GOAL OBJECTIVE
1 Assist students in seeking out resources for learning and living that enhance their
overall well-being and to help them think critically while engaging in independent
thought and action
A. Collaborate with other offices and departments to provide educational intervention
programs for students to learn critical skills that impact their quality of life
Properly train and set expectations for RD’s and RA’s in the student conduct process
and the CoCo system
Provide a more user-friendly and functional webpage
Increase collaboration with other offices such as Athletics, Counseling and Health
Services, Diversity and Multicultural Affairs, and Student Involvement and Activities for
reinforced programming (i.e. follow up series to major speaking engagements, etc.)
Promote this office on campus and build relationships
Learn skills necessary to become a “super user” of CoCo in order to train others
Create atmosphere of information sharing among RD’s and help with sanctioning as
needed
Explore bystander intervention programming
Make as many forms and policies electronically available and easily accessible as much
as possible
B. Educate students about the Student Conduct Code and respond to reports of violation
under this code through the student conduct process while ensuring a fair process for all
parties involved
Implement a satisfaction of fairness survey for each student after each hearing
(anonymous?)
Provide a more user-friendly and functional webpage
Make as many forms and policies electronically available and easily accessible as much
as possible
C. Assist with intervention initiatives such as formal student mediation and restorative
justice programs
Explore restorative justice programs already in existence

2 Help students in developing and exhibiting transferable lifelong career skills while
teaching them to work constructively with others
2. A. Cultivate opportunities for students interested in pursuing a human services profession
through the Student Conduct and Mediation (SCaM) board
Build up the diversity and membership on the SCaM board to better reflect the current
student population
Mediation training for SCaM board members – allow members opportunity to facilitate
peer mediation
Explore bystander intervention programming
B. Equip students with conflict resolution competency, train them how to mediate
effectively and connect them with opportunities to gain experience using the skills
Increase collaboration with other offices such as Athletics, Counseling and Health
Services, Diversity and Multicultural Affairs, and Student Involvement and Activities for
reinforced programming (i.e. follow up series to major speaking engagements, etc.)

Create a Student of Concern brochure to create awareness of the resources of the
office
Create an electronic venue to members of the SSU community to reach out to us
regarding any students of concern
