My life was flushed down the toilet I didn't want to move to California I was fine with staying in Austin, Texas but we had to move because of my
parents' job. I lived in a grey house in the middle of nowhere our backyard was in the forest, we haven't explored it yet. I lived with my mom,my
Dad,my sister Julia, and my brother James. Julia and I were 12 and James was 6. Lucky for us me and Julia weren't separated from James yet I mean
it was in the middle of the summer. One warm sunny morning my mom woke me up. She said to me Bethany take care of James and Julia and don't
go outside and your father have to leave. I think she thought I heard her but I was too busy sleeping then she left. I heard the car start and drive away

"I thought it was just a story," I said. "Ok that's enough,"said Julia So I grabbed the book and looked when the lights turned on I looked up and saw
Julia but no James then I heard someone whisper I found the light switch I turned around quickly and saw it was James. I whispered back saying
don't do that he said okay and read again I flipped the page until I came to a stop it said to get rid of him you have to get salt water a drop of bloop and
a strand of brown hair make sure you pour it on his head and he will leave they ingredients you need are up here mix well. So we looked for the salt
water and then Bethany primed her finger on a needle and let it drip in the bowl and pulled a strained of brown hair off of Julia's hair and mixed.
While I was doing that I saw James come up to me with the book . "Hey guys look what I found in the book it says we know it's done when it steam
comes out,"said James. All of a sudden we heard footsteps and it sounded like he knew where we were but instead he walked in my moms room. I
thought to myself what if it doesn't work what would happen to us? I thought about the question for a long time until a

Narrative Essay: Hunterberry's New House
It was dark, horrific, and gloomy on the streets of Hunterberry. A man named William, now 26, was walking down the streets of Hunterberry, when he
came across this amazing house. He looked at the sign next to the house, "FOR SALE." William was surprised, what such house should be not sold
yet? He quickly contacted the Landowner. The next day, the landowner took his offer of 91,000 dollars, and has been sold to William. William in
excitement, told his friends and family of his new house! What he didn't know, what was he was about to meet in the house, something or someone,
haunting the walls of the house. But who would be this uninvited guest?
" Yes mom, I bought my first house!" shouted William to his mother on the phone. "Fantastic,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There was pictures of kings, and queens, some just empty canvases. He found brushes and antiques, such as an electrical chair, and a priceless
piece of metal work. William was amazed at all of these things, he almost forgot he what turned on the light, until he saw a canvas with multiple
blankets. A note was on these blankets reading "Keep Closed." William felt limited and as a furious person, ripped the canvas apart. He noticed
the painting, blank, and faded. It was a picture of a man in a black sweater on the beach. His head all covered, with a coddle. He loved the picture,
he decided he would take a picture. He grabbed his camera and focused on the strange man on the beach. *Snap* made the camera. The flash blinded
William for a second, brighten the room for a second. William looked at the photo, but couldn't see what it was. He shake it for 1 whole minute.
William looked at the photo looking at that beach. While William was trying to figure out the supposed person, he was interrupted by a squeaking

Descriptive Essay About My Birthday
Friday,October 13, my birthday. Thunder booming, lightning flashing as I came out of school. I was running as fast as a jet plane through
puddles of water splashing on me, trying to get home. The rain was hitting the ground with a soothing sound and as I turned around the corner,, I
slowed down. The trees were like a giant umbrella, protecting me from the rain. I was in thinking as I walked peacefully when a giant boom of
thunder shook me from my thoughts. I looked up and realized I was home. I walked in the back door and carefully stepped in looking around. I
guess my parents had to work late that night because no one was home. Halloween was soon so all of our decorations were up and it seemed like they
were staring at me as I... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I slowly walked into the kitchen and looked around. Then I saw it, the skeleton was outside clinging on the backdoor, his bony jaw moving up and
down laughing at me. I started backing up slowly towards the hallway that led to the stairs. I was almost there when I turned around and heard
another crash. The back door flew open and the skeleton was gone. I slammed the door and sat on top of the table so I could see what could
happen. I decided to call my parents to tell them what was going on but no one answered. Then I decided to call my neighbor to see if anything
was happening to her house. Hands shaking, I picked up the phone and called her number. It was silent except the ringing sound in my ear. "Hello"
I heard a soft voice. "Hey are you home?" I said panicking in a worried tone. "Yeah why?" "Strange things are happening over here , is your power
out?" "No, do you want to come over?" And then it happened. The lights started flashing on and off, creepy clowns with big red noses and pale
white faces pounding on the windows, and ugly monsters stomping in the door. This time I screamed so loud that you could hear me from across
the world. I was running as fast as I could to find a hiding place, and like a miracle, I found an empty cabinet just my size. I squeezed my body in
just enough for the door to shut. "Hello. Are you there?" I heard from my hand. I looked down and realized my phone

Essay On The Story Of A Short Story
It was a dark, stormy night the Herrera family was getting ready to go to bed. Lilly and Jose were still awake while their parents were fast asleep.
They couldn't fall asleep due to the cracking of the storm outside of their home. "Jose I can't sleep." Said Lilly. "Neither can I." Jose replied. They
were thinking just to wander around the house until the storm passed by so they could sleep even if they had to go to school the next morning.
"So what do you want to do?" Said Lilly. "I'm thinking just to walk around just to get used to this house." replied Jose. "Okay." Replied Lilly. They
were just walking around the house to get used to the new place since they moved in just two weeks ago until they heard something, something
they have never heard in the house before. "Jose did you hear that?" Lilly said "Hear what?" Jose replied. "I don't know. It kinda sounded like a baby
crying." Answered Lilly. "No." Replied Jose "Okay, well maybe it..." Lilly stopped over the sound of the crying baby. "What was that?" Yelled
Jose. "It was a baby." Answered Lilly. "Why won't the crying stop?" Asked Jose "I don't know. Let's go get mom and dad." Replied Lilly. They
entered the room when the crying stopped, but didn't know if they should still wake them up. "Should we still wake them up?" Asked Jose. "Yes we
should." Answered Lilly. So the kids woke their parents up and told them they heard a baby crying. "You two are crazy. There is no baby in this

Who Is The Hero In Flowers In The Attic
"We lived in the attic, Christopher, Cory, Carrie and Me. Now there are only Three."

