Sumo Logic Signs Definitive Agreement to Acquire SOAR Provider DFLabs
Sumo Logic the pioneer of continuous intelligence, announced that it
has entered into an agreement to acquire DF Labs S.p.A., a provider of
security orchestration, automation and response (SOAR) software.
The acquisition will extend Sumo Logic’s cloud-native SIEM solution
to help reduce or eliminate tedious and error-prone manual tasks and
empower SOC teams to accelerate threat detection, analysis, incident
response and forensic investigations. The addition of DFLabs to the
Sumo Logic Continuous Intelligence Platform™ will provide
customers of varying sizes and maturities with comprehensive
cloud-native security intelligence solutions built for today’s digital
businesses that leverage modern applications, architectures and
multi-cloud infrastructures.

RingCentral Acquires Security Technology to Deliver More Secure Business
Communications and Video Meetings
RingCentral, Inc. a leading provider of global enterprise cloud

solutions, announced the acquisition of the technology and engineering
team at Kindite, a developer of leading cryptographic technologies that
mitigate and reduce security and privacy risks to information and
applications in the cloud. The new technology will be incorporated into
RingCentral’s global communications platform, providing customers with
enhanced security capabilities including end-to-end encryption. The
Kindite engineering team has developed a data-protection platform that
incorporates a unique set of cryptographic key orchestration technologies
which delivers enhanced security, privacy and compliance. These
technologies allow cloud applications to process encrypted data without
decryption, creating a secure “zero-trust” cloud environment.

Rogers Investing in $300M Partnership to Expand Wireless Connectivity and
Bring Choice to Eastern Ontario
Rogers Communications Inc. announced, alongside the Government of
Canada, the Province of Ontario, and the Eastern Ontario Regional Network, a
partnership which is expected to bring reliable wireless connectivity to 99% of
Eastern Ontario’s residents and businesses, bridging the cellular gap to
enhance work, safety, and quality of life in the region. The initiative is part of
Rogers’ ongoing commitment to expand service and improve connectivity for
underserved communities, including rural and remote regions. Rogers will
invest over $150 million in this project, the largest wireless private-public
partnership in Canadian history, to upgrade and expand the region’s wireless
telecommunications infrastructure over five years. The federal and provincial
governments are each investing $71 million to the project, with a $10 million
contribution from the Eastern Ontario Wardens’ Caucus and Eastern Ontario
Mayors’ Caucus. The total investment in this project injects more than $300
million into local infrastructure.

connectivity to the 113 municipalities and Indigenous communities of

ProntoForms Reports Annual and Q4 2020 Financial Results
• Recurring revenue for the year-ended December 31, 2020 increased by
18% to $16.19 million compared to $13.74 million for 2019.
• Total revenue for the year-ended December 31, 2020 increased by 17%
to $17.67 million compared to $15.10 million for 2019.
• Gross margin for 2020 was $15.03 million or 85% of total revenue
compared to $12.56 million (83%) in 2019. Gross margin on recurring
revenue was 92% for 2020 compared to 90% for 2019.
• Loss from operations was $0.96 million, for the year-ended December
31, 2020 down from $1.86 million for 2019.
• Net loss for the year-ended December 31, 2020 was $1.49 million,
down from a net loss of $2.27 million in 2019.
• As at December 31, 2020, the Company's cash and net working capital
balances were $7.75 million and $5.10 million respectively.
“2020 was a challenging year for everyone, however, we saw resilience
in our customers to adapt and continue to provide high-quality, safe
service delivery in the field. Our business reflected the resilience of our
customers and our employees,” said Founder and Chief Executive

IBM announced that its hybrid cloud services are now available across multiple environments -- on any cloud, on premises or at the edge via IBM Cloud
Satellite. Lumen Technologies and IBM have integrated IBM Cloud Satellite with the Lumen edge platform to enable customers to harness hybrid cloud
services in near real-time and build innovative solutions at the edge. IBM Cloud Satellite, now generally available, brings a secured, unifying layer of cloud
services for clients across environments, regardless of where their data resides, as clients address critical data privacy and data sovereignty requirements.
Industries including telecommunications, financial services, healthcare and government can now benefit from reduced latency that comes with analyzing data
securely at the edge -- supporting emergency response via connected intelligent medical devices, remote work, online learning, telehealth services, and more.
This shift toward the edge will deliver low latency, while still requiring enterprise users to have the same levels of security, data privacy, interoperability and
open standards found in a hybrid cloud environment. Additionally, IBM is working with more than 65 enterprises from its partner ecosystem, including
Cisco, Dell Technologies and Intel, to build secure cloud services via IBM Cloud Satellite. IBM is also extending its Watson Anywhere strategy with the
availability of IBM Cloud Pak for Data as a Service with IBM Cloud Satellite, giving customers a flexible, secure way to run their AI and analytics workloads
as services across multiple environments – without having to manage it themselves. EquBot, a fintech firm helping global investment professionals, is
already seeing early results showing reduced latency from ten seconds to under one second on some of the time critical models, allowing investors to make

