E6 Radio Review
Aftercompletingmycommercial radioshow Irealisedthatthere were areaswhere Ifelt were really
goodand professional,butotherpartsI feltwasroomfor improvement.Whenconsidering what my
original intentions were I am now going to review my show as a complete package against what I
was asked to produce.
My targetaudience formycommercial radio is16-19 year oldmale and females. I think the content
that was featured in my radio show is of interest to my chosen target audience as the music and
topics of conversation are something they like. The purpose was to entertain students when
studyingorsocializingwhilstalsoinformingthemwithnewsandweatherupdates.The musicgenre I
playedwhichIbelievedmytargetaudience wouldenjoywaspop,rock,indie Rock,R’n’B,house,etc.
For 10 minutes of the hour I spoke about local news such as funny stories that was in the local
newspaperand also celebrity gossip, however I would change these topics of conversation if I had
more time to plan. When mixing the music I tried not to have any dead air, I did this by fading one
track intoanotherusing the soundboard and the faders. Something I could improve on is checking
the volume before I start recording.
WhenI dida questionnaire tofindoutwhatpeople thoughtof myradioshow it wasevidentthatthe
target audience was 16-19 year olds and that 70% enjoyed my show. Also, from my results I found
that they liked a mixture of music genres and not a specific one, however they did not enjoy the
topicsof conversationonly30%foundwhatwassaiduseful.Although,92% would listen to my radio
show again.