Lifetime movie called "Flowers in the Attic." It was released as a premiere on Lifetime on May 26, 2014. The movie is both a drama and a thriller. The
original movie of the same name was released in 1987 and they were both based on a 1969 book by V.C. Andrews. The film follows the four
Dollanganger children: 14 year old Chris (portrayed by Mason Dye), 12 year old Cathy (portrayed by Kiernan Shipka), 5 year old Cory (portrayed by
Maxwell Kovach), and 5 year old Carrie (portrayed by Ava Telek). The film is told from the point of view of Cathy and she is portrayed as the heroine
and her grandmother is the villain. Her mother progresses from a 'good guy' to one of the bad guys during the course of the movie. In the late 1950's,

Chris how Cory's pet mouse has died after eating a piece of powdered doughnut, revealing that the poison was in their food. Olivia then comes to take
their key, and Chris restrains her long enough for Cathy and Carrie to escape. Olivia chases after them, but panics due to her claustrophobia when Chris
shuts the door and turns the lights off. Olivia tells them that their mother was the one who poisoned them, not her, but they ignore her and climb out

other side. The man then slowly tiptoed with his feet slowly sinking into the sand as he silently worked his way to the post office next door to the
shop. He then walked in and managed to walk his way up the precarious, slightly decaying steps leading to the attic.
Joe returned from the store, climbed into the rig's trailer, and started pulling pallets off of it. After pulling out multiple heavy crates, he finally reached
the front of the rig. At the front, there was a pallet full of fruits that had been smashed as if an anvil fell upon them. With a look of dismay, Joe stared

Having finally had enough sleep, the man in black decided to head out of the attic, and he stuffed the bags of cash in the corner of the abandoned
attic. The man then crawled down the loudly creaking steps from the attic and tiptoed his way to the door of the post office. He pushed upon the
heavy wooden door, and there was a loud screech as the door revolved on its rusty hinges. The man in black then looked around at the town and was
now able to admire how simplistic it was. Every building he could see was made from the same materials and shaped precisely the same. The only
thing distinguishing public buildings were brown signs composed in a slightly eerie font.
One of the signs once held a K that slowly drooped away from the other letters that read BAN. This was much to the man's delight, and he hurried
across the sand to the building. After completing the several paces it took to get to the bank the man pulled on the door, and it slid easily open.
Now inside, the man in black looked around and saw absolutely no modern forms of security. In the back of the room stood a large metal door with a
combination dial on the front. Having been well experienced, the man in black cracked the safe within seconds and heaved the extremely heavy door
open a crack. The man in black stared in awe at the contents of the safe.
Contained in the safe were a bunch of cobwebs and a tiny golden bar slightly sticking up out of the sand. The man in black grabbed the

Short Story : ' The Fear Of Noise '
Acousticophobia, The fear of noise. Bethany a sophomore in college lived 80 miles away from her parents in a town called Little Ivy Wood. Little
Ivy Wood was a small town which was dark and quiet. In fact was so dark that a single light would light up the rest of the town. Little Ivy Wood
was my residence and I liked it the way it is, dark, quite, small and it was perfect for my occupation. Going back to Bethany, she was a young lady
who had something special that everyone knew about. Gold locket. Clearly it was passed from generations down in her family it was known to be
magical. Also, I forgot she had the fear of noise, like a scream, ringtones, and doorbells. Unpredictably one day the doorbell rang at Bethany 's house.
As expected, she screamed and the person outside knew there was someone in the house. Also Bethany had always wanted her parents to be with
her, but she had no choice but to stay alone. As she was going to open the door a small piece of paper came through the front door. On top of that
the note read, "Feeling lonely, Don't worry, I'm here for you." As a result, Bethany was terrified and couldn't see how the person would know what
was going on in her mind. In hesitation, she decided to call her parents to see if they were home and would visit her. Since her parents didn't pick up
she called her neighbor, Brook. She was tall, slender girl who loved to play soccer and couple months she was a witness in a kidnapping case.
Tragically, Brook's parents died in a

Stereotyping Of Dolphins
Imagine you are a sales representative for a makeup company. You're making your monthly run through your neighborhood, you become
disappointed that no one wants to buy any of the makeup you're selling. Then you realize, you had not been to the mansion at the top of the large
hill in your hometown. You arrive at the front yard of the mansion and you're amazed by the many hedges that are many different shapes and sizes.
For example, there are dinosaurs and dolphins. They are unlike anything you have seen before. You knock on the door and no one answers so you
just walk in. Once you are up in the attic, you see a man wearing dark clothing and that is sitting all alone. You say, "Come on, I won't hurt you." He

The Annex Research Paper
My original question was how long were they in the annex before getting caught. I then expanded that topic and came up with ten other questions
related to that topic. My then questions were: What was living in the annex for two years like? What was staying in such a small place like the annex
like? After living in the annex for two years, how were they caught? Why was Anne happy when they got caught? Who was it that caught them in the
annex after two years? What does the annex look like? Why were the Van daan's the first to the annex? How did Anne feel about being cooped up in
the annex for two years? What incident makes Anne and her family go into hiding in the annex? Why did Mr. Frank let the Van Daans stay with him
and his family in the annex? The first question I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It has a lot of stairs and doors as well. The annex is hidden very well by doors and hallways as well as the moveable bookcase. It is located on the
second floor and goes all the way up to the third. Once you enter behind the moveable bookcase there is a step stairway that leads to the Van Daans.
On the right there is a door that leads to the W.C. On the left there is a door that leads to the Franks' room. If you go up the stairs Peter's room is to
the left of the kitchen. His room is just a landing leading up to the attic but he doesn't care. if you take the stairs in Peter's room it leads up to an
attic which is where the food is stored and Anne sometimes goes to write up there. The second question I researched was what is living in the annex
for two years like. Anne hates hiding in the annex. She loves fresh air and nature helps her keep her joy. When the Green Police come to capture
them she is kind of optimistic. The third question I researched is after living in the annex for two years, how were they caught. They were caught by
the thief that broke in and heard Peter drop the light. He told the Green Police and they came to capture

