1. WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT ABOUT
TECHNOLOGIES FROM THE PROCESS OF
CONSTRUCTING THIS PRODUCT?

2. USING A DIGITAL CAMERA AND A TRIPOD
When taking the photos for my music magazine, I
learnt how to use a Canon digital camera, ensuring
the images were high quality and focused. There
are different sizes which the image could be,
therefore I had to make sure the size was big
enough so it wouldn’t be pixelated or blurry.
I used the tripod to ensure that the images were
straight and steady, it is useful to get several
images one after another to see which one to
choose from.
3. PHOTOSHOP
Before this project, I had never used Photoshop before, at first I
thought it was extremely difficult, but once I tested out the different
tools, I found it easy to use. Different tools I used included:
Cutting out tools (magnetic lasso, quick selection tool and the
magic wand tool)
Blemish repair tools (spot healing brush tool, healing brush tool)
Brush tool using different colours to achieve the make-up finish I
would’ve liked
Shape and text tool to create different sections on my contents
page
Changing the colour of the image e.g. the brightness and
contrast (to make her appear paler), hue and saturation (to
change the colour of her hair), and the colour balance to take
away certain colours, e.g. if the image looked more yellow, or red
– changing it to make it balanced and natural looking.
4. BLOGSPOT
I used Blogspot to present my project. Previously I
have never used this website before, but I soon got
the hang of it after I tested out different tools, just like
Photoshop. I changed the layout of my blog to fit a
style that I liked, I then added different ‘widgets’ to
personalise my blog even further. By being able to put
the work I have produced onto the internet, which is
available for everyone to see, it changes me from
being a consumer to a ‘prosumer’.
