2. WHERE ROCK ORIGINATED
The Rock genre was influenced by blues, jazz and classical but
enhanced by electric guitars and faster drum beats. Early rock
stems from rock and roll in the late 1940s but become most
popular in the 1960s when the Beatles rose to fame. Rock
continued to become increasingly popular and so did many other
bands including Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin
each with there own style of music. In the 1970s heavier Rock
also became more popular and bands like ACDC stole the stage.

LINKIN PARK’S MUSIC
Alternative Rock is different from ‘mainstream’ rock music. It can
be different in any way. If the style catches on and others copy
the style then this may become a new sub-genre. Bands in this
category may also produce records in different genres,
experiment and/or combine elements of different sub-genres
Features of Linkin Park’s music: they don’t like to swear; use rap;
strong catchy chorus; increasingly like to vary their albums and
experiment; lyrics often have a message, can be aggressive,
observe relationships and interactions. Some heavy influences.

6. STYLE, CLOTHES AND IMAGERY
The rock genre has a wide variety of different styles depending
on the band. The majority of modern rock artists wear casual
clothes however some others (often heavier bands) wear full
black and sometimes makeup.
