Air Canada (Canada) Cargo Announces Launch Routes for its Newly
Converted Freighter Aircraft Arriving This Fall
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
4
Solution Description
Air Canada and Air Canada Cargo announced the initial list of planned routes for the Boeing 767-300ER freighters scheduled to enter service this fall. Air
Canada is in the process of fully converting several of its Boeing 767 aircraft into dedicated freighters in order to fully participate in global cargo commercial
opportunities. When the first converted 767 freighters enters service in October, they will fly primarily out of Toronto Pearson International Airport, and will
operate on routes linking Toronto to Miami, Quito, Lima, Mexico City and Guadalajara, the first time Air Canada Cargo will serve this destination. Air
Canada has begun the process of converting certain of its Boeing 767s that have been retired from its passenger fleet into fully dedicated freighters. As part
of that process, all seats are removed from the aircraft, a large door is cut into the fuselage to allow for loading of palletized cargo, and the floor is reinforced
to carry additional weight. Air Canada Cargo plans to have two freighters in service by the end of 2021, with more to join the fleet in 2022. The addition of
dedicated freighter aircraft to Air Canada's fleet will allow Air Canada Cargo to provide consistent capacity on key air cargo routes, which will facilitate the
movement of goods globally. With these freighters, Air Canada Cargo will enhance its capabilities to transport goods such as automotive and aerospace parts,
oil and gas equipment, pharmaceuticals, perishables, as well as handling the growing demand for fast, reliable shipment of e-commerce goods. In the fall of
2020, Air Canada successfully concluded a collective agreement amendment with its pilots represented by the Air Canada Pilots Association for contractual
changes to enable Air Canada to competitively operate dedicated cargo aircraft in the cargo marketplace.

SIA Group (Singapore) Launches Voluntary Carbon Offset Programme
for All Customers
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com

Solution Description
The Singapore Airlines Group launched a voluntary carbon offset programme which will enable customers across its passenger and cargo airlines
to offset their own carbon emissions via dedicated microsites. Singapore Airlines and Scoot customers will be able to offset carbon emissions from
on the respective airline microsites at any time before or after a flight. SIA and Scoot will also match the offsets that these customers purchase for
the first six months from the launch of this programme. SIA Cargo customers will be able to offset their emissions through a dedicated microsite,
which will be available in late July 2021. Corporate customers will be able to participate in the programme from the fourth quarter of 2021. The
voluntary carbon offset programme will be further enhanced to allow SIA customers to use their KrisFlyer miles and HighFlyer points to offset
their carbon emissions from the fourth quarter of 2021. The offsets will be provided via the BlueHalo® digital solution, which has been developed
by Australia-based Tasman Environmental Markets. This allows customers to immediately calculate and offset the emissions associated with their
journey. The high-quality carbon offset projects selected by the SIA Group have a proven and measurable impact on communities and the
environment. Contributions from the SIA Group’s customers would help to protect forests in Indonesia, support renewable solar energy projects
in India, and provide efficient, clean burning cookstoves for rural families in Nepal. Further details are available in Annex A.

NYK has been recognized for the company’s participation in the Protecting Blue Whales and Blue Skies vessel speed reduction (VSR) incentive
program along the West Coast of North America conducted by the National Marine Sanctuary Foundation. NYK achieved the gold tier for a third
consecutive year and received an incentive of US$10,000 for the company’s fleet traveling at 10 knots or less for at least 50% of the VSR zones.
To protect whales and cut air pollution, this program encourages voluntary vessel speed reduction in the Santa Barbara Channel region and the San
Francisco Bay area. For about six months from May 15, 2020, the program’s partners analyzed each participating company’s automatic
information system (AIS) data and evaluated the company’s adherence to the request that vessels transit at 10 knots or less through the VSR zones.
The US$10,000 incentive has been donated by NYK to World Wildlife Fund (WWF) in the United States, a conservation organization, and will be
used for environmental activities, including climate change countermeasures. On February 3, NYK released the NYK Group ESG Story which
aims to further integrate ESG into the company’s management strategy and promotes activities that contribute to the achievement of the SDGs
(Sustainable Development Goals) through business activities. To strongly promote ESG management, the NYK Group will encourage new value
creation as a sustainable solution provider through a business strategy that includes participation in programs such as this to contribute to the
achievement of better seas through preservation of the marine environment and biodiversity, which are closely related to our business.

Korean Air has been announced the winner of one of the most prestigious honors in the aviation industry: Air Transport World’s (ATW) 2021
Airline of the Year. Launched in 1974, ATW’s annual Airline Industry Achievement Awards are compared to the Academy Awards of the airline
industry. This year’s awards ceremony will be held in Boston, U.S., on October 5, 2021. This year’s award is even more meaningful to Korean Air,
as the global industry has been suffering from the unprecedented crisis caused by COVID-19. Korean Air is one of few airlines, if not the only one,
in the world recording operating profits for four consecutive quarters from the second quarter of 2020 to the first quarter of 2021. The airline made
the strategic decision to focus on the cargo business and maximize cargo operations through measures such as converting passenger jets into
freighters. Meanwhile, Korean Air took the bold step to acquire Asiana Airlines, the biggest deal in the global aviation industry during the
pandemic. The airline also quickly responded to the pandemic with its Care First program, launched to deliver the highest quality of protection to
customers throughout the entire passenger journey through enhanced cleanliness and safety protocols. In recognition of its strong safety and
hygiene measures, the carrier received a 5-star safety rating from Skytrax, one of only a few global airlines to achieve such recognition. Korean
Air plans to continue to strengthen its position in the global aviation industry, and aims to become one of the world’s top 10 airlines after
successfully acquiring and integrating Asiana Airlines.