Creative Writing: The Haunted House
Have you ever been stuck. If so, then you know what it feels like. The feelings of despair. The thought That you may never get out. This has ran in
my mind before. This is the story of when I was stuck in attic It was a calm Friday morning. It was the middle of Winter, but I thought it would be
alright to not wear a jacket. Me and the rest of the family were going to see if there was anything expensive in a house up the hill. We owned it, but
never went into it. Mainly because of how unstable the house was. Because of this, I was told to look through a shed behind the house. While I was
searching through it, I found nothing. Maybe an old vase, or a chair, but everything was cheap and useless. That's when I had an idea. There was an

I started to look through boxes. Crash! I jolted at the sound of something breaking. "It is probably just a rat," I reassured myself. I picked up a
picture of my grandmother. It was something that she might like. I heard a hiss from the shadows. This was no rodent. I reached for a nearby object.
I found a lamp and took off the top of it. It was a brass lamp, so it was sturdy enough to hit with. The creature ran at me on all fours. I swung at it and
hit it in the face. "Ow!" the creature screamed. I was confused, so I walked forward with a flashlight. It was my cousin lying on the floor. "What is your
problem!" I yelled at him. He looked up laughing, "I got you. You should have seenthe look on your face." He had a grin on his face. I wanted to hit
him again. "Do you have a death wish" I yelled at him. He started to laugh. I dropped the lamp and it made a loud noise. I looked at him with a face of
anger and fire in my eyes. However it quickly died down. I went to the door and began to open it. However the door would not open. I turned around to

Use of Attics in Literature Essay
The Phenomenology of Space––Attic Memories and Secrets
Since Gilbert and Gubar's The Madwoman in the Attic, critics have assumed that attics house madwomen. But they use that concept as a metaphor for
their thesis, that women writers were isolated and treated with approbation. In most literature, attics are dark, dusty, seldom–visited storage areas, like
that of the Tulliver house in The Mill on the Floss––a "great attic under the old high–pitched roof," with "worm–eaten floors," "worm–eaten shelves,"
and "dark rafters festooned with cobwebs"––a place thought to be "weird and ghostly." Attics do not house humans (not even mad ones) they
warehouse artifacts that carry personal and familial history––often a history that has been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Attics make us think of history, interesting artifacts, old toys, books, clothes, linens, jewelry, and other treasures–but, most of all, of deep, dark, and
significant family secrets. It was in the attic of the house that I grew up in that, as a snooping teenager, I found the packet of letters from my mother to
her first husband. Her FIRST husband. I had never dreamed that she had had but one husband––my father. And had I not ferreted out those letters, I
probably still would not know. Then, that night, my father took me aside–I'm sure at my mother's urging–and confessed that he too had been married
and divorced before he met my mother. Whether particular attics hide such secrets hardly matters. What matters is that psychologically we believe that
they do. In fact, attics frequently house just the sort of information I unearthed–facts that one is too attached to to throw away, but which one very
much wants to remain secret.
Before a discussion of attics can begin, it is essential to define what is meant by "attic" and to distinguish attics from upper rooms. Not all third floor
spaces are attics, because many larger houses have and had third floor rooms that were normal living spaces, sometimeshaving bedrooms and
sometimes having a huge, finished room used for balls and other parties. Such rooms were furnished, and comfortably habitable. Such is the case with
a room that is often cited as an "attic" that incarcerates a "madwoman," the upper room in "The

What Is My Favorite Room Essay
MY FAVOURITE CHILDHOOD ROOM
Our house was over 100 years old, with long narrow windows and a black lacquered front door, made of solid oak. When my dad stripped the lacquer
off the door, it still showed the cut marks made by charcoal or a pencil that served as a guide for the original door maker. Our house was a medium
brown colored two–story stucco dwelling, nestled between old elm and pine trees that sat atop a hill. In the winter if you stood at the very edge of the
street, on your tipee toes, you could see Lake Calhoun at the bottom of the hill. I loved my old house.
My room, located on the second floor, was shaped somewhat like a hotel suite, with a separate sitting area that boasted two windows. On the wall next
to the windows was the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I also had a painting of Minnie Mouse, given to me by my great–aunt as a Christmas present. She had painted Mickey for the boys and Minnie for the
girls. Minnie was allowed to grace my bedroom walls because she wore a pretty pink dress and a great big pink bow in her ears.
My room was my haven, my place to play dress–up, dance, daydream, whatever I wanted. Life was perfect in my room, except, it wasn't pink.
Begging my parents to paint or wallpaper my room pink was a task that started and ended just about every day. I felt my room would be perfect if
the walls were a soft pastel, pretty shade of pink, not unlike the tutus I always saw and the dance shops. Every day, I had to imagine my room was
pink, with the windows trimmed in white. I can still see it now, as I saw it in my mind's eye at six, my beautiful room, not with walls of drab white,
but a soft, soothing, sweet pink, like cotton candy at the state fair.
During the summer of my eighth year, my mother, one day called me into the house. Running inside, I asked her what she needed. Go to your room,
was all she said.
Horrified at the thought of being in trouble, I stammered that I hadn't done anything

Essay about The Forbidding House
It was a cold winter's night. The wind was whistling through the bare branches of the trees. The dead leaves were dancing noisily across pavements
and all was still. That night I was walking down Old St.Paul's Road when the clouds started to build. I looked around as I huddled under a large, dead
oak tree. I had noticed that almost all of the houses on this abandoned street were too badly damaged for us to take shelter in, except for one. Lightning
split the night sky without a sound, illuminating the skeletal trees outside. The old Victorian house shook to its very foundations as the peal of thunder
rumbled hatefully across the shimmering, tempestuous lake. Should I stay under the tree... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once I got to the top my heart thumped harder and faster as I saw a dark figure in the distance, disturbingly silhouetted in the dark. In the shock I
slipped and fell backwards, tumbling down, like rocks on a cliff face. When I got to the bottom, I felt a ghastly throbbing pain in my back, which
hurt like hell. I slowly got up and my mind was focused on the thing I had seen upstairs. I then felt a cold breeze that made my bones shiver and
hair stand up on end. A giant rat scampered across the floor; it's beady eyes glowed red in the flicker of the lantern light. It hissed at me. I dropped
my lantern. Suddenly, I was plunged into utter darkness. I took several deep breaths to calm my trembling body and finished my trek up the stairs.
Vivid flashes of lightning illuminated the attic. A vase lay in pieces in front of the broken window. Well, at least I knew what had caused the crash,
I mused to myself. I found an old threadbare cloak hanging near the window. I now realised that is wasn't a person who I had seen but simply an old
cloak. I suddenly tripped over a large box as I walked. The trunk wasn't locked, but age had rusted it shut. I gripped the top and pulled with all of my
strength. The trunk protested, but finally gave in. Another rat jumped up at me. I clenched the rat's tail and threw it away from me. I felt something
solid inside the trunk. Whatever I had found, didn't

