I saw you pictured on a piece of silk andsome-one said (to me). „This is your wife.‟ WhenI uncovered the picture, I saw that it was yours. What was Sayyidah Aisha famous for ?No where is mentioned that the prophet married LadyAisha for her beauty or wealth.She developed into a profound and able teacher andscholar, due in part to her remarkable memory, intelligenceand wisdom.She was always keen to learn whatever the prophet saidand also what was revealed to him.
  7. 7. Great Wisdom behind this marriage:Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) marriage with Aisha atthat age was indeed a great blessings for all the Muslimsever since. Most of the matters related to cleanliness, marriedrelationship and other household issues have been cleareddue to her narrations.She lived a long time after the death of the Holy Prophet and continued to teach the Ummah about mattersof daily routine and great importance. Even after the deathof the honourable prophet many scholars were taught ather hands.

It was not out of his physical desires: After the death of Lady Khadiga( the first wife), theprophet remained single for many years and it was hiscompanions who pressed on him to marry another womanto look after him and his children. However, the prophetchose an old lady though many beautiful young womenwished to marry him. The prophet also proposed to LadyAisha at that time who had already been engaged but thisengagement was nullfied.

When a Girl is to be Married according to Christian ScripturesNumbers 31:17-18 "Now kill all the boys [innocent kids].And kill every woman who has slept with a man, butsave for yourselves every girl who has never slept witha man.“After the conquest of Midian and Moab, and the greatvenereal plague, Moses (peace be on him) ordered thatall the women "who have known a man" be killed butthat "all the young girls, who have not known a man bylying with him" be kept alive for the Israelites.
