of Massachusetts to move the trials of royal officials
accused of committing capital offenses, while performing their natural duties, to another colony or
Great Britain, if he believed he would not find a fair trial in Massachusetts. (American History

responsible for taking in these so called criminals, at least in the eyes of the British, was the Kings or
Queens Bench. This act, when enforced by Thomas Gage, was extremely unfair and unjust. This
caused the colonist to take matters into there own hands after the trial of those solders at the Boston

The Great Gatsby Task Essay
The great Gatsby Task
Rationale
With my written task I would like to explore one of the parts of the book of which the narrator does
not talk about. Those who will be mentioned in this gap will be two of the main characters: Jordan
Baker and Jay Gatsby.
Being a fill the gap kind of writing piece the text type is gonna be a short story.
The reason why I chose to fill this gap is due the empty feeling who got triggered in me making me
feel incomplete and unfulfilled while reading the chapter.
Even though the writer does explain what happened while Jordan talked with Gatsby, I felt compelled
to write something about it anyway.
Intended for people like me, my writing aims to ordinary readers, such as students or anyone who

• What Are The Differences In Athletic Administration...
Cayman Belyea
Midterm
1. What are the differences in athletic administration between interscholastic and recreational sport
programs? What is the importance of having a mission statement in any sport program?
There are many differences between interscholastic and recreational sports programs. The first big
difference is the affect that school work and grades affect your participation. In a recreational sports
program, they are not looking at your grades to see if you are doing well enough to continue to play.
Whereas with interscholastic sports you must maintain a certain GPA, you are required to attended
class, along with other stipulations that they may have from a program. An athletic director is
responsible for making sure that students that are participating in the interscholastic events are
maintaining the requirements that they must meet. With the recreational sports program the athletic
director most likely hires someone to organize the events and that s about all the athletic does with
recreational sports. Another difference between interscholastic and recreational is that some people
who are participating in interscholastic sports are getting scholarships towards their education. Making
sure that the students are following those specific guidelines to keep their scholarship is something
that and athletic director must keep track of. With recreational sports an athletic director doesn t have
to worry at all about it. Overall an athletic director doesn t have

The Feminist Theory Of Fargo By The Coen Brothers
Scrolling through Netflix trying to pick a movie, viewers can generally get the idea of the movie based
on the title shown. The first thought that popped into my head after reading the title Fargo , was how
far would an individual strive to achieve and/or accomplish a goal or mission and how far would that
individual run if caught in a unforeseen circumstance. The 1996 film Fargo by the Coen Brothers,
explores a handful of themes such as, life, death and evil. The idea of the movie is that the main
character Jerry Lundegaard is a car sales man and is not very good at his job. He is shown no respect
from his wife and child and his boss, which is also his father in law. The film takes place in a small
town in Minnesota. This essay will explore the Feminist and Marxist theory, seen through this film
Fargo and its characters. The Feminist theory and Marxist theory are mainly seen through the
characters Marge, the police officer and Jerry the main character, which the entire movie revolves
around. In the Coen Brother s 1996 film Fargo , Jerry is a pathetic car salesman who is financially
unstable, plans to have his wife kidnapped so he can cash in on some money. A business deal about to
go sour Jerry, hires two goons for the kidnapping. Along with Jerry being very nervous and jumpy all

The Secret Life Of Jay Gatsby
The Secret Life of Jay Gatsby
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald is meticulously written to portray characters as soul sucking,
money thriving, moral lacking individuals who are thrashed by his language, and scrupulous
descriptions. Gatsby is depicted as a suave, cordial, and prosperous gentleman who is trying to raise
himself in the ranks of riches, and approval. At first glance, it is hard to tell if there is a clear hero, or
someone with qualities thereof; at least in the traditional sense. We have Gatsby as a tragic hero, or as
close as you could come to one. I will analyze his background, fatal flaw, and the tragic fall to defeat.
James Gatz, a man of youth at the time, came to the realization that he no longer wanted to be the
offspring of homesteaders, or poverty stricken. He was a common man of the time, one of no
recognition throughout society. That is, until Dan Cody plucked him out of his old self, which was a
skin he was already starting to shed, and rapidly sets him into his new persona: Jay Gatsby. Nick
shares the truth was that Jay Gatsby of West Egg, Long Island, sprang from his Platonic conception of
himself. (105) A young man from North Dakota was on his way to becoming the strong, well known
man, who set sail on the Tuolomee destined for greatness that day. Little did he know, every person
has their Achilles heel.
Gatsby has standards that set the bar to an almost unattainable height. He wants the money, eye candy,
popularity, and a status