NFPA 13 System: An Analysis
You have asked the following question: "We are installing a NFPA 13 system. The attic is constructed with fire retardant
–treated wood (with UL
listing). Access to the attic requires removal of a drop ceiling panel and the use of a ladder to reach a small metal hatch no larger than 2 ft x 2 ft. Is
this considered a concealed space that qualifies for application of the omission of protection allowance or is it considered an accessible attic?" In
response to your question, we have reviewed the 1999 edition of NFPA 13 you indicated as the applicable standards as well as the 2013 edition of
NFPA 13. Our informal interpretation is that both statements apply.

The first movie I will be analyzing is Insidious. Mainly because I know it the best and I can easily analyze it. So, the first clue that I get from
Dalton about his curiousity with the attic is when he comes downstairs after waking up when his mom is looking at old photos saying "Mom, I can't
sleep either". This absolutely SCREAMS at me saying "Hey, there is something in the attic, it sounds really creepy and evil, but I REALLY want to go
check it out because I don't know what it is!" That's the impression I think the author was trying to get across. I also think it sort of relates to the normal
cultured myth of telling your parents you saw/heard someone/thing in the attic. I also think something is in the house when Dalton's mom finds her...

I wonder where parts of this movie will be taking place! So, the movie starts out as Emma is taking a bath, and she starts hearing noises that someone
is in the house, so she freaks out and gets out the bath, shuts as many doors as possible, while calling someone. I dont know if this is one of her
friends or parents, but it definitely follows the cultured myth I mentioned before. She then looks up the attic ans sees, someone that looks a lot like her,
and that figure attacks her, signifying that the attic is housing something, most likely one of her repressions, and that it has been under lock and key for
sometime. A little later in thefilm, her brother comes home, and the family has a nice reunion. Later that night however, Emma can't sleep, and she
hears noises up in the attic, so she goes and grabs some food, looks on the porch and sees a figure, shaking violently, only to realize it was a

Garage Shelving Case
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Rolesville, NC) HSH.com reports the number one complaint of homeowners is a lack of storage space. They surveyed 1,001 individuals to discover
what annoyed them most about their home to obtain this information, and The Wyman Group states this is due to individuals wanting more room for
their items, as opposed to a need for more space for a larger family. This is especially of concern in older homes, which tend to lack in this area, and
people often look for creative ways to add to their residence. Garage Attics offers a solution to this problem in the form of Garage Storage.
"Garage Shelving is one option many individuals look to when they need more room for their possessions. This takes up valuable floor space, however,

In 2015, almost 25 percent of Americans said their garage was actually too cluttered to even bring their car inside. No homeowner should give up this
valuable space when we offer a solution," Cocchiola continues.
Kelley Blue Book, back in 2015, reported that the average new car cost $30,000. This is an investment an individual makes, therefore they should not
leave their vehicle exposed to the elements. As one in four people are doing exactly this, it's obvious many homeowners would benefit from a garage
storage system that doesn't use up any space on the floor.
"Contact us today for a free, no obligation consultation and free estimate. Homeowners often fail to recognize the possibilities in their existing home
and either opt to buy a larger residence or add on to the existing one for additional space. As this system makes use of the overhead space in a garage,
there is no need to do either. In addition to freeing up valuable space, Garage Attics saves homeowners money, and all appreciate this added bonus,"
Cocchiola states.

Personal Narrative: Moving To An Abounded Home
One foggy night in March 9, 2012 my and my family moved into an abounded house, in a small town. My parents and sibling's were going to visit
my uncle, aunt and cousins and they were not going to be home until 12:00am. One of my cousins was going to stay with me to have a sleepover.
My parents were about to leave so after they left I waved a good bye to them. As I waved goodbye to them I saw a shadow, that started walking toward
us and then it disappears.
Ten minutes later my mom called saying she was already with my aunt's. She told me to lock the door, close the windows, and not to turn all the
lights, but only if I needed to. As I was talking to my mom in the phone I heard a strange noise. " Can you hear that" I told my mom. She replied " no".
My mom could not finished talking because the phone called ended. I told my cousin to see if she could hear the noise. She did not hear it either.
After a few minutes I knew I was the only one who could hear the noise threw the phone.

Personal Narrative Essay
Three weeks ago my fiancГ©, Jenny, and I moved into a beautiful old home in the outer suburbs of Boston. Jenny and I met ten years ago at
Boston College and have stuck together as I toiled through medical school and she supported the two of us with her job as a paralegal. I bought
this old house to celebrate finishing my residency and as a way to thank Jenny for working so hard to provide for us while I chased my dream of
becoming a doctor. I could imagine Jenny and I raising a family and living here for the rest of our lives. Well, that changed soon after we moved in
and I found something terrible living in our attic.–The first few days in our new home passed in a blur as we coordinated furniture deliveries, stocked
the house with food, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
–My head cleared the top of the ladder and I nearly lost my grip on the ladder as my eyes took in the horror before me. Human heads in varying
states of decomposition adorned the slanted walls of the attic. The only source of light came from a small, open window. A slight movement in the
corner of the room pulled me back to the present situation. Find Jenny. I moved towards the corner, my right hand tightly gripping the crowbar, and
found Jenny lying on an old bloodstained table. She was unconscious with a head wound and it appeared as though something had been gnawing on
her foot. Suddenly the trapdoor slammed shut behind me and I heard the metallic click of a lock sliding into place.–A large, dark figure emerged from
the opposite side of the attic. In his hands he held a heavy chain, at the end of which was a small emaciated dog. They slowly crept forwards and I
realized, to my horror, that it was not a dog at the end of a chain but an old man crawling on all fours.–The next few moments passed in a blur as is
typical when a person is forced into a fight or flight situation.I immediately charged the gruesome duo with the crowbar raised high above my

