• It didn’t have that much publicity to begin
with.
• The main colour scheme is Red, Black and

• Originated as ‘Rock and Roll’ music in 1950’s in
America.
• Usually centered around the electric
guitar, and also around the drum.
• The band members may also have long dark
hair and dark or just black coloured clothing
on.

6. Indie Rock
• Closely associated with Alternative Rock (Indie
rock originates more for the UK, whereas
Alternative Rock comes more from America).
• Started in the 1980’s.
• Members would often wear leather jackets
and skinny jeans.
• Magazines that include Indie Rock include Q,
NME and Spin.

8. Metal
• The general colour scheme of the Metal genre
are the colours Red, Black and White.
• Objects that are associated with metal are
skulls, devils and guitars.
• They also make the hand sign called ‘Sign of
the horns’.
• Band members will have tattoo’s, piercings
and seem to either have long hair, or they’re
bald.