Internet of Everything (IOE)
The Internet of Everything is the networked connection of people, process, data, and things. (Cisco)
IOE is superlative of IOT, while Internet of Things only refers to network of physical objects, IOE
aims to connect people, process, data and things. IOT focus on single technology transition, where as
IOE comprises many technology transitions.
People People connect using devices and social networks, with IOE new ways to connection is

The Journey Of Modern Theology
The Journey of Modern Theology: Chapter 3, 7, 11
I enjoyed reading about Charles Hodge and some of the things Olson recorded about Hodge really
spoke to me. One topic I enjoyed was Hodge s belief that God would not ask or command us to do
something that is morally wrong (p.225). Hodge also believed that God would not reveal anything that
would contradict a well authenticated truth or revelation (p. 225). I think Hodge is correct with his
assumption because God does not change His mind or ask us to do something immoral. I think many
people believe that God changed His mind and sent Jesus after His first attempt the Law of Moses had
failed. We know the Law was a part of the plan for Jesus entrance into this world. Hodge s statement

The Apostle Paul alludes to this when he says that All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for
teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training 2 Timothy 3:16 (NASB). Paul is telling us we can use
the scripture to form our teachings from. I do believe we can see God s existence in nature just as the
Apostle Paul says, Since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and
divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are
without excuse Roman 1:20 (NASB). I will not doubt the scripture that you can find evidence of God
in nature but what you find should not replace the truths found in the scripture.
Hodge believed that the Bible was a store house of facts for the theologian, but for some of the liberal
theologians of the enlightenment period they looked for answers outside of God s word. Many
churches have went this way as well and its a reminder to me and my ministry that I must keep myself
centered in the store house of facts, the Bible. As Christians I believe when problems arise we must
seek out answers to these problems through scripture study and prayer. I believe to often we try to
handle things with our own reasoning and hands when Jesus himself said, ...apart from Me you can do

Music, Language, And Characters In The Hobbit
Did you know that in The Hobbit many magical creatures like the goblins, elves, and dwarves sing
songs that reveal many things about them. In this novel music plays a role in the development of the
story and characters. The different creatures songs vary in tone, content, and structure that reveal
many things about the magical creatures. First, after the dwarves or the unexpected party arrived they
sang a song about an adventure that they would ask Bilbo to join and what it was about. The tone of
the song was to persuade and inspire Bilbo to agree to go. For example the dwarves sand, Far over the
Misty Mountains cold. This line was repeated multiple times in the song and caused Bilbo s Tookish
side to want to see the great mountains and go on an adventure. The poem s content consisted of
explaining the reasons to go on the adventure. They sung, To win our harps and gold from him. This
explains that they must return to their ancestors land to win back the riches that were taken by Smaug.
There also was a lot of rhyme in this song, Tolkien states the dwarves sing Far over the misty
mountains cold To dungeons deep and caverns old We must away ere break of day To seek the pale
and enchanted gold. This is a great example of rhyme the ending sounds of cold, old, and gold sound
alike. The tone, content, and structure signal features about the dwarves. This song showed that the

B1 and B4 with her repetitive back and forth movements, hand flapping, and excessive touching of the
shower rod. In the third video, the child is engaging in self stimulatory behaviors. These include:
rubbing hands together, patting mouth and ears, clapping, and high pitched vocalizations. He appears
to be lacking both verbal and nonverbal communication skills. The child meets several DSM 5 criteria
for ASD. For section A1 and A2, he does not verbally or nonverbally respond to social interactions
initiated by his mother. He does not exhibit eye contact or use gestures to communicate. It is evident
from the footage that the child meets criteria B1 in that he engages in repetitive motor movements
primarily with his hands. Throughout the video, the child is experiencing overstimulation to sensory
input, presumably due to the music or noises made by the car. This exemplifies