Home is where family resides. Home is where one feels safe, like a baby in a cradle. Home is where one has a back to rely on, people to trust. For

protect me from the hideous monsters outside. The ugly, manipulating, disgusting monsters who lure one in with their sweetness and proceed to

Blown In Insulation May Be The Solution For Staying Warmer In The Winter
If it seems like your power bill is higher in the winter than it used to be, it might be because you need to add insulation to your attic. Insulation can
compress over time, or it can get wet from attic leaks and cease to work like it should. Adding insulation could improve the energy efficiency in your
home and that in turn will reduce your power bill. While you can choose from a few different types of insulation to add, blown in insulation is often
the best option. Here are a few things to know.
Apply It Over Existing Insulation
As long as your current insulation is not wet or moldy, you can have new insulation blown in over top of it. This will save you from the labor of
pulling up old insulation that could release fiberglass, mouse droppings, or other dangers into the air that might circulate through your home. However,
if you need to pull out the existing insulation, you will be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Fiberglass is one option. It can be blown into your attic, but there is the risk that tiny bits of fiberglass will become airborne and float through your
home. For that reason, the contractor might install a netting system over the fiberglass to hold it in place. The advantage of using blown in fiberglass
over batts is that the blow in variety is able to settle itself evenly over the floor of your attic, and isn't confined to the shape of the batts that might leave
small gaps uninsulated.
Cellulose is the more common type of blown in insulation. It is made from recycled paper and cardboard that is treated to be fire retardant. It is
heavier than fiberglass, so it stays put once it is blown in. Although it is heavy, it is manufactured to be fluffy. This allows for air circulation that
prevents mold. Plus, the trapping of air pockets improves insulating

Energy Star Research Paper
The Energy Star program estimate that most people could save money on their AC bills by ridding their home of air leaks. Most older houses have
large and small cracks in the foundation, roof and walls. These cracks could be small or gaping holes. Most people might only notice large holes, but
some cracks cannot be seen without a magnifying glass.
After locating the air leaks, the technician will seal the cracks with a caulk or foam. An HVACtechnician can find leaks with a blower and infrared
cameras. A blower is a large fan that is installed in the doorway, and the fan has a device that can measure the amount of air flowing through the
home. An infrared camera can expose air leaks. The camera uses the colors blue and red to indicate hot ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When the garage door is closed, there should not be any openings around the sides, bottom or top of the garage door. The technician can apply PVC
molding to the cracks. The molding will seal the gap between the door and the frame.
If the garage has an uneven floor, the technician can apply a brush seal. It will prevent dirt and water from penetrating the floor. The most durable seals
are made from nylon and aluminum.
Weather stripping can keep your garage warm during the winter months and cool during the summer months. Since your garage will be warmer, you
will not have to waste time waiting for your car to heat up.
It is going to be a hot and long summer, and your air conditioner will be forced to work hard if your home is not properly insulated. When an HVAC
technician finishes weather stripping your windows and doors, you will save money on your AC bills. Do not wait until the summer to take action.
You can start saving money on your electric bills today. An experienced HVAC technician can help you reduce your energy consumption and lower
your carbon footprint. You will be amazed by how much money you save every month.

Mice In Attic Research Paper
Finding mice in attic is a headache no homeowner wants to deal with. Not only are they a nuisance, but your home will need a thorough cleaning to get
your attic back in shape. Mice in attic are dirty and potentially dangerous, with true pest behaviour that requires tried–and–true methods to get them out
for good. They'll quickly lower your house value. Here's how. Contamination Fur, urine, droppings, and saliva are all different ways mice in attic
contaminate homes. Mice spread diseases like hantavirus, salmonella, and listeria. Food prep surfaces, such as counters, could now host diseases. As
these pesky critters dirty more food than they eat, you'll find nibbled cardboard boxes, loose papers, and other material quickly contaminated. Other fun
sights accompanying chewed material are droppings on pantry... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
New homeowners don't want to live in a place ruined by rodents. A mouse's oily fur is filled with bacteria and diseases, where brushing up along
walls and corners leaves behind germs and residue. This means spending extra money sanitizing the home and ridding it of mice presence.
Destruction The destruction mice in attic cause in the home isn't only expensive to fix, it's a safety hazard. Mice are unstoppable. They'll chew
through rigid foam and fiberglass insulation, and they'll gnaw at wood in the home, from furniture and trim to cabinets and door structure. Bare wires
resulting from constant nibbling by mice who have gained access to the home's wiring system can lead to house fires. When it comes time to sell, this
kind of damage is often a big deal breaker for potential buyers. An unsafe and unstable home does nothing to increase its value. When new buyers
realize the extent of pest damage in the home, they'll often ask for significant reductions in asking price–due to problems they'll have to fix. Thousands
of dollars in repairs is a problem nobody

Tips For Adding Attic Insulation To Your Home
If you're tired of shivering in your home when the weather turns cold, it's probably time to install new insulation in your attic and walls. While you'll
probably need to hire a contractor to blow insulation in your walls, you can install attic insulation yourself if you have basic home improvement skills.
Here are a few tips that may help.
Choose Your Insulation Material
Blankets and blow–in insulation are easy to use if you want to install the insulation yourself. The blankets come in standard sizes that you can unroll on
the attic floor. You'll need to cut them to fit around vents, pipes, and anything else that gets in the way, but for the most part, you can simply unroll the

To do this, you can buy foam baffles at a home improvement store and place them along the walls and ceiling if necessary. They allow air to circulate
behind them so you won't have to worry about leaving a space between the insulation and your walls.
Also, before you put in the blanket or loose insulation, be sure to seal all the cracks, vents, and pipes with spray foam insulation from a can. Check
for air leaks around windows and other openings and seal any you find with caulk or the spray foam.
Once your attic is prepped, you can install the insulation of your choice. Work from the walls towards the center of the room near the door. When
you're finished with the floor, add some insulation to the door too. You can do this by taping a piece of blanket insulation or foam insulation board
to the back of the door. Then seal the door with weatherstripping so no cold air can leak through the cracks. If your home still seems too cold after
you've added insulation in your attic, check other areas of your home such as the exterior walls, crawlspace, basement, and even the floors in your
home. By insulating these areas too, you'll make your home even more energy