Ferrovial (Spain) Construction Awarded Norwich Western Link Projec
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
16
Ferrovial Construction has been awarded the contract to design and build the Norwich Western Link by Norfolk County Council. Work will start on the
contract immediately alongside the council’s existing project team to further develop the design of the Norwich Western Link, including the new 6.1 km dual
carriageway road between the A47 and Broadland Northway and many of its associated measures. This work will feed into the pre-planning application
public consultation, which is scheduled for the autumn, which in turn will inform the planning application for the project, due to be submitted in early 2022.
Works will include 6.1 km of dual carriageway from A1270 to A47 including a new viaduct over the River Wensum, 6 structures for minor roads and
environmental crossings. Construction is expected to complete in 2025 with a further three years of landscape maintenance. Ferrovial Construction was the
highest scoring bidder from a competitive procurement process for the project which began in summer 2020 and during which they began developing their
proposals for the project. Their appointment followed a decision by the county council’s cabinet earlier this month to award the contract. At the same meeting
cabinet members also agreed to approve the outline business case for the Norwich Western Link, and this has now been submitted to the Department for
Transport. The business case demonstrated that the project would provide high value for money, significantly reduce many journey times to the west of
Norwich, improve road safety and reduce carbon emissions from vehicles. If the outline business case is approved, this would provide a funding commitment
from government which is expected to cover 85% of the £198 million total project costs.

Alaska Airlines and Airspace Intelligence announced the signing of a multi-year contract for the use of Flyways AI™, an industry-changing platform that uses
artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to assist dispatchers in making flight operations more efficient and sustainable by optimizing routes and improving
the predictability and flow of airline traffic. Alaska is the first airline worldwide to adopt the technology. The use of an AI-powered flight monitoring and routing
platform that aids in critical decisions is a first in the U.S. air transportation industry. It allows the airline and its employees to plan the most efficient routes by
giving dispatchers new tools to make informed decisions quickly. Using machine-learning models of the National Airspace System, Flyways predicts future
scenarios and manages exceptions network-wide by processing millions of data inputs quickly and with even greater precision. The commitment to a continued
partnership comes after an initial six-month trial program, during which Alaska's dispatchers used the new AI-powered flight prediction information to help them
plan, monitor, and make recommendations for rerouting flights to avoid issues like congested airspace and bad weather. Flyways found an opportunity to reduce
miles and fuel use for 64% of mainline flights, of which dispatchers evaluated and accepted 32% of the Flyways recommendations. Safely planning the most
efficient route for each flight is an operation performed by dispatchers, who work in the airline's Network Operations Center. Dispatchers work with pilots to ensure
the safe routing and operation of a flight. When planning a route from origin to destination, dispatchers consider the current and predicted weather, reported air
turbulence, aircraft performance, safety policies, air-traffic-control compliance and traffic volume. It is an incredibly complex workflow.

Boeing and Alaska Airlines announced they are partnering on the latest Boeing ecoDemonstrator program and will flight test about 20 technologies on a new 737-9 to enhance
the safety and sustainability of air travel. In flights beginning this summer, Boeing and Alaska will test a new halon-free fire-extinguishing agent that significantly reduces
effects on the ozone layer, evaluate an engine nacelle designed to reduce noise and assess cabin sidewalls made from recycled material, among other projects. Since 2012, the
ecoDemonstrator program has accelerated innovation by taking nearly 200 promising technologies out of the lab and testing them in the air to address challenges for the aviation
industry and improve the passenger experience. In five months of ecoDemonstrator flight tests, Boeing and Alaska will work with nine other partners to test new technologies.
After tests are complete, the airplane will be configured for passenger service and delivered to Alaska. The program’s technologies include:
• Testing a new fire extinguishing agent for aircraft that significantly reduces effects on the ozone layer. This material is intended to replace Halon 1301, which is no longer
being produced.
• Collaborating with the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to measure greenhouse-gas levels in the atmosphere to support the agency’s climate
modeling and long-term forecasting.
• Evaluating acoustic lining concepts within the engine nacelle that may reduce noise on current engines and will inform designs for next-generation models.
• Recycling carbon composite material from Boeing 777X wing production into a cabin sidewall panel. This durable, light material would reduce fuel use and carbon
emissions, and supports Boeing’s goals for sustainable manufacturing.