English Language Learners Paper
Introduction
This paper will describe my learning experiences working with English Language Learners (ELL)
who were in the first grade; the students age ranges were from 6 to 8 years old. The students attended
an elementary school that provided a curriculum specifically to fit their learning needs; the school
develops lessons from an English only model. Restrepo Gray (2007) suggested that English only
models allow ELL students to learn lessons only in English with teacher s aids or paraprofessionals
offering occasional support to them in their native language. During my learning experience, I will
note that the classroom teacher selected various materials to demonstrate the learning activities to
students. I will create lesson plans visible ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I will discuss the day s learning objectives and with the students. According to Seifert (2017), when
teachers have aims in mind, they are able to write more detailed lesson plans with variations to the
lesson. I will also discuss with students the next learning experience, which will be Science. The
activity will include the life cycle of flying bats. I will initially use a flip chart to write down words the
students sang during their brain break. I will write down bat, dip, pad, and tub. Then, I will ask
students to look at my mouth as I sound out each word. After that, students will be asked to raise their
hands and come to the flip chart to point out the word once I call them. I will make anecdotal notes of
students who participated or not; students who will not participate I will make observation if the
students failed to participate because of lack of understanding or disengaged. Further, I will prompt
and reassure to make model sounds to pronounce the words. I will orally model sounds of the words
with deep expression on the beginning and ending sounds. Teachers who work with ELL students
must receive in depth training in attempt to understand the significance of modeling tasks for students

The Vanished Settlements Summary
In chapter 5, The Vanished Settlements , John Viele reveals information about the 21 year span of life
on the Keys. The Civil War, living conditions, mosquitoes, fresh water, and isolation are some of the
main hardships that many of the settlers had to experience, but only a few could endure the setbacks
and live prosperous lives, as well as their families. Henry Geiger, Temple Pent, and Happy Jack were
the most prosperous men during the hard times of the Key West, and through others around them, their
stories can now live on. Viele tells us only a few families remained living in the Keys after the Indian
raids and the Second Seminole War. About 20 homes that were documented on the 1850 census, which
together, held about 40 settlers. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The author says he sleeps on a cot and had to use a stool to keep his legs form going through it. He
draws up a picture of Henry s home. The illustration shows that Henry was very luxurious. Henry
made his living through the hauling and selling of wood, tanning deer, and growing vegetables and
fruits, Viele says. Henry had managed the mosquitoes and lived a very successful life. Captain Temple
Pent, was self educated, a skilled seaman, and pilot. Viele informs us, Pent was at sea at an early age
of his life. At the age 16 he began to tend to a piece of land, better known today as Coconut Grove.
After Florida was bought by the US, he became a citizen and had a family. Because of his reputation
at sea, Commodore Porter offered Pent to serve as a squadron official. Pent moved his family to Key
Vacas when the Seminole became violent, and eventually fled to Key West. Records show that Pent
was appointed Inspector of Elections in 1836 and held leadership in a 100 population community. In
1860s, he was the Florida lighthouse keeper and lived there till his death in 1868. Viele shows that
Pent had a lot of political success.
Happy Jack had a plantation that grew various fruits and excellent sweet potatoes , as a 1856 surveyor
notes. Viele tells us that Happy Jack s story is very blurry and comes from two different sources, one a
writer whose article appeared in a Putnam s Monthly paper and the other is a friend. Happy Jack was
one of the members of a happy go lucky band.

