2. How Does your media product represent particular social groups? From looking at my front cover, the person on the front is fiction. However, the character I have given him is to replicate Brandon Flowers on my style model. Because of this, his disposition can be displayed in the poses he is in. The way he stands shows that he is an iconic figure for my target audience and the dress sense is common throughout the youth of today. This alone will only attract the type of people I’m aiming my magazine to. The cover I have designed can appeal to the audience because not only of the image but the context involved within the whole feature. This then brings the teenage age group to purchase it and enjoy it.
3. The main image on the front contains nothing but the main article and a few feature images to entice the audience to buy it. However, the mise -en-scene throughout the whole mag is nothing to complex for the audience to digest just simple and basic interviews and information on bands and other music accessories. This can then replicate the target audience and particular social groups because of the type of information on the certain types of bands. As you wouldn’t get metal heads reading about The Twang. Alongside this, the colour scheme throughout the feature revolves around each other for example, the colours work with each other and not contrasting in such a way that it would put a negative impact on the aesthetics. 4. I’ve represented my main genre throughout various articles and information leaks that only certain people within one genre will appreciate. Because of this, many people who are interested in other genres or likes music and not the magazines, will not be offended when looking at the content of the magazine. The representation throughout the magazine is aimed at a specific type of audience, agreed. However, the genre of music is a flexible type because many artists may do a song which could be classed as indie; however, their main genre may be rock. Because of the cross over, it may attract a more advance and varied audience. How Does your media product represent particular social groups?