Ericsson has launched a new network programmability tool, called 5G Core Policy Studio, to enable communications
service providers (CSPs) to more easily capture 5G revenue through offering differentiation. The tool handles the
central management of all core network policies and is fully integrated with Ericsson’s dual-mode 5G Core. The 5G
Core Policy Studio tool is a central provisioning engine that works at the core of the network. It enables access and
control of all policies that manage different 5G and 4G services through one easy-to-use graphical user interface (GUI).
This ability allows communications service providers to dynamically configure innovative services within network
slices for consumers and enterprise customers and tailor those offerings to specific user needs and network
circumstances. Ericsson testing shows that the tool can deliver savings of up to 70 percent in policy configuration
operational expenditures by simplifying the design and configuration activities compared to similar network
configuration execution without the tool.

Fujitsu Launches Data-Driven Social Creation Platform in Joint Project
with 9 Universities and 2 Research Institutes

Fujitsu announced the completion of its Data-Driven Social Creation Platform to contribute to the realization of the Japanese
government’s Society 5.0 concept (1), which presents a vision of a new, data-intensive society. The new platform commenced
operations on March 2021, and will be jointly operated by 9 universities and 2 research institutes (2) in Japan. The new platform was
installed in March 2021 in the Kashiwa II Campus Research Building of the University of Tokyo. In collaboration with the Academic
Information Network "SINET (3)" operated by the National Institute of Informatics (NII), the new platform will provide a wide range
of computing resources and data collection, storage, and analysis functions to universities and research institutions throughout Japan.
The Data-Driven Social Creation Platform consists of 368 next generation Fujitsu Server PRIMERGY CX2550 units equipped with
the latest CPU and 40 units of the next generation model of Fujitsu Server PRIMERGY GX2570 equipped with high-end GPUs (4),
as well as a storage system with a total of 27 petabytes storage capacity, optimized for high-speed processing and big data utilization.
Fujitsu will continue to support leading-edge research leveraging big data at academic institutions globally.

project will utilize Nokia DAC to validate the quality and economic value of solutions developed through the partnership.
Nokia DAC 5G standalone (SA) platform offers reliable high-bandwidth, low-latency private networking, local edge
computing capabilities, voice and video services, as well as a catalog of applications. It is a compact, easy-to-deploy platform,
comprising network equipment, a cloud-based operation monitoring system and industrial connectors that ease standard and
industry-specific protocol connectivity. The collaborative one-year project will be conducted in a real-life production
environment in WEG's factory in Jaraguá do Sul, Santa Catarina. The results will be combined with other independent studies
being carried out by Anatel, which is examining business use cases for 5G private wireless.

Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR). The Forum has awarded the site with its prestigious “Global Lighthouse” designation in recognition of
Ericsson’s deployment of next-generation technology at the site and its subsequent impact – including an impressive 2.2 times improved
output per employee when compared to a similar site without the automation and 4IR improvements. The site is the first Ericsson factory to
receive this recognition by the Forum for adoption of 4IR technologies at scale with demonstrated benefits to date. Since commencing
operations in early 2020, the USA 5G Smart Factory team has developed 25 different use cases, to be deployed at scale in less than 12 months.
When compared to a similar site without its automation and 4IR improvements, the 5G automated factory with connected robots has delivered
120 percent improved output per employee and 65 percent reduction in manual material handling. ntegrated environmental systems have been
designed to reduce energy consumption by 24 percent, indoor water usage by 75 percent when compared to a similar building and the factory
is powered by 100 percent renewable electricity. Ericsson is also pursuing LEED Gold and LEED Zero Carbon certifications for the smart
factory, which will make it the first Ericsson factory globally to achieve this distinction.

for on-board installation, as well as the Nokia 7705 SAR-8 for use onshore. This router pairing supports video and data

Elena, already implementing over 500 sites for a seamless migration to 5G services. Nokia will also deploy the first 5G non standalone

Telia and Ericsson first to trial 5G carrier aggregation in the Nordics

Telia’s ambition to bring nationwide 5G coverage to Norway by 2023, Telia and Ericsson have initiated a 5G New Radio
(NR) TDD-FDD carrier aggregation for coverage extension trial in Lillestrøm, a town located next to Oslo, the capital city
of Norway. To drive optimal 5G user experience, carrier aggregation will enable Telia to maximize its existing spectrum
and extend coverage in the mid-band frequencies (3.6 GHz), boosting capacity and increasing peak throughput for faster
data speeds. With the successful trial, Ericsson and Telia demonstrated the revolutionary nature of 5G carrier aggregation.
The solution further enhances the 5G user experience by extending coverage of the mid-band TDD bands using the uplink
of the FDD band, showing an increase in 5G coverage of over 50% in the 3.6 GHz band. With 5G Carrier Aggregation,
the download speed further out in the cell was significantly improved. Alongside the trial, Telia and Ericsson are already
making progress toward Telia’s 2023 goal and are expected to deliver 5G to 19 more cities by mid-2021, with 50 percent
of the country projected to have coverage by the end of 2021.
