WHAT IS AN EXTRA BENEFIT?AN EXTRA BENEFIT IS ANY SPECIAL ARRANGEMENT BY AN INSTITUTIONAL EMPLOYEE OR A REPRESENTATIVE OF THE INSTIUTION’S ATHLETICS INTERESTS TO PROVIDE A STUDENT-ATHLETE OR THE STUDENT-ATHLETE’S RELATIVE OR FRIEND A BENEFIT NOT EXPRESSLY AUTHORIZED BY NCAA LEGISLATION. RECEIPT OF A BENEFIT BY STUDENT-ATHLETES OR THEIR RELATIVES OR FRIENDS IS NOT A VIOLATION OF NCAA LEGISTLATION IF IT IS DEMONSTRATED THAT THE SAME BENEFIT IS GENERALLY AVAILABLE TO THE INSTITUTION’S STUDENTS OR THEIR RELATIVES OR FRIENDS OR TO APARTICULAR SEGMENT OF THE STUDENT BODY (E.G., FOREIGN STUDENTS, MINORITY STUDENTS) DETERMINED ON A BASIS UNRELATED TO ATHLETIC ABILITY.

PERMISSIBLE EXPENSES BASED ONPERMISSION OF THE CITADEL LEARNING AND ACADEMIC RETENTION CENTER ACADEMIC AND OTHER SUPPORT SERVICES THAT MAY BE FINANCED BY AN INSTITUTION  TUTORING EXPENSES  USE OF COMPUTERS  USE OF COPY MACHINES, FAX MACHINES AND THE INTERNET, INCLUDING LONG-DISTANCE CHARGE PROVIDED THE USE IF FOR PURPOSES RELATED TO THE COMPLETION OF ACADEMIC WORK.  NON-ELECTRONIC DAY PLANNERS  COURSE SUPPLIES (E.G., CALCULATORS, ART SUPPLIES, COMPUTER DIKS, SUBSCRIPTIONS) PROVIDED SUCH COURSE SUPPLIES ARE REQUIRED OF ALL STUDENTS IN THE COURSE AND SPECIFIED IN THE INSTITUTION’S CATALOG OR COURSE SYLLABUS

IT IS NOT PERMISSIBLE TO: PROVIDE STUDENT-ATHLETES WITH ANY TYPE OF EXTRA BENEFITS, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:  MONEY  TICKETS TO SPORTING EVENTS, COLLEGIATE OR PROFESSIONAL  MEALS (E.G., TREATING A STUDENT-ATHLETE TO DINNER OR BUYING THEM A SODA)  TRANSPORTATION (E.G., OFFERING A RIDE TO CLASS AND/OR HOME)  CLOTHING  DISCOUNTS ON ANY MERCHANDISE, OR SERVICES COMPLETE HOMEWORK OR COURSEWORK FOR A STUDENT-ATHLETE TYPE OR WRITE A PAPER AND/OR AN ASSIGNMENT FOR A STUDENT ATHLETE “SIT IN” OR TAKE NOTES AND/OR EXAM FOR STUDENT-ATHLETE TUTOR A STUDENT-ATHLETE OUTSIDE OF THE TIMES SET FOR YOU IN THE TUTORIAL PROGRAM (OVER TUTORING IS A VIOLATION OF NCAA REGULATIONS) DISCUSS A STUDENT-ATHLETE’S GRADES, COURSEWORK, AND/OR PROGRESS WITH ANYONE OUTSIDE OF THE TUTORIAL PROGRAM. THESE RECORDS PROTECT BY THE FAILY EDUCATIONAL RIGHTS AND PRIVACY ACT OF 1974 (BUCKLEY AMENDMENT) AND THEY MAY NOT BE DISCLOSED TO ANYONE OTHER THAN TUTHORIZED INSTITUTIONAL STUAFF MEMBERS
  10. 10. COMPLIMENTARY ADMISSIONS I WILL NOT OFFER OR ARRANGE FOR A STUDENT- ATHLETE TO RECEIVE PAYMENT FROM ANY SOURCE FOR HIS OR HER COMPLIMENTARY ADMISSIONS, OR EXCHANGE OR ASSIGN THEM FOR ANY ITEM OF VALUE, OR BARTAR FOR SERVICES.

BUCKLEY AMENDMENT I AGREE NOT TO DISCLOSE TO ANY PARTYINFORMATION REGARDINGA STUDENT-ATHLETE’S RESULTS OF NCAA OR CITADEL DRUG TEST. ACADEMIC TRANSCRIPTS FROM AN INSTIUTION INCLUDING THE CITADEL PRE-COLLEGE TEST SCORES AND INFORMATION RELATING TO ELIGIBILITY OF NONSTANDARD TESTING (E.G., LEARNING DISABILITIES) RECORDS CONCERNING FINANCIAL AID INFORMATION PERTAINING TO HIS/HER NCAA ELIGIBILITY, EXCEPT TO INSTITUTIONAL REPRESENTATIVES ACADEMIC PROGRESS, INFORMATION REGARDING COURSEWORK AND/OR TUTORING SESSIONS, EXCEPT TO INSTITUTIONAL REPRESENTATIVES

ETHICAL CONDUCT STATEMENT I AGREE TO FURNISH INFORMATION RELEVANT TO AN INVESTIGATION OF A POSSIBLE VIOLATION OF AN NCAA REGULATION WHEN REQUESTED TO DO SO BY THE NCAA, SOUTHERN CONFERENCE, OR THE CITADEL I WILL NOT ARRANGE OR ASSIST IN ARRANGING FOR FRAUDULENT ACADEMIC CREDIT FOR STUDENT-ATHLETES I WILL NOT OFFER OR PROVIDE A STUDENT-ATHLETE AN IMPROPER INDUCEMENT OR EXTRA BENEFIT OR IMPORPER FINANCIAL AID I WILL NOT KNOWINGLY FURNISH THE NCAA, SOUTHER CONFERENCE, OR THE CITADEL FALSE OR MISLEADING INFORMATION CONCERNING THE INDIVIDUAL’S INVOLVMENT IN OR KNOWLEDGE OF MATTERS RELEVANT TO A POSSIBLE VIOLATION OF AN NCAA REGULATION I WILL NOT ARRANGE A MEETING BETWEEN A STUDENT-ATHLETE AND AN AGENT, FINANCIAL ADVISOR, OR A REPRESENTATIVE OF AN AGENT OR ADVISOR (E.G., “RUNNER”)
  13. 13. GAMIBLINGSTATEMENTI WILL NOT SOLICITY OR ACCEPTA BET ON ANY INTERCOLLEGIATE COMPETITION FOR ANY ITEM(E.G., CASH, SHIRT, DINNER, ETC) THAT HAS TANGIBLE VALUE. I WILL NOT PROVIDE INFORMATION TO INDIVIDUALS INVOLVED IN GAMBLING ACTIVITIES CONCERNING INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETIC COMPETITION.

ACADEMIC FRAUD STATEMENTIF I HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF A STUDENT- ATHLETE WHO IS SUBMITTING WORK THAT IS NOT HIS/HER OWN, OR IS SUBMITTING TEST OR EXAMINATION MATIERALS THAT ARE NOT HIS/HER OWN, I UNDERSTAND THAT IT IS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO REPORT THIS ACTIVITY TO THE CITADEL LEARNING AND ACADEMIC RETENTION CENTER
  15. 15. STUDENT- ATHLETE NO SHOW IF A STUDENT-ATHLETE DOES NOT SHOW UP FOR A MEETING OR TUTORING SESSION, THEIR COACH WILL BEIMMEDIATELY NOTIFIED