A Short Story : A Story?
Basilton Arlen Wolff–Haynes (Baz) woke up to the noise of his roommate snoring. Groggily, he looked at his watch and groaned inwardly. The
blinking digital letters read: 4:37. Way too early, he thought. There is no way I'm going to be able to go back to sleep, with Snow trying to

quietly behind him. There he was met with a moment of hesitation. Will the door still be unlocked? Do I know what I'm doing? Finally, he pushed all
the doubts out of his head. It's been too long since I've been up there. It would be nice to pay the place a visit.
Without making a sound, he inched down the hall until he reached the stairs. Baz walked normally now, as there was no risk of people overhearing

Analysis Of David Wilentz's Case
to the story. Attorney general David Wilentz was the prosecutor for the trial. Wilentz suggested to the court that the ladder that was found on the
Lindbergh property came from Mr. Hauptamnn's attic (Quinlan & Quinlan, 2013). He also stated that the telephone number of Condon was found
scrawled on a door frame inside a closet at Hauptmann's home (FBI 2013). According to Wilentz a portion of thewood that was used to construct the
ladder match the planks of wood found in Mr. Hauptmann's home (Quinlan & Quinlan, 2013). Wood expert Arthur Koehler was called upon to
examine the wood. According to his expertise in distinguishing wood, the ladder was constructed by a somewhat skilled carpenter (Quinlan &

be floor boarding that appeared to have two distinctive nail holes (Quinlan & Quinlan, 2013). Koehler also examined the floor board for manufacturing

The Importance Of Doors In Little Brown Bats
Bats commonly enter buildings through openings associated with the roof edge and valleys, eaves, apex of the gable, chimney, attic or roof vent,

Personal Narrative: My Trip To The Davenport House Museum
On Monday, September 7, 2015, I took a trip to the Davenport House Museum in downtown Savannah. The Davenport House Museum is an
extraordinary place to explore and learn. It is simply a beautiful and breathtaking museum. The original structure of the building was built in 1820
for Isaiah Davenport and his growing household, with his wife, children, and slaves. On my arrival to the museum I was taken by surprise on how
beautiful it looked from the outside. When I first got there the outside of the front of the museum were stairs and the front door. I was not aware
that the front door wasn't the entrance at all, so I attempted to open the door and when it didn't work I made a attempt to knock not knowing that the
main entry was actually on the side of the house through the basement. Once inside the house I paid my admission of $7 dollars and quickly joined
the tour. The first part of the tour was the Isaiah Davenport office where he did most of his work, in the office it was very plain and boring.
Davenport office mainly included maps and old writing. After, that the tour group and I took a look at the withdraw room and the living room, these
two rooms where connected and beautiful. The withdraw room was very interesting, according to our tour guide the withdraw room is the room that
the women would go to when the men were having great discussion... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Upsides included the rooms of the children and the master bedroom. The first room we visited upsides was the room of the daughter, Cornelia.
Cornelia room was the only room in the house that was actually painted, while the rest of the house had wallpaper. Cornelia room was one my
favorite room out of the whole house, because it was so neat, simply, and beautiful. The next room was the master bedroom, the master bedroom was
where the children were born, and where they died. The master bedroom was a happy and sad place, where both miracles and tragedies