Essay on the order of things (chocolate war)
The Order of Things nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Disturbing the universe is one of the main themes
of Robert Cormier s novel, The Chocolate War. Jerry Renault, the protagonist of the novel, goes
against Trinity, the all boys school, and The Vigils, a powerful school gang. He gets admired and then
bullied because of his defiance of authority. nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;In the beginning of the story,
we are introduced to Jerry Renault. As he is trying out for the school s football team, Archie and Obie,
two members of The Vigils, are writing assignments for the chosen boys at school. If the boy fails to
complete or do his assignment he gets punished by The Vigils. Archie sees Jerry get slaughtered by the
football team and still ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Now, what is your answer? Yes or no? (Cormier 82). Jerry does not take the chocolates. The school is
outraged, The Vigils are pleased, the students are baffled. nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; The ten days
are up for Jerry. He can finally be like everyone else and sell the chocolates. But as Brother Leon asks
the boys about their chocolates in homeroom, Jerry still does not take the chocolates. His only friend,
The Goober, tries to convince him to take the chocolates. I just can t. I m committed now... It s not The
Vigils, Goob. They re not in it anymore. It s me (Cormier 122). This is when Jerry begins to disturb
the universe. A meaningful and symbolic poster in Jerry s locker has a man walking alone and has the
inscription Do I dare disturb the universe? (Cormier 123). nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;
nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;At first, the students of Trinity admire Jerry for refusing to sell the chocolates. Boy,
you really let Leon that bastard have it. Beautiful... I never thought of just saying no. Like you did...
Boy, you re cool you know that? the kid said admiringly (Cormier 119 120). The only boys who are
now selling the chocolates are the eager beavers, the brown nosers... Leon s pets, his special boys. So
are the kids who still believe in school spirit (Cormier 139). Then, Obie notifies Archie that Renault is
not following the assignment and is hurting the

Roger Waters Research Paper
Roger Waters is, in my opinion, the greatest English songwriter and musical artist of all time. If you
don t know who Waters is, he is the main lyricist and singer of the popular psychedelic rock band Pink
Floyd. The meanings in the poem like lyrics impact, or impacted, the lives of many people including
myself. The flow and general feel of the music seems to relax the brain, at least from my experience.
The hidden stories to his music is incredible as well as the phrasing and use of his language, although
there are some bad things about his music. The moving stories hidden within the lyrics of his music,
and songs of his albums are a great part of the Waters experience. In the play like album The Wall
(1979) it slowly explains the life of an overprotected boy named Pink. It goes through his life of how
his father died in World War II, and his eventual wall casting him from society and normal life. The
album shows personal isolation, neglect, and use of drugs throughout the ninety minutes it takes to
listen to it. The most popular album made by Pink Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon (1973), which sold
over seventy million copies has a story, but not one within the album. The story to pay attention to is a
movie, The Wizard of Oz (1939). If you ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The words allow the songs to flow together with each other in a better way. They allow the listener to
better understand what is happening, without getting too confused. They address issues in this cruel
world allowing people to understand why things are the way they are in a way. The rhymes, similes,
and metaphors also help the music fit together better. Consistency is a reason why these aspects of
writing are important. With consistency, people stay, and listen. The music and mind of Waters is truly
genius. The countless great things about Roger Waters is great, but there are some bad things about his

became an unwilling preacher at the Old Second Church. He had already started to falter from his
Christian faith before his young wife, Ellen Tucker, died from tuberculosis in 1831 causing Emerson
to resign from his position as pastor.(Academy of American Poets) The year following his wife s death
he traveled to Europe where he met Thomas Carlyle, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, and William
Wordsworth, famous literary figures that inspired who he would become.(A E Networks Television)
After his return from Europe he settled in Concord, Massachusetts in 1834 and started writing Nature
which he published anonymously two years later in 1836. He married his second wife, Lydia Jackson,
in 1835. Emerson and his wife had four children, two sons and two daughters. (Encyclopædia

Scarlet Fever
Scarlet Fever
By: Rachael Zabkar In Frankentstein, a gothic novel written my Mary Shelley, scarlet fever was a
huge part in the main plot line. Scarlet fever was a common disease during the time Mary Shelley
wrote Frankenstein. Scarlet fever was particularly common in children and was fatal and deadly. It
was a disease that affected many children and hat many sympotms, causes and stages (Bunch 54). In
the modern world we live in with modern medicine it s not as common, however, back then if you
were to get this disease, you were deemed tainted and couldn t be touched due to the fact that it was
extremely contagious and no one wanted to be exposed to the disease. In Frankenstein, the scarlet

antitoxin for scarlet fever and definitively established that viruses cause the common cold. Also, in
Frankenstein, Alphonse is the name of Victor s father. (Tulalit)
Even though scarlet fever was a big scare for people back then, especially children, and some adults, it
has become a common disease that is easilty treatable. If not treated withtin a timely manner however,
scarlet fever will turn into rheumatic fever which starts the infection of the heart. If that is left
untreated, the disease then becomes giomerulanephritis which is the infection of the kidneys. Today,
scarlet fever is treated with antibiotics that kill the bacteria and the rash should go away in 3 4 days.
When Mary Shelley wrote Frankenstein scarlet fever was definitely something to be afraid of and

