constructing this product?

2. • Our production was filmed on a Sony A57 (picture shown below)
• We decided to use this camera instead of the school cameras because
the quality was better and we could control the settings on the camera
more easily.
• The camera also had a flip out screen, therefore we could line up very
high angle shots and still see what we were doing.
• I learnt how to navigate my way around this camera. How to focus
it, how to change the aperture to let the right amount of light into the
camera. Therefore we could experiment with how shots would look.
• I think I’ve learnt to use the camera well, however I should have
taken more of a hands on approach to using it, to get more experience
with how it works.
The Camera
3. • At points of filming we had to keep the camera steady.
• The tripod was the most useful piece of equipment we used to
keep the camera steady. The tripod had a ball where the camera
was, which meant we could tilt the camera and film, but still
keep it steady.
• However we did not use the tripod all the time. When we
wanted to create shaky, disorientated shots we held the camera
manually, therefore the movement of our bodies created
camera shake.
• Here is an example picture of us using the tripod to keep the
camera steady.
I think we used the tripod efficiently and effectively, we
only used it when needed and when we did use it created
the desired effect .

shown above we did not use the
boom pole because it was not needed
to record as much sound.
5. • We learnt the effect of different lighting.
• Our sequence is a horror, therefore we decided that dark
lighting would be the most appropriate. It makes the
atmosphere feel gloomy and unwelcoming. Therefore this
haunted house would not appeal to the audience , this
helps them identify with the characters’ fear. Personally I
believe the lighting choice successfully conveyed what
we wanted.
• If the lighting was bright then the house would seem too
welcoming and safe.

17. This is how my Tumblr looks. I think the theme is very
important because it always creates the first impression of
my blog. I chose this theme because I thought it was very
appropriate. As you can see to the right some of the posts are
displayed on screens with a film cameras projecting them.
Since I’m studying film I thought this was suitable.
Tumblr Continued
18. • We used YouTube to upload our videos.
• After uploading our videos to YouTube we can embed them
into our blogs.
• We have learnt the importance of tags. When uploading your
video to YouTube you have various things you can fill out; one
is the title (The Waiting), the description of the video and the
tags. The tags make it easier to search and find your video on
YouTube, you would tag your video with appropriate words
e.g. horror, scary, media.
• A link to the Chew Valley Media YouTube channel is linked to
the title below…

19. • Scribd is an online method of uploading documents to
share.
• By signing in and clicking upload you can upload any
document of your own to Scribd.
• Once the document is uploaded you can embed your
document to Tumblr via clicking the embed button and
copying and pasting the embed code into Tumblr.
• Scribd has been very useful because it meant that we
could post our storyboards and scripts to Tumblr.
20. • Prezi has been very useful for showing my evaluation of
my sequence. It gives us a different way of presenting our
work, by creating almost a video presenting our points.
• You first get to choose a theme for your Prezi. Each
theme conveys a different message e.g. for my Prezi on
distributors I used a magnifying glass theme, as if I’m
looking into the subject.
• You can add videos and photos onto Prezi to make it
more elaborate.
