The document discusses the process of creating a magazine contents page. It describes using Photoshop to edit pictures with effects, add other images and text in different fonts and colors. Although a flat plan was used initially, ideas changed during production due to inspiration from other magazines. An SLR camera was used with a studio background and lighting to make models stand out, and Photoshop was used to make changes like adjusting contrast. Flash was used for contents pages but not the cover, and Photoshop was used to manually brighten images.
2. To construct my contents page I used the
software ‘Photoshop’ To edit the pictures
with effects and adding other sub-images
onto the main image, as well as including
different text fonts and colours for the
mast head, contents page numbers/sub-
text. Although I used a flat plan for my
contents page, I did not stick to it as my
ideas changed during the process of the
production as I was being inspired by
other soul magazines.
3. I used a canon SLR camera which was
perfect to use with a studio background
and lighting, as I was able to use the focus
for my model as the background lighting
made the models stand out. Any changes
made was done on Photoshop e.g.
Contrast on the model.
When using the SLR camera, I learnt how
to use the flash of the camera for my
contents and double page spread as the
images of the models are brighter
compared to my front cover as I did not
use flash and only studio lighting; then
using Photoshop to manually make the
image brighter.

4. For my research and planning, I used a variety presentation websites
such as Prezi, Emaze, Slideshare and YouTube as it allowed me to
present my results and plan in more detailed but to also make my
presentations look or sound more interesting.
To present my foundation portfolio, I used blogger which was a
great way to show the journey of my work and how much
progression I have made throughout this project. It is also to
navigate around to present my work in a formal and sophisticated
manner. In terms of font, I was able to experiment with different
types using Dafont, which had a range of fonts that I could choose
from for my magazine.
My evaluation consists of more creative presentation software such
as powtoon and voicethread, as well as using the same presentation
websites that I used for my research and planning (prezi, emaze,
slideshare, YouTube). The reason why I used the additional software
is because I wanted to present my work not only visually but also
through audio, bringing my work to life.
5. In terms of planning the layouts
of my magazine (front cover,
contents page and double page
spread) I used PowerPoint
presentation because it was
quick and easy to use and create
flat plans of how I wanted my
magazine to be laid out.
I used Photoshop to construct
and edit my photos so that I was
able to create effects to the
photos as well as changing the
brightness of the photos. I also
used Photoshop to edit the fonts
with it’s size and colour. I was
able to create shapes (e.g.
buttons and banner) for my
front cover on Photoshop.