Delta Air Lines (USA) signs first multi-year SAF agreement with CTM, reaches
collective purchase of 300,000 gallons with corporate partners
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com
22
Delta Air Lines the first carbon neutral airline on a global basis and Corporate Travel Management an award-winning global travel management
company, have signed a multi-year sustainable aviation fuel agreement. The three-year deal will reduce lifecycle emissions by 209 metric tons of carbon
dioxide, which is equivalent to the amount of carbon sequestered by 256 acres of U.S. forests. This partnership is the first multi-year SAF commitment
for Delta and builds on the growing list of travel management companies and corporate partners that share in Delta’s commitment to bolster the future
of sustainable air travel. In total, 300,000 gallons of SAF have been purchased in collaboration with Delta’s corporate partners. This means life cycle
emissions from Delta operations will be reduced by 2,100 metric tons, which is equivalent to removing 457 passenger vehicles from the roads for one
year. With a future vision of zero-impact aviation, Delta’s first step is to solve for its largest impact on the environment—carbon dioxide emissions. To
do so, it is investing in the readily available resources that can make a difference, like SAF, which has limited supply and a ticket price 3-5 times that
of conventional jet fuel. It is why partnerships like the one with CTM are necessary. SAF is a critically important lever in Delta’s Flight to Net ZeroSM
as it reduces the life cycle carbon emissions from aviation fuel. In its pure form, it can reduce life cycle carbon emissions up to 80 percent compared to
petroleum-based jet fuel. The collaboration with BCD Travel, CWT, Deloitte, Nike, Takeda and now CTM underscore the significant positive
environmental impact that can be achieved through collaboration.

Delta Air Lines (USA): oneworld, SkyTeam and Star Alliance urge universal
travel standards
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com

The world’s economy the three global airline alliances oneworld, SkyTeam and Star Alliance are calling on G7 governments, at their upcoming leadership summit on June
11-13, to agree on a common set of travel and health standards to enable the safe reopening of borders. COVID-19 has significantly impacted the travel and tourism sector,
which has long been a key contributor to many economies. A recent estimate by the OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development) showed that
international tourism declined by around 80% in 2020. Prior to the pandemic, tourism contributed more than 4% of GDP for the average OECD country, with the World Travel
and Tourism Council estimating up to 174 million jobs at risk globally. While vaccination programs offer hope in some markets, varying – and often fast-changing - rules and
procedures across countries and at different airport hubs, continue to create confusion and stress for customers and disrupt travel. To provide much-needed clarity, the alliances
– which collectively represent almost two-thirds of global air capacity prior to COVID-19 – urge G7 governments to lead the world in aligning to the following travel measures
to reconnect travelers with the world, safely and securely:
• Fully vaccinated passengers should be exempt from quarantine.
• COVID-19 testing should be easily accessible, affordable and consistent.
• Connecting passengers at airports should not be subject to additional testing or quarantine restrictions at the point of transfer if remaining in the transit zone.
Further, the three global airline alliances support IATA’s call for governments to adopt digital processes to manage travel health credentials including vaccine and test
certificates, and for G7 member states to agree to common requirements and standards for health credentials as set out by the World Health Organization and International Civil
Aviation Organization.

Korean Air (South Korea) partners with Hyundai Oilbank to adopt Sustainable
Aviation Fuel
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com

Korean Air signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Hyundai Oilbank, a leading petroleum and refinery company in Korea, regarding
the manufacturing and usage of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). Through the partnership, Korean Air hopes to not only counter climate change
caused by the aviation industry through the use of SAF, but also help commercialize SAF and explore other business opportunities. SAF,
which is made up of grains, plants, algae and animal fats, can reduce a flight’s carbon emissions by up to 80%. However, commercializing
this eco-friendly fuel has been very difficult due to its high price, three times higher than current aviation fuel, and the lack of manufacturing
and fueling infrastructure. Korean Air and Hyundai Oilbank will work to develop a foundation for biofuel manufacturing and its usage;
explore opportunities for SAF usages in the market; raise awareness about SAF; and propose relevant policies. While aircraft operations
currently contribute to about 2 to 3% of global emissions, the growing aviation industry’s strategy to tackle climate change is critical. In 2017,
Korean Air used SAF for the first time in Korea by mixing biofuel extracted from plants such as corn with jet fuel. Korean Air is also actively
participating in the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation
(CORSIA), as it continues to replace its fleet with eco-friendly and high-efficient aircraft.

Kuehne+Nagel and IAG Cargo, the cargo division of International Airlines Group, completed a chain of 16 charter flights from Stuttgart to Atlanta fully
carbon neutral after securing initial 1.2 million liters of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). This collaboration marks the first time ever that such a charter
chain is operated with net zero carbon emissions. The entire project utilized aircraft primarily suited for passenger travel, but temporarily operated in
support of cargo. The last of the British Airways B787-900 flights left Stuttgart on June 26 with an average of 45 tons of automotive spares and other
industrial goods from shippers destined for Atlanta. Since it began its charter service last year, Kuehne+Nagel have now completed more than 300
charters - all carbon neutral either via offsetting or use of alternative fuel. As SAF still produces some CO2 emissions, complete carbon neutrality was
achieved by substituting each liter of jet fuel kerosene used with 1.25 liters of SAF. Offering this solution from Stuttgart airport, the initiative highlights
the importance of joint efforts for making sustainable transportation choices and possibilities available at close-by airports to local and global industry
players avoiding further emissions through trucking goods into major hubs. Answering growing customer demand for environmentally friendly
logistics, Kuehne+Nagel is proactively expanding its sustainable services portfolio with innovative and easily customized shipping options. The overall
commitment so far of 12.7M liters of SAF allows Kuehne+Nagel customers to benefit from immediately available alternative fuel solutions to avoid
CO2 emissions of their air freight globally.