  • 2. The Sorrowful Woman Short Story Everyone experiences sorrow in their lives, it is not an enjoyable feeling, but a person may learn life lessons from dealing with it. Two women experience the dreadful feeling of sorrow in two different stories. The first woman s name is Faye, from A Secret Sorrow by Karen van der Zee. The second woman is from The Sorrowful Woman by Gail Godwin. In both stories sorrow plays a big role in the plots, but the two stories are extremely different. The story, written by van der Zee is more enjoyable than Godwin s because of the way the characters behave, the conflict, and fairy tale qualities. The characters in both stories must deal with family dilemmas, but the way the characters deal with them are different. Faye and Kai are in a serious relationship together until Faye feels she must leave him. She knows she is barren and cannot have the children she desires. Faye feels she is terrible for Kai because she cannot give him children. She loves her husband so much, she is willing to leave him so he can have a real family. However, her husband refuses to leave and even demands, You re coming with me, now. And I m not letting you out of my sight until we re safely married (van der Zee 35). Kai is extremely demanding, but lets his wife know he will never abandon her because she cannot bear children. His love for her is admirable and a model for all couples. All Faye desires is a loving family with her husband Kai. One woman who feels completely different than Faye is the mother ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. A Summary On The Sunset Manicure Kleancolor Metallics sunset manicure. This is the sister manicure to my Kleancolor purple/ blue peacock. These metallic polishes, simply named Metallic Orange and Metallic Yellow , apply as smoothly and easily as the blue and purple. The consistency was the same, thick, but not too thick. These polishes are 2 coaters, but they go on reasonably opaque with the first coat. Meaning if you re short on time, you could get away with a few thick swipes. Here I used the same gradient technique, applying one coat of the yellow polish and gradually blending yellow to orange. I sponged on a bit of Sally Hansen s Copper Penny to the tips to give the orange polish a bit of sparkle. You know I love to sparkle! Gradient tutorial: For this tutorial I used colors that obviously don t go together so that you can see how to make a seamless blend. [use purple and green, one thick and dark, the other thinner and light.] First step: After you apply your base coat, your first color coat should ordinarily be the lightest of the polishes you ve chosen for your gradient. I say usually because there are plenty of times when you might want to use a darker base color and sponge a lighter color over it. Since this is a basic tutorial, however, I ll keep it simple. [pic of nails with base color] While you re waiting for that coat of color to dry, I suggest applying a latex type coating or a homemade glue mix to the skin around your nails. You could use tape also. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Noh Theater Imagine two mimes wearing masks and colorful robes, the image would not be too terribly far off from a common Noh play. Originating in Japan during the fourteenth century, the Noh Theatre uses few actors wearing colorful clothing and depictive masks to perform beautiful plays pertaining to the afterlife. Due to the dark times it came from and the sad way it was performed, Noh Theatre is one of the most dramatic of its time. O Donnell states the origins of Noh start in the Muromachi period of Japan, which began in 1338 when Takauji overthrew Go Daigo as shogun, the ruler of Japan. This period lasted from 1338 1573 and is known for its military conflicts and intrigue. During the first 50 years of this period the north and south were segregated, until the south agreed under the rule of a single shogun. In those 50 years multiple earthquakes struck Japan, draught and famine, and two new diseases swept the nation killing thousands. In 1370 Yoshimitsu had taken the title of shogun, introducing trade with China and forming new social classes. The prosperity did not last long as the power struggle for shogun began the Onin War in 1467. After its resolution smaller battles continued between those who wanted power and money, as many shoguns spent time for their own good instead of governing their people (O Donnell). Using two types of plays, sarugaku, which was mimicry, and kagura, religious theatre; it is from these dark times that Kannami and his son Zeami created Noh theatre ... If you don t stick up stick together, make like brothers, it isn t a gang anymore, (Hinton 26). This is what the greasers do for each other: they stick up for one another and build a supportive community. In the story, The Outsiders, by SE Hinton, the book is about Ponyboy and his gang taking care of each other because there gang is that they fight against the Socs. The characters and actions of this story create a supportive community Kindness and Loyalty. To begin with, characters and actions in The Outsiders prove the kindness creates a supportive community. For example, the character Cherry proves when she thanks Ponyboy for stopping Dallas s dirty talk so he is showing kindness. In the second chapter of the story, Cherry said, you didn t join Dallas