2. Who Will Publish
Trip Tunz?
The genre I have covered in my magazine, is Rap/Hip-hop, the
publishing company I have chosen, who will publish my magazine
publish magazines from similar a genre. They are Harris Publication
Inc. based in New York. They are an American consumer magazine
publisher, who publish existing magazines like XXL, Guns & weapon
for Law Enforcement and men's workout magazines and many more.
The reason, I chose the publishing company was that they had vast
amounts of experience with the Rap/Hip-Hop music industry due to
them publishing XXL magazine, XXL magazine is a widely known
magazine mainly in America, but also known in the UK. Harris
Publications Inc. I am certain that them publishing Trip Tunz, would be
ideal, because they have the experience and knowledge to deal with
such type of genre. As they have been working with XXL for a number
of years, they have the gist of how a magazine of that type of genre
works. My magazine was inspired by XXL mainly, due to the fact they
were the same genre and they were widely known throughout the
music magazine industry.
3. Different Ads For Different
Magazines
Many magazines have lots of various pages in one issue, of
advertisement. Different music magazine genres have
different, advertisements, it depends on what they cover. If we you flick
through any music genre magazine, you might come across a page which
has a advert for some sort of sound system gadget, like headphones or
speaker for example the magazine BASS have ads which are advertising
Bass guitars and Bass Amplifiers. Adverts are chosen carefully in each
magazine so that they can appeal to a certain audience. As I flicked
through the NME magazine, I saw that they were advertising future gigs
and festivals, magazines adverts don’t just cover products for sale, they
attract customers to future events. The magazine Clash, which is covers
alternative, have adverts on clothing. Many clothing brands, are featured
in music magazines in Clash, brands like Ben Sherman, Firetrap were
advertised. Overall, each music magazine you flick through, the type of
advertisement you see vary due to the genre.
4. Trip Tunz Advertisement
All magazines have advertisement on various
pages, depending on there genre. As my genre is
Rap/Hip-Hop my advertisement range will vary to
different types of ads. Looking at one rap and hip hop
magazines, I identified that these types of genre have
ads from
clothing, headphones, watches, alcohol, cars, footwear,
musical instruments, future movie releases, car
alloys, car tires and hair products. The ads listed are
from XXL magazine, all of the ads were covered in one
issue, so from this we can see what extend
advertisement is influenced in just one issue.
For my magazine, I have chosen adverts like the ones listed above which I would include in Trip
Tunz. Watch advertisement is one that I would choose, because as I have seen many rap/hip
hop magazines have existing ads which cover watches, because it will appeal to my target
audience who are 16-25 year old. Another ad I would choose which would be in my magazine
would be a Car alloy ad, this is because my age group are young, as we see this age
group, normally at this age group many young drivers, like to modify there car, so I reckon this
ad would link in perfectly with the age group, they would find this appealing.