MOL (Japan) and ACSL Use Flying Drone to Conduct Autonomous Inspection

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. and Autonomous Control Systems Laboratory Ltd. announced the success of a demonstration test using a made-in-Japan
flying drone to inspect the hold of an MOL-operated coal carrier in May. Coal iron vessels have spacious holds to load massive amounts of cargo and
some holds height reach 20m from bottom of holds. It is difficult for crews to access upper parts of the holds for inspections, but the use of drones has
the potentials to address this issue. Many industrial drones detect their position information by receiving signals from the Global Navigation Satellite
System (GNSS). However, the drones cannot access the GNSS radio frequencies for enclosed space such as inside of cargo holds with hatch cover
closed and they have to be operated manually onboard by a skilled pilot. MOL and ACSL completed a successful autonomous flight of an ACSL made
drone, ACSL-PF2 equipped with LiDAR SLAM technology, which enable to estimate its own position in holds with hatch cover closed (enclosed
conditions). Also, MOL and ACSL developed wired connection via optical fibre cables linkage with such drone, which enhance more safe autonomous
flight under non-GNSS environments. Furthermore, MOL and ACSL succeeded in shooting higher-definition inspection images even in dark areas by
mounting high-resolution camera compared to ones used previously for inspection of holds. MOL and ACSL will keep developing user-friendly drones
for crews to operate such autonomous flight capable type of drones and inspection methods in enclosed and dark spaces such as ballast tanks and various
types of holds.

Marubeni, NYK (Japan), and TDG Agree on Joint Promotion of Electronic Money
Platform Business for Seafarers

Marubeni Corporation NYK Line and Transnational Diversified Group have agreed on Marubeni’s acquisition of a stake in MarCoPay Inc., an electronic money platform
business founded by NYK Line and TDG. Nowadays, on oceangoing vessels around the world, approximately 80 billion yen is speculated to be kept as cash on board
because salary payments to crew members have traditionally occurred in cash. However, cash on board vessels leads to additional workloads and costs, such as fees to
transport cash to the vessels and remittance fees when seafarers send the received cash to their families. Moreover, seafarers spend long periods of time on vessels in a
specialized working environment, so the need for health management support and convenient online services between sea and land has existed. Also, in countries such
as the Philippines, where most crew members call home, seafarers are often not fully accorded the best credit conditions when applying for loans and can have difficulty
obtaining proper insurance services that suit their labor environment and lifestyle. This is said to be due to the term contracts of the seafarers, even though they generally
earn much more than average in their home countries. Thus, cost reduction for cash handling by vessels and improvement of the working and living environment of
seafarers has been issues within the shipping industry for some time. MarCoPay Inc. has developed an electronic money platform named “MarCoPay” that has been
designed to enable digital salary receipt, remittances, cash withdrawals, loan applications, and insurance and investment product purchases through a smartphone
application. MarCoPay minimizes cash handling costs and accounting workloads and reduces the risk of theft or loss of money on board by implementing cashless salary
payments through the use of the smartphone application. Moreover, the service will allow crew members at sea to remit money to their home countries even during
unstable internet connections at sea. Further, MarCoPay Inc. has started a loan service for Philippine seafarers.

to the care required in the origin of the cargo, but also in its arrival in Bolivia. Due to the limited structure of the airports
to condition refrigerated cargo, our local team acted to unload the vaccines in La Paz and Cochabamba quickly,
proceeding with the transport of the products to the final customer and benefiting citizens and the local community in
the fight against Covid-19.

Maersk (Denmark) supports imports and distribution of medical aid in India
to fight the COVID-19 pandemic

Maersk an integrated container logistics company, is supporting the society fight the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic in India by facilitating the logistics
and supply chain of medical relief. Maersk has offered its ocean transportation service to institutions and organisations participating in medical relief at a
nominal rate of 1 USD per container. All commercial air freight shipments facilitated by Maersk India are being done on a zero-profit basis. When the second
wave of COVID-19 pandemic hit India, the medical infrastructure came under a lot of pressure. An acute shortage of oxygen supply in hospitals led almost
all the industrial oxygen manufacturing in the country to be diverted for medical purposes. However, the challenge of transporting the oxygen to medical
facilities posed an even bigger roadblock due to a lack of cryogenic oxygen tanks that are required for transporting the medical oxygen. At this time, Maersk
stepped in and through its network connected the sellers of such tanks and oxygen concentrators from around the world to the organisations that were willing
to lease or buy them in India. This, in addition to the integrated logistics solutions offered by Maersk that range from air freight, ocean freight, landside
transportation to customs clearances, warehousing and distribution and digital solutions proved to be vital in handling the complexity involved in the entire
process of bringing the medial aid into India. The logistics activities undertaken by Maersk in order to support the medical aid into the country involve
facilitating shipments coming in from countries such as Ireland, Finland, China, Germany, U.A.E., Qatar, Israel, South Africa and Singapore with more
shipments from China, Turkey and Dammam still in progress.

