Confucianism against bullying
1.
2. Bullying comes in many forms and can
include any of the following
Physical Violence
Exclusion
Verbal Harassment
Cyber Bullying
3. Confucius was a Chinese philosopher during the 6th and
7th century BC
He believed with the right advice he could bring out a
peaceful world. His teachings brought many loyal
followers up to today.
Main aspects of the Religion included :
The respect of Elders by children, and Wives by
husbands.
Honoring other cultural customs.
Accepting everyone’s role in a community.
Confucius also espoused the principle “Do not do to others what
you do not want done to yourself”, an early version of the Golden
Rule
4. Bullying shouldn’t happen in the first place and you should always
respect others. If you have a problem with someone, talk it out
with them and resolve it with words. Taking out your anger or
problems in a physical manner just hides them and they can
creep up on you later.
Confucius say; “Requite injury with uprightness, and requite
kindness with kindness”
In other words, reacting to bullies with violence makes you no
different from them. If you show kindness to bullies, they’ll
misinterpret you and think you’re afraid. But if you’re resilient and
persevering, bullies will get tired of you.
5. Confucius wished to bring out a
peaceful world rid of hatred. He
wanted all the people in the world
to be respectful of each other. You
can easily see how much he would
discourage bullying, and his
followers alike.