s dirty talk, and you made him leave us alone, (Hinton 26). What Cherry is saying is that Ponyboy is the kindness, and nicest qualities that rare to her. By telling Ponyboy thanks, Cherry means that having kindness by reading because Cherry and him look at the same sunset. If Cherry tells Ponyboy thanks it s for what he did was kind then kindness characters matter to a supportive community because they take peoples hate away a bit. Furthermore, an important action in the story that proves kindness is when Ponyboy dropped the pop bottle because he wouldn t hurt anyone. • 7. The Vogue Of The Lady As Solomon s work explain, the vogue of the lady, as promoted in English advice literature, had a large impact on American parents intent on training girls to be polished but congenial, obedient as daughters and future wives among the community. While this study highlights data on Mary Lyon on a deeper context, their findings also discuses how the mere presence of economic necessity and religious zeal in the society significantly affected women s academic development. In terms of the author s evaluation, In the Company of Educated Women outlines a strong narrative on these dimensions and its relations to women s struggles in access to academia. The discouraging effects started with English literature. Solomon concluded the early half of 1700s beliefs with a novel from Samuel Richardson which highlighted two characters: first Pamela, who preserved her virginity which own her marriage into the gentry, and secondly, Clarissa, who was a proud heroine disobeying her parents and ending up dead for her mistake. These types of studies implored through the society as evidence to use education only to a certain extent to sway women s focus towards the marital training. Of lesser impact, the author also discusses another figure, Eliza Lucas Pinckney who was accomplished to study freely and helped her father grow her business. She was reminded of her place as a female, Solomon indicates. Later she was engaged in a speech in which she accepted her husband superiority and recognized ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Effects of Burning Carbon Dioxide Essay The Effects of Burning Carbon Dioxide The main waste product of fuel we burn is carbon dioxide, which is thought to have been the main factor in the gradual rise of global temperatures of the last hundred years. The rise is called Global Warming . The mechanism used to explain the rise in temperature is the greenhouse effect. Infrared radiation is trapped by atmospheric gases. Sunlight easily passes these gases on it way into the earth s atmosphere but on its way out the gases reflect the radiation back towards earth. Therefore as these gases increases the amount of radiation kept in the atmosphere is increased. Caron dioxide is one of the main green houses gases. Carbon dioxide is a waste product ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He suggests that rather than cutting carbon dioxide emissions, it would be more cost effective to reduce the amount of sunlight entering the atmosphere by scattering the sun s rays. Fine metallic nets deployed in the stratosphere should do the trick according to Mr. Teller. This would help slow or even stop global warming. Carbon Monoxide: Carbon monoxide forms during incomplete combustion of hydrocarbons. It is extremely hazardous as things such as gas central heating boilers which are badly maintained can leak the gas causing carbon monoxide poisoning which would result in death. Carbon monoxide reacts irreversibly with haemoglobin. In red blood cells haemoglobin normally reacts with oxygen to form oxyhaemoglobin, which is then transported from our lungs to all our body cells. When carbon monoxide is breathed in it combines with haemoglobin to form carboxyhaemoglobin where the oxygen is not released from the haemoglobin therefore causing a lack of oxygen which can result in death. The solutions to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning are to give the odorless gas a distinct smell so that people can smell when there are gas leaks in their appliances. Another solution is to install carbon monoxide detectors which act in the same way as fire alarms and give off a signal when they detect carbon monoxide. There are other precautions which can be taken such as maintaining your ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He knows not where either road might lead. In order to continue on his journey, he can pick only one road. He scrutinizes both roads for the possibilities of where they may take him in his travels. Frost s traveler realizes that regret is inevitable. Regardless of his choice, he knows that he will miss the experiences he might have encountered on the road not taken. Images in the poem reflect the difficulties of the choice the traveler faces. The difficulty is shown in the passage long I stood (3) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He predicts that he will always remember this moment of choice and will be telling it with a sigh (16) when he is old. His choice will have made all the difference (20) and affected his whole journey. Frost creates a tone of inevitability that no matter what the choice, there will always be regret. Frost presents the traveler s choice of paths as a metaphor for the difficult decisions a person must make in life. The divergent