United (USA) Adds 270 Boeing and Airbus Aircraft to Fleet, Largest Order in
Airline's History and Biggest by a Single Carrier in a Decade
For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com

United Airlines announced the purchase of 270 new Boeing and Airbus aircraft - the largest combined order in the airline's history and the biggest by
an individual carrier in the last decade. The 'United Next' plan will have a transformational effect on the customer experience and is expected to increase
the total number of available seats per domestic departure by almost 30%, significantly lower carbon emissions per seat and create tens of thousands of
quality, unionized jobs by 2026, all efforts that will have a positive, ripple effect across the broader U.S. economy. When combined with the current
order book, United expects to introduce more than 500 new, narrow-body aircraft: 40 in 2022, 138 in 2023 and as many as 350 in 2024 and beyond.
That means in 2023 alone, United's fleet will, on average, add about one new narrow-body aircraft every three days. United's new aircraft order – 50
737 MAX 8s, 150 737 MAX 10s and 70 A321neos – will come with a new signature interior that includes seat-back entertainment in every seat, larger
overhead bins for every passenger's carry-on bag and the industry's fastest available in-flight WiFi, as well as a bright look-and-feel with LED lighting.
The airline expects to fly the first 737 MAX 8 with the signature interior this summer and to begin flying the 737 MAX 10 and the Airbus A321neo in
early 2023. What's more, United intends to upgrade 100% of its mainline, narrow-body fleet to these standards by 2025, an extraordinary retrofit project
that, when combined with the number of new aircraft joining the fleet, means United will deliver its state-of-the-art inflight experience to tens of
millions of customers at an unprecedented pace.

Air Canada is in the process of fully converting several of its Boeing 767 aircraft into dedicated freighters in order to fully participate in global cargo commercial opportunities. When the first converted 767 freighters enters service in October, they will fly primarily out of Toronto Pearson International Airport, and will operate on routes linking Toronto to Miami, Quito, Lima, Mexico City and Guadalajara, the first time Air Canada Cargo will serve this destination. Air Canada has begun the process of converting certain of its Boeing 767s that have been retired from its passenger fleet into fully dedicated freighters. As part of that process, all seats are removed from the aircraft, a large door is cut into the fuselage to allow for loading of palletized cargo, and the floor is reinforced to carry additional weight. Air Canada Cargo plans to have two freighters in service by the end of 2021, with more to join the fleet in 2022. The addition of dedicated freighter aircraft to Air Canada's fleet will allow Air Canada Cargo to provide consistent capacity on key air cargo routes, which will facilitate the movement of goods globally. With these freighters, Air Canada Cargo will enhance its capabilities to transport goods such as automotive and aerospace parts, oil and gas equipment, pharmaceuticals, perishables, as well as handling the growing demand for fast, reliable shipment of e-commerce goods. In the fall of 2020, Air Canada successfully concluded a collective agreement amendment with its pilots represented by the Air Canada Pilots Association for contractual changes to enable Air Canada to competitively operate dedicated cargo aircraft in the cargo marketplace.

NYK achieved the gold tier for a third consecutive year and received an incentive of US$10,000 for the company’s fleet traveling at 10 knots or less for at least 50% of the VSR zones. To protect whales and cut air pollution, this program encourages voluntary vessel speed reduction in the Santa Barbara Channel region and the San Francisco Bay area. The US$10,000 incentive has been donated by NYK to World Wildlife Fund (WWF) in the United States, a conservation organization, and will be used for environmental activities, including climate change countermeasures. On February 3, NYK released the NYK Group ESG Story which aims to further integrate ESG into the company’s management strategy and promotes activities that contribute to the achievement of the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) through business activities. Launched in 1974, ATW’s annual Airline Industry Achievement Awards are compared to the Academy Awards of the airline industry. This year’s awards ceremony will be held in Boston, U.S., on October 5, 2021. This year’s award is even more meaningful to Korean Air, as the global industry has been suffering from the unprecedented crisis caused by COVID-19. Korean Air is one of few airlines, if not the only one, in the world recording operating profits for four consecutive quarters from the second quarter of 2020 to the first quarter of 2021. The airline made the strategic decision to focus on the cargo business and maximize cargo operations through measures such as converting passenger jets into freighters. Meanwhile, Korean Air took the bold step to acquire Asiana Airlines, the biggest deal in the global aviation industry during the pandemic. The airline also quickly responded to the pandemic with its Care First program, launched to deliver the highest quality of protection to customers throughout the entire passenger journey through enhanced cleanliness and safety protocols. In recognition of its strong safety and hygiene measures, the carrier received a 5-star safety rating from Skytrax, one of only a few global airlines to achieve such recognition. Korean Air plans to continue to strengthen its position in the global aviation industry, and aims to become one of the world’s top 10 airlines after successfully acquiring and integrating Asiana Airlines. • 28. Partner Ecosystem Updates IT Shades Engage & Enable Alaska Arliines (USA) and Airspace Intelligence announce first-of-its-kind partnership to optimize air traffic flow with artificial intelligence and machine learning For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 19 Alaska Airlines and Airspace Intelligence announced the signing of a multi-year contract for the use of Flyways AI™, an industry-changing platform that uses artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to assist dispatchers in making flight operations more efficient and sustainable by optimizing routes and improving the predictability and flow of airline traffic. Alaska is the first airline worldwide to adopt the technology. The use of an AI-powered flight monitoring and routing platform that aids in critical decisions is a first in the U.S. air transportation industry. It allows the airline and its employees to plan the most efficient routes by giving dispatchers new tools to make informed decisions quickly. Using machine-learning models of the National Airspace System, Flyways predicts future scenarios and manages exceptions network-wide by processing millions of data inputs quickly and with even greater precision. The commitment to a continued partnership comes after an initial six-month trial program, during which Alaska's dispatchers used the new AI-powered flight prediction information to help them plan, monitor, and make recommendations for rerouting flights to avoid issues like congested airspace and bad weather. Flyways found an opportunity to reduce miles and fuel use for 64% of mainline flights, of which dispatchers evaluated and accepted 32% of the Flyways recommendations. Safely planning the most efficient route for each flight is an operation performed by dispatchers, who work in the airline's Network Operations Center. Dispatchers work with pilots to ensure the safe routing and operation of a flight. When planning a route from origin to destination, dispatchers consider the current and predicted weather, reported air turbulence, aircraft performance, safety policies, air-traffic-control compliance and traffic volume. It is an incredibly complex workflow. Description

