GUIDANCE IN THE SELECTION OF INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
 Instructors must be:
 thoroughly familiar with the content of all media used in instruction.
 select only instructional media that are consistent with student capabilities and learning
styles.
 Instructional media should be:
 chosen objectively rather on the basis of the teachers’ personal preference or bias.
 chosen on the basis of their contributions to the learning outcomes.
 produced locally by instructor usually make significant contributions to learning.
 follow learning activities.
 appropriate to the teaching formats being used.

Materials and technology:
 Technology offers the possibility of alternative materials and
classroom interaction.
 After audio and video cassettes, the next major technological
change was the use of computers and the Internet.
 The Internet is bringing further changes as courses can now be
downloaded from all over the world.

• A free assessment-centered tool that allows teachers and students to create interactive online
videos by embedding either open-ended or multiple-choice questions, audio notes, audio tracks, or
or comments on a video.
EdPuzzle
• A free digital formative assessment tool that allows teachers to create lessons and assignments
that students work through on their devices at their own pace.
Classkick
• A virtual bulletin board in which collaborators can simultaneously create and
organize posts of any content type, whether it be text, documents, images,
videos, links, etc.
Padlet
• An online learning management system (LMS) that allows educators to
organize curriculum, create lesson plans, and provide student assessment.
Schoology
• Takes information and converts it into flashcards, quizzes, and games, so that
users can study the same information in a variety of forms.
Quizlet
• Can be used to create a variety of images, including event flyers, resumes,
cards, certificates, and infographics.
Canva
• A free tool that allows you to create, collect and organize videos around
specific topics or interests.
YouTube
• The first Islamic Internet TV for children to spend time learning about Islam,
enjoy interactive games, download & print educational resources.