paths are the choices to be made at various points along the way. Regardless of how he tries, the traveler cannot see beyond where the path is bent in the undergrowth (5). Likewise, nobody can predict what effect one choice will have on his life. The traveler sees the two paths as very similar or just as fair (6). As much as the traveler would like to return to the diverging roads, he realizes that he will not get another chance to travel the other path. With maturity comes a resignation that a choice has affected a person s life and there is no going back. He also tries to make the best of his decision by saying that it has made all the difference. (20). In The Road Not Taken , images of the bright woods and wide open opportunity to choose are contrasted with the indecision and regret of only being able to travel one path. Word choice and a slight sorrowful tone reinforce the theme of regret. Frost presents divergent roads as a metaphor for the choices a person must make in life. Propaganda works on the general public from the standpoint of an idea and makes them ripe for the victory of this idea, (United States Holocaust Memorial Museum 1) written by Adolf Hitler in his book Mein Kampf published in 1925. Propaganda is defined as the spreading of ideas, information or rumors for the purpose of helping or hurting an institution (Propaganda in Nazi Germany 1). All other races were seen as a threat to the end product of his master plan(The Holocaust Explained). This led to deportation, being forced to live in ghettos, and eventually the killing of races seen as degenerates to the Nazi party. Propaganda was used to create stereotypes and bad images of Jews and other unworthy races, while creating a fear, distrust and eventually a hatred of these supposed enemies. Anti Semitic and other racist propaganda was used to justify the status of pariah being given to Jews and others deemed as undesirables (The Chief). This form of manipulation also helped to portray Germany as the defender of the west after the German invasion of the Soviet Union. There are so many are so many questions about gladiators that go unanswered, but now, thanks to archaeologists, we are able to answer those questions. Evidence shows that being a gladiators had both advantages and disadvantages. A gladiator is an armed fighter who entertained audiences in the Roman Empire by fighting against other gladiators, wild animals, and criminals. In late 1st century, Nicolaus of Damascus believed they were Etruscans. A generation later, the 1st gladiatorial ceremonies were held in 310 BC. It was held by the Campanians in celebration of their over the Samnites. The Romans were greatly influenced by their predecessors the Etruscans. For example, the Etruscans always sacrificed an animal before their ceremonies, so the Romans started doing the same. Gladiators were usually slaves or criminals, but could also be free men. Professionals gladiators were usually free men, but they were all treated as slaves. Free men still wore shackles and had to do whatever they were told. Although they were treated as slaves, free men would often be the most popular amongst the crowd. Criminals and slaves would be set free if they survived 3 5 years as a gladiator. When looked at, the main character Joe Gillis, portrayed by William Holden, can be seen as an anti hero. Joe shows his anti heroic behavior in many ways. For example, he is dishonest, he uses the people around him, and he also is only focused on elevating himself. One of the many examples of the dishonesty of Joe. One of the most notable examples of his is when he meets Norma Desmond, portrayed by Gloria Swanson. He starts out being noble by telling her that she should rethink let him look over the script, however, he quickly becomes crooked. He tells her falsehoods to try and extort money out of her. This transforms into him taking advantage of the situation. He starts by taking advantage of Norma as the movie continues. What is the importance of having a mission statement in any sport program? There are many differences between interscholastic and recreational sports programs. The first big difference is the affect that school work and grades affect your participation. In a recreational sports program, they are not looking at your grades to see if you are doing well enough to continue to play. Whereas with interscholastic sports you must maintain a certain GPA, you are required to attended class, along with other stipulations that they may have from a program. An athletic director is responsible for making sure that students that are participating in the interscholastic events are maintaining the requirements that they must meet. With the recreational sports program the athletic director most likely hires someone to organize the events and that s about all the athletic does with recreational sports. Another difference between interscholastic and recreational is that some people who are participating in interscholastic sports are getting scholarships towards their education. Making sure that the students are following those specific guidelines to keep their scholarship is something that and athletic director must keep track of. A definition of schizophrenia is a chronic brain disorder with symptoms that may include delusions hallucinations, trouble with thinking and concentration, and a lack of motivation.