Partner Ecosystem Updates IT Shades Engage & Enable Delta Air Lines (USA) signs first multi-year SAF agreement with CTM, reaches collective purchase of 300,000 gallons with corporate partners For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 22 Delta Air Lines the first carbon neutral airline on a global basis and Corporate Travel Management an award-winning global travel management company, have signed a multi-year sustainable aviation fuel agreement. The three-year deal will reduce lifecycle emissions by 209 metric tons of carbon dioxide, which is equivalent to the amount of carbon sequestered by 256 acres of U.S. forests. This partnership is the first multi-year SAF commitment for Delta and builds on the growing list of travel management companies and corporate partners that share in Delta’s commitment to bolster the future of sustainable air travel. In total, 300,000 gallons of SAF have been purchased in collaboration with Delta’s corporate partners. This means life cycle emissions from Delta operations will be reduced by 2,100 metric tons, which is equivalent to removing 457 passenger vehicles from the roads for one year. With a future vision of zero-impact aviation, Delta’s first step is to solve for its largest impact on the environment—carbon dioxide emissions. To do so, it is investing in the readily available resources that can make a difference, like SAF, which has limited supply and a ticket price 3-5 times that of conventional jet fuel. It is why partnerships like the one with CTM are necessary. SAF is a critically important lever in Delta’s Flight to Net ZeroSM as it reduces the life cycle carbon emissions from aviation fuel. In its pure form, it can reduce life cycle carbon emissions up to 80 percent compared to petroleum-based jet fuel. The collaboration with BCD Travel, CWT, Deloitte, Nike, Takeda and now CTM underscore the significant positive environmental impact that can be achieved through collaboration. Description

