2. The 2 institutions I would choose to distribute my magazine would be IPC
Media or Bauer Media Group, I would choose these because they both have
other music magazines so they would know how to advertise the magazine
and get the correct publicity. They both also have a gap in the market for a
woman target audience and dance magazines so it would be good for them to
a have a wider range of genres.
CHOICES
3. Their 2 music magazines are Uncut and NME, therefore I think that they have
a gap in their portfolio for a multi gender audience of a different genre than
the rock kind of genre for a male audience they have.
They are both released every week whereas my magazine is released every
fortnight which may put IPC off as the majority of their magazines are
released weekly or monthly.
I think this would be a good choice to earn profit as they earn around £350
million a year.
IPC MEDIA
4. Bauer is a multinational media company which operates in 16 different
countries.
The only music magazines they publish are MOJO and Q. I feel they have a
gap in the market for a dance magazine and with their target audiences of
other magazines such as Empire which would attract some of the same
audiences.
I think this would be a good choice as they would know how to attract my
audience and earn a good profit.
BAUER MEDIA GROUP
5. Overall I think I would choose IPC media for my magazine.
I would choose them because I think their company would work for my
magazine.
I also feel that they have a gap in their market for a multi-gender magazine.
The profit of the magazine would be good through this company and they
have a good record of past magazines doing well.
IPC would be the publisher for my magazine.
