Q6; What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product? Think about all the areas of technology used:
1.
2. The use of Email.
Throughout filming our production, email proved useful as it was a good way to keep
in contact with our actors for when they are available to shoot and to let them know
if anything has changed for example,
The use of email also showed us how imported it is to keep on top of things as well.
We were also able to use more convergent technology such as our computers, this
meant that we could send out emails, upload pictures and use final cut pro to alter
any shots we wanted to alter.
3. Canon 600D
The camera that we used was the canon 600D.
Discovering a tutorial on YouTube we found that the
camera has a variety of settings such as the tungsten
setting which works more efficiently in different
locations , mostly indoors. Through looking at
tutorials and using this camera we became more
confident with lighting and changing other things
with the camera like the lens.
4. Sigma Lens.
We decided the sigma lens would be a great one to use as it
would allow us to focus in and out to a greater extent without
blurring. This lens is more noticeable in our scene where the
killer is coming down the stairs and the camera focuses on the
body lying on the bottom. The first lens that we tried could
not do this without needing to zoom in first. This was the
recommended lens from our teacher once we described our
desired look on the shot.
5. Final Cut Pro
This was the program that we used to edit and piece
together our final production. By using this program
we was able to edit and put in such things as sounds
and certain shots that fit into our timeline. Because
we used it on a computer we was able to access the
internet and contact each other as well as access any
tutorials if we got stuck on anything. The use of the
internet also allowed us to download extra SFX effects
as the ones on Final Cut Pro didn't fit to what we was
trying to do with our production.
6. The use of Facebook
Facebook was a way that our group and focus group
kept in contact when we could not access things like
the school emails. This was so we could keep each
other updated about developments about the
production especially is someone had been absent or
missed something or some extra prep work is
needed, or even if more decisions need to be
decided.
7. The use of YouTube
YouTube proved most useful for looking at tutorials
and opening sequences in the planning stages of our
production. We were also able to sample sounds
when it came to editing our production. When
looking for our tutorials our group looked at separate
areas to bring more knowledge back to the group
together and it would help everyone feel that they
are playing an equal part in contribution.
8. The use of mobile phones.
These are the most convergent piece of
technology to use. This is because everyone
having them on them almost all the time,
through the use of these we were able to take
pictures, sample sounds and send emails if
plans for the production had changed. Without
the use of mobile phones it would have been a
lot harder to take pictures in order to put our
story board together and keep up with our
excellent time keeping skills.