  • 33. Partner Ecosystem Updates IT Shades Engage & Enable Delta Air Lines (USA): oneworld, SkyTeam and Star Alliance urge universal travel standards For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 24 The world’s economy the three global airline alliances oneworld, SkyTeam and Star Alliance are calling on G7 governments, at their upcoming leadership summit on June 11-13, to agree on a common set of travel and health standards to enable the safe reopening of borders. COVID-19 has significantly impacted the travel and tourism sector, which has long been a key contributor to many economies. A recent estimate by the OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development) showed that international tourism declined by around 80% in 2020. Prior to the pandemic, tourism contributed more than 4% of GDP for the average OECD country, with the World Travel and Tourism Council estimating up to 174 million jobs at risk globally. While vaccination programs offer hope in some markets, varying – and often fast-changing - rules and procedures across countries and at different airport hubs, continue to create confusion and stress for customers and disrupt travel. To provide much-needed clarity, the alliances – which collectively represent almost two-thirds of global air capacity prior to COVID-19 – urge G7 governments to lead the world in aligning to the following travel measures to reconnect travelers with the world, safely and securely: • Fully vaccinated passengers should be exempt from quarantine. • COVID-19 testing should be easily accessible, affordable and consistent. • Connecting passengers at airports should not be subject to additional testing or quarantine restrictions at the point of transfer if remaining in the transit zone. Further, the three global airline alliances support IATA’s call for governments to adopt digital processes to manage travel health credentials including vaccine and test certificates, and for G7 member states to agree to common requirements and standards for health credentials as set out by the World Health Organization and International Civil Aviation Organization. • 36. Partner Ecosystem Updates IT Shades Engage & Enable Korean Air (South Korea) partners with Hyundai Oilbank to adopt Sustainable Aviation Fuel For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 27 Korean Air signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Hyundai Oilbank, a leading petroleum and refinery company in Korea, regarding the manufacturing and usage of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). Through the partnership, Korean Air hopes to not only counter climate change caused by the aviation industry through the use of SAF, but also help commercialize SAF and explore other business opportunities. SAF, which is made up of grains, plants, algae and animal fats, can reduce a flight’s carbon emissions by up to 80%. However, commercializing this eco-friendly fuel has been very difficult due to its high price, three times higher than current aviation fuel, and the lack of manufacturing and fueling infrastructure. Korean Air and Hyundai Oilbank will work to develop a foundation for biofuel manufacturing and its usage; explore opportunities for SAF usages in the market; raise awareness about SAF; and propose relevant policies. While aircraft operations currently contribute to about 2 to 3% of global emissions, the growing aviation industry’s strategy to tackle climate change is critical. In 2017, Korean Air used SAF for the first time in Korea by mixing biofuel extracted from plants such as corn with jet fuel. Korean Air is also actively participating in the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA), as it continues to replace its fleet with eco-friendly and high-efficient aircraft. • 38. Partner Ecosystem Updates IT Shades Engage & Enable Kuehne+ Nagel (Switzerland) and IAG Cargo complete the first net zero carbon charter chain For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 29 Kuehne+Nagel and IAG Cargo, the cargo division of International Airlines Group, completed a chain of 16 charter flights from Stuttgart to Atlanta fully carbon neutral after securing initial 1.2 million liters of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). This collaboration marks the first time ever that such a charter chain is operated with net zero carbon emissions. The entire project utilized aircraft primarily suited for passenger travel, but temporarily operated in support of cargo. The last of the British Airways B787-900 flights left Stuttgart on June 26 with an average of 45 tons of automotive spares and other industrial goods from shippers destined for Atlanta. Since it began its charter service last year, Kuehne+Nagel have now completed more than 300 charters - all carbon neutral either via offsetting or use of alternative fuel. As SAF still produces some CO2 emissions, complete carbon neutrality was achieved by substituting each liter of jet fuel kerosene used with 1.25 liters of SAF. Offering this solution from Stuttgart airport, the initiative highlights the importance of joint efforts for making sustainable transportation choices and possibilities available at close-by airports to local and global industry players avoiding further emissions through trucking goods into major hubs. Answering growing customer demand for environmentally friendly logistics, Kuehne+Nagel is proactively expanding its sustainable services portfolio with innovative and easily customized shipping options. The overall commitment so far of 12.7M liters of SAF allows Kuehne+Nagel customers to benefit from immediately available alternative fuel solutions to avoid CO2 emissions of their air freight globally. • 39. Partner Ecosystem Updates IT Shades Engage & Enable MOL (Japan) and ACSL Use Flying Drone to Conduct Autonomous Inspection of Vessel Holds under non GNSS and dark environment For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 30 Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. and Autonomous Control Systems Laboratory Ltd. announced the success of a demonstration test using a made-in-Japan flying drone to inspect the hold of an MOL-operated coal carrier in May. Coal iron vessels have spacious holds to load massive amounts of cargo and some holds height reach 20m from bottom of holds. It is difficult for crews to access upper parts of the holds for inspections, but the use of drones has the potentials to address this issue. Many industrial drones detect their position information by receiving signals from the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). However, the drones cannot access the GNSS radio frequencies for enclosed space such as inside of cargo holds with hatch cover closed and they have to be operated manually onboard by a skilled pilot. MOL and ACSL completed a successful autonomous flight of an ACSL made drone, ACSL-PF2 equipped with LiDAR SLAM technology, which enable to estimate its own position in holds with hatch cover closed (enclosed conditions). Also, MOL and ACSL developed wired connection via optical fibre cables linkage with such drone, which enhance more safe autonomous flight under non-GNSS environments. Furthermore, MOL and ACSL succeeded in shooting higher-definition inspection images even in dark areas by mounting high-resolution camera compared to ones used previously for inspection of holds. MOL and ACSL will keep developing user-friendly drones for crews to operate such autonomous flight capable type of drones and inspection methods in enclosed and dark spaces such as ballast tanks and various types of holds. • 41. Partner Ecosystem Updates IT Shades Engage & Enable Marubeni, NYK (Japan), and TDG Agree on Joint Promotion of Electronic Money Platform Business for Seafarers For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 32 Marubeni Corporation NYK Line and Transnational Diversified Group have agreed on Marubeni’s acquisition of a stake in MarCoPay Inc., an electronic money platform business founded by NYK Line and TDG. Nowadays, on oceangoing vessels around the world, approximately 80 billion yen is speculated to be kept as cash on board because salary payments to crew members have traditionally occurred in cash. However, cash on board vessels leads to additional workloads and costs, such as fees to transport cash to the vessels and remittance fees when seafarers send the received cash to their families. Moreover, seafarers spend long periods of time on vessels in a specialized working environment, so the need for health management support and convenient online services between sea and land has existed. Also, in countries such as the Philippines, where most crew members call home, seafarers are often not fully accorded the best credit conditions when applying for loans and can have difficulty obtaining proper insurance services that suit their labor environment and lifestyle. This is said to be due to the term contracts of the seafarers, even though they generally earn much more than average in their home countries. Thus, cost reduction for cash handling by vessels and improvement of the working and living environment of seafarers has been issues within the shipping industry for some time. MarCoPay Inc. has developed an electronic money platform named “MarCoPay” that has been designed to enable digital salary receipt, remittances, cash withdrawals, loan applications, and insurance and investment product purchases through a smartphone application. MarCoPay minimizes cash handling costs and accounting workloads and reduces the risk of theft or loss of money on board by implementing cashless salary payments through the use of the smartphone application. Moreover, the service will allow crew members at sea to remit money to their home countries even during unstable internet connections at sea. Further, MarCoPay Inc. has started a loan service for Philippine seafarers. Description