  • 1. Spanish Narrative My life was flushed down the toilet I didn't want to move to California I was fine with staying in Austin, Texas but we had to move because of my parents' job. I lived in a grey house in the middle of nowhere our backyard was in the forest, we haven't explored it yet. I lived with my mom,my Dad,my sister Julia, and my brother James. Julia and I were 12 and James was 6. Lucky for us me and Julia weren't separated from James yet I mean it was in the middle of the summer. One warm sunny morning my mom woke me up. She said to me Bethany take care of James and Julia and don't go outside and your father have to leave. I think she thought I heard her but I was too busy sleeping then she left. I whispered back saying don't do that he said okay and read again I flipped the page until I came to a stop it said to get rid of him you have to get salt water a drop of bloop and a strand of brown hair make sure you pour it on his head and he will leave they ingredients you need are up here mix well. So we looked for the salt water and then Bethany primed her finger on a needle and let it drip in the bowl and pulled a strained of brown hair off of Julia's hair and mixed. While I was doing that I saw James come up to me with the book . "Hey guys look what I found in the book it says we know it's done when it steam comes out,"said James. All of a sudden we heard footsteps and it sounded like he knew where we were but instead he walked in my moms room. I thought to myself what if it doesn't work what would happen to us? A man named William, now 26, was walking down the streets of Hunterberry, when he came across this amazing house. He looked at the sign next to the house, "FOR SALE." William was surprised, what such house should be not sold yet? He quickly contacted the Landowner. The next day, the landowner took his offer of 91,000 dollars, and has been sold to William. William in excitement, told his friends and family of his new house! What he didn't know, what was he was about to meet in the house, something or someone, haunting the walls of the house. I was running as fast as a jet plane through puddles of water splashing on me, trying to get home. The rain was hitting the ground with a soothing sound and as I turned around the corner,, I slowed down. The trees were like a giant umbrella, protecting me from the rain. I was in thinking as I walked peacefully when a giant boom of thunder shook me from my thoughts. I looked up and realized I was home. I decided to call my parents to tell them what was going on but no one answered. Then I decided to call my neighbor to see if anything was happening to her house. Hands shaking, I picked up the phone and called her number. It was silent except the ringing sound in my ear. "Hello" I heard a soft voice. "Hey are you home?" I said panicking in a worried tone. "Yeah why?" "Strange things are happening over here , is your power out?" "No, do you want to come over?" And then it happened. The lights started flashing on and off, creepy clowns with big red noses and pale white faces pounding on the windows, and ugly monsters stomping in the door. This time I screamed so loud that you could hear me from across the world. I was running as fast as I could to find a hiding place, and like a miracle, I found an empty cabinet just my size. The man then crawled down the loudly creaking steps from the attic and tiptoed his way to the door of the post office. He pushed upon the heavy wooden door, and there was a loud screech as the door revolved on its rusty hinges. The man in black then looked around at the town and was now able to admire how simplistic it was. Every building he could see was made from the same materials and shaped precisely the same. The only thing distinguishing public buildings were brown signs composed in a slightly eerie font. One of the signs once held a K that slowly drooped away from the other letters that read BAN. This was much to the man's delight, and he hurried across the sand to the building. After completing the several paces it took to get to the bank the man pulled on the door, and it slid easily open. Now inside, the man in black looked around and saw absolutely no modern forms of security. In the back of the room stood a large metal door with a combination dial on the front. Having been well experienced, the man in black cracked the safe within seconds and heaved the extremely heavy door open a crack. The man in black stared in awe at the contents of the safe. Little Ivy Wood was a small town which was dark and quiet. In fact was so dark that a single light would light up the rest of the town. Little Ivy Wood was my residence and I liked it the way it is, dark, quite, small and it was perfect for my occupation. Going back to Bethany, she was a young lady who had something special that everyone knew about. Gold locket. Clearly it was passed from generations down in her family it was known to be magical. Also, I forgot she had the fear of noise, like a scream, ringtones, and doorbells. Unpredictably one day the doorbell rang at Bethany 's house. As expected, she screamed and the person outside knew there was someone in the house. Also Bethany had always wanted her parents to be with her, but she had no choice but to stay alone. As she was going to open the door a small piece of paper came through the front door. On top of that the note read, "Feeling lonely, Don't worry, I'm here for you." As a result, Bethany was terrified and couldn't see how the person would know what was going on in her mind. In hesitation, she decided to call her parents to see if they were home and would visit her. Since her parents didn't pick up she called her neighbor, Brook. This has ran in my mind before. This is the story of when I was stuck in attic It was a calm Friday morning. It was the middle of Winter, but I thought it would be alright to not wear a jacket. • 12. Use of Attics in Literature Essay The Phenomenology of Space––Attic Memories and Secrets Since Gilbert and Gubar's The Madwoman in the Attic, critics have assumed that attics house madwomen. But they use that concept as a metaphor for their thesis, that women writers were isolated and treated with approbation. In most literature, attics are dark, dusty, seldom–visited storage areas, like that of the Tulliver house in The Mill on the Floss––a "great attic under the old high–pitched roof," with "worm–eaten floors," "worm–eaten shelves," and "dark rafters festooned with cobwebs"––a place thought to be "weird and ghostly." Attics do not house humans (not even mad ones) they warehouse artifacts that carry personal and familial history––often a history that has been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Attics make us think of history, interesting artifacts, old toys, books, clothes, linens, jewelry, and other treasures–but, most of all, of deep, dark, and significant family secrets. It was in the attic of the house that I grew up in that, as a snooping teenager, I found the packet of letters from my mother to her first husband. Her FIRST husband. I had never dreamed that she had had but one husband––my father. And had I not ferreted out those letters, I probably still would not know. Then, that night, my father took me aside–I'm sure at my mother's urging–and confessed that he too had been married and divorced before he met my mother. Whether particular attics hide such secrets hardly matters. What matters is that psychologically we believe that they do. In fact, attics frequently house just the sort of information I unearthed–facts that one is too attached to to throw away, but which one very much wants to remain secret. Before a discussion of attics can begin, it is essential to define what is meant by "attic" and to distinguish attics from upper rooms. Not all third floor spaces are attics, because many larger houses have and had third floor rooms that were normal living spaces, sometimeshaving bedrooms and sometimes having a huge, finished room used for balls and other parties. Such rooms were furnished, and comfortably habitable. Such is the case with a room that is often cited as an "attic" that incarcerates a "madwoman," the upper room in "The ... When my dad stripped the lacquer off the door, it still showed the cut marks made by charcoal or a pencil that served as a guide for the original door maker. Our house was a medium brown colored two–story stucco dwelling, nestled between old elm and pine trees that sat atop a hill. In the winter if you stood at the very edge of the street, on your tipee toes, you could see Lake Calhoun at the bottom of the hill. I loved my old house. The dead leaves were dancing noisily across pavements and all was still. That night I was walking down Old St.Paul's Road when the clouds started to build. I looked around as I huddled under a large, dead oak tree. I had noticed that almost all of the houses on this abandoned street were too badly damaged for us to take shelter in, except for one. I slowly got up and my mind was focused on the thing I had seen upstairs. I then felt a cold breeze that made my bones shiver and hair stand up on end. A giant rat scampered across the floor; it's beady eyes glowed red in the flicker of the lantern light. It hissed at me. I dropped my lantern. Suddenly, I was plunged into utter darkness. I took several deep breaths to calm my trembling body and finished my trek up the stairs. Vivid flashes of lightning illuminated the attic. A vase lay in pieces in front of the broken window. So, the first clue that I get from Dalton about his curiousity with the attic is when he comes downstairs after waking up when his mom is looking at old photos saying "Mom, I can't sleep either". This absolutely