Also, a survey was done in 1991 and it showed that fourty
percent of countries that have populations exceeding 100,000 people face major
budgetary problems. All of them have been forced to cut resources required for
equal justice to prevail. Even Supreme Court justices say "There probably has
never been a wider gulf between the need for legal services and the provision of

those services. There is a great deal to be concerned about, or even ashamed of,"
stated Justice O'Connor. Others with in adequate counsels have already been

for trial, his attorney assumed that the case would be thrown out beforehand. But

defense attorney was appointed to him by the judge. His attorney put on no defense.
Despite the enormous amount of evidence that would prove him innocent, this

constantly dreamed of college but as an African American this dream was nearly impossible. His scrupulous working habits from the mines set him
out for college at the Hampton Institute. He graduated in 1876 and became a teacher at a rural school. After 2 years of teaching, he went back to the
Hampton Institute and was a "professor" here for 2 more years. His next challenge would be at a new all black college, Tuskegee Institute where he
would become president. Under Washington's leadership (1881–1915), Tuskegee Institute became an important force in black education. Washington
won a Harvard honorary degree in 1891.
Washington was powerful and influential in both the black and white communities. He was a confidential advisor to President Roosevelt and for years,

University in Political Sciences with honors. Rage often draws from
Tom's political knowledge for their songs and messages (Taneja, Band

As of 2016, 43% of executed defendants are black, and 33% were white ("Race and Death). Currently, 42.34% currently on death row are white, and
forty–two percent of them are black ("Death and Race"). Although fifty percent of murder victims are white, eighty percent of death row cases have

Then what do they eat? Well, they eat normal foods, but obviously not the best quality. The inmates eat in a cafeteria

Taking a Look at the MOVE Organization
After having gathered a few different possible topics, I have narrowed it down to a paper about criminal justice in the city of Philadelphia. More
specifically, I decided to discuss the MOVE Organization. After my collection of research, I found that the MOVE was more than a neighborhood
being burnt to the ground. Mainly that the people apart of the police department intended to systematically take down the members of the MOVE
Organization and anyone who supported them. I want to make the case that the police already decided the fate of those people, and that the members of
the MOVE Organization were just misunderstood.

and preached against technology." MOVE followed what was known as "The Guidelines", a document based on the views of John Africa. Christina

"If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor." Desmond Tutu. In class the idea of justice was the
overarching idea. We looked at different types of justice and how the idea of justice has evolved overtime. Justice and law are two separate entities
because the law is not always applied equally. We looked at howjustice was perceived in Plato's time and how he himself saw justice. I look towards
the platform of Jill Stein the Green Party and their pursuit for justice. Justice overtime has not been applied quality and an idea that had to evolve. In
the "People Speak" by Howard Zinn, he shows examples of the injustices down by the American Government and show the struggles of marginalized
in society. Black codes to drug laws were systematic forms of injustices that keep African–Americans down and limited their social mobility.

Capital Punishment Should Be Abolished Essay
Capital punishment has been being practiced since about 1608, when William the Conqueror was in command. In the past, capital punishment was
only used when a person had murdered another person. Today, capital punishment is one of the most controversial topics in the nation. People argue
that it should be abolished because it is an inhumane way to die, although, it does not apply to everyone it 's extremely expensive to execute a person.
If we abolish the death penalty psychologist wouldn 't have the opportunity to discover why they commit these crimes. On the other hand, people
argue that it should still be practiced because it gives families closure when someone is murdered and they want to see the killer die so they know
they wouldn 't be able to hurt anyone else. Capital punishment has many pros and cons to the practice, but in the end the cons outweigh the pros.
The usage of the death penalty should be stopped immediately for many reasons. One reason is that the death penalty costs taxpayers a tremendous
amount of money. "The Legislative Auditor estimated the cost of amurder trial in which the death penalty was sought cost $1.03 to $1.3 million,
whereas cases without the death penalty cost $775,000." (Lochhead, 1) In Nevada some court cases that have death penalty as a possible solution cost
approximately $250,000 taxpayer dollars more than just regular cases without the death penalty as a solution. "Florida spent an average of $3.2 million
per execution." (Herald, 1)

Alice Malsenior Walker was born on February 9, 1944, in the town of Ward Chapel in Eatonton, Georgia. She was the youngest of eight children and

The Murder Of A Prison Guard
Davis became involved with freeing three black inmates of Soledad Prison in California. The three black inmates were George Jackson, John
Clutchette, and Fleeta Drumgo. People also know these inmates as the Soledad Brothers. The three men had been charged for the murder of a jail
guard. The guard had been shoved over a prison railing when he stumbled into a rebellion among African American prisoners began by the deaths of
three black prisoners by another prison guard. Although, it has been claimed that there was no evidence that Jackson, Clutchette, and Drumgo had
killed the guard. They were charged with his murder. As it went on, Davis began corresponding with Jackson and soon developed a personal
relationship with him. Davis and Jackson's little brother, Jonathon traveled to all the hearings held at the court that had to do with the Soledad Brothers
' case. There were other supporters that supported the Soledad Brothers.
On August 7, 1970, Jonathon wanted his brother to be freed. To make that happen, he used a gun that was registered to Davis and had a shoot–out at
the Marin County Courthouse. At least four were killed during the incident, including Jonathon and judge of the Superior Court Harold Haley. Soon
after the incident, Davis was charged with kidnapping, conspiracy, and murder, in the state of California that can get you the death penalty. However,
after hearing what will happen to her, she left the state traveling in disguise away from Los Angeles and