The airline and more than 11,000 of its AAdvantage® members raised the full amount in less than one month. Since the onset of the pandemic, American Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies have been in close coordination to provide COVID-19 relief and assistance around the world, responding in every region and coordinating with governments, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, World Health Organization and other public health organizations to keep people safe. Together, the organizations have played a critical role in providing a tailored response to impacted communities based on the needs of each country and the phase or severity of the outbreak. Contributions help the organizations fund necessary supplies, such as vaccinations, supplemental oxygen and hygiene kits. AAdvantage members were asked to donate a minimum of $25, where they would earn 10 miles for every dollar contributed, but American’s valued customers did more than just the minimum required with an average donation of $135 — more than five times the minimum donation amount. Since last year, Skytrax has conducted the ‘COVID-19 airline safety ratings’through an audit that evaluates the safety and hygiene protocols introduced by airlines during the coronavirus pandemic. The 5-star rating, the highest level, recognizes the airline’s world-best quality to assure customers a safe air travel experience. In 2020, Korean Air was named as a 5-star airline in Skytrax’s ‘World Airline Star Rating’for the quality of its airport and onboard product and staff service. The airline’s consecutive ‘5-star’certifications reflect its excellence in both customer service and COVID-19 safety standards. Korean Air’s COVID-19 5-star certification was attributed to the airline’s comprehensive efforts in its ‘Care First’ program that was introduced in August last year. Korean Air created a Care First page on its website to actively communicate its activities for passengers’ health such as in-flight cleanliness, touchless check-in, checking passengers’ temperatures, social distancing and enhancing in-flight meal hygiene. The airline also provides further details of the Care First program and safety of the air travel through a safety information video on its website, social channels and inflight entertainment. A Care First kit, a set of hygiene products consisting of a facial mask, hand sanitizer, and information sheet, is also available upon request at all Korean Air’s check-in counters and boarding gates. In addition to now being ready for future demands originating in Russia. The challenge of the operation was not limited to the care required in the origin of the cargo, but also in its arrival in Bolivia. Due to the limited structure of the airports to condition refrigerated cargo, our local team acted to unload the vaccines in La Paz and Cochabamba quickly, proceeding with the transport of the products to the final customer and benefiting citizens and the local community in the fight against Covid-19. Environment & Social Updates IT Shades Engage & Enable Maersk (Denmark) supports imports and distribution of medical aid in India to fight the COVID-19 pandemic For any queries, Please write to marketing@itshades.com 40 Maersk an integrated container logistics company, is supporting the society fight the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic in India by facilitating the logistics and supply chain of medical relief. Maersk has offered its ocean transportation service to institutions and organisations participating in medical relief at a nominal rate of 1 USD per container. All commercial air freight shipments facilitated by Maersk India are being done on a zero-profit basis. When the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic hit India, the medical infrastructure came under a lot of pressure. An acute shortage of oxygen supply in hospitals led almost all the industrial oxygen manufacturing in the country to be diverted for medical purposes. However, the challenge of transporting the oxygen to medical facilities posed an even bigger roadblock due to a lack of cryogenic oxygen tanks that are required for transporting the medical oxygen. At this time, Maersk stepped in and through its network connected the sellers of such tanks and oxygen concentrators from around the world to the organisations that were willing to lease or buy them in India. This, in addition to the integrated logistics solutions offered by Maersk that range from air freight, ocean freight, landside transportation to customs clearances, warehousing and distribution and digital solutions proved to be vital in handling the complexity involved in the entire process of bringing the medial aid into India. The logistics activities undertaken by Maersk in order to support the medical aid into the country involve facilitating shipments coming in from countries such as Ireland, Finland, China, Germany, U.A.E., Qatar, Israel, South Africa and Singapore with more shipments from China, Turkey and Dammam still in progress. The 'United Next' plan will have a transformational effect on the customer experience and is expected to increase the total number of available seats per domestic departure by almost 30%, significantly lower carbon emissions per seat and create tens of thousands of quality, unionized jobs by 2026, all efforts that will have a positive, ripple effect across the broader U.S. economy. When combined with the current order book, United expects to introduce more than 500 new, narrow-body aircraft: 40 in 2022, 138 in 2023 and as many as 350 in 2024 and beyond. That means in 2023 alone, United's fleet will, on average, add about one new narrow-body aircraft every three days. United's new aircraft order – 50 737 MAX 8s, 150 737 MAX 10s and 70 A321neos – will come with a new signature interior that includes seat-back entertainment in every seat, larger overhead bins for every passenger's carry-on bag and the industry's fastest available in-flight WiFi, as well as a bright look-and-feel with LED lighting. The airline expects to fly the first 737 MAX 8 with the signature interior this summer and to begin flying the 737 MAX 10 and the Airbus A321neo in early 2023. What's more, United intends to upgrade 100% of its mainline, narrow-body fleet to these standards by 2025, an extraordinary retrofit project that, when combined with the number of new aircraft joining the fleet, means United will deliver its state-of-the-art inflight experience to tens of millions of customers at an unprecedented pace.