SCREAMS at me saying "Hey, there is something in the attic, it sounds really creepy and evil, but I REALLY want to go check it out because I don't know what it is!" She then looks up the attic ans sees, someone that looks a lot like her, and that figure attacks her, signifying that the attic is housing something, most likely one of her repressions, and that it has been under lock and key for sometime. A little later in thefilm, her brother comes home, and the family has a nice reunion. They surveyed 1,001 individuals to discover what annoyed them most about their home to obtain this information, and The Wyman Group states this is due to individuals wanting more room for their items, as opposed to a need for more space for a larger family. Blown In Insulation Research Paper Blown In Insulation May Be The Solution For Staying Warmer In The Winter If it seems like your power bill is higher in the winter than it used to be, it might be because you need to add insulation to your attic. Insulation can compress over time, or it can get wet from attic leaks and cease to work like it should. Adding insulation could improve the energy efficiency in your home and that in turn will reduce your power bill. While you can choose from a few different types of insulation to add, blown in insulation is often the best option. Here are a few things to know. Apply It Over Existing Insulation As long as your current insulation is not wet or moldy, you can have new insulation blown in over top of it. This will save you from the labor of pulling up old insulation that could release fiberglass, mouse droppings, or other dangers into the air that might circulate through your home. However, if you need to pull out the existing insulation, you will be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Fiberglass is one option. It can be blown into your attic, but there is the risk that tiny bits of fiberglass will become airborne and float through your home. For that reason, the contractor might install a netting system over the fiberglass to hold it in place. The advantage of using blown in fiberglass over batts is that the blow in variety is able to settle itself evenly over the floor of your attic, and isn't confined to the shape of the batts that might leave small gaps uninsulated. Cellulose is the more common type of blown in insulation. It is made from recycled paper and cardboard that is treated to be fire retardant. It is heavier than fiberglass, so it stays put once it is blown in. Although it is heavy, it is manufactured to be fluffy. This allows for air circulation that prevents mold. Plus, the trapping of air pockets improves insulating ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It was the beginning of a two week fall break; two weeks of freedom; two weeks of fun; and, as they were soon to find out, two weeks of danger and the aftermath of the danger. All four girls were traipsing through the forest on a path that twisted and turned alongside a small creek. Along the path, spread out amongst the thick forest, were groupings of rose bushes, huge moss–covered boulders, giant tree roots that threatened to overtake the path, wild flowers that were holding on by a thread, praying that the first frost would never come, and puddles left over from a rainstorm two days ago. All the other girls rushed over to help move the rest of the boxes out of the way. The door was about same width as a regular door, but it was only half the height. It was made made of stained–glass in different shades of blue and green. There was a tree made of wrouight iron twisted through the glass. The door didn't have a door knob, it just a small, black skeleton key with a smaller version of the stained glass attached to the end. Most older houses have large and small cracks in the foundation, roof and walls. These cracks could be small or gaping holes. Most people might only notice large holes, but some cracks cannot be seen without a magnifying glass. After locating the air leaks, the technician will seal the cracks with a caulk or foam. An HVACtechnician can find leaks with a blower and infrared cameras. • 34. Harris Burdick Narrative: The Third Floor Bedroom Harris Burdick Narrative – The Third–Floor Bedroom Jason glanced through the car window as his father pulled into the driveway of their new house, dirty and plain. Their family had moved from Texas into a house in the misty woods with the nearest city, Flora, half a mile away. I don't like this placethought Jason. "You'll make some friends soon, son," his father said to him as if he had read his mind. "You'll start school in a few weeks." Jason had no response. His father had decided to move because of a job offer in Flora, involving lumber. Jason surveyed the house. It was a standard house with three floors, one of them the attic. "Grab some boxes Jason!" his father called, interrupting Jason's train of thought. Maybe this won't be so bad Jason thought as he lifted a box of lamps. After all, he did like the quietness of the woods as opposed to Texas. "Not bad, eh?" said Jason's father, patting him on his back. "It's okay," Jason admitted. While you'll probably need to hire a contractor to blow insulation in your walls, you can install attic insulation yourself if you have basic home improvement skills. Here are a few tips that may help. Choose Your Insulation Material Blankets and blow–in insulation are easy to use if you want to install the insulation yourself. To do this, you can buy foam baffles at a home improvement store and place them along the walls and ceiling if necessary. They allow air to circulate behind them so you won't have to worry about leaving a space between the insulation and your walls. Also, before you put in the blanket or loose insulation, be sure to seal all the cracks, vents, and pipes with spray foam insulation from a can. Check for air leaks around windows and other openings and seal any you find with caulk or the spray foam. Once your attic is prepped, you can install the insulation of your choice. Work from the walls towards the center of the room near the door. When you're finished with the floor, add some insulation to the door too. You can do this by taping a piece of blanket insulation or foam insulation board to the back of the door. Then seal the door with weatherstripping so no cold air can leak through the cracks. If your home still seems too cold after you've added insulation in your attic, check other areas of your home such as the exterior walls, crawlspace, basement, and even the floors in your home. By insulating these areas too, you'll make your home even more energy ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. A Short Story : A Story? Basilton Arlen Wolff–Haynes (Baz) woke up to the noise of his roommate snoring. Groggily, he looked at his watch and groaned inwardly. The blinking digital letters read: 4:37. Way too early, he thought. There is no way I'm going to be able to go back to sleep, with Snow trying to impersonate a pig over there. Might as well get up now. Quietly, he crept out of bed, leaving the sheets practically undisturbed, and changed into his school uniform. Baz looked out the window before pulling on his blazer, too. Still tiptoeing, he sneaked out of the room, gently closing the door quietly behind him. There he was met with a moment of hesitation. Will the door still be unlocked? Do I know what I'm doing? Finally, he pushed all the doubts out of his head. It's been too long since I've been up there. It would be nice to pay the place a visit. Without making a sound, he inched down the hall until he reached the stairs. Baz walked normally now, as there was no risk of people overhearing him here, in the stairwell. When he finally got up the two flights of stairs, he sneaked back out into the hallway. Looking both ways to see if there were any early wakers about, he trudged down the hall until he reached a door at the end of the hallway. The brass nameplate read: Attic. • 37. Analysis Of David Wilentz's Case to the story. Attorney general David Wilentz was the prosecutor for the trial. Wilentz suggested to the court that the ladder that was found on the Lindbergh property came from Mr. Hauptamnn's attic (Quinlan & Quinlan, 2013). He also stated that the telephone number of Condon was found scrawled on a door frame inside a closet at Hauptmann's home (FBI 2013). According to Wilentz a portion of thewood that was used to construct the ladder match the planks of wood found in Mr. Hauptmann's home (Quinlan & Quinlan, 2013). Wood expert Arthur Koehler was called upon to examine the wood. According to his expertise in distinguishing wood, the ladder was constructed by a somewhat skilled carpenter (Quinlan & Quinlan, 2013). Koehler suggested that the ladder contained four different types of woods (Quinlan & Quinlan, 2013). One piece of wood appeared to be floor boarding that appeared to have two distinctive nail holes (Quinlan & Quinlan, 2013). Koehler also examined the floor board for manufacturing cutting marks. The Davenport House Museum is an extraordinary place to explore and learn. It is simply a beautiful and breathtaking museum. The original structure of the building was built in 1820 for Isaiah Davenport and his growing household, with his wife, children, and slaves. On my arrival to the museum I was taken by surprise on how beautiful it looked from the outside. When I first got there the outside of the front of the museum were stairs and the front door. I was not aware that the front door wasn't the entrance at all, so I attempted to open the door and when it didn't work I made a attempt to knock not knowing that the main entry was actually on the side of the house through the basement.